Two of our stories from last week –- one about the 1984 interview with former KGB propagandist Yuri Bezmenov, in which he explains how the left took over education in a “long game” to indoctrinate generations of Americans, and the other about the approval and likely passage of California’s terrible new “ethnic studies” curriculum –- generated some excellent comments and suggestions from readers. Here’s one that looks especially promising.

From Hiedi F:

Noticed on Fox News today: Parents Defending Education: defendinged.org

I will pursue more information, but you may want to as well. Accepting complaints and notifications from parents concerned about what is being taught. Investigating said complaints and keeping parents anonymous to avoid backlash and cancellation. Since mine are all out of school now, I may join the organization. Would you check this out with me?

From the Gov:

Thank you, Hiedi. We’re glad to check this out. According to their impressive website,

"Parents Defending Education is a national grassroots organization working to reclaim our schools from activists promoting harmful agendas. Through network and coalition building, investigative reporting, litigation, and engagement on local, state and national policies, we are fighting indoctrination in the classroom --- and for the restoration of a healthy, non-political education for our kids.”

As social/political indoctrination is happening all over --- NOT just in California by any means --- the website features a helpful map of the United States. Click on the location, and local news from school districts will pop up, along with organizations of concerned parents and educators in that area.

The website also features stories from around the country, such as one we saw from former WALL STREET JOURNAL reporter Asra Nomani about Naperville School District 203 in Illinois, which paid “diversity consultant” Dena Nicole Simmons $10,000 for a 60-minute Zoom “keynote” address last month. That’s right: she made $175 a minute doing this --- nice work if you can get it. As we’ve pointed out, there’s lots of money to be made in this new field, and in the age of covid, you don’t even have to leave your house. Just major in Ethnic Studies, become an “expert,” sit down at your laptop and talk the right political line.

Anyway, we encourage you to check out this website and find ways to get involved. Parents Defending Education says it’s time to...

EMPOWER (“Learn the facts, get organized, know your rights”)

EXPOSE (“Investigate and expose the truth inside your school”)

ENGAGE (“Parents across the country are joining the fight --- learn how you can help”)

If you think there’s not much you as an individual can do, they say no effort is too small. You don't have to have your own children in school. If you have a tip, send it in. Share articles on the website with friends. Ask questions at school if you’re not comfortable with some of the subject matter they’re teaching. Escalate your concerns if they don’t answer to your satisfaction. Join an existing organization, or, if there isn’t one in your area, consider getting one started yourself.

Importantly, this organization keeps their membership list and any communications confidential.

"We’re building an army of Davids,” they say, “and we want you on our team.”

This is a newly-formed organization; the WASHINGTON TIMES ran an excellent piece on it several days ago. Highly recommended.

Nicole Neily, president of the group, is quoted as saying, “There’s this feeling among some that this is just a New York and California thing, but it’s not; it’s everywhere. It’s in private schools, parochial schools and red states.” And that is true. Critical Race Theory, in all its toxicity, has taken hold in our schools. This teaches white kids that they are automatically racist and guilty of “whiteness,” a perverse view that in itself is as racist as any Jim Crow law ever was. And, perhaps even more tragically, it teaches black kids to assume that white kids hate them and carry the responsibility for generations of whatever might be seen as “inequity” today.

CRT was developed from an earlier invention called Critical Theory as a pretense for implementing a Big Government system of “income equality,” which is, essentially, Communism. It’s also something to teach instead of real subjects such as advanced science, math, history (not the anti-American rewrite) and classic literature. And the leftists who have been working on implementing this agenda, literally for generations, are well on their way to achieving it if it isn’t stopped.

According to the WASHINGTON TIMES, Neily “envisions DefendingEd.org as a network of concerned parents who can swap horror stories and seek political or legal solutions.”

One of their advisers is writer and documentary filmmaker Christopher Rufo. You can check out some of his work here.

Thanks again, Hiedi, for suggesting we check into this. I have no tie with this nonprofit organization and, so far, can go only by what they’re saying online, but it sounds like an excellent way to get involved. As those on the left find power in organizing, we must do the same. A nationwide network like this helps give us power, and we need all the power we can get to fight back and retake the schools.

One thing we can do RIGHT NOW is pull our kids out of schools that indoctrinate them with leftist ideology. Candace Owens, in an appearance on SUNDAY MORNING FUTURES with Maria Bartiromo, advocated home-schooling. She said that, aside from being taught to hate each other, kids in leftist schools are being deprived of "hard academics" while being made into an "ignorant group who vote based on emotion." Candace gets an A-plus for insight.

I’d like to close with comments from another reader, from Canada, who as a student had the opportunity to study Russian history and culture and never forgot Khruschev’s warning to the West. Instead of garbage like Critical Race Theory, students should be learning this.

From Barry:

Mike, I am a Canadian subscriber to your newsletter since before the Nov 3rd. election. We Canadians should be very concerned about what is happening on both sides of our border with our friends to the south. Our country and yours are tied so very closely that when one hurts, the other hurts as well. We are that close!

When I was a first-year engineering student, in 1964, I had to take an elective, and I chose Russian History and Culture. It was fascinating. I do remember hearing Nikita Khruschev deliver his promise, that "one day, we will bury your children’s children." Then, only 20 years later, we were warned by Bezmenov that it was already too late --- in 1984, the same year written so prophetically about by George Orwell --- to stop the tide of Communism. Perhaps if you had highlighted that year, 1984, instead of just mentioning the "1980s," it might have been seen to be far more urgent than people realize. It probably is too late! In my opinion, Donald Trump was America's last hope...

From the Gov:

Thank you so much for writing, Barry. And, yes, we did see the “1984” connection –- didn’t use it only because these days it seems we’re always pointing out “1984” connections. Sadly, we could do one of those every day. But I can’t assume it’s too late, and whenever possible I’ll be making concrete suggestions for actions we can take.

So much is being focused on the Oscars later this month…a gala event with lavish parties to award people for pretending to be someone they’re not…nobodies thinking they are somebodies. I wish it was counterbalanced by the “We, the People Awards,” two hours of celebrating Americans. Not only would we celebrate first responders, scientists, and inventors to share their stories, but the biggest pumpkin, grocery baggers, peewee league players, the biggest pig, spelling bee champs, people who are helping others and making a difference, etc. We would make it about jubilant stories that celebrate us. Apolitical? It would have to run on a major network opposite the Oscars.

Pipe dream, I know. After all we have been through I think the ratings would trump the Oscars.

Henry Morris in his book, The Long war against God does a great job pointing out how education was taken over by the humanists. I highly recommend the book if you have not read it. Satan is alive and well and doing everything to keep folks from accepting Jesus Christ as their personal saviour.

The left is pushing really hard for socialism. I am almost 70 years old I've seen countries adopt socialism. Those countries adopted communism in short order. I do everything I can do to fight socialism every day.
