Despite former (repeat: FORMER) Secretary of State John Kerry’s intense and highly inappropriate efforts to save Obama’s ill-advised Iran deal and preserve Obama’s damaging legacy, President Trump has fulfilled a campaign promise to step away from the deal, outlining a 90-day window for working out details with allies and re-instigating sanctions on Iran.

The hope is that we will end up with a better deal; it could hardly be worse. Right now, Iran’s leadership has its fist in the air, saying Trump’s withdrawal is “illegal and illegitimate,” and that was entirely predictable. (Of course, they always have their fist in the air when it comes to America.) The deal as negotiated by Obama offered no provisions for pulling out, and that in itself testifies to how ridiculously bad a deal it was. But since Obama entered into it without having it ratified as a treaty, Trump has the authority to pull out.

The terms were to the Iranians’ immense advantage, with no rules against their pursuit of long-range ballistic missiles and only a short-term ban on their pursuit of nuclear weapons. Restrictions were to end in 2025 –- just 7 years from now. Do you know how long 7 years is in their strategy to wipe out the nation of Israel (“the Little Satan”) and destroy the West (“the Great Satan”)? A nanosecond.

Iran also got a lot of money early on, $150 billion in the form of unfrozen assets and more in the form of secretly-shipped cash, a gift from President Obama, but there’s nothing to be done about that now. No doubt it quickly disappeared into the pockets of Iranian leaders, weapons dealers and/or the families of terrorist martyrs.

Trump is signaling that we now operate from a position of strength and are unwilling to go along with a bad deal in the interest of “peace.” In the long run, the deal would not have been conducive to peace --- only to the illusion of peace, comforting to some until the Iranians let fly their first atomic bomb.

Trump’s announcement also sends a message to Kim Jong-Un, as he works to facilitate negotiations on the Korean peninsula, including the release and homecoming of three U.S. prisoners and even a possible end of the Korea War.

Yes, there’s a certain amount of discomfort among some of our allies –- and certainly our mainstream media and political enemies, but I repeat myself –- associated with shaking things up this way. Sen. Chuck Schumer did not support the deal when it was voted on as a resolution, yet he's critical of Trump's actions today. Obama has also fired back, with a three-page statement insisting the deal is working and is in America’s interest; never mind that it defies common sense how this deal could have furthered the interest of peace long-term. The process of extricating ourselves from this bad deal isn’t easy, or it would have already taken place. Obama holdovers at the State Department aren’t happy, either; in fact, it’s been reported that some are threatening to resign. Considering the problems being caused by Obama holdovers at State, I don’t see how that could be a bad thing.

The Obama holdovers in the State Dept. are threatening to resign? Promises, promises! Don't let the door hit you in the fanny on the way out!! Please feel free!

Assuming that Mr Obama is intelligent, I see only one reason for him to make his Iran deal.
He must understand that the deal allows Iran to continue their nuclear weapons program. So, he must be in favor of Iran "fundamentally changing" America. America would be a puppet of Iran, if not destroyed completely, and Israel WOULD be destroyed completely.

Governor, I had no doubt that POTUS would pull out of the Iran deal. When I served in the Air Force, the long standing policy was that we would never negotiate with terrorists...period. Too many Americans and others worldwide simply don't realize that Iran is the biggest sponsor of international terrorism. They would like nothing better than to nuke Israel and the United States.

I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but I do know that that rediculous shipment of cash was very weird. But Mr. Obama’s could pretty much do anything he wanted. If anyone disagreed they would have been characterized as racist.

For example if this fine, very experienced, woman had been nominated by O to be CIA Chief, she would have been confirmed in a nanosecond. I can not belive the way those do nothing libs spoke to her at the hearing. They implied that she was unethical, immoral, and worst of all, a Trump appointee. Here is a woman, who has given her life to this country and she gets vilified. The fact that her fellow CIA folks are so accepting of her should carry a profound message and they are pretty hard nosed people. This hearing should be a slam dunk, but nooooo, anyone nominated by this president is on the bad list automatically. They simply cannot get over the HC loss. Not one ounce of credit does Mr. Trump get from the main stream press. You can bet they will find something suspicious about the release of the young men from N. Korea today, or give credit to someone else. If this weren’t so sad it would be laughable.

In listening to Rush Limbaugh on radio today, he said the Iran Document/Agreement was never signed by Iran. They were never "bound" to the agreement.

What a load of nonsense. If your goal was to churn out more lightweight partisan garbage, consider this to be Mission Accomplished. Since you're in Israel, have you actually spoken to many people in the national security bureaucracy? No, not the political hacks but the real specialists who are on the front lines. There's no shortage of excellent analysis in the Israeli press and I encourage you to read it. Unfortunately, you and that clueless press secretary fronting for the WH just keep churning out crapola with no real interest or understanding of facts and context. BTW, that heavyweight harridan with the sad sack puss really is over her head. Maybe you need to order up a few Happy Meals before she takes the podium. That might bring a smile to that ugmo's face.

I applaud President Trump for pulling out of this " agreement". Is it true that Iran never signed this agreement? If so what would have held Iran accountable? Seem to me this was quite a sham and I have to wonder what behind the scenes benefits came to those involve in making this " agreement" . All this less than forthright and highly convoluted behavior really seems like treason to me. It did not go through congressional approval process, large sum of money exchanged that very well could have gone toward terrorism- totally not implemented with the best interest of the USA in mind.

No, Bonnie, you are not the only one who remembers. Unfortunately the teachers of today teach only the history that the liberal agenda feels is fit to reveal. Therefore our children and grandchildren will not learn the truth of history, only a varnished shined up sort that passes muster for the little snowflakes. We all need to keep vigil on the education of our own.

One other thing, just how did Obama get plane loads of cash totaling over 150 billion, with nothing in return, when Trump can't get 20 billion for a wall, that Americans would approve by popular vote, with bipartisan support? ALL DC politicians are disconnected from reality. DC needs to be DC'ed, De-Centralized. We would love to have a federal government agency here in Allegany County, NY, you know, the poorest county in NY, the one that Adolf Cuomo has never been to.

The Europeans are objecting as if that should mean something. Since Napoleon have been like a reptile without backbone. In their last major conflict they all but surrendered before a shot was fired. They excel in talking and placating, not in acting. Besides the greedy French were waiting at Iran's door to do business with them before the ink was dry on the deal. The English are tired, enervated and simply have no stomach for standing tall and hanging tough. They produce a Neville Chamberlain at first. As we see from allowing and encouraging the Muslim Merkel is a damaging non-entity.

I like one of the previous comments, Obama did not have authority to enter into the Iran deal in the first place. The constitution requires congressional approval which did not happen. President Trump has reversed an action that was not legal in the first place. Hooray for him!!

Threatening to resign is grounds for dismissal. It is insubordination, and Trump should fire each and everyone of them. No retirement, no severance package, just a swift kick in the donkey they rode in on.

Gov. Huckabee when will the officials that advised Barack Obama to enter into the Flawed Nuclear Deal with IRAN be identified to the AMERICAN PEOPLE ? Would you say that some of these folks are still employed in the STATE DEPARTMENT or other agencies like the SWAMP? Is it possible OBAMA came up with this plan by himself?

Kerry, Clinton & Obama have all done things that fit the definition of treason (aid and comfort to the enemy) and high crimes (Logan act and sharing classified information). They should be tried as enemy agents, & reminded what happened to the Rosenbergs in the '50s. Am I really that much older than everyone else?

I was listening to an interview on NPR this morning wherein an Iranian man was venting his scorn toward our broken deal and how Trump was obligated to keep the country's "promise." There were so many things I could've said had he been in earshot: 1. Why do I care what you think? 2. Obama's deal was not Trump's deal. Obama was the overwhelming reason that America chose Trump over Hilary. 3. We don't do things the way you do them in Iran, because, see, we're the greatest country on earth and you're, well....., not.

hint hint! Former, you mean like Hilary, she has so many "formers" attached to her it is laughable. So why is she being called "secretary"? Seems to me if Mike Flynn can be charged with the Logan act, then Kerry AND Clinton should be too. It's time to oust Sessions who is useless and get a REALY Att Gen in there who has some guts to do the job the AG is tasked with.

Just because they didn't call it a treaty doesn't make it not a treaty. A treaty is defined as "a formally concluded and ratified agreement between countries," which is what this was. The Iran "agreement" was illegal from it's acceptance because Pres. Obama did not have unilateral authority to enter in to it, the Constitution requires Congressional approval for all treaties. This is like many of the other actions Pres. Trump has reversed that simply weren't legal to begin with.

    Iran Deal outcomes:
Russia & China supply uranium to Iran
    Iran goes belly up

I listened on YouTube to President Trump about the Iran deal, and I am 100% with him about everything he does. My thinking is that anything Prez 0 did is no good. He was a smooth talking liar with a Communist agenda. His actions have caused me to wonder if he wasn't a Muslim puppet or plant anyway, despite religion and Communism being antithetical to one another. However, Liberals hate America and "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" applies here. The Iran deal was a stupid deal for America if not for its nefarious nature, making it not stupid but deliberately treacherous.

It's my belief that President Trump based his decision on withdrawing from the Iran deal as an informed leader. Thinking he used his personal knowledge as a global businessman, listened to both sides of the argument from trusted advisors and made a decision he considers best for our country.

A side comment. Unless and until justice is served at the higher levels of our government, which includes Comey and others, confidence won't be restored in our leaders. Hillary should Be prosecuted for an unsecured server used to conduct top secret business for our country. Of great concern that she has not been.

It was a bad deal from the beginning. Kerry's action is tantamount to treason.
The documents released by Netanyahu last week prove how corrupt Hussein Obama and Kerry eere, lying to Americans, and the world. It is sad thst the UN general. Sides with a terrorist country like Iran, Obama is not particular with his bed fellows they both have an agenda of world domination. Merkel is a lemming along with Macron, their ally status is questionable.
Iran is a loose cannon, their actions will be hostile. God Bless and Hold Israel, and the USA.
