BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

Officer Sicknick's death --- a clarification

By Mike Huckabee

Significantly, when Brian Sicknick’s body lay in honor in the Capitol Rotunda (a rare distinction for private citizens), it was actually in the form of cremated remains. An urn.

It was as ashes that Sicknick’s body was transported to Arlington Cemetery before being laid to rest there.

The same report on this from the WASHINGTON EXAMINER goes on to say that “the specifics of Sicknick’s death are still unclear and are being investigated by law enforcement.”

It’s interesting to go back to early February and read CNN’s account of how law enforcement was “struggling to build a federal murder case” but were frustrated in their search for evidence. The CNN story does not make it clear that Sicknick was cremated; they write about when “he” (as opposed to his ashes) will arrive at the Capitol for a ceremony. Perhaps they didn’t know at that time that “he” was in an urn.

This story links to another CNN report about the “body” of Officer Sicknick set to lie in honor. He was to be “buried” at Arlington Memorial Cemetery. It was House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer who announced this. Again, no word about the fact that his body had been cremated. Again, either the reporters at CNN were not aware that he had been cremated, or else they were deliberately downplaying that fact by not mentioning it at all.

Does anyone see anything wrong with this picture?

For three months, there has been an open investigation into the cause of death for Brian Sicknick. No determination has been made, at least not one that has been announced publicly, and even his family has apparently not been told how he died. Investigators have been trying to make a case for murder. And the “murder victim” was cremated before a cause of death could be determined and placed on the death certificate.

Our understanding is that Sicknick’s parents’ consent would likely have had to be obtained before a cremation of his remains could be done. This would have had to be done in very early February at the latest. Perhaps they consented, but considering they’re still struggling to find out how he died, how likely is this? We're not espousing any conspiracy theory; we just want to know. So if anyone knows about the laws in Washington DC –- or Sicknick’s home state of New Jersey --- concerning this, please tell us.

In the meantime, we thought we’d add this bit of information just to help complete the picture.

Stop comparing your political opponents to Hitler

By Mike Huckabee

Wednesday at sundown through Thursday at sundown was Yom HaShoah, or Holocaust Martyrs and Heroes Remembrance Day, on the Jewish calendar. This year’s theme was “Until the Very Last Jew: Eighty Years Since the Onset of Mass Annihilation.” Because of COVID, most ceremonies this year had to be held online. I wanted to share some of this year’s observance with you, along with a couple of excellent articles on its importance.

In a time of rising anti-Semitism, a Holocaust denial movement, and too many people who have been miseducated about history and take Nazism so lightly that they use any occasion to compare their political opponents to Hitler, it is more important than ever to remind the world of the genuine horrors of the Holocaust and the approximately six million Jews who were persecuted, tortured and murdered. If you have ever visited the grounds of the former concentration camps, or spent time visiting with Holocaust survivors, as I have many times, you will never forget. But many people haven’t done that, so Holocaust Martyrs and Heroes Remembrance Day is vital to keep the memories alive, not only to honor the victims and heroes but to make sure nothing like it ever happens again, and not just to the Jewish people but to any scapegoated group.

Here are some links that I very much hope you will explore:

To start with, here’s a video of the opening ceremonies from Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Israel. It includes a speech by Israeli President Reuven Rivlin:

The museum also has a page of information and photos about this and previous Holocaust Remembrance Days. It includes links to the text of some of this year’s major speeches, profiles of Holocaust survivors, and much more:

And if you visit their home page, you’ll find a treasure trove of information and resources related to the Holocaust: https://www.yadvashem.org.

As a strong rebuttal to those who claim the Holocaust didn’t really happen, read this excellent piece by blogger Jeff Dunetz. It details the history of the liberation of the death camps; the actual descriptions of what they found written by Generals Eisenhower, Patten and Bradley; and the story of what Eisenhower, with remarkable foresight about humanity’s ability to ignore reality, ordered be done to make sure the horrors were documented for posterity so they could never be denied or forgotten.

One unsettling detail: Dunetz links to graphic newsreel footage of the horrors, but even though he posted it himself on YouTube, the site won’t let him embed it because “it has been identified by the YouTube community as inappropriate or offensive to some audiences.” I would be worried about anyone who didn’t find it offensive, but that’s no reason to censor it.

The social media sites in their self-assumed roles as censors are now doing what the news media did after 9/11: censoring footage of the attack because it was too disturbing. Result: we now have a generation of young Americans who don’t remember 9/11 and think it’s just paranoia or racism for us to care about secure borders and keeping radical states like Iran from getting nuclear weapons. As George Santayana warned, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

Joe Biden's Gun Control

By Mike Huckabee

As expected, on Thursday, President Biden announced his executive orders on gun control, and as usual, the people pushing these laws proved that they have no idea what they’re talking about. Biden himself made a number of false statements about guns, including denouncing the “gun show loophole” (which doesn’t really exist; you already have to undergo a background check to buy a gun at a gun show)…claiming that the ban on “assault weapons” (there’s really no such thing) reduced crime (it didn’t, which is why it was allowed to expire)…claiming that only gun manufacturers are exempt from being sued (they can be sued under certain conditions such as negligence; they just can’t be sued for the criminal misuse of their product by a third party, which makes sense: it would be like suing GM because someone ran over a person with his Chevy)…

And his Attorney General Merrick Garland proved that he can’t tell an AR-15 from C3PO.

It’s as if the AR-15 were the only gun whose name these Democrats have memorized, so they blame it for everything, even though 0.1% or less of murders involve AR variants. By comparison, 5.7% of murders are committed with hands, fists or feet and 3.9% with blunt objects such as hammers or baseball bats.

By the way, I don’t have the numbers, but I’d be willing to guess that more crimes are committed by criminals who are in the US illegally because of Joe Biden than are committed with AR-15s. So if he’s going to blame gun manufacturers for providing guns that criminals use, why doesn’t he deserve blame for providing America with the criminals?

Biden also announced his pick as head of the BATF (which he twice called the “AFT”) was David Chipman. He’s a radical anti-gun rights activist with a history of crazy, devisive comments about gun owners that will make for entertaining fodder at a confirmation hearing.

His record includes pushing a fake story that the Branch Davidians in Waco shot down multiple police helicopters as an excuse to push gun control. He seems to think that Americans owning guns are fueling violence in Mexico (tell it to Obama and Biden, whose botched “Fast and Furious” operation supplied Mexican gangs with guns.) And he recently mocked first-time gun buyers as dangerous “Tiger King”-like loons who are stockpiling food for a zombie apocalypse.

By the way, many recent first-time gun buyers have been black Americans, concerned with protecting themselves from violence by gangs and rioters that Democrats refused to do anything about.

The truth of the matter is that Democrats could do something to reduce gun violence, but it would require admitting reality and ending their obsession with disarming law-abiding citizens. The solution is to stop defunding police and start enforcing laws in Democrat-run cities like Chicago, where the vast majority of gun killings take place, usually involving gangs. News flash: for all the hand-wringing over law-abiding Americans buying guns for self-defense, there is no epidemic of gun violence in Ottumwa, Iowa.

A Reader Writes Back...

I am 3rd generation Navy, and when I watch what has [been] and is happening in this country, my heart breaks and I become angry. I know that had I done what the FBI did with Crossfire Hurricane, I’d be raided in the wee hours of the morning and then locked up and keys thrown away!

Why do Dems always get away with everything and we Republicans never stop them? I’m scared for my country and future generations. I oftentimes want to give up and die, but I can’t as I love my country so much and will go down fighting for it. Thank you, Mr. Huckabee, for always sharing truth and humor. I don’t think I could continue without being able to read your words. I wish Sarah well in her run! She’s an exceptional woman blessed by God. Take care and God Bless America!

My father's Army outfit liberated two of the concentration camps in Czechoslovakia. He said before they could get to the camps they had to eliminate the SS Troops guarding it. He brought back a photo album of one of the troopers and one of the pictures in it prominently showed the trooper holding up the head of someone he had beheaded. I donated this and other items to the Holocaust Memorial Museum in West Bloomfield, Michigan. What I didn't donate, but which they especially wanted, was two hand drawn caricatures, drawn by an inmate and given to my father. They are inscribed, "To the great American liberator". One picture is of Hitler and the other of my Dad and his big nose. Before I retired from teaching, I attended one of our Reading meetings and the guest speaker was a lady that was a former inmate of one of the concentration camps. She was just a child at the time and she gave a first-hand telling of what she went through, how her mother eventually found her (they had been separated into different concentration camps) and how the Lord enabled her to escape and get free. I don't remember this woman's name but I'm sure the district (Aiken county Public Schools) has kept a record of it. Dad didn't talk much about the war but what he did say was no fantasy.

I am hearing so many union members upset about the fact that the State of Georgia passed a bill to protect the citizens of the state from illegal voting.
The next time a union in an area of the readers of this is having an election, I think we should choose a member of the community that is union neutral and all go and vote for this person. I'm sure these unions don't require an ID to vote and we can maybe get these unions to look favorably at Conservative candidates.

General Eisenhower ordered many pictures of the concentration camps and the horrors found there because he said one day they would be denied.

People that refer people to Hitler are people that can not solve problems their brain is not fully developed and has very little chance for development thats is all they have a treacherous name calling event. These people need to be ignored discounted and removed from the issue. They just are not capable of solving an issue. The calling a population racist the is same thing the way to stop ignorance is to ignore or just say yea we are racist and walk away and find a person of intellect to solve an issue. I can not allow my time to be wasted with dense people that are infected with so much hate they become intolerable to listen too. Our President our Vice President Al Sharpen people with toxic brain solve nothing.

"By comparison, 5.7% of murders are committed with hands, fists or feet and 3.9% with blunt objects such as hammers or baseball bats."
Also there are more children in overcrowded cages ,along the U.S - Mexico border, being raped on a daily basis by perverts who should be in jail, than there are by AR-15's or any other type of firearm.

I have been to one of the Nazi death camps in Poland. I have toured Israel and visited their holocaust museum, as well as ours in D.C. in Israel I have visited in the home of a survivor, a very vibrant women who had been a child at the time. So, yes, those who throw around Hitler’s name, and call people Nazis and deny the Holocaust are either ignorant, or lie for effect. Frankly, .I am beginning to think we are surrounded by people who have simply gone off the deep end. I guess the things that bother me most are that we are all perfectly aware that the people of the left have, and are doing, some very dishonorable and genuinely evil things and they are getting away with it. I believe they will continue to do so. I believe people are afraid to speak out as bad things will happen to them or to their families. I actually worry about people like the one occasionally resenting Senator and his family. I suspect he is being threatened. If they succeed in packing SCOTUS we will no longer need to worry about a coming in immigration problem just a going out one. At 80 I am shaking my head wondering how we got to this point. We just elected a President who in probably mentally diminishing. This is the most powerful position in the world. If I were our allies, I would be terrified. Of course the full intent, I am convinced, was to end up with a politically correct very far left woman as President.

I watched yesterday a documentary on Amazon Prime Movies called "The Concentration Camps" that had real footage of the camps. I watched the entire documentary. I have no words; all I could do was pray. The footage is from U S and British Military as they were capturing the various camps. How can such evil exist?

Don't you feel sorry for Our Generation ?
We are stuck between the heroes and heroines that were our parents and grandparents who brought down the Axis and the Evil Empire and who fought against the Depression and look at the generation after us who are afraid of being called names by people they don't even respect.
But I have hope because look at the people the Lord God used to do his work in the Bible. He doesn't need Perfect People as we both know and they weren't always willing but if God is in charge and has Mercy on our country we don't have anything to worry about . But maybe God almighty has to burn down the barn to get rid of the rats.
Has President Trump stated when he left office the swamp was deeper than we thought . I agree it's a suck hole but we can win if we just believe in what we're fighting for the willing to stand the way our ancestors did.

I love you as a brother in the Lord. But, you need to understand where we're at in history. Everyone is comparing Biden to Hitler, because he is following Hitler's playbook, almost to the letter. God put him in office because it is time for the countdown to the start of the END. And certain things have to be done, weather we like it or not.

I just get sick when I see what is happening in this Country. I don't know who is advising President Biden but he is bringing America down. I watch Newsmax not the mainline stations to get the facts. If someone is good, they smear them. I worked in Budget and we will never pay back with interest all he is wasting. Lord Help up.

Interesting articles. I see the Marxists left continuing to spread lies about Trump and the right as a typical Marxist/CCP technique of using a false narrative and smoke and mirrors to gaslight the sheeple. They hate all that is good about America where freedom originated.
European royalty have always hated us because it presents a real narrative. How faith in the living God is the only thing to inspire people to stand against tyranny. Why the CCP and muslims are attacking, torturing and slaughtering Christians and Jews.
Now bankrupt morally and spiritually there last step is to bankrupt us financially. I foresee many rising up.
    What are your thoughts Governor?

Biden is still playing his game of "Misfit Bingo", that started when he chose the one democrat presidential candidate that one candidate who got no (that's ZERO) delegates in the primaries to be VP. It continued on with Pete (I'm qualified to be secretary of Transportation because I used to ride the train) Buttegieg, and now he puts a laughable clown in charge of BATF. Biden's cabinet looks like one of those clown cars filled with an unbelievable number of clowns, accept the circus clowns all have some talent. Haven't seen much from Bide, his VP or cabinet.
