BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

“Huckabee" Preview

By Mike Huckabee

Come celebrate Easter with me tonight on “Huckbee” on TBN! Rep. Chuck Fleishmann will also drop by to tell us how Republicans are dealing with the flurry of radical actions from Democrats. I’ll visit with previous Huck’s Hero Xavier DeGroat, and with Jonathan Roumie and Dallas Jenkins, the star and director of the mega-hit streaming series on the life of Jesus, “The Chosen.” Laugh with Christian comic Brad Stine and some crazy news “In Case You Missed It.” And we’ll cap it all off with some great music for Easter from “The Voice” champion Jordan Smith.

It all starts tonight at 8 and 11 EST, 7 and 10 CST, on TBN. Please note that due to TBN’s special Easter programming, on Sunday, “Huckabee” will air an hour later than normal, at 10 p.m. EST/9 CST. To find out how you can watch TBN, from local cable and broadcast channels to streaming, visit https://www.huckabee.tv and click on “Channel Finder” on the top menu. You can stream previous episodes, highlights and online-only “Digital Exclusives,” including extended interviews, “In Case You Missed It” and “Facts of the Matter” segments, and extra performances by our great musical and comedy guests, all at https://www.huckabee.tv. You can also find past shows, highlights and digital exclusives on YouTube and my Facebook page.

Sunday is Coming

By Mike Huckabee

I’d like to wish all of you a happy and safe Easter, and I hope and pray that you will once again be able to celebrate with your families and in your churches.

Easter is the holiest of all holidays in the Christian calendar, but also the most joyful. The miracle of the Resurrection was not only the fulfillment of God’s promise that through His Son, our sins would be forgiven and we could have eternal life, but it also serves as a constant reminder that even in times when all seems dark and hopeless, God will never abandon us.

I hear from so many Christians who are very worried about the state of the world, and understandably so. Anti-Christian forces are on the march and seem to be winning in many ways. They fear that we may never be able to come back from such an aggressive assault.

But if you are feeling that way, then try to imagine how Christ’s followers felt on the day of His Crucifixion. Everything was dark, evil, and appeared hopeless. Those closest to Jesus were in fear for their own lives and felt that all they had devoted themselves to for three years died on that cross. They saw their Master and their hopes and faith buried in a borrowed tomb.

That was Friday. But then came Sunday. It was the day that three women went to the tomb to honor a man who was dead. Instead, they were the first to know that what they had witnessed on Friday wasn’t the last chapter. We all have a lot of Fridays in our lives: bad doctor reports; financial problems; a sick child; broken relationships; dangerous political movements; and for the past year, a deadly virus that derailed our lives and split apart families. But let’s not get lost in our Fridays and think the bad times will never end. Always remember: Sunday is coming. And God is good. All the time.

US Capitol locked down again

By Mike Huckabee

Friday, the US Capitol was locked down again after someone rammed a car through a barrier then attacked officers with a knife. One police officer was injured and another later died of injuries, while the attacker was shot dead by police. Our prayers for the injured officer and the family of the slain officer.

As expected, leftists, who never learn from experience (even extremely recent experience), quickly leaped to the conclusion that the attacker was a Trump supporting white supremacist trying to commit insurrection and they blamed Trump for his assault. In fact, he was identified as a 25-year-old African-American male whose (now deleted) Facebook posts show that he was a follower of the Rev. Louis Farrakhan and donor to the black supremacist Nation of Islam church.

A lot of those incorrect assumption tweets were also deleted, but Matt Margolis at PJ Media saved them for posterity.

You know, if you don’t want to be exposed as a racist hypocrite in situations like this, there are just two very simple rules to follow:

1. Wait until you have the facts before making public accusations.

2. Stop making assumptions about people based on your own prejudices about their skin color or political views.

But then, I guess if you believed in due process, basing your opinions on evidence and judging people by their character rather than the color of their skin, you wouldn’t be an “anti-racist” social justice warrior in good standing, would you?

The MLB knuckles under to the woke mob

By Mike Huckabee

Major League Baseball knuckled under to the woke mob and pressure from our ill-informed President (who is continuing Obama’s tradition of actively badmouthing American cities and businesses for political reasons – remember when Obama urged people not to hold conventions in Las Vegas?) and announced that it’s moving the All-Star game and its spring draft out of Atlanta in retaliation for Georgia passing new election integrity measures.

Critics called the decision “pathetic,” and pointed out that you have to show ID to pick up tickets to attend an MLB game and to buy a beer once you’re inside, but they’re yanking the All-Star Game over Georgia making people show ID to vote (which is backed by 75% of Americans, including large majorities of blacks and other minorities.)

MLB, Coke, Delta Airlines (try getting on one of their planes without showing ID) and (of course) Hollywood movie and TV producers are among the big corporations who appear to be bowing to leftist pressure to punish Georgia for trying to make its elections secure. But it’s possible they might be about to learn a costly lesson that two can play the financial blackmail game, since former President Trump is calling for a boycott of all such companies that fold like cheap card tables every time the leftist Twitter mob yaps.

Trump makes the point that baseball is already struggling for viewers (I suspect those cardboard cutout fans in the stands aren’t entirely due to COVID) and really can’t afford to have 74 million+ Trump voters go find something better to do with their time, like watching “Huckabee” on their DVRs.

I’ve never been a big fan of boycotts, since they tend to harm lower level workers more than “woke” CEOs. But in this case, they started it. Major League Baseball doesn’t seem concerned that its decision will harm regular people who work at the stadium in Atlanta, many of them African-Americans. Maybe hurting their pocketbooks will move their stockholders to remind them that the leftist view isn’t the only view in America, and they're in business to make money, not virtue-signal.

(Just FYI: I recently saw a YouTube video in which a self-professed Diet Coke addict did a March Madness-style blind taste test against other diet colas and was shocked to discover he liked the cheap Big K house brand sold at Kroger better.)

I might also be more sympathetic to their views if they’d actually read the Georgia law instead of leaping on the leftist bandwagon against it and parroting a load of outright lies, like claims that it will make it harder to vote (only illegally), shorten voting hours (it doesn’t; in fact, it expands early voting), ban giving water to people in voting lines (it just bans campaign volunteers from handing out free stuff at polling places, a ban that’s in place in many other states) and return to the days of Jim Crow (much of it just returns to the standards set by the legislature before officials loosened them without authority for the 2020 election.)

As long as I brought up Trump, I’ll remind you that Facebook and Twitter banned Trump because they claim he spreads false, divisive “misinformation.” Well, President Biden has been spreading a number of lies about the Georgia election law, and repeats them even after they’ve been publicly debunked (the Washington Post even gave him “Four Pinocchios” for one of them.) His lies and misinformation are now undermining trust in the next election and causing division and serious financial hardships for innocent people.

The next step is clear: Twitter and Facebook need to ban Joe Biden immediately!

A Reader Writes Back...

I always enjoy reading what you have in your newsletters and I enjoy how you present it. I especially like reading your Scripture of the Day.

Concerning The "Excluded Workers Fund" article, it sounds like the Democrats are trying to buying votes or someone's pockets are going to get padded for one fictitious reason or another. I believe that this is an excellent waste of taxpayer dollars. But then, it would appear that the Democrats like to waste money.

Thanks.

    Thesesl.are trying times
As a young believer in 1973 the Lord was giving me glimpses thru his Word of hard times ahead.
It is interesting that the dragon in Scripture is a picture of Satan according to some commentators.
The animal.symbolizing China has always been the Dragon!
Make of it what you will.

I did not watch MLB or the NFL last year because of all of the politics. I was getting ready to watch my Red Sox this year when the MLB pulls this stunt! My not watching will hurt me more than MLB but I feel like I have to do something to protest these woke companies. Oh yes, not buying Coke products either.
