A Kinder, Gentler RNC
Mike Huckabee
This is from yesterday's Huckabee Report:
Well, the two Presidential candidates are going at each other like Rock ‘Em-Sock ‘Em Robots. Obama is continuing to hammer Romney on Bain Capital and releasing his tax forms. But Romney has stopped demanding apologies and gone on offense. He’s launched a new line of attack, accusing Obama of crony capitalism, giving billions of dollars in taxpayer loans that are never repaid to favored green-related companies run by big Democratic donors. I guess in that way, Obama’s right: those businesses wouldn’t exist without government help.
But while all this political carnage is going on at the top, the Republican National Committee has launched a new ad taking a completely different direction. They’ve realized that a lot of Obama’s support is based in emotion. They’re people who were moved by his speeches in 2008, and still like him personally, which makes it hard for them to judge the results of his policies objectively. You can’t convince those people to change their votes by attacking Obama, because it just makes them defend him. So the RNC has started running a whole new kind of ad in battleground states: the kinder, gentler attack ad. There’s no “mean tone,” and it doesn’t even mention Mitt Romney. Instead, it credits Obama for having big plans to fix the economy and unemployment in 2008. Then it shows the results. Then it sympathetically reassures viewers that, quote: “He tried. You tried. It’s OK to make a change.” Sounds almost like a Hallmark card.
I don’t know if it will work, but I’ll bet TV viewers in the battleground states will be at least grateful for being able to go 30 seconds without a headache.
I want to know what you think. Leave me a comment below. I read them!

I was beginning to think the RNC doesn't understand the fundamentals of marketing.

Hello Governor Huckabee, I believe this is a step in the right direction to remove Obama from office. I would like the RNC to present the facts: over 14% of blacks are unemployed, 49% of American people do not pay income tax, Government spending has no boundaries with this administration, US deficit is at an all time high and climbing, Obamacare will break our country financially and pushing Doctors out of the profession, the class warfare and anti-business are splitting this country. these messages can get through to the American people. Thank you listening and God Bless.

I agree, consevatives do not need to be mean or demean, like Joe use to say, the fact and nothing but the facts are enough. The ads actually make me nauseated.

As a staunch Republican, I want to see Romney's Campaign stressing what positive steps/actions it will be taking to heal our County and its Citizens, and not respond to any of Obama's negative comments--when he ignores Obama's crying, fabrications, etc, Obama will soon realize that those tactics are not getting Romney off his Campaign plans---emphasize the positives, and ignore the negatives from Obama. Romney needs to stop saying that he will "repeal" Obamacare" his first day in office, and instead emphasize that he will be "replacing" Obamacare with Health insurance initiatives that will be fair to all Parties involved in our health system.

And, THAT, Governor, is why the RNC won't be getting 'one thin dime' from me anytime soon.
We've had too many 'nice guy' candidates who aren't in the big race to win: Senators Dole and McCain quickly come to mind.
The RNC and its RINO/Obama Lite national candidates just won't/don't play hard ball, and they won't/can't win the White House until they do.
