Those of us who watched Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony last Thursday (um, that would be all of us) were frustrated to no end by the dispassionate, methodical and seemingly confined manner of questioning used by Rachel Mitchell, who heads the Special Victims Division of the Maricopa County attorney’s office.  But while her questioning set off no fireworks in the room, she did come up with some conclusions that validate many of our conclusions.

In a memo to Senate Republicans on Sunday, she wrote, “A ‘he said, she said’ case is incredibly difficult to prove.  But this case is even weaker than that.”

She offered nine points to support her conclusion.  We’ve already discussed most of them here.  But I’d like to call attention to the last two on her list.

8.  Dr. Ford’s description of the psychological impact of the event raises questions.

9.  The activities of congressional Democrats and Dr. Ford’s attorney’s likely affected Dr. Ford’s account.

These two factors are the ones that seem most affected by the political context of Dr. Ford’s accusation.  That would especially apply to #9, which is why Sen. Lindsay Graham has called for an investigation of those suspicious activities.  Dr. Ford was obviously used by the Democrats and forced by their deception into a three-ring circus when it was thought her last-minute testimony would bring down Judge Kavanaugh.  Let’s hope enough people can see through this tactic, as Ms. Mitchell apparently has, to discredit the whole shameful episode.

Ms. Mitchell was speaking from a legal standpoint about what it would take to bring a case, finding Ms. Ford’s case lacking.  Democrats will say (once again) that this wasn’t a trial, it was a job interview.  But let me ask the men:  How many job interviews have you sat for in which you were put under oath and asked if, as a teenager, you’d ever tried to rape someone?

What was the purpose of the Rachel Mitchell’s interrogation? What is the result of it beyond her opinion report of the interrogation? What happened to Senator Graham’s referral for investigation? The Senate must put a stop to the Democrats harassment of Justice Kavanaugh. Perhaps the DOJ?

I am a 65 yo woman still working full time as a registered nurse in a medical center. I was angry over this hearing, but it was righteous indignation. When Judge Kavanaugh made his opening statement what I saw in him was righteous indignation. He was defending his name, his credibility, and his family. I thought he was very appropriate and on target with everything he said. There was such a double standard with the two cases. Even though Dr Ford is an adult and a professional in psychology she was handled with kid gloves. As opposed to Judge Kavanaugh being shredded by the Democratic representatives. I doubted her authenticity early on just because she was seeming so fragile. I just expect someone with a psychology degree to be tougher because of the nature of their professional. I want Judge Kavanaugh to be appointed because he is more than qualified. I would love to have him fill the position because he will uphold the Constitution! My prayer is that he will be appointed.

I feel that the senators and reps., in congress should be checked on. I have seen this before, how many have bankrupsies, all kinds of things they have done that were not proper. I remember "rape" cases too. Didn't the tax payers payout millions of dollars to pay off women? These congressmen are "high and mighty", how can they be so aregiant, they have a pretty cushy job too. You could put all these names on Facebook, and your show this week, any other places, of course the fake news people always turn a blind eye. thanks

Thank you for your great efforts to keep the public advised on the current chaos over Judge Kavanaugh's confirmation. Such a terrible travesty of justice, but I believe truth will prevail! Wonder when the far leftest rioting will start, though? Thank you also, for the scripture that you include at the end of your articles. That helps restore the peace that we all need :)

Good evaluation, Mike. I was in law enforcement in Maricopa County for 30 years. Part of that time, I was a sex crimes investigator and for the final 5 1/2 years I was an investigator with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office. Rachel Mitchell is an outstanding prosecutor. I worked with her and knew her personally. She is not only a great prosecutor, but a genuinely great person. I am now living in Montana and when I heard she had been selected as the person to question the accuser, I told my circle of friends they could not have found a better person to do the questioning.

Where do I begin? This is a political smear, ploy, and sham by the Democrats to keep Judge Kavanaugh from getting elected.
They have set up Go Fund Me Accounts for her. Feinstein and her little army sought Ford out and used her. This was all manipulated and a plan to take down this wonderful man. They will do it agin if he is not elected.George Soros is funding these protest groups. They are trained in what to say and do. The women that were involved in accosting Flake and McConnell are part of a nonprofit calledCenter for Popular Democracy and George Soros gave the funding. He is responsible for all of these protests over the years.
George Soros hates America, Religion, and wants to destroy it. We better wake up. There are Republicans that are so owned by special interest groups along with the Dems. American people need to speak up.Now. If we let them get away with this our sons and grandsons will be facing these same charges. We have to get angry and vote these traitors out. All of them. I can’t bear to see this beautiful country destroyed by all this evil... We need God and prayers.

Ford clearly knows how to act, observing the actions of others is her business. Also a dramatic change in appearance from her two question "polygraph" during the summer. Carefully crafted vague answers to avoid perjury and nodding in the affirmative when told the individuals she said were present could not recall any such event. Noticed her eyes darted up to the committee when questions got a little dicey because thats where the answers were. Also noticed her lawyer, (and why does she need a lawyer?) nodding in the affirmative as she answered questions as if she was doing just as they had rehearsed. We really need an investigation into this whole thing including not just Ford but whomever else was involved in creating this slanderous charade. And that, I believe will lead right up to Feinstein's office and likey to Schumer and others. Slandering an innocent man is a crime against him, his wife, and his children, even worse that which Ford has alleged.

Governor Huckabee, I too, agree with Wanda Barrett today. What was in the white envelope which Sheila J. Lee handed to Ford's attorney at the end, then she high-tailed it out?

    10/02/2018 06:28 PM

I was very angry with Ms. Mitchell's line of questioning. But her report was right on the mark I felt. Anyone should see that this whole 11th hour foolishness was only a stall tactic and that these fools so desperately don't won't Jude Kanavaugh on the supreme court because they see that it will swing the advantage to conservatives. And the bottom is democrats wanting to make sure abortion (the murdering of the unborn) is kept legal and not to be tampered with. It sickens me to see what this good man and his family is being put through. And further more Ford is the sacrifice these democrats are using to try and bring this nominee down. they could care less about this lady's privacy. They used her to say the least. Shameful behavior. I hope and pray these people are held accountable and the voters get these people out of office.

the whole thing reeked from day one and the more we peel back in layers the more rotten it gets. this report should be the basis for a vote. Time to expose the dems and let the voters decide what to do. Difi and Kamala should be removed. Corey definitely. The corruption in that committee along is enough to choke a horse.

The Democratic Party is truly the party of HATE and EVIL. What is wrong with these people? I am an “Independent” on the moderate to conservative side. I swear I will NEVER vote for another democrat again for as long as I live.

California Republicans may want to consider their vote for the US Senate carefully. While we [I am one] may be more inclined to vote for Feinstein, or not vote at all, her behavior viz. Kavanaugh may warrant voting for her Democrat competitor [a left wing Democrat] just to let other Democrats know that sleazy hyper-partisan behavior is just not acceptable.

I think Ms. Mitchell did the BEST she could so she wouldn't appear BIASED. So for that I'm thankful. Do I think she should have been TOUGHER, sure, but then SHE would be the BULLY. I was really happy to hear Mitchell point out that the GOP had attempted to come to come to her (Ford). I do believe that Ms. Ford is NOTHING MORE than a PAWN for the DEMS. no matter what her attorney's say. As far as the DEMS go, their going to WHINE, CRY, and GRIPE, PERIOD..

I am for Kavanaugh 100%. I have never heard such awful stuff. I feel for his family.
I am for Trump even though he has some vices that I do not like. I do think he is working hard for our country. If we only knew the truth about the others!!!!!! I am still impressed with your daughter. Classy Lady

I don't double that Dr. Ford was sexually assaulted in her youth by someone. But what is sad is that she as a Psychiatrist she herself had gone through treatment but has yet dealt with this issue. Also I vote to confirm the Judge. What took place last Thursday was a ploy for the Democrats to delay the confirmation until after the midterm elections. It is terrible that many lives have been ripped apart because of this game the Democrats are playing.

It seems I keep repeating the same thing over and over... There are very few democrats left in this country.. Socialism/communism are virtually the same ideology.. Why is it that Helory wrote her thesis on the "RULES FOR RADICALS?" Bill, Helory, barack & michelle WERE ALL LAWYERS who have lost their law credentials and are NO LONGER lawyers, because of UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR.
And this country voted them all into office???? If the elections are not rigged, that is a sad commentary on the USA... It is not the Democrat Party anymore.. (HST is turning over in his grave.) But the Socialist/Communist Party of the United States... Remember, 250 of their members showed up in Philadelphia to protest Mr Trump and the Republican Convention.. And there are several Socialist/Communists in the Republican Party also... Mr McCain was a Manchurian candidate...... Thank you for all you do Mr Huckabee... and you did a great job raising Sarah..........

I have to say that I was not frustrated by Rachel Mitchell's questioning but very thankful for it. Dr. Ford was being abused by the Democrats to justify their negative confirmation vote to their constituents. I'm very glad, for Dr. Ford's sake, that the Republicans kept a very controlled, gentle questioning that was still able to show all the weaknesses in her testimony. It is an extremely difficult thing to do what Dr. Ford did. She was already extremely tense in putting her vulnerabilities out in public without having her emotions elevated by tough questioning that would not have gotten anywhere.

I cannot forget that when two women assaulted by Bill Clinton, Paula Jones and Juanita Broderick, came forward with their allegations, Democrats and the press responded without compassion. Both accusers had evidence; both accusers had corroboration. Their accusations were entirely credible. However, they suffered the most humiliating and insulting assaults on their integrity and their honesty. They were labeled as bimbos and liars. There was no FBI investigation. Basically, the matter was swept under the rug, kept out of the public eye. Bill Clinton was not paraded in front of the nation on live TV, put in a position where he must defend himself. The painful double standard here is just one more example of the corruption that has befallen this country.

The GOP Senators do not think the voters see their complicity in the Democrat efforts to destroy Cavanaugh's credibility. The Republicans have no idea how to handle the unruly Dimms. Defend Cavanaugh and hold the vote. Can't let The Rhino Club ruin the whole process.

It is enough already. Trump is distancing himself from Kavanaugh. Trump's strategy, if any, is incomprehensible. I am more than willing to sit out the mid-terms on Kavanaugh's behalf. There is nothing to lose. The Republicans are worthless, and Congress is already run by the Democrats.

What Trump has allowed to happen to Brett Kavanaugh is heinous. Brett Kavanaugh is being publicly eviscerated. Trump and Congress have committed unforgivable crimes against his humanity.
