Watching the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court confirmation hearings, you might be forgiven if you thought you’d mistakenly channel-surfed over to TCM and were watching an old movie instead.

For instance, we had the spectacle of Democrat Cory Booker and his Cinerama-scale virtue-signaling, as he declared that he was willing to risk his career to expose confidential emails with the title “Racial Profiling” from Kavanaugh’s time as White House counsel that the Republicans were trying to suppress. His performance won applause from liberal media critics, who hailed his histrionics as a “Spartacus” moment, referring to the #1 movie of 1960, in which Kirk Douglas plays the leader of a slave revolt against Roman oppressors.

But it turned out to be more like the #2 movie of 1960, “Psycho,” after baffled Republicans revealed that they’d cleared those documents for release the night before on request of Booker’s office. They also didn’t show that Kavanaugh was defending racial profiling, but doing his job by arguing for race-neutral post-9/11 security measures to comply with the Constitution (Democrats who implied he was racist were literally judging a book by its cover.) Booker and all the other Democrats might as well have stood up one after the other and loudly proclaimed, “!”

On the other hand, if you’d like to see a moment during the hearings that might remind you of the 1939 classic, “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,” about an honest man who’s slandered by corrupt Senators but inspires Americans with his refusal to back down from his faith in bedrock American principles, then check out this moment from day two of the hearings.

I wonder, if they’d stopped and taken a poll right then and there, how many people in that chamber actually carry their own personal copies of the Constitution? For those who don’t – and I suspect there are many, and we could guess fairly accurately who they are – maybe we need to supply them with one. That’s one free government giveaway program I could get behind.

Agree with you on all points and enjoy your commentary. My anti virus seems to label each with a red bar and warns me not to open. I think it’s because some of the ads hidden within your commentaries are questionable. Do you have any control over that? This one had one that I would classify as porn.

"he declared that he was willing to risk his career to expose confidential emails" He's ok because the rinos don't have the balls to prosecute ANYBODY even IF they break the law I do not understand WHY all we hear is big talk from the rinos but they never DO ANYTHING to back up that big talk THEY are part of the problem why the jackasses are getting away with turning this country into a racist socialist state

The Democrats are so against Trump that no matter who his pick would be they would be against it. Why it could even be Obama or Hillary! They do not look @ Kavanagh record. By the way I think your daughter is doing a GREAT JOB!

Keep up the good work of showing the darkness that is in DC. The Bible teaches, that the dark hates the light!

I wonder how many Americans watched the Judge Kavanaugh confirmation hearings. I actually did each day, as I wanted to know for myself and see for myself. I learned a lot from Judge Kavanagh. I also l knew I wanted to watch the hearing for myself because I knew fully well that the mainstream media, the fake news that they are, would only hype up those "special" liberal moments from Democrats. But I also learned a lot from the Democrats and Republicans. What a difference between the two. Almost every Democrat was nothing but rude, int eruptive, badgering, snotty, arrogant and the list goes on and on. And the Republicans were like "Mr. Smith goes to Washington" in that they were polite, respectful and most didn't hesitate a minute to point out some of the behavior and grandstanding of the Democrats. And some even took the time to point out the statements of some of the Dems when President Trump nominated Judge Kavanaugh, saying that they would oppose him no matter what. Speaks volumes, but no surprise. The Democratic party is proud to be the party that opposes anything decent, disrespects the system of law, etc., opposes Americans and America by wanting to see our Constitution changed to suit their agenda, etc.

I read an article that says that recent polls show that Democrats are in a double digit lead over Republicans for the November mid-term elections. I don't put much stock in polls, but I sure do hope that 63+ million and more that voted for Trump in 2016 will be there to vote in several months. This nation cannot afford any Democrat control of the House or the Senate. Wake up America. For just one example, watch the hearings to see the behavior and agenda of Democrats. And then go back and remember who wants sanctuary cities, who wants illegal immigrants to have benefits not earned and go back and look at who is behind all the anti-Trump agendas, and you will see this nation cannot afford to lose any seats to Democrats. Go vote because it is vitally important !!!!

The hearings were ridiculous and full of hate and bluster on the Dems part. I know they feel they have to kick back about Garland to appease their party but, it all looked like sour grapes. I did believe that Lindsey Graham made a good point about how serious it is that 9 people in robes get to define what " Liberty" is and Ben Sasse Civic lesson was spot on. Get to work Congress and do your job. Praying for Judge Kavanaugh and his family.

I'm 72 years young and you report it in language that I can understand and relate to. There are many things going on in this Administration that are simply out of hand. I really have a difficult time believing that the President is accomplishing anything at all. I believe that the Lord needs to take control and sort all the corruption out of these ( so called politicians) so we can get on with what's right. Keep up the good work an God Bless.

Please don't miss the Christiane Amanpour & Guillermo Galdos documentary romanticizing undocumented immigrants. She claimed the good news was that one couple are now in Mississippi and the wife is expecting to give birth any day now. Marlon might be able to get agricultural work but his wife and son should be sent to Guatemala if they're scared to go to Honduras. Another mother had been separated from her daughters for eleven months but all are now in Guatemala. Cesar Vargas is speaking to Christiane of eliminating ICE. How funny that CNN interviewed several people in Sweden this morning who spoke of crime, even drug trafficking in poorer neighborhoods in Sweden since immigrants have come to their country. The socialized medical system no longer works. Someone said it takes four to five years for a Swede to get a check up because of the way immigrants have overwhelmed the system. Where is the sympathy for those immigrants? Tomorrow the right wing candidate is expected to win the election. Nobody on CNN criticizes the Swedes for wanting Sweden for the Swedes.

The Left embraces the psycho behavior as bold and honest, whereas in truth, it's just psycho. What is astonishing is that their constituents fall for the theatrics without hesitation, both the lapdog media and the common, everyday, dumbed-down minion. They have succeeded in creating a class of citizen bereft of analytical thinking. The example set by the Left "elites" promotes the psycho behavior on the streets and they deem it justifiable in their contrived passion. It's very difficult to talk reason and truth to those who can not handle life outside the bubble of delusion created for them.

Huck; Hillsdale College has a program in DC that will furnish any of them with a free copy of the Constitution. They are just hoping that use peons have not taken the time on our own to have gotten a copy for ourselves and know what it says since it is no longer taught as Civic in school.

Hillsdale College, President Larry P. Arnn, not only gives away free pocket sized copies of the Constitution but also offers free online courses on the Constitution. Who would be the best person to order the copies and distribute them to each member of Congress and also sign them up for the free courses?! Maybe Congressional candidates should be required to take a test on the Constitution before being allowed to run for office much like lawyers, doctors, and other higher level hopefuls are required to take admittance tests. After all, they are responsible for the biggest job of all--governing our great country.

I'd swear that by his actions Booker is another California Democratic Wondergod in his own mind. I believe most of them think they are. The last good Democrat from California was George Miller, I did have High hopes for his replacement Mark Delsaulnier but it seems Mark(whom i've know since he was a City councilman in Concord, California)and a registered Republican! It seemed he would be one to work across the aisles like George Miller did, but alas he got to DC and got inoculated with whatever the evil side of the demoncrates use and he is slowly losing touch.

I believe that this same thing happens to most of the Democrats that are elected, that have a great plan to work with every one, mend walls and bring things together. But then they get drug under and brainwashed as soon as they get there. Unfortunately it goes the same on the other side too.

Thank you Mike Huckabee for being in public office and all you have done to uphold our Christian values in Congress and still having a voice now that you are not in Congress but still making your stand for Christian values. It really concerns me that people in Congress cannot get along and always wanting what they want and not what is best for our country for Christ himself said, “ A house divided against itself will not stand.”

In comparing himself to the escaped slave leader who led a revolt against the Roman Empire, “Spartacus” Booker is in no way, shape, or form a symbol of the oppressed. When Senator Booker goes out to one of the wonderful 5 star restaurants in DC, he needs to remind himself of that.
