Today's Commentary --- NAFTA replaced with new deal -- Kellyanne Conway says she was sexually assaulted: one woman responds -- Sickening cartoon -- Due Process For Me, But Not For Thee -- Today’s “Fake News” Item -- One year ago -- Evening Edition - Daily Verse

Despite his tough talk about Canada last week (or maybe because of it - Art of the Deal!), President Trump has reached an agreement with Canada to create a new trilateral trade agreement with Mexico, replacing NAFTA with a free trade treaty that’s more advantageous to the United States. This fulfills another one of Trump’s signature campaign promises, one that his critics claimed he wasn’t serious about and would never accomplish (or would crash the economy trying to accomplish).  To make it even more head-explodingly infuriating for Never Trumpers, his top advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner, whom they love to sneer at, reportedly was instrumental in keeping the talks going with Canada and securing the deal.

This new deal is called the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement or “USMCA.”  Among its provisions: Canada will open its milk market to US farmers, Trump’s auto tariffs won’t apply to cars made in Mexico or Canada, and more car and truck parts will be made in North America.  It will also be interesting to hear liberals come up with some way to denounce a deal that makes sure most auto workers earn at least $16 an hour (three times the current going wage in Mexico), improves labor and environmental rights, strengthens intellectual property protections and makes it harder for investors to fight government decisions in Canada and Mexico.  But I have faith that they’ll find something to whine about. They always do.

Kellyanne Conway says she was sexually assaulted: one woman responds

By Laura Ainsworth, Staff writer

In an interview with Jake Tapper on Sunday’s CNN “State Of The Union” show, White House advisor Kellyanne Conway mentioned that she herself had experienced sexual assault.  She’s referred to sexually compromising incidents before, but not in the context of the current allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.  Since I am, in fact, a woman –- of this I’m “100 percent sure” –- and have been discussing the Kavanaugh confirmation process in the forum graciously provided by Gov. Huckabee, I’d like to offer a few thoughts.

Sickening cartoon

By Mike Huckabee

Remember the Obama maxim for the left, that “when they go low, we go high”?  Can we all now finally agree that that’s complete garbage, having seen them in the past week go lower and lower, until they reach this editorial cartoon that proves they've gone lower than an earthworm in a limbo contest.

Due Process For Me, But Not For Thee:

By Mike Huckabee

Rep. Maxine Waters is outraged over a story that some edits on Wikipedia that deliberately exposed the home addresses of Republican Senators were traced to someone in her office.  On Saturday, she put out this statement:

“Lies, lies, and more despicable lies. I am utterly disgusted by the spread of the completely false, absurd, and dangerous lies and conspiracy theories that are being pedaled by ultra-right wing pundits, outlets, and websites who are promoting a fraudulent claim that a member of my staff was responsible for the release of the personal information of Members of the United States Senate on Wikipedia. This unfounded allegation is completely false and an absolute lie.”

As you can imagine, this got a chorus of horse laughs on Twitter.  The responses practically wrote themselves:  Wait, so now people are innocent until proven guilty again, or is that just for your staff?  Whatever happened to “We must believe the accuser”?  And doesn’t that furious response to being falsely accused prove that Maxine doesn’t have the temperament to be a member of Congress?

Of course, they’re not really serious about that.  Maxine Waters proved she doesn't have the temperament to be a member of Congress long ago.

Today’s “Fake News” Item:

By Mike Huckabee

“Journalists” from such outlets as the Nation, MSNBC, the Washington Post, Vox and others retweeted a claim that Senate Republicans pulled the female prosecutor after she determined that Brett Kavanaugh was lying.  The story was attributed to the Wall Street Journal, but none of the “professional journalists” who retweeted it bothered to check that.  It was a completely fake story that never ran in the WSJ.  I guess it was just too good to waste time checking to see if was true.  That seems to be a recurring theme in a lot of Brett Kavanaugh news.

One year ago

By Mike Huckabee

Today (October 1st) marks the one-year anniversary of the deadly shooting in Las Vegas, the worst mass shooting in US history, where a sniper firing from the windows of the Mandalay Bay Hotel killed 58 people at a country music concert below before turning his gun on himself.

Tonight will bring the rarest of sights, when the blinding marquees along the Las Vegas Strip will be dimmed at 10:01 p.m. to mark the exact moment the shooting began.  But even after a year of investigations, there is still no explanation for why the killer did it, and authorities admit that there likely never will be.  There can be no rational explanation for inexplicable evil, although the first step would be to admit that evil really does exist.  One year ago, we got irrefutable proof of that.

Mike, here is a comment from PJ Bennett a friend f mine on Facebook. This is a great comment on what is happening in Congress. And believe me, she pulls no punches.
I am going to apologize to my FB friends here.
You know, I do try to stay away from politics and just keep things light and about music. About loving one another, and about finding peace and encouraging us all to come together with music.
This week has been a tough week for me personally.
I have strong political beliefs that I try to keep to myself. And for the most part, I do keep them to myself.
I do not talk about things that are very personal, but I will share with you today, that I am a survivor of sexual assault. As a child, and as an adult.
For me, what is happening for political agenda, has stirred up a lot of pain within me. A lot of memories that flood in about what I have been through, and why I did not come forward when it did.
People think this #metoo movement is helping the situation?
They think that saying, "believe all women" is helping us?
No. It's not. WHY? because women are using this in ways that do not even support actual rape or assault. Not to mention it's a politically motivated group.
When people claim assault is as simple as someone brushes up against you, or touches your shoulder. Sorry... that's not assault. Or when they say, "he raped me with his eyes".
Those are just two disgusting, and embarrassing comments made by feminists who spew hate against men in general.
False accusations have happened for decades. Ask the innocent men who are serving time in prison. Or men who were falsely accused and their reputations destroyed.
There are plenty of REAL VICTIMS of sexual assault who will not come forward because of fear of things like the media circus that is happening right now.
This is political. It's not about a victim. ANYONE with a brain can see it for what it is.
As a TRUE VICTIM of molestation, and of rape. I sit here in tears because I know more and more women will NOT be believed or heard, because of the political bullshit that has devoured out morals and ethics.
When I see a leftist TV show mocking the situation as HUMOR.
    I cried.
When I see the left took a confidential complaint, sat on it until the right political moment, then released it to the media? I thought, where is the moral compass of our society! And the fact that I see every leftist, feminist, etc supporting this as good behavior? I want to vomit.
Do I think the right is not at any fault? No. I know that politics is played on both sides, and no one cares who's lives are destroyed.
Ask the Clintons about Bill's rape victim, and sexual assault victims, how the Clintons threatened them, publicly humiliated them, and told people not to listen to those victims.
Ask why the dems refuse to listen to the assault victim ex girlfriend of their beloved colleague, Keith Ellison, where not only does she have photos, but she has Doctor reports, therapy reports, police reports etc, and NOT ONE DEMOCRAT and NOT ONE FEMINIST and NOT ONE #METOO movement person has stepped up on her behalf.
If you spew you want every woman to be heard, then hear them all!
Here I am, a sexual assault survivor, coming out on behalf of those who are falsely accused. THAT ought to tell you how skewed I think this politically motivated #metoo movement is.
Sickening to use victims for agenda. SICKENING.
I literally have felt frozen emotionally this week, as I watch the circus, the hate, the hunt.
Do you not realize that you are not helping true victims? You are hindering us from being believable! STOP THIS.
Or no one will ever believe us again.
My personal experiences, I can not go into detail about, but I will say this. When I have to explain it to someone. I can tell you almost every detail, enough for you to know without a doubt what happened. Even the details from my own memories as a child of only 7 years old! Which, by the way, was 41 years ago.
I'd also like to note that there are many men who do not come forward when they are abused, assaulted, raped, or molested by women or men.
Because Our society.... still focuses on this as a "WOMEN'S ISSUE"
Let that sink in to all the "progressives" who ignore that.
