While you’re waiting for the South Carolina Democratic primary results to come in, tune in tonight for a star-packed new episode of “Huckabee!” (You might even be able to catch next week’s episode before the results come in.) Dana Loesch will talk about her new book on the destructiveness of our phony “OUTRAGE!” culture. US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman will offer insights on our most important ally in the Middle East. Devon Still, who put his NFL career on hold to help his young daughter beat cancer, will discuss overcoming adversity. TV’s “Hercules” and one of the most successful Christian filmmakers in the world, Kevin Sorbo, and his wife/collaborator Sam Sorbo, will tell us about their latest book and movie – and they have a free gift for all “Huckabee” viewers, so have a pen handy or hit “Record” (but I know you do that anyway.) How can we top all that? How about a performance by one of the greatest Christian rock bands of all time, with six gold albums: The Newsboys!
It’s all tonight on “Huckabee” at 8 and 11 EST, 7 and 10 CST, and the same times on Sunday, on TBN. “We’re From The Government And We’re Here to Help You!” Dept: After more than 40 years, California’s Lake Tahoe Music Festival will end this year because of the impossible costs and paperwork burdens imposed by the new AB5 state law regulating contract workers, which includes musicians. Most of whom probably voted for the idiotic leftists who passed the law that’s putting musicians and all other "gig" workers out of work. But only because they’re trying to HELP you!
Israeli researchers say they’ve made a breakthrough on the coronavirus and might be able to develop a vaccine within a matter of weeks, and have it available 90 days after that.
So, since Democrats who are attacking Trump’s handling of this disease seem so concerned about the coronavirus, does this mean they’ll stop attacking Israel, slandering Benjamin Netanyahu, making anti-Semitic statements, and supporting known anti-Semites and the vile BDS divestment movement?
Don’t hold your breath. For anyone who thinks they’d put the public’s health and safety ahead of their political agenda, I have two words: “sanctuary city.”
It looks as if the Democrats who were initially panicked at having a socialist Presidential nominee are already moving into the “acceptance” stage, apparently having realized that Bernie's crazy, radical ideas aren’t that much different from what they’ve already embraced. And so, a new Gallup poll found that 76% of Democrats now say they would vote for a socialist for President.
To give you an idea of how far left the party base has moved, the same poll found that 53% of Americans would not vote for a socialist – which is scary enough because it ought to be 100%.
Today’s Democrats would not only support a socialist, they’ll run interference for him if it’s politically expedient -- even when he goes around praising murderous communist dictators, as House Democrats did yesterday when they blocked a resolution to condemn Sanders’ praise of Fidel Castro on a party-line vote.
If you think this is an anomaly, recall that one day before, Senate Democrats used the filibuster to block a bill to guarantee emergency medical care to babies born alive during abortions. When they tell you that you can trust your medical care to the government, remember that they’re already on record as voting to let some people die if they are inconvenient to the leftist political agenda. I’m sure that Castro is looking up from where he is now and nodding in approval.
Here’s more from David Harsanyi at National Review about Bernie’s longtime love affair with communist authoritarian tyrants, and the Democrats’ and the media’s studious efforts to look the other way.
This just in: Bernie Sanders isn’t the only Democratic Presidential contender who can see the good in communist tyrants. I’ve also heard that Hitler was a marvelous dancer and an excellent painter. He could paint an entire apartment in one afternoon. Two coats!
I normally don’t pay much attention to polls, but there’s a new one out of Florida that’s very interesting, if it’s remotely accurate. The St. Pete Poll shows that Biden is well ahead in Florida with 33.8%, followed by Mike Bloomberg at 24.9%. The interesting part is that just one week ago, the very same poll had Bloomberg ahead at 31.7% and Biden lagging at 26.5%. Bloomberg managed to vault into the #1 slot with his carpet-bombing of TV and Internet ads, but after voters got a look at him in the debates, he fell by almost 7 points in one week. Proving that advertising might be able to sell anything at first, but if there’s a problem with the product, people stop buying it.
A couple of side notes: there’s been some talk of Bernie Sanders collapsing to third in this Florida poll due to outrage over his praise of Castro, but in fact, he actually rose from 11.4% to 13% in the past week. Cuban-American parents might want to sit their kids down and tell them a little family history to counteract what they’re hearing in college.
Also, here’s some ammunition for critics of early voting. Primary voting is already underway in Florida, and among those who’ve already voted, Bloomberg has 29.4% support, while he’s only at 24.6% among those who have yet to vote. This does bolster the view of those who wait until the last minute because they want to know everything there is to know about the candidates before voting, to avoid buyer’s remorse.
Thursday, the Ukrainian government launched an official investigation into allegations that then-Vice President Joe Biden illegally pressured the government to fire their chief prosecutor because he was looking into Burisma, the gas company that paid Hunter Biden $83,000 a month to be on their board. Biden claims the prosecutor was corrupt; the firing was backed by the State Department, the EU and the IMF; and his defenders have branded this a “debunked conspiracy theory.” But the prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, insists he did nothing wrong and stepped down only because he’s a patriot and didn’t want Biden to cut off $1 billion in US aid to his country.
So now, it appears that there finally be an official investigation of that. And since Shokin and not Trump got Ukraine’s government to try to find the truth, I assume investigating Biden is no longer an impeachable offense. The bright side for Biden and his supporters is that if the Ukrainian government clears him, they will finally have some actual justification for throwing around the word “debunked.”
Speaking of Hunter Biden, he’s exhausted the patience of the judge in his paternity case in Arkansas. She blasted him in court for his pants-on-fire lame excuses for not showing up, and asked how someone who claims to be unemployed can also claim to be too busy to show up until April 1st. Circuit Judge Holly Meyer told Biden’s attorney, “He needs to make himself available and unless his hair is on fire, he needs to be in Arkansas and he needs to be in a deposition.”
Nothing like an Arkansas judge to cut to the heart of the matter!
Advice I Shouldn’t Even Have To Be Giving To Joe Biden: “Do not, under any circumstances, challenge Nikki Haley to a brainpower contest.”
Move over, Jussie Smollett: the latest widely-reported “hate crime” appears to be a hoax. At the link is surveillance video that captured the alleged racist vandal of a Philadelphia civil rights mural in the act, along with a link to a list of other Trump-era hoax hate crimes.
