2020 Campaign Slogan Suggestion

I confess that often, when I hear a leftwing politician trying to make a persuasive case to voters, I think, “Is this person really that stupid, or do they just think the rest of us are?” That particular spidey-sense is really tingling over the current claims about voters being furious at Republicans for giving them a tax cut and maybe rewarding Democrats who promise to undo it.

Here’s the premise: Voters are shocked that they’re getting smaller income tax refunds this year than last year.  They’re so angry that they will surely vote Democrats back into power and get those refunds back up again.

Here’s how stupid they think we are: they believe most voters don’t understand that the reason they got smaller refunds is that they sent less money to the IRS to begin with. Their deductions were bigger, putting more money into their paychecks, which means they got an immediate raise and gave a smaller, interest-free, one-year loan to the federal government. 

Yes, Americans are outraged that their pay went into their own pockets, where they could use it to pay down high-interest debts or buy things their families need or invest it at a good return; rather than being sent to Washington, where it would be given back a year later with no interest whatsoever.  They’re too dimwitted to figure out that if they want a bigger pile of money in April – or any month in the future – all they have to do is take that previous monthly amount they were overpaying and put it into savings or investments so they accumulate even more.

Maybe this is playing well in the district that elected Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.  But elsewhere, it could only make sense if everyone swallowed the basic premises of liberalism: Washington is better at spending your money than you are; all money belongs to the government and they’re just kind enough to let you use a little of it for a while; and people are so hopelessly stupid that we need benevolent bureaucrats to make all our financial decisions for us by force of law.  Here, let me put that into a 2020 campaign slogan: “Elect Democrats and Overpay Your Taxes Again!”

Sounds like a winner to me!  Feel free to use it, Democrats.

    Several comments on your recent posts. 1. Taxes - I dis not expect to get as large a refund because I got more during the year. I accounted for that and did not complain. Those that are complaining thought that the extra money from paychecks was. "Gimme" from govt. No econo.ic knowledge at all. 2. Elizabeth Warren is now saying that as soon as a child is born, it should be placed in govt "training" centers to start their education. That is straight out of Hitler's handbook and socialism. Parents need to be aware and this should be fought as hard as possible. 3. Infanticide - this is the most disturbing of anything I have seen in my lifetime. All the Dems have approved of killing a baby after it is born, much less killing and dismembering them whime still in the womb. That goes against anything moral and Godly. Who is next? The elderly that no longer work and pay taxes but get SS benefits that they have paid for their entire working lives? 4. AOC and her idiocy. The US is already the leader in emissions control to combat environment changes. Al Gore said about 15 years ago that the world was going to end in 12 year...ummmm, that was at least 3 years ago and we are still here, now AOC is spouting the same rhetoric. This little ignorant girl has never been out of the Bronx...how does she think that high rail transportation will cover every rural mile in the country? Retrofitting all buildings and homes...for those luving in mobile homes, will she build them a house instead? Farming and agricture...we are one of the leading countries in this area... In order for a farmer to plant, you have to cut down trees. If you dont have cows, pigs, chickens, sheep, and goats, then you do not meat for protein, milk, leather, feathers, eggs, etc. What will the citizens eat? 5. Illegal immigrants. Our country was built on LEGAL immigration and we have no problem with that. But Illegal immigration, that has got to stop. The more people in the country, the more food is required (another slam for AOC and farming). The Dems say that the illegals do not get benefits, but they do.. They flood the emergency rooms and do not pay where a US citizen pays through the nose. They take jobs that many Americans feel are beneath them, grant you...however, if the employera had to pay minimum wage, unemployment and taxes maybe the Americans that truly want to have a job would have them. The supposedly New World Order is straight out of Revelations - no borders, no sovereign countries, one ruler world wide. The wall is needed, but it is NOT Trumps wall, it is America's wall. The Dems hate him so much because he is not a politician that they will do anything to block him. 6. And lastly, the Cohen hearing that I watched today was an absurdity and waste of taxpayer money, just as the witch hunt the Dems have with All the investigations. They have no problem spending tax payer money when it is not beneficial to the taxpayer. Question - why does Congress think they have the right to decide what all Americans really want? They should all have investigations into their own loyalties, call special elections, etc instead of biased polls that appear to only be done with Dems?

    As you can see, this has been building up for a while. I do hope you read this and thank you for allowing my vent/rant.

    I have an even better 2020 political slogan since Republicans seem to be the only ones who care about maintaining our Constitutional freedoms, like freedom of speech, religious expression, right to bare arms to protect against government tyranny, and the right to life itself. Here it is.....For Life, For Liberty, For Trump 2020.

    I suppose some people are that ignorant, especially if they only listen to and believe the left wing news and congress.
    But on another subject: it's been confusing me since last November. Why in the world were democrats reelection to the House but not the Senate. And it suddenly dawned on me as I recalled something Hillary said last year: "No civility until the democrats win at least one chamber of congress". Remember her saying that? At least I think it was her. I can see the logic of people being frightened of the violence we were all seeing and voting democrat for the House to try to bring the temperature down. Dang... Now they may try that ploy every election cause it worked!!!

    I'm with you on removing radical Muslims from America who practice Sharia law on our Country. Let's start in Michigan where they have Sharia law patrols telling christians to stay out of their neighborhoods. You have my personal email.
