Dear Governor, My wife and I really enjoy your show. We especially enjoyed the one about healthcare alternatives to O care. You addressed most of mainstream America but not the entitlement culture that has put us in this position in the first place. Do you think THEY would comply?

Your show on 8/25 re. healthcare and the alternatives was generally very good. I applaud you for your effort.

Many of the suggestions you made are ideas heard before, many during the Obamacare debate and rejected by the Democrats out-of-hand. All of your suggestions are far better than Obamacare and some of us advocated for them all along.

One of the minor objections I have regarding many of the discussions on Obamacare is that an assumption seems often made that Obamacare was really about healthcare and health insurance costs.

It wasn't. The supporters of Obamacare do not give a whit about improving healthcare in America or making it less expensive. Obamacare is all about government control. In fact, it was intended to be unpopular and was only meant to be the first step towards fully socialized medicine in America. As the people objected to it, it becomes the excuse for evolving to more government control; never less. The liberals want socialized medicine because it gives them total control not only over a huge segment of our economy but over something extremely important to every person; their healthcare. Dependence on government bureaucrats for our existence is control over the people. Un-American for sure, but that is what the left-wing represents all of the time.

There were some things in your presentation that were over-simplifications or somewhat misleading. For example, you talked about offering a bonus for a cancer cure. Experts say that cancer is not one disease but many different diseases with different causes and different treatments/possible cures. Therefore, a cure for one type of cancer may not cure others. Those can be forgiven in the allotted timeframe of a TV special.

I will add one more comment. You gave the statistic that 75% of our lifetime healthcare costs are incurred during the last two years of life which is true. I would argue that is never likely to change much. Whether those last two years of life begin at age 45 or age 95, the costs remain. No matter how healthy our lifestyles, we will all reach the end of our days and our bodies will begin to break down. At that point, the cost of sustaining life goes up dramatically unless we decide to stop life-prolonging treatments during those years. Sane people, especially Christians, would never suggest such a thing! A healthy lifestyle may delay the onset of those costs, but ultimately they will occur.

    Govenor Huckabee,
You were right about most people in Americ die from a DEGENERATIVE DISEASE. Most people are put on a better diet when after years of a poor diet.
I have asked every Doctor and Nurse I have met one basic question about their personal nutrition. Not one person has answered the question correctly, and I am sure you can't answer it either. The main proplem about nutrition was, and is, complete nutition is not taught in schools. If you contact me I'll go into more detail...And ask you the basic question about nutrition. Ron

    Dear Mr. Huckabee,

I watched your medical program and agree 100% with you. Why are't Primary Care Docs like me polled regarding fixing the system. We are not all hustling for money. I am criticized if I take too much time but I have always treated my patients since I graduated in 1968 like I myself wanted to be treated.and it makes me sick to see and hear of shortcuts for money and the patient not treated. I am now a young 74 and still desire to practice and a doc I worked for just cut my pay to $24.02 per hour! That is the God's truth. I left and now (nothing to do with previous) if I enquire for work by sending my CV to a job search site nothing happens! My age has lost me lots of jobs despite that I am still active and very competent in Family Practice. I am at a loss to find even locums. I talked about a position with a recruiter and no further calls even when they say they will call me back! I can't find work and I am dumbfounded!
