Support Chick Fil-A

Jul 23 2012

I have been incensed at the vitriolic assaults on the Chick fil-A company because the CEO, Dan Cathy, made comments recently in which he affirmed his view that the Biblical view of marriage should be upheld. The Cathy family, led by Chick fil-A founder Truett Cathy, are a wonderful Christian family who are committed to operating the company with Biblical principles and whose story is the true American success story. Starting at age 46 Truett Cathy built Chick fil-A into a $4 billion a year enterprise with over 1600 stores. At 91, he is still active in the company, but his son Dan runs it day to day as CEO.It's a great American story that is being smeared by vicious hate speech and intolerant bigotry from the left.

The Chick fil-A company refuses to open on Sundays so that their employees can go to church if they wish. Despite the pressure from malls, airports, and the business world to open on Sundays, they still don't. They treat customers and employees with respect and dignity.

I ask you to join me in speaking out on Wednesday, August 1 "Chick fil-A Appreciation Day.” No one is being asked to make signs, speeches, or openly demonstrate. The goal is simple: Let's affirm a business that operates on Christian principles and whose executives are willing to take a stand for the Godly values we espouse by simply showing up and eating at Chick fil-A on Wednesday, August 1. Too often, those on the left make corporate statements to show support for same sex marriage, abortion, or profanity, but if Christians affirm traditional values, we're considered homophobic, fundamentalists, hate-mongers, and intolerant. This effort is not being launched by the Chick fil-A company and no one from the company or family is involved in proposing or promoting it.

There's no need for anyone to be angry or engage in a verbal battle. Simply affirm appreciation for a company run by Christian principles by showing up on Wednesday, August 1 or by participating online – tweeting your support or sending a message on Facebook.

I am amazed that this issue has not gotten more press. That a private citizen can not voice his personal opinion when his business complies with every law is very scary. It has mobilized many people in our area because as Christian businessmen we now see how far people will go to silence opposition.I hope that others are also as concerned and don't let this issue die.

I am in full support of Chick-fil-A! I believe Christians still have a right to have their own opinon! Please tell the left wing they have a right to their opinions, but so do we!

Please air on your show how the colleges are being attacked and I suggest that you encourage the christian students to start petitions to keep their stores open. They need to go to the presidents of their college and make their voices heard. Most students don't even know that their CFA on campus is being affected.

Mike: In 2010 I traveled to Israel with your tour group. When I met you briefly, I thanked you for being such a great Christian influence on our culture today. May I thank you again Mike? My son- in -law has a Chick-fil-A stand alone store in Pa. On August 1st his numbers year to date improved 248%.

Please call for a Chick-fil-A support date on college campuses who are forced to close their campus stores. Perhaps you could interview a few "free speech" sensitive students on your show?? Joanna

The media has distorted and flat out lied about what Dan Cathy said in his interview. As a result the gay community is working overtime to damage CFA. This hit the media last Wednesday, and by Monday of this week 33 college campus locations have called to close their CFA stores. As of this morning the number is up to 40. Two universities will literally be closing by tomorrow. Three critical ones are Penn. State, University of Louisville, and St. Louis University.
Keith feels that since most people don't know about all the college stores, the general public doesn't see the gays as doing much damage, nor are they aware of how CHRISTIANS can help CFA.
The CFA stores on the college campus locations are under fire from the LGBT community. For those of you who do facebook or know how to tweet...
NOW is the time to do it! TODAY IF POSSIBLE!
Tell as many people as you know to get in touch with the Mike Huckabee Show and ask him to air on his show how the colleges are being attacked and suggest that he encourage the Christian students to start petitions to keep their stores open.
They need to go to the presidents of their college and make their voices heard. Most students don't even know that their CFA on campus is being affected.
I am amazed at the "QUICK" organization of the gay community and their power to PRESSURE college presidents to remove the stores.
You can go to the CFA website to get a list of all the college campus locations; there are about 180 stores.
