A big salute to a Huck’s Heroine, daycare teacher Michelle Hammack of Arlington, Florida. While her kids were napping at Little Temples Childcare last week, she smelled smoke. She discovered there was a fire in the oven. The fire alarm went off. So she rushed back into the classroom, woke her kids, and got them all outside to safety. Then she went back into the school, and doused the fire with an extinguisher before it could spread. And for her heroism, she was…fired? Yes, you heard right: she was fired. See, she broke the rule against leaving the kids alone in the classroom. Even though they were all asleep. And if she hadn’t, the school might have burned down around them. The owner won’t budge: she says she’d do the same thing again. But the Department of Children and Families is investigating. Let’s hope they can light a fire under her.

Since people generally do not visualize a fetus as a human person it would help if there was a sitcom series where it was discovered that a fetus was telepathically communicating with other fetuses and commenting on their environment and imaginings on what was going on in the world outside their womb.

Maybe this would affect the opinions of some pro abortionists.

What do you think of this idea?

I have worked for 30years, since I was 16, and I am now unemployed, I called to get help for my family, maybe at least food stamps and they told me that I don't qualify........the one time I ask for help for a short time and I am denied. Is it because I am white? Because I don't have 6 kids, we only have 2, or is it because I am married and I don't live in the ghetto? They of course couldn't tell me , only told me that I don't qualify......paying taxes for 30 years and the one time I need help......the answer is NO!!! How does everyone else qualify?

Stupidity runs rampant yet again! These "zero tolerance" policies are just an excuse for individuals to
excersize "zero common sense". Too bad it isn't teachable! Best of luck to this brave teacher. With administration like that I would want to work there let alone allow my children to be there!
