December is finally here, and I have an early Christmas gift for you: a brand new episode of “Huckabee” tonight on TBN! Sen. Mike Lee will drop by to talk criminal justice reform. Oregon Judge Vance Day will reveal the surprise ending to his felony trial that he claims was really an attempt to destroy him for his belief in traditional marriage. You’ll meet a Huck’s Hero who embodies the word “caregiver.” But you’ll also laugh yourself silly at the comedy songs of Paul Aldrich, and catch up on some goofy news “In Case You Missed It.” I’ll have some personal commentaries along the way. Then top it all off with a visit and some great music from Rory Feek of the beloved country duo, Joey + Rory.
We’ll start unwrapping it all tonight at 8 and 11 EST, 7 and 10 CST, repeated the same times on Sunday, only on TBN. To find the channel in your local area and to stream previous episodes of “Huckabee,” visit https://www.tbn.org/programs/huckabee

Surprisingly, some of the most extensive coverage on the life and legacy of former President George H.W. Bush is in the British paper, the Daily Mail. Click the link for their obituary, which includes an absolutely amazing collection of photos from a remarkable American life.

In a miraculous turn of events, the 7.0 earthquake that struck the Anchorage, Alaska, area Friday morning (followed by aftershocks of up to 5.0) appears to have claimed no lives, and there were no reports of any major building collapses. However, there is extensive damage to homes and infrastructure. Roads were lifted up and broken to pieces, power is out in some places, and bridges, gas lines and other infrastructure will have to be assessed for damage. In case you’re wondering, while this is extreme, it’s not unusual: Alaska averages 40,000 earthquakes a year, with more large ones than all the other states combined.
There’s more information about the earthquake here:
And yes, Sarah Palin’s home was among those damaged, but fortunately, she and her family were unharmed.

The Marines’ annual Toys For Tots toy drive is underway, and despite it being a great year for the economy and job creation, for some reason, donations are lagging behind. Corporate donations are running below last year’s, and there is concern that they won’t reach the supply of toys needed to make sure poor children have gifts this Christmas. With Christmas just 24 days away, time is short and the pressure is on. I hope you’ll make a donation today to help them out.
For more information and to make a donation right now, visit www.toysfortots.org.
FYI: Toys For Tots is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, so monetary donations are tax deductible. And it’s a top-rated charity: 97% of donations go to provide toys, books and gifts to less fortunate children. The other 3% covers support costs. From their website: “Not one donated dollar goes to pay for salaries or any other manpower costs.” That’s right, there are no overpaid executives with their hands in the till; Toys For Tots is run by volunteers doing their all to make sure Christmas is merry for every child. Please join them to make that happen again this year.

If you stayed at a Marriott Hotels Starwood property in recent years, you might want to read this story about how hackers obtained personal information on up to 500 million customers. Marriott hasn’t been very clear yet on exactly how bad it is or what to do about it, but be forewarned and ready to take whatever action is necessary to protect yourself as soon as we know more.

Yet another federal judge, this time in New York, has ruled unconstitutional President Trump’s policy of denying federal grant funds to “sanctuary cities” that refuse to obey federal immigration law or cooperate with ICE. Let’s hope the Supreme Court will deal with this and quickly, since we now have federal judges not only trying to usurp power over immigration and border security policies, but also ruling that we have to keep shoveling our tax money to local authorities who are in open rebellion against the federal government and allowing criminals to go free to rob, rape and murder the very same Americans who are paying the taxes to provide their grants. Let’s hope the Supreme Court sees that this is as crazy as a judge in 1863 ordering President Lincoln to keep sending federal money to the Confederate states.
Of course, we’ve also learned that even being slapped down by the SCOTUS for their blatant overreach of power doesn’t stop some federal judges from doing it again and again. Solving that problem won’t take a change in policy, it will take a lot of changes in judges. With a new 53-seat majority for the next two years, let’s hope the President and Senate make a big dent in fixing that problem.

Say, American workers: when you voted for Donald Trump because he promised to renegotiate and replace job-killing trade deals like NAFTA, remember how Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) said it was just a phony campaign promise? Well, Friday, Trump and the leaders of Canada and Mexico signed the new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement to replace NAFTA.
Too bad more Americans didn’t remember that during the last election because the deal now has to be ratified by the legislatures in all three nations and Nancy Pelosi is already threatening to kill it by demanding changes or it won’t pass the newly-elected Democratic House. If we still have NAFTA two years from now, I hope working class voters will remember this for the 2020 election. More details at the link.

Fake News Friday, or “Your Tax Dollars At Work”: NPR was forced to issue a detailed correction after falsely reporting that Donald Trump Jr. might be in legal jeopardy for lying to Congress. Don Jr. tweeted that he figures that’s as close as he’ll get to an apology from NPR and suggested that they leave the rushing-to-publish phony “gotcha” bombshells business to CNN.
As of the writing of the story at this link, a couple of top Democratic politicians still hadn’t deleted their tweets attacking Trump based on the incorrect NPR story. I say if they don’t delete and apologize, they should be forced to give back their entire collections of PBS tote bags.

I’d hope everyone would have learned by now not to believe that “one vote” doesn’t make a difference. But just in case: Friday in Alaska, a long, careful recount in a US House race showed that Republican Bart LeBon beat Democrat Kathryn Dodge by one vote. If LeBon’s win is certified, Alaska will become a single-party state, with Republicans holding the House, Senate and Governor’s seat.
But the real finale to this will likely have to wait even longer because LeBon expects the Democrats to file a legal challenge to the vote process because…hey, they’re Democrats.

Another great thing about capitalism: the power of the purse is in the hands of the consumer. For all their money and arrogance, the limousine leftists of Silicon Valley are getting some painful lessons in the consequences of thinking they have the power to silence anyone who disagrees with them. All it took was talk of a potential boycott by conservatives over Twitter banning voices on the right for Twitter shares to plummet 6 percent on Thursday. The stock recovered a bit on Friday, but it’s still worth about two-thirds of what it was in July.
One analyst insisted that the talk of conservatives leaving Twitter is “overly alarmist,” that this is “no big deal,” and the stock drop should be seen as a buying opportunity. I hope he’s right: I’d love to see someone who respects freedom of speech seize the opportunity to buy Twitter.

First, the PC warriors told us our iPhones were sexist, then that air conditioning was sexist. Now we discover that McDonald’s Happy Meals are sexist. I have a feeling that railing against Happy Meals is the closest these people ever come to happiness.

When the late Ed Koch was mayor of New York City, he used to ask constituents, “How’m I doin’?!” Current far-left Mayor and Destructor of the Giuliani Resuscitation of the Big Apple, Bill DeBlasio, should not adopt Koch’s habit. He probably wouldn’t enjoy hearing how New Yorkers think he’s doin’. Case in point: you know you’re really unpopular when you get lustily booed by the crowd for lighting the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree.
