Friday, hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of high school students around the world skipped class to protest “climate change,” although I have no exact numbers on the participation or on how many seriously believe the world is going to end in 10 years and how many just wanted to skip class.  Hey, I grew up in the Vietnam era, so don’t tell me that never happens.

I feel that I should try to point out to these kids that much of the “climate science” that’s been spoon-fed to them is hysterical, apocalyptic junk science, based on computer models that have never been remotely correct in their predictions.  Also that much of it comes the same leftist fear-mongers who’ve been making failed doomsday predictions for half a century (allow me to share this list again: ) In fact, if these students really believe these predictions, then I have a couple of dozen cans of tuna in my pantry that I’ll happily sell to them for $80 apiece, the price I was assured they would be going for by the end of the ‘80s, when the oceans would all be dead (plus 30 years worth of inflation, of course.)

But rather than trying to allay their hysterical fears with facts, science and history, I’ll rather point out the most horrifying aspect of this story: the way we have allowed our schools and the mass media to terrify an entire generation of young people into thinking they have no futures. Of course, we should be good stewards of God's creation, and in fact, humans have long since started doing a better job of that.  The environment is cleaner now than it was 40 years ago, particularly in capitalist counties; the big polluters are socialist/communist nations like China. Free market capitalism is what's lifting people out of poverty while creating market incentives to develop cleaner and more efficient technology and energy sources.

From the many professionally-printed protest signs reading “We demand climate justice” (incidentally, how many trees had to be cut and how much CO2 released to make, print and distribute those worldwide?), it’s obvious this was no grassroots protest organized by teens.  It was a cynical manipulation of young people by a well-organized radical political movement that's been playing a long game of exploiting kids to promote its own agenda and achieve power.  It’s a formula articulated nearly a century ago by actual journalist H.L. Mencken, who famously said that the whole aim of politics is to keep the people frightened and clamoring to be led to safety from a series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

It is heartbreaking to watch teenagers, who should be grateful to live when and where they do and be optimistic about the fantastic opportunities and advances they enjoy, instead lamenting that the Earth is dying, they have no future, and they don’t even want to have children of their own because they’ll just be suffering in an environmental hellscape. Filling their heads with that stuff isn’t merely mideducation or propaganda, it’s outright child abuse.

And all over a theoretical increase of a fraction of a degree in average temperatures, an environmental apocalypse so horrific that it somehow hasn’t prevented its biggest promoters from taking private jets to eco-conferences and buying oceanfront mansions.

Hey, kids, you know who is famous signing that there was “no future?” Punk rock icon Johnny Rotten.  He first sang that in 1976.  Forty-three years later, the world is still here, and in most ways is safer, healthier, cleaner and more peaceful and prosperous then it was then.  As for Johnny, he’s now 63 and married to a publishing heiress with homes in both London and California, he’s been called a British “national treasure,” and he recently said of Donald Trump, "What I dislike is the left-wing media in America are trying to smear the bloke as a racist and that's completely not true."

Good thing Johnny didn’t believe his own claim that there was “no future” and give up because he ended up having a pretty full and interesting future.  And so will young people today, as long as they don’t listen to false prophets of doom trying to panic them into signing over their futures to a bunch of power-mad socialists who want to severely limit what their futures can be.

Stop the presses!  Leftists have finally found an American flag they’ll actually run up the flagpole and salute!

Of course, it’s not the real flag of the United States of America so much as the official flag of Fantasyland, but it’s a start. Two great points in this story: First, to these people, Betsy Ross’ 13-star flag is an affront to what America stands for, but their own presumptuous and delusional 51-star vandalism of the flag is perfectly okay.

Second, they love to claim that the Founders “never could have imagined” whatever the situation is that they think justifies them shredding the Constitution.  But the Founders imagined exactly what would happen if the national capital, with its eventual and inevitable concentration of powerbrokers, pocketliners and fourflushers, had the powers of a state, and that’s why they specifically barred that and put it under the jurisdiction of Congress.

On the bright side, I’m sure they’ll defend me if I take a knee when they raise their flag.

Speaking of the DC statehood movement (aka, the “Put two more Democrats into the Senate” scam), this should go without saying, but taking a lesson in civics or history from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Twitter feed is like taking ballet lessons from a hippopotamus.

Elizabeth Warren seems determined to prove right all the people who claim she’s the second coming of Hillary Clinton.  This week, she gave her campaign a big boost by publicly slamming half the voters in America.

To be fair, she just implied that they were irrelevant and she doesn’t care about them.  She didn’t come right out and call them sexist, racist, homophobic, Islamophobic, xenophobic, irredeemable deplorables to their faces.  But then, it’s only the primaries, so it’s too early for that yet.

Since it’s the weekend and I’m sure you’d love a little entertainment with your politics to help you decompress, watch this Congressional hearing video of black conservative Candace Owens utterly dismantling an alleged university “expert” on white supremacy (who is herself white) who tried to imply that Owens somehow inspires white supremacist violence and laughs at its victims.  Pop some popcorn before watching this.

If you’ve given more than half a million dollars to Democratic groups, but are also accused of being a pervert who has killed young black men by injecting them with meth to get a sick sexual thrill, what does that make you, in the eyes of the New York Times?  If you guessed “a small-time Democratic donor,” go to the head of the class.

Christians need to get kids marching to get God's unconditional love into the schools to stop kids from going to early graves because they have been shot by an angry kid who is full of hate....rather THAN unconditional love!

Sadness...the stupidity of the younger generation, I was watching a old rerun of Fraiser and they were making jokes about "climate change " it was funny but obviously they don't know any better that they have been telling us this for years and I guess you could say we are still waiting, but I do believe that we should care for our oceans and forests, I'm just sick of the " scare tactics " being used on the younger generation that have no life experience and are still naive enough to believe everything they hear.

My mother never taught me that it was okay to do something wrong or break the law as long as you never got caught. She also never said that if you got caught, you should blame the accuser/s. In the case of the Bidens, Kerrys, et al, these are not nieve milleniums with parents as friends but old guys who are in my generation. For shame!

These fool hearted high school kids better get their minds on the right track. Quit listening to these hate mongers about us ruining the earth. Listen to both sides and then make your decision. They will find that they are just being lied to.

DC wants to be a state, but in reality they are much better suited to be a county of Maryland. That is what they should be working on if they truly wanted a vote.

Your insight into the climate change hysterical propaganda was spot on. The saddest thing about this story is the media's greed, that makes stealing HOPE from children a priority--it's all about the money. Hopelessness and despair , create the violence, anger, and dysfunction that get attention and increase their profit margins.

Thanks for all you do to keep us informed. It is a blessing to read your articles daily. You are doing more for the USA Republic than most anyone! Hope and pray that your articles will open peoples eye about what it going on our beloved USA. You & your wonderful family are just like brothers & sisters to me. Of course, the Gospel makes us closer than brothers & sisters. It is because of he relationship that we have with God. A man back in the late 1800's wrote a book entitled, "Practice His Presence." I feel His presence every where I go. Lord bless & sustain you & yours.

Warren is a joke. The whole have a beer with me is completely transparent. Look I am just one of the guys. Oh my husband is here. Why was she really that surprised that the man she is married to came home? I do not think she can compete with President Trump.

We have to keep banging the drum. Make sure every voter understands that no matter which Dem is running they are all after our guns.
They are after more taxes than we pay now.
They will bankrupt the country with New Green Deal.
They love immigrants while hating True Americans. Once again my meaning of a True American is anyone here LEGALLY.

Amazing Mike how foolish some people can be educated people look at this hoax of climate change as absurd. Your right they prey on these kids scare them with the end is near rhetoric and go about the business of getting the uneducated vote. Looking at the Presidential hopefuls I can't see anyone that has ever worked a job that included physical labor these people didn't spend time in blue collar attire for a couple of consecutive years so what do they know about blue color workers they have lived in formal dress everyday while going to sit on their ass as government senators or congress people Trump at least went on job sites and mingled with Heavy Equipment Operators the Trades men the blueprint readers all the men and women that really do the manual labor I wouldn't hire any of those deadbeats presidential candidates to sweep the floors it would take 2 years to train them on how to operate a broom deadbeats!

    comment on the "climate"
We live in a "closed" system here on this planet. --let me give you an example of this: if you put a refrigerator in a sealed environment-no heat/cold can go in or come out--and you open the refrigerator door and turn it on(the elect energy will come in to the system from the wires) what will happen to the temperature of the closed system?
If your answer is the temp will go down, then you are incredibly stupid. If you answer the temp will go up, you would be correct--thus the argument for warming on our planet--
You, of all people should be well aware of this--the oceans are acidifying at a logarithmic rate, the coral reefs are dying(our food chain), our oxygen is depleting at an increased rate(it is now 20.7 percent--when Jesus was alive it was 21%----the science is solid, the fossil record is irrefutable--
trump is lying to us----and I voted for this nut case

I wonder how many of the kids who were supposed to go to the protest actually stayed home and played video games or went to the park to play frizbee. You know, I don't think the mayor of a city can overrule me as a parent. I'd be making a big, big ruckus if the mayor signed a permission slip for my kid. Well, I guess maybe he's from the party of providing birth control and abortions without parental knowledge, let alone consent. I think we need to take our kids back from the village that good ol' hil spoke of. BTW--I don't think she turned her daughter over to "the village" just like micelle o. didn't see to it that the school her daughters attended had to eat the slop public schools were subjected to.

I do remember, late 70's early 80's there was a lot of talk about not having kids, not bringing them in to this horrible world, etc etc etc. This I know is true, I was in my 20's at the time. And, I do remember they hulabaloo about over population, which might also have been a reason to not have kids? So, things really haven't changed a lot except a good number of us DID have kids, and many of us matured and figured out that a lot of stuff we had been fed was so much malarky. Hopefully young ones of today will see the light.

Thank you for keeping us up to date and giving the real meaning of our government and what they try to tell us. I have been a fan of yours since Arkansas days when we use to bring our pastor to the Baptist meeting in Little Rock. I am sorry I can not donate to your cause but living on SS is not easy. Please keep up the good work and you are always in my prayers.

    Hey Mike -
Regarding voters in Washington D.C. ...
    (1) They knew how things worked when they moved there ... "name D.C."
    (2) They moved anyway, their choice ... They can move away if this is a big deal for them ...
    (3) Instead of state #51, just redraw the D.C. boundary to only include federal buildings.
All residential neighborhoods become part of either MD or VA ...
And the residents all become TAXABLE by the states, property tax, sales tax, school tax...
    (4) I bet most residents of D.C. did not ask to become state #51 ... and actually oppose it.
    My $.02 ... [jim]

If we did absolutely nothing different and kept burning fossil fuels at an ever increasing rate, which is ridiculous because as soon as be come up with cheap batteries, the world will be tripping over itself to convert to renewables because they will be so much cheaper, accounting only for CO2, human activity would increase temperature by a grand total of one degree in a hundred years, but CO2 increases clouds so that is cut in half and the USA is only one fifth of the CO2 which means that if everyone in the United States went back to pre cave man days and stopped breathing, it would have a grand total impact on global temperature of one tenth of
    one degree.
