Have you been so busy with last minute work before the Christmas break,  holiday shopping, putting up the tree and decorating the house, and all the other end-of-year activities that you missed the latest hair-on-fire OUTRAGE by the anti-Trump left?  If so, then thank God: it means you have a life.

The link will fill you in on all the pointless hysteria you missed.  It seems that a rumor ripped through the social media accounts of the perpetually-aggrieved Trump Resistance that he was planning to fire special counsel Robert Mueller, which at this point appears incredibly well-deserved.   It was only a rumor, but that was enough to spark, celebrities such as Rob Reiner and George Takei, and lesser-known leftwing alarmists to begin stocking up provisions to “take to the streets” in massive, coordinated nationwide protests, with grandiose plans to stay there, shivering in the cold but warmed by their righteous rage, until their hero Sir Robert was restored to his white horse to slay the dragon Donald!

But then, someone asked Trump if he was planning to fire Mueller.  His response:  “No, I’m not.  What, are you surprised?”  So, massive nationwide protest averted.  Until the next pointless, fake news-inspired OUTRAGE, which will probably be coming along any second now.

It’s always been the mantra of “progressives” (I put that in quotes because there’s nothing progressive about believing in a set of principles that have created nothing but misery for over a century) that everything must be politicized; there can be “no escape” from their yammering and hectoring.  They’ve used this to ruin everything from Christmas displays to the Oscarcast to the NFL.  They’re even trying to bully Taylor Swift into inflicting it on her tween fans, even though she’s honest enough to admit she has no interest in nor expertise in politics.  She was recently blasted on social media for calling 2017 her “best year ever,” which for her it probably was, just as it was awfully good for stockholders, job seekers, and anyone who cares about restoring the separation of powers and the Constitution.  But you’re not allowed to say life is good because the left thinks that Trump beating Hillary made the darkest period since the Black Death, and nobody is allowed to disagree with them.

We’re getting close to New Year’s Eve, a time when people look back at the past year, count their blessings and think about what they’ll remember about it years from now.  For most of us, 2017 brought memories both joyous and tragic, but few had anything to do with who was in the White House.  Certainly not with grieving over an election that was long past by New Year’s Eve of 2016.  No politician should have that much power over you (another reason why 63 million people preferred Trump to Hillary).  I wasn’t thrilled when Barack Obama won in 2008.  But I looked on the bright side (it was inspiring to see how far we’d come in putting racial divisions behind us – little did I know).  I braced for the worst, but hoped for the best.  And I made certain that all my first references to him from that point on read “President Obama,” because whoever holds the office deserves courtesy and respect.  I never would imagine saying someone “isn’t my President” just because I didn’t vote for him.

The honest truth is, if these perpetually-outraged Trumpophobics weren’t so annoying, and doing so much damage to this nation and to their own children, I’d feel sorry for them.  A diet of poison isn’t good for anyone.  Shutting out all your friends except those who share your most negative trait isn’t healthy.  And imagine how small your life would feel if, years from now, you looked back at 2017 and realized that while you could have been doing all sorts of amazing things, you wasted the entire year stuck in a pit of your own anger, reliving 2016 over and over again in your head.

My Christmas wish is that all the loud mouths who promised to leave this fabulous country if Trump was elected would make good on their promises and LEAVE! We don't need your poisonous mouths and hearts in the USA! Please go to Iran or Iraq or Afghanistan or better yet North Korea! Take your hateful views and let someone else listen to them because I am sick of you! My Mother taught me that if you can't say something nice, keep your mouth shut! Please please keep the promise you made and exit stage left!

Now that the tax cut and jobs bill is as good as done it is time to consider what next.
I would like to see us tackle both immigration and infrastructure at the same time. They are slightly related.
Our inner cities are a terrible result of years if Democratic neglect. I believe that FDR had a great idea with the WPA and CCC. We have a number of welfare recipients, unemployed and under employed that I believe could be rallied into a corps of workers to revitalize our inner cities. Those citizens deserve decent dwellings, schools, shopping areas, parks and medical facilities. With those in place then I believe small to medium manufacturing will relocate to those areas providing training and jobs for the inhabitants.
We have seen time after time that our rail system is decaying and unsafe for either passengers and freight. A decent high speed rail system extends our urban areas out to the burbs reducing the sheer density of people.
Thanks for your efforts and for raising a terrific daughter. She's perfect in her job!

I love reading your commentaries because they are so right on--dotted with your sense of humor. The left has so much "news" messed up now that it is hard to sometimes know what to believe. As the months go by, I become more and more convinced that God appointed Donald Trump to be our President. Thank you Mike for giving us the real news and standing by our President.

I find it amusing that the "progressives" are being eaten alive by their own hatred. Justice will be done during President Trump's watch - we all need to pray for him and his family of true, well-meaning Americans. And for black America, he has done more for those citizens in one year than his predecessor did for them in 8 years, and he will be the agent of healing if given the chance.

Beautifully expressed, Mike. Your reaction to President Obama's election was exactly like mine. I would sure like to see you on the ticket next election.

Mike, thank you for bringing clarity to the issues of our day. The enemy of our souls makes things fuzzy! He confuses the issues in order to deceive us. I miss your TV program. We saw you in person in NYC. Michael W. Smith was your special guest that day and your wife was there, too.

A conservative radio host in the DFW area, Rick Roberts, said yesterday that the "feminist movement" is now calling itself the "women's movement." He said that their tactic is this: by dropping the title of "feminism" they are attempting to lead people to think that their women's movement speaks for all women. Dangerously clever.

Is there a possibility that Robert Mueller's inquisition will have any serious blowback on the Clintons and the Obamas?

Thank you again. Your service to the Lord and to our country is admired by many.

    Dear Governor,

The election to those in Hollywood and environs has infected the would be “political experts” with something resembling the Black Death. The good thing is that they are so rediculous one has to find humor in it. It is positively clownish. I do wish our President could see the humor in it a bit more. If he laughed at them and came up with some humorous witticisms, it would be far more effective than angry tweets.

As to President Obama: I, too did not vote for him, but like you, when he was elected I thought how unifying he could be. I thought that African Americans would see this as telling them they could aspire to anything. Unfortunately, he was the most racially divisive President in my lifetime. As I write, Sarah is on the TV. What a Gal! She is a woman I would love to meet. Would that our politicians handled them selves as well.

it seems to me the only people denied freedom of speech are those who don't agree with the current trend or look at the world through a different set of political correctness.
Keep telling us the truth...God bless.

Social media has made it so easy to spread rumors or lies. Here are to quotes that are so true today. "If you want the truth to go round the world, you must hire an express train to pull it; but if you want a lie to go round the world it will fly; it is as light as a feather and a breath will carry it." (Charles Spurgeon 1834-1892) "A lie is like a snowball; the further you roll it the bigger it becomes." (Martin Luther) Keep up the good work Mr. Huckabee, for God knows how much the truth needs to get out.

    It’s time to fire Mueller.
It’s time to fire those in congress who are provoking people to turn against President Trump instead of doing their jobs. It’s time to fire the slanderous media who are completely biased against our President. It’s time for the people of The United States to take action against all of the above. I would encourage all U.S. citizens to write their congressional leaders to tell them to back off from what politically good for them and start doing what is right for the country and the people or risk being voted out of office.
It’s time to boycott the biased media to show them that it Is not their job to shape public opinion but only to give accurate unbiased accounts of the news. It’s time to call for enforcement of the Constitution and laws and policies of this nation instead of making political deals under the table. It’s time to shut down political lobbiest efforts by changing the law to reflect that corporations are not legally persons with regards to politics. In other words they should not be allowed to contribute money to politicians campaigns or influence congress in any way.
I am thouroughly disgusted and embarrassed by the status of the congress, the media, corporations who interfere by taking on the role of people in politics. But most of the people of the U.S. who have stood by and allowed our country to denegrate to the state it is in today. We need President Trump to get this country back to the way it was designed to operate by our Founding Fathers.

As if we needed it, this article is more proof of the brainwashing that has taken place in our schools and colleges since the '70's. When so-called big shots fall for the ludicrous lies of the left, when they refuse to listen to reason or actually think for themselves, they scream, prepare to riot, and always end up looking like the fools they are. If even one of them would read Alinsky's "Rules For Radicals", they would see how they have been manipulated into believing the worst and becoming the worst citizens on the planet!

If I wasn't a christian, I would be seriously worried about the human race as a whole, after all the mass hysteria this past year. That being said, I pray for our President and I remind myself "if God be for him, who can be against him?"...

I actually do feel sorry for those who have such negative thoughts that they make their own life completely miserable. We have a people who have turned completely away from God and have allowed their hearts to be so encrusted that happiness through God and His Son Jesus are completely rejected and absolutely hated. How dark their world must be. And the worst thing is whom they have given their life over to. Jesus said you either are of your Father God or your Father Satan. There is no middle of the road. I am like you in that I was not pleased to have Obama as president, and although I may not have shown him as much respect as you did, he was still President of the United States. That is the difference between a believer in Jesus and one who is not. We, as Christians, know we are not perfect, we do things we know we shouldn't do, but God forgives us when we come to Him asking for forgiveness and we have hope through Him that no matter who is President God is still in control and all things will be done according to His will. That hope is what delivers us from the despair that those who don't know Jesus as Savior will never know. That is what makes me feel sorry for all those who rail so much against President Trump. I really do pray for them. I have a hope for them. Oh yes, they make me angry with the things they do and say, but I do pray for them and I feel sorry for them.

Thank you for putting voice to my thoughts.
I am truly exhausted by the politicizing of everything, and the venom and hatred of all.
I miss community. I miss taking care of each other. I miss it being about others and not self.
