BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

Rush Limbaugh RIP

By Mike Huckabee

While many of us have been bracing for Rush Limbaugh’s passing ever since he revealed his battle against terminal lung cancer, the news that came Wednesday of his death at 70 still sent a shock wave of grief though his many millions of fans. You knew it was coming, but it still seems unbelievable.

If anyone seemed capable of beating cancer, it was the indestructible El Rushbo. Over the years, he overcame every obstacle, from the alleged “death” of AM radio to painkiller addiction and hearing loss (how can a radio broadcaster overcome deafness? Rush did) to the rabid hatred of leftists, whom he infuriated all the more by batting away their attacks with facts, logic and good humor.

With his great love of America and its exceptional history, freedom and opportunity, Rush had a massive influence on politics over several decades, helping direct and grow the conservative movement in good times and defend and encourage it in bad times. But he also earned a place on the Mouth Rushmore of radio (there should be one of those named after him.) When he came along, the industry “wisdom” was that AM radio was dying because it couldn’t carry music with FM fidelity. Rush invented nationally-syndicated conservative talk radio, turned AM back into a ratings powerhouse, and inspired generations of hosts to follow in his footsteps.

I speak from personal experience, having hosted a syndicated radio show myself, when I tell you it’s not an easy job. It’s a testament to Rush’s “talent on loan from God” that he could be on the air three hours a day, five days a week; always be current, enlightening and entertaining; and often fill much of the show by himself without relying on guests or callers to fill the time. Even liberals (honest ones, not the ghouls celebrating Rush’s death on Twitter) admitted that anyone who could attract up to 27 million listeners a week for decades on over 600 stations with just the power of his words and ideas was a remarkable broadcaster. He used his skills not only to influence politics but to raise millions of dollars for charity.

Rush loved loved God, America, his audience and radio so much, not even debilitating cancer treatments could keep him away from the microphone until the very end. And he was riveting right up until his final show, as he talked about how lucky he felt to be alive. He showed a humble side of himself that he often kept hidden from listeners as he discussed his religious beliefs and how he considered every day of life beyond last October, which his doctors had predicted would be his “expiration date,” to be a gift from God. And of course, he reminded listeners of the greatness of America and how important it was to keep up the fight to protect it.

Rush may no longer be on the air every day, but the example he set has inspired generations of patriotic conservatives who will look to his legacy for courage and guidance as they pick up the torch and continue his mission of speaking out and defending this exceptional nation and its great principles.

NYT Retraction

By Mike Huckabee

The New York Times, the same ultra-politicized newspaper that can't tell the difference between its own news and opinion pages yet thinks we need a government-appointed "Reality Czar" to police our speech, has quietly backed away from one of its most explosive claims: that Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick died after being struck in the head by a fire extinguisher hurled by a rioter.

As we'd already reported in this newsletter, Officer Sicknick had assured family members that he was okay after the violence ended, he died later that day, and no blunt force trauma was found on his body. Weeks went by without any official cause of death being given, until people began to speculate on whether he might have had a stroke or a reaction to chemicals used at the scene.

This lack of facts, however, didn't deter the New York Times from running with their story, nor Congressional Democrats from shamelessly politicizing Officer Sicknick's death after a year in which many of them showed little respect for the dangers faced by police officers. They even used it to give emotional weight to their empty impeachment case against the President, blaming him for Officer Sicknick's death, just as he's personally responsible for every coronavirus death, even the ones in New York nursing homes, according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who forced the nursing homes to take in COVID-19 patients.

A lot of people are asking what all these Trump-hating obsessives will do if they don't have Trump to hate and curse and scream about all day. I just wonder who they'll blame for all their own mistakes and failures.

Incidentally, thanks to Ed Driscoll at Instapundit for pointing out this perfect response from the satirical site, the Babylon Bee: "Ignorant Senator Shares New York Times Article Thinking It's Real."

The Downfall Of The “Lincoln Project”

By Mike Huckabee

I’m sure you’ve heard of the slanderously-misnamed “Lincoln Project,” the group of former establishment Republicans formed to oppose Donald Trump – because what better way to promote real conservative principles than to help elect Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden? Well, it appears to be dying, not from assassination but from suicide.

Co-founder Steve Schmidt, last heard ranting furiously on Twitter about how anyone who worked for Trump must be hounded, doxed, shunned, shamed and prevented from ever working again due to their alleged moral inferiority, has resigned from the LP. This follows allegations that he and others knew about the accusation of sexual harassment of young men (some underage) by co-founder John Weaver long before they admitted it, but covered it up and did nothing to stop it. Not to mention the complaints of rampant sexism, sexual discrimination and gay slurs within its offices.

Someone there also tweeted private texts of a former employee to try to discredit her whistleblowing, then deleted it when told it likely violated federal law.

All the resignations and in-fighting have also revealed that the LP wasn’t really about protecting moral integrity and conservative principles so much as amassing “generational wealth” for its founders by separating gullible liberal donors from their money. It was, as many have already pointed out, a grift. Color me shocked.

Meanwhile, another organization based on fear, greed, hypocrisy and demonization of others, the SPLC (Southern Poverty Law Center), is now riding high as the go-to creators of feeble excuses for social media giants to silence conservatives.

The SPLC’s latest assaults on free speech, freedom of thought and rational thinking include declaring that they will no longer list black nationalist organizations as “hate groups,” allegedly because their racial anger and violent segregationist rhetoric (which recently led to the murder of five Dallas police officers) is justified…

…and it’s also trying to get 147 Republican Senators and Representatives deplatformed from social media because they questioned the 2020 election results, which to the SPLC means they incited the Capitol riot. Also, if you ever condemned the violent radical leftist group Antifa, or if you think the rioting destroying cities is a worse problem than systemic police racism, then they consider you a racist and a likely target for future branding as a hate group, deplatforming, silencing, etc. FYI: a recent poll found that 51% of Americans thought the riots were a bigger problem than police racism, so the SPLC wants to banish over half of Americans to the corn field.

In reading these stories at the same time, I was struck by how alike the the LP and the SPLC are…

Both started out espousing noble principles (the SPLC actually had them in the beginning.) But over time, both degenerated into corrupt scams that manufacture slander for money. Both frighten and bilk donors into sending more and more cash to fight what they claimed is a rising danger from fellow Americans who have become hateful, racist, fascist monsters who vote for Trump and go to church and actually believe in the Bible.

And it’s a lucrative scam (I used to call the SPLC America’s most successful hate group, but some others are giving them a run for their money these days.) Both groups were awash in cash that was squandered on lavish executive salaries, ritzy offices and other perks. And both had founders who practiced shocking sexual harassment and bullied employees into keeping quiet about it, until it finally became so intolerable that the dam broke and the world found out. Both organizations were shameless hypocrites, posing as arbiters of morality while turning Americans against each other for profit, and denouncing innocent conservatives and Christians as morally inferior while practicing the most horrific immorality themselves.

So why is the LP imploding while the SPLC is growing like a cancerous tumor? I suspect that as much as the LP badmouthed conservatives for “losing our souls,” their problem is that we actually do take morality seriously. We always saw the LP not as conservatives standing on principle, but as Judases selling out their principles and slandering their former friends for money. The liberals who supported them did so not because they liked or respected them, but because they were useful to their goal of defeating Trump. Now that Trump is gone, so is their usefulness. That leaves them with nobody to defend them, on the left or the right. The stinking cheese stands alone. If they survive, it won’t be because Republicans admire their conservative principles, it will be because they found new ways to make themselves useful to the Democrats, who aren’t that particular, as witness the SPLC.

The SPLC is still immensely useful to the left’s agenda, so all the corruption, money-grubbing and sexual abuse can be overlooked. How many times in recent years have we seen Democrat megadonors like Harvey Weinstein or Jeffrey Epstein, or powerful politicians like Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy or Joe Biden himself, accused of behavior that would destroy any Republican, yet they sailed on untouched? Epstein and Weinstein were finally brought down when their horrific behavior was exposed as so bad that it ruined their usefulness. But whenever this happens, we always hear that everyone knew about their crimes for years, it was an open secret, but nobody did a thing. What did the broken lives of their victims matter as long as they were still politically useful?

I can think of no better timing for the downfall of the “Lincoln Project” than Presidents Day weekend, when we celebrated the birthday of the President whose name they misappropriated and defamed, and the exoneration from false charges of the President they spent four years lodging false charges against. May the same deserved fate happen to the SPLC.

ICYMI: Newsletter Update (from yesterday)

By Mike Huckabee

If the newsletter is a little sparse or late this week, we hope you'll understand. It's because we're all affected by the historic winter storm that's battering the nation with snow and ice and sending temperatures plunging nearly to zero even in Texas. So far, at least nine deaths are being blamed on the wild weather, including from a devastating tornado that struck Brunswick County, North Carolina. I hope you will join me in praying for the victims and for everyone caught in the path of this storm, especially the elderly and other vulnerable people who were left in the cold and dark by massive power outages.

At the moment, I am iced in in Little Rock, having to look into the sad, bewildered, accusing eyes of my two dogs who were used to living in Florida. So far, we've had no power outages, but the guilt is chilling.

However, my two writer/researchers, Pat Reeder and Laura Ainsworth, are in suburban Dallas and are part of the four million Texans left without power. For a firsthand account, I'll turn you over to Pat...

Yes, Laura and I have been experiencing the "rolling blackouts." I don't know why they're called "rolling," since they hit you and stay long past any reasonable limits. At first, they lasted just 15 minutes, then an hour, but then they got ridiculously long. Yesterday, our power (and hence, heat) was out from around 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., a ten-hour stretch with no heat on the coldest night in 40 years, with temperatures in the single digits outside.

Laura and I take in homeless and abused parrots, a few of whom had plucked all their features out from trauma before arriving here, and keeping them alive in a frigid house is our #1 concern. We are doing anything we can to get heat into the air, from...(at this point, the power went off again. I'll finish this via cell phone)...burning candles to running hot water in the bathtub, but it barely makes a difference.

And WHY are Texans suffering power outages? Because some idiots decided that 25% of our energy should come from windmills, or as we call them, "bird Cuisinarts," and the turbines froze. Freezing in the dark is something that anti-oil Northeastern liberals should be doing, not Texans. How did we let idiots who think AOC is a scientist influence Texas' energy policies?

If the greens want reliable clean energy, then stop blocking nuclear plants. Until then, some of our poor shivering parrots have some words for them that that learned before we adopted them.

And now, here's more on this story.

Here are some good tips to follow if you find yourself in the middle of a power outage. I would add, "Pick up a pen and write a letter in longhand by candlelight to your power company, complaining about how dumb it is to replace needed, reliable sources of energy with unproven, unready 'green' alternatives."

Mike, the outages in Texas aren’t just because of the green wind turbines, there are still many old fashioned power lines in use all over US and I know from a kid growing up in Kansas that downed lines in a storm meant cover w/blankets, wood heat, and the kerosene lamp in use. What’s happened to people except they’ve gotten soft. Winter meant always have foods stocked. I raised my family in Minnesota. It’s winter and 20 degrees is known as warm today. That’s just life. Quit complaining, you disgrace the Lord who controls all weather.

    Dear Gov. Mike:
I'm surprised that Texas, where common sense seems to be the rule, allowed itself to be led down the green "renewables" garden path to the 25% extent that it did. Hopefully, they've learned an important lesson and will correct their error and provide a good example for the other 49 states! In this way, something good can come out of their suffering.

I cannot believe how evil some people are. Those who are celebrating the death of Rush are pure evil. The Bible says we "reap what we sow" or as my husband says, "what goes around comes around". I don't like Pelosi but I would never celebrate her death. I have been praying for the people in Texas. I hope this will be a lesson to AOC and the other idiots who continue to harp on "green living". I signed a petition to ask Biden to let the keystone pipeline continue. I certainly don't want that crude oil to go to China. I think people need to contact their representatives and let them know what they think about shutting down the pipeline.

I have lived thru Obama and now Biden Anti American and anti Christian values and what I see now are the need to have Christ in the lives of Americans. Americans have let Christ slip into the corner or put in the closet although we may may know he is there we just don't use Him as much as we did in the past. He knows Humans and He knows Satin. Satin has its foot set in America and Americans have better make it's path slippery as to Satin falls and slides into the Abyss away from our 10 Commandments and the reason for the Constitution remember one Nation under God you know the thing. I am not Jesus Christ I believe in Him and want to be similar to Him this Administration of Harris and Biden continues to push me back to my beliefs of goodness and to Him. He took a great voice from us on Ash Wednsday and left us to carry on the message of being good to one another and to make our time here a better place. The America He prepared for this world is not to have Satin in control of its policies and the abandonment of the 10 Commandments as the current Administration is doing. Resist Harris Biden Obama as they are root and offspring of Satin. They closed down the Home of Jesus Christ do I need to go any further?

What really bothered me was yesterday while on Facebook, there was a story about the death of Rush that was filled with lots of hate. How can anyone hate who lives in our exceptional country? I do not seem to find an answer to that question. I hardly go on Facebook only to read comments from friends and family. Anyway, here I am living in Sun City, Arizona and very happy to be. I am enjoying all that Sun City offers which is not too much right now because of the virus. But, people are still moving in and out these days and there is lots of building going on. Anyway, I do enjoy your newsletters and I continue to pray for the health of our nation. I look forward to 2022 when hopefully, the Republicans will come to their senses and back up Trump and all who run in order to take the seats away from the Dems.

I will remain upset by the Pipeline shut down and the Rail Roads need to be looked at if it is the cause of the pipelines demise, why not have the pipelines and the trains coexist the trains are are not the cleanest means of transportation or as economical as a pipeline we don't have to kill the trains although it takes a lot of fuel to operate them use in addition to the transport of the pipeline everyone wins Biden has his head in the sand or he has his hand out to keep the trains moving without competition. Under handed compensation to hurt America again.

What is the difference between a Conservative and a Liberal?
Of course the first and foremost difference is Faith in God, a Christian, Humility, and Cares for your fellow man. The opposite is what a Liberal is, the Liberal looks to always blame others for their own consequence when they do wrong. Prudent Choices and knowing what the consequences are, are one of the definitive characteristics of Conservatives. What is popular and trendy is what Liberals go for, regardless of how senseless those choices are, they do not care about consequences, but only what feels good at the moment, regardless of what tomorrow will bring.
Conservatives are those who have experienced being downtrodden on because of an 'opinion however wrong' they are looked upon by. Ex. I have been discriminated against because I am a minister's daughter and was picked on by others in my peer group growing up, because I was kind to all students, even those who are not popular because they were poor or had special needs. I was not a sports jock because I enjoyed playing sports for the fun and not the competition. Winning in field hockey was good, but being with other girls playing in the same sport was more fun, even when we lost. I never wanted to win at any cost, because that is when the fun of sports competition goes away. I was happy to just play in sports, but didn't have the 'killer instinct' to win by any means possible, meaning physically hurting another player just so they can't play anymore. That is mean and unnecessary and to hurt another human being, on purpose, is not in my nature. Like the parable, 'Treat others as you yourself want to be treated', or also known as The Golden Rule. That is why I was never a sports jock, because playing sports is to have fun, and not to win at any cost. My siblings and I all were raised to be kind to others, not to discriminate against anyone, because God is the true judge, not us. We were taught to think about what it would be like to walk in someone else's shoes for awhile and see how hard their life is compared to ours. We had a loving mom and dad, siblings, grandparents, cousins, etc., loving family relationships and that many people in the world, didn't know anything about that. We were poor compared to many in the small town we were raised in, poor in money, but not in love and faith. There was always another family who had it worse off than we did, and to feel sorry for those who don't know what a loving family is all about. I don't know if it was taught to us in Sunday School when we were very young, but that and added to it, being raised by a loving dad, mom, grandparents, brothers, and sisters, really gives Conservatives the morals and values that we are distinguished from liberals by. Many liberals that I know now after I've grown up, are the ones who always cheated in school, got away with bad things they did to others without showing any shamefulness in what they did and why. So that leads me to believe that they don't believe in God or any higher authority than themselves to answer to. Am I right on about the differences between Conservatives and Liberals? And finally, people want to aspire to be more like respected people, and wise people, and to be respected and wise, you need to follow the right way to do things and not just the 'easy' way or the 'popular' way. It seems to me, my opinion, that a liberal is someone who never accepts being in the wrong nor cares to listen to another person's point of view. They live for the 'pop culture' of today, and care about what a Hollywood actor does, meaning actor, is a person playing someone else and not being themselves, because if they really wanted to be and act themselves, they wouldn't be in Hollywood acting out some role. Right? To be rich or wealthy, doesn't mean to have a lot of money, it means much more than that, at least in a Conservative's mindset. Money as your only friend is to be a lonely person.
(True example, My step-mother loves having money, but doesn't care about us, her husband's children nor her husband, of 40 yrs., as she told him that, and she is a Trump-hater, so are her own children, all Trump-haters.)

    What a conundrum.
People who can not add 2 and 2 are determining the moral, social, and spiritual fate of the country. Sacrificing millions of unborn, disabled and elderly to their pagan gods!
And many still believe in their "gospel of avarice, hatred, and greed!"
This bleak winter I believe us a foretaste of what they hope to do
We who believe need to be like the colonists who stood up to the most powerful on Earth and its corrupt king.
We must pray and be ready if God calls.

Here in No. Alabama tornadoes are a threat, we even have 'tornado season'. Power outages are common & can last weeks. I recommend an automatic backup generator system. I can't afford one so I use my gasoline engine driven welder & back feed from my shop to the house- be sure to turn off the main breaker. Refrigerator , water heater, AC all work til I run out of fuel.

First, i want to say, rest in peace Rush Limbaugh, God needed another soldier in his war against the darkness, you will be a great warrior in God's army.
Second, many prayers going up to all that are affected by this unpresidential winter storm that has plowed through the south. My daughter lives in Oklahoma, while talking to her this morning I learned they got the same amount of snow as I did here in Michigan. The temperature there was minus 12, ours in Michigan was minus 1. I was so grateful they have not lost power and I pray they won't, their home is totally electric.
Third, Mike, it's time to buy your doggies a big ol heated bed, I don't blame them for giving you.."the look!" No fun freezing your tutu off cause your bathroom is outside! PS

Yes even old guys can shed a tear at his passing although with the suffering he took, God said come on up Rush you have done all you could. Many people all around the world will remember him most will respected him millions and millions loved him. The Haters don't matter most of them live without shame, love, or the ability to build something good they destroy and do what they do best, Hate. Rush tried to persuade u to drop the Hate and come to the light sometimes hate wins but it won't last, Rush lit enough candles to overcome your hate and his candle ISN"T sitting in the wind. I agree with you on the energy resource issue. Much needed power, especially in highly populated areas and hospitals should be from reliable energy resources, not wind or solar. The idea of using renewable resources is awesome, but this area of research and development has not produced a product that I know of that won't end up in a landfill at a later time than traditional battery cells. In the northeast here, many have placed solar panels on their roofs, and have successfully lowered their electric bills, but many have not ventured to solely rely on them yet, so I can't imagine a whole town or city relying on it or any other alternative energy resource. As for AOC a scientist? I read she did award winning biology research, but I think that was high school. She switched tracks in college. But everything looks good on paper. And now, am sure Bernie is teaching her the process of reconciliation as I write.

Governor, Losing Rush Limbaugh today was like losing a family member. I haven't felt that kind of grief since my pastor Rick Ferguson was killed in a roll over accident on July 25, 2002. One of the greatest Southern Baptist Preachers Denver Colorado has ever been blessed with. Rush was that kind of person. He is the greatest conservative broadcaster to ever live and there will never be another one like him. One can never say enough good things about what he did for conservatives. He will be severely missed in a country that so desperately needs great conservative voices. He wasn't afraid to call out these wicked leftists that are trying to destroy this country. Key word is try because I know that you, myself and thousands of other great conservatives will take up the torch and run with Rush's example and with Gods help keep the faith. May Rush Limbaugh rest in peace. May God bless his family in their time of loss.
