Georgia Trend magazine, which has consistently named him one of its Most Influential Georgians, calls him “a highly visible and well-respected presence in Washington,” and says he “has a reputation as an affable but straight-talking lawmaker.” In January 2009, Georgia Trend named Chambliss its Georgian of the Year. Chambliss is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee; the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry; the Senate Rules Committee; the Senate Special Committee on Aging; and presently serves as the vice chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

Dan Forest is the Republican nominee for the office of North Carolina Lt. Governor. He earned the Republican nomination by winning a commanding 96 of 100 counties in the July second primary election after traveling over 150,000 miles and visiting nearly all 100 counties during the campaign. Dan is a leader in the business community having served as Office President and Senior Partner of the state's largest architectural firm – Little Diversified Architectural Consulting. He holds two undergraduate degrees from UNC Charlotte and is a graduate of UNC Charlotte College of Architecture. Dan is active in his community and church and is the founder and current president of the Triangle Leadership Forum and the former chairman of the board of the Wake Forest Pregnancy Support Services. Dan also serves on the North Carolina board of the Heritage Foundation and the board of the Faith Driven Consumer. Dan and his wife, Alice, reside in Raleigh, along with their four children, ages 7 to 19.
