Honored To Be Invited

I'm honored to be invited by Governor Romney to address my fellow Republicans at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, but especially grateful for the opportunity to explain to my fellow Americans why this election provides the most stark contrast of political platforms in American history. Four years ago, many Americans were willing to give an untested and largely unknown candidate their hope. Barack Obama made wonderful speeches and promised a government that would be dramatically different. That turned out to be an understatement. We were promised transparency but we have been a government cloaked in secrecy , Executive Privilege, and hidden agendas. We were promised a government that would operate in a bi-partisan manner to solve problems, but have been given a government that has been led by the most divisive and partisan President in modern memory. We were promised economic recovery and the creation of millions of jobs, but have now seen the longest period of record unemployment since the Great Depression. We were promised that we'd have the respect of the nations of the world, but the nations posing the greatest threat to our security like Iran, have shown no regard for the political speeches that have substituted for sound and stellar policy. We were promised that we would make major reforms in our tax code and even watched an esteemed Commission of thoughtful people create a blueprint for addressing the staggering debt, but Barack Obama appointed the Commission, allowed it to do its work, and promptly ignored its every recommendation. He campaigned with the clarity that he would respect the sacred institution of marriage and claimed it was his own belief, but then became the first President in history to support changing the nature and definition of marriage. And he promised that his faith would guide him, but instead he has launched a full frontal assault on the conscience and convictions of religious liberty by insisting that his government run health system include forcing churches, colleges, hospitals, and businesses to bow their knee to the Baal of the federal government. Electing Mitt Romney is our opportunity to restore the function and scope of our government to its Constitutional origins. I will do all I can to help Mitt Romney become our President.

They better have invited you to speak! You are one of the main reasons I still have some hope in the Republican Party reforming itself. It is time for leaders in the GOP support and uphold real conservative/constitutional principles. The Dems are not the only ones to blame for all the excessive spending and refusing to address the immigration problem. Mike, your voice is finally being heard and respected by the elite establishment in the GOP and they need to heed your words. You are better than Rush Limbaugh, explaining facts using common sense and with humility and humor. Hope your speech rocks the delegates to their feet!! It is time for a new spiritual/civic awakening in America and your leadership will play a major role in accomplishing "one nation, under God, indivisible!"

    Gov. Huckabee,
I am so sorry I commented last night on how dis-satisfied I and a great many people are concerning this election.
I'm not mad - just totally upset with our "elites."
I will soon be going to vote here in MO.
I lean heavily on your opnion, as to character and integrity.
I stayed awake until about 12:30am trying to figure out all these different candidates (we are new to MO, and I don't know a great deal - like who is a wolf in sheep's clothing is a big concern & I'm not interested in voting for folks just because someone knows someone who knows...)
And although I'm sorry for my comment last night - It really does discribe the attitudes of a lot! of folks I know - and our choices for president is v-e-r-y poor.
SORRY again - please forgive me my frustrations concerning this election?

    Re: Chick Fil-A and USA

Look forward to seeing you perhaps in the same time-slot as four years ago, but this time followed by Speaker Newt Gingrich.

The two of you can say more in 15 and 27 minutes respectively about Chick Fil-A and USA Appreciation Day than anyone. Good way to set the platform for the vp pick to talk from.

All the best in your prep and in Governor Romney's picks.

I only wish it was you I would be voting for!
And I will watch your speech - but not interested in Romney and others like him - McCain...
I feel sorry for us - The People.
We are so tired of having to beg so called "conservatives" to be true conservatives. It's to the point that a lot of those I know don't even listen to "FOX News" and flip the channel everytime a campaign ad concerning the upcoming election. Not only are we no longer listening - we are not giving donations to them. (I guess that's ok because the "elites" have enough - I hope)
We will propably vote??? But unless Romney picks someone a lot like you - I'll not vote for him.
I'm tired of the "Republican Elites" dictating, manipulating and buying the elections to get "their" candidate into office. Forgetting that we the people never wanted the likes of Romney or McCain.
Again - I hope Romney has enough money to finish buying the presidency (he'll not receive any of mine) - because the idea of Obama for another 4 years is beyond - belief, it is down right frightening.

Couldn't have picked a better guy to tell it like it is and defend the ideals that made this country great.
