California does the unthinkable

September 19, 2017

Saturday, the California Senate passed a bill to declare California a “sanctuary state,” and Gov. Jerry Brown is expected to sign it. This means all state officials will be in revolt against federal law and refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities, putting the welfare of illegal aliens, even those wanted by federal authorities, above the rights and safety of their own citizens. The bill is appropriately named “The California Values Act.” The bill does include some exceptions for those accused of the most violent or serious crimes. So good news, Californians: you will only be at the mercy of criminal illegal aliens who are accused of less violent crimes.

Didn’t we already have a big argument over whether states were subservient to the federal government back in the 1860s? And then, I believe there was an echo of that involving schools in the 1950s. And only a few years ago, we saw the federal government suing and seeking to jail Arizona officials for actually trying to enforce federal laws that the federal government refused to enforce. This type of defiance of the law doesn’t usually work out well for states. You’d think California citizens would hold their leaders to a high standard. But too many of those who do have already moved to Texas.

So since California is a border state and now a self Proclaimed Sanctuary State, doesn't that mean to step one foot over the border from Mexico into California is to step directly into Sanctuary.... the same thing as an open border?

Short of a military takeover, I think it only appropriate for the Federal Government to withhold any all revenue payments to a governing body that does not enforce duly passed laws. Also, those State government officials who voted to approve this action should be charged with aiding and abetting for every infraction this action creates a violation of law. This would be true of citizens, why should it not be true of its elected representatives.

The problem with California now which the far left liberal democratic party has insured would happen, is that we now have more people who "Vote for a living, rather than work for a living". They vote for everything our Government puts up on the ballot that will give them more "free" services and benefits. California is lost. I know the books here have been "cooked" for so long that no one really knows just how far in debt our state is...but when some of it actually does leak out, the media just blows that off like everything else here.

I am stuck living in this living hell that used to truly be the Golden state. Thanks to Jerry Brown and the leftists, this state is past the point of turning it around. California is circling the tank.
