Today's Commentary --- Robert Mueller's Huge Failure: The "CliffsNotes" version --- 143 violations - AOC bartends again ---- Rolling Thunder chief promises real gridlock -- More information on the mass shooting in Virginia Beach --- A new Democrat slogan -- A new revenue stream for California --- Evening Edition -- Daily Verse
Sick of everything having to do with the FBI investigation, the special counsel investigation, the D.C. Circuit Court investigation, the congressional Democrats’ re-investigation and the Republicans’ investigation of the investigation? Me, too. At the same time, thanks to the appointment of Attorney General Bill Barr, we’re just at the point where the full story is gelling. This is the really important part for our country.
So to start the week, I’m providing a valuable public service: the “CliffsNotes” version (yes, that’s how they spell it now) of where we are right now in this whole darn thing, for everyone who doesn’t care to slog through the approximately 450 pages of the Mueller report, or listen again to the twisted press conference he gave on his way out the door, or hear one more idiotic word from the likes of Maxine Waters or Eric Swalwell.
First, I’ll quote someone who demonstrates much greater intelligence (and succinctness). Former Attorney General Michael Mukasey, when asked by Maria Bartiromo if there will be accountability for the spying and the abuse of the FISA Court, said, “ABSOLUTELY.” He credits the appointment of Bill Barr, who is totally dedicated to finding out what happened.

Someone should alert the media that there is a facility for migrant children in California that has been cited 143 times for violations of group home standards. Many of those violations include serious threats to the kids’ health and safety, such as bed bugs and cockroaches, leaky roof, rusty nails, holes in the walls, lack of food, drugs, abuse, drunkenness, lack of adult supervision, kids being locked out and more.
If this were an ICE facility, this shocking story would gone viral and been the lead on every news channel. But instead, this group home is run by a prominent liberal attorney and pro-migrant rights activist. Starting to figure out why you’ve never about it? Click the links and let your eyes be opened.
AOC bartends again...
By Mike Huckabee
I’m sure it will thrill many of you to hear that last Friday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez returned to her pre-Congress job of bartending. But I hate to break it to you: it was only temporary.
She did it as a publicity stunt for a group that supports her push for a national $15-an-hour minimum wage for workers who receive tips. However, she didn’t do it at the coffee bar where she used to work because it’s already been driven out of business by New York’s recent mandatory $15 minimum wage. Also, I have to assume her former co-workers who no longer have jobs wouldn’t have been that happy to see her.
AOC’s former employer explained that while a $2-an-hour pay raise doesn’t sound like much, when you multiple it times 40 hours a week times 130 workers, it added $46,000 a month to his payroll expenses, and he couldn’t absorb that and stay in business.
I don’t know what kind of tips AOC received when she went back to bartending for a night, but I hope that someone slipped her this valuable tip: “Don’t make laws about things you know nothing about. Or that involve math.”
Rolling Thunder chief promises real gridlock
By Mike Huckabee
If Speaker Pelosi can’t control the far-left, anti-Trump Peanut Gallery of her party and dissuade them from launching pointless and politically suicidal impeachment hearings, then maybe they’ll think about how loudly they’ll have to yell to hear their bogus charges over the roar of tens of thousands of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. And if they think Congress is gridlocked, imagine the traffic in DC!
That’s what the leader of the veterans’ motorcycle group Rolling Thunder is vowing if House Democrats try to impeach Trump instead of dealing with real issues, like care for veterans and Americans left behind in POW camps. You can imagine how big a rally it could be when you consider that this year’s Rolling Thunder rally in DC drew over a million motorcyclists and they’d be combining that following with a pro-Trump rally.
I’d hate to see it come to that, but after Trump was cleared of “Russian collusion” by two Congressional committees and the Mueller report, and Democrats just amped up the call for impeachment that they’ve been repeating since the second Trump was declared the winner (don’t worry, they’ll come up with some “high crimes and misdemeanors” to be named later), maybe it will take the sound of a couple million roaring motorcycles to finally get their attention. If nothing else, it would put them in a position most have never been in before: being surrounded by thousands of Trump supporters.
Living in their elite DC political/media bubble, it’s possible that many of them have never met a Trump supporter and think they’re as rare as a Bigfoot and twice as smelly. They just assume that everyone agrees with them that "Trump BAD!" because they never associate with anyone who doesn’t think that. It’s time they realized that Trump is President because he got nearly 63 million votes and carried 30 states, and all those people are not happy that his agenda is being blocked and his position threatened by a handful of radical narcissists from a few House districts so far left that a dead skunk with a "D" by its name could get elected. Maybe they’d finally wake up to reality if enough of his supporters made some noise, and gunning a few hundred-thousand motorcycles outside their office windows just might be loud enough to do the trick.
More information on the mass shooting in Virginia Beach
By Mike Huckabee
Here’s the latest on what we know about Friday’s mass shooting in a Virginia Beach government office building which left 12 people dead, all but one of them city employees. The shooter was killed by police.
The shooter was a disgruntled city engineer who had worked for the public utilities department for about 15 years and was a co-worker of most of the victims. His motive is as-yet unknown (and per my standing policy, I will not repeat his name.) As usual, an immediate effort was made to politicize the shooting by blaming it on the gun, the NRA and the lack of “common sense gun laws.”
A new Democrat campaign slogan
By Mike Huckabee
If the Democrats are looking for a good campaign slogan for 2020, might I suggest this?
“Who are you gonna believe, us or your lyin’ eyes?!”
This seems especially relevant after this weekend’s California Democratic Convention in San Francisco (talk about the ground zero of “progressivism.”) National level Democrats and their countless media apologists keep insisting that the party base really aren’t a bunch of leftist radicals who want to impose socialism on America; why, that’s just a lot of partisan propaganda smear tactics puffed up by crazy Republicans.
But in order to believe that, you have to overlook the fact that when former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper (one of the few Dem hopefuls with any executive experience at all) told the crowd, “If we want to beat Donald Trump and achieve big progressive goals, socialism is not the answer,” he was greeted with loud, sustained booing. If they don’t embrace socialism, then why do they react to any badmouthing of it like a mother who’s just been told that her baby’s ugly?
A new revenue stream for California
With so many business owners fleeing California, Gov. Gavin Newsom apparently hopes to diversify his state’s tax base beyond Hollywood and high tech by turning it into America’s abortion mill. With other states passing laws restricting abortion, Newsom (who, coincidentally, is already laying plans for his reelection campaign) is launching the sickest tourism promotion ever by inviting women to come to the Golden State to kill their children in the womb. Or as he put it so euphemistically, while practically wrapping a Planned Parenthood clinic in American flags:
“California will continue to uphold women’s equality and liberty by protecting their reproductive freedom, educating Californians about their rights to reproductive freedom, welcoming women to California to fully exercise their reproductive rights, and acting as a model for other states that want to ensure full reproductive freedom for women.”
He somehow managed to promote unfettered abortion while saying the word "freedom" more often than Rush Limbaugh.
Of course, this is really all that would happen if Roe v. Wade were overturned: abortion would not be outlawed, the issue would just go back to the states. It’s nice to see that a “progressive” liberal like Newsom can appreciate the concepts of freedom and limited federal power. However, it would be nice if a “progressive” could ever make a speech that repeatedly touted liberty and freedom without it being solely about the freedom to kill innocent babies, who, in his view, obviously have no right to life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness.
