Your guest made an anti-Catholic comment Thursday.
If I had spent the time required to transcribe the Bible with a quill pen and on expensive parchment I'd keep it chained too. In current $ it would be worth 10's of thousands. It was not chained to limit access but theft. The use of Latin by the Church was not to restrict the reading but to allow its broader use and to prevent mistranslation.
Once the printing press allowed a more economical reproduction the Church was more than happy to spread the Good Word.

May I recommend Mr. Mickey Edwards as a guest on a future program. We could all learn from a discussion of one or both of his books: "The parties vs. the people, How to turn Reps and Dems into Americans". "Reclaiming Conservatism".
Thank you for consideration of this request. I feel it could assist ALL listeners.
