BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY

Three months later: what really killed Brian Sicknick?

By Mike Huckabee

A few people who really are journalists are wondering why we STILL haven’t been given an official cause of death for Officer Brian Sicknick.

Recall that Sicknick, 42, was the Capitol Hill police officer who, according to initial reports of the January 6 breach of the Capitol Building, was fatally struck in the head with a fire extinguisher. Witnesses said he was taken out on a stretcher, a bloody gash on his head. “Journalists” later reported sensationally that Sicknick, a 12-year veteran of the force, had been attacked by the pro-Trump mob and beaten to death with a fire extinguisher.

But the witnesses were wrong, and so were the journalists who reported this over and over. Yes, sadly, Sicknick died late the next day, but we know he did not suffer an injury to his head. This kind of early misinformation is typical; initial reports of chaotic events are almost always way off the mark. But it’s been three months. And there seems to be an astounding lack of curiosity among the news media concerning what really ended Sicknick’s life.

A few are expressing concern. Stacey Matthews at LEGAL INSURRECTION has a new piece that dares to ask the question, why has the chief medical examiner in DC still not released the details of how Brian Sicknick died, and told us more about Ashli Babbitt’s death as well?

Five people who were on Capitol Hill during the rally ended up dying. As Matthews reports, Washington, DC, Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Francisco J. Diaz has determined that Kevin Greeson, 55, and Benjamin Phillips, 50, died from natural causes, in both cases heart attacks. Roseanne Boyland, 34, died of “acute amphetamine intoxication.” (THE NEW YORK TIMES had monumentally screwed up by originally reporting that she was “killed in a crush of fellow rioters during their attempt to fight through a police line.”) Ashli Babbitt, 35, died of a gunshot wound to her left shoulder; recall that she was shot by a member of Capitol Hill security.

As for the details surrounding her homicide, we don’t have those, either. As another real journalist, Glenn Greenwald, tweeted, “...not only have there been no investigations released or facts given about what the DC Medical Examiner is calling the ‘homicide’ of Ashli Babbitt --- who was unarmed --- they still have not even released the name of the officer who fatally shot her in the neck at close range.”

Gosh, could it possibly be that the media don’t want to be bothered when facts get in the way of their chosen narrative? Julie Kelly at AMERICAN GREATNESS says that’s the case in an opinion piece called “Media, Politicians Still Spreading the ‘Big Lie’ about Officer Sicknick."

Just hours after Sicknick died on January 7, the Capitol Hill Police Department issued a statement saying he had “passed away due to injuries sustained while on-duty. Officer Sicknick was responding to the riots on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol and was injured while physically engaging with protesters. He returned to his division office and collapsed. He was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.”

Surprisingly, even the WASHINGTON EXAMINER passed along the premature conclusion that “Sicknick died as a result of injuries sustained in the riot.” We found that wording in a story about the two Capitol Hill officers who committed suicide days after the riot. This is what happens in the media world; news outlets just keep picking up what others have reported, whether it’s accurate or not.

Sicknick’s death was certainly exploited to further the narrative of a deadly pro-Trump mob. His body lay in state in the Capitol rotunda. Kelly describes this as “a somber memorial attended by Joe Biden and his wife and well as lawmakers from both political parties –- the weekend before House Democrats launched their second impeachment trial of Donald Trump.”

After that, his remains were transported to Arlington Memorial Cemetery for another public ceremony attended by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Republican congressional leaders.

By the way, the trial memorandum from Trump’s impeachment STILL INCLUDES the allegation that “the insurrectionists killed a Capitol Police officer by striking him in the head with a fire extinguisher.” Ah, but it cites evidence: the (incorrect) January 8 story in THE NEW YORK TIMES. They were using this to construct a narrative: that Trump had incited murder.

Three months have passed since Sicknick’s death, and the DC Medical Examiner’s Office still isn’t disclosing the cause. A spokesperson for his office said in an email to AMERICAN GREATNESS, “The...medical examiners comply with the National Association of Medical Examiners’ (NAME) standard to determine the cause and manner of death within 90 days; however, for cases that are more complex, it could be longer.”

Kyle Becker at TRENDING POLITICS wonders about the delay as well, and also the fact that whoever shot Ashli Babbitt still has not been identified.

As long as they drag out releasing Sicknick’s cause of death, the media can continue with their story that he died in the line of duty and it’s all Trump’s fault. There is no evidence of this at all. Sicknick apparently seemed okay to his co-workers later that day when he returned to his office. Family members said they spoke to him that night and he seemed fine. His mother told the DAILY MAIL in an exclusive interview that she thinks he died of a stroke.

This is an excellent report, with a detailed timeline. As told here, Sicknick’s mother was “unequivocal in her assertion that Officer Brian Sicknick was not struck on the head and as far as the family knows her son had a fatal stroke.”

"He wasn’t hit on the head, no,” she said. “We think he had a stroke, but we don’t know anything for sure. We’d love to know what happened.” But it seems the only story they’ve heard is the one Democrats find useful.

Another possibility is that he had a delayed reaction to the capsaicin in pepper spray or bear spray. He texted his brother the evening of the 6th, and told him, “I got pepper-sprayed twice.” The brother said he was “in good shape.”

On January 8, Sicknick’s father told REUTERS that on the 7th, as they rushed from their home in New Jersey to the DC hospital that had placed him on a ventilator, they were told he’d suffered a stroke and had a blood clot on his brain. He died before they could get there.

The family didn’t want his death politicized, but as the DAILY MAIL reports, “Less than 24 hours after his death, with no autopsy, no confirmation of any sign of blunt trauma, no investigation nor due process...Pelosi called for the ‘perpetrators’ of Sicknick’s ‘attack’ to be brought to justice and vowed, ‘We will not forget.’” Well, we won’t forget, either, how the Democrats exploited the as-yet unexplained death of a police officer for their own political gain.

Jack Hanna

By Mike Huckabee

The children of animal expert and beloved TV personality “Jungle” Jack Hanna announced that he has been diagnosed with dementia, now believed to be Alzheimer’s disease. It has progressed so quickly that he can no longer participate in public life. For many years, Hanna has been affiliated with the Columbus Zoo and delighted generations of TV audiences with his own series such as “Animal Adventures” and “Into The Wild” and his many appearances with various animals on talk shows such as those of David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon.

His family asked for privacy, noting the irony since he loves interacting with people. They assured fans that while his health has deteriorated quickly, “his great sense of humor continues to shine through. And yes – he still wears his khakis at home.”

I think I speak for all of us when I express gratitude for the many years of entertainment Jack Hanna has given us, and for all the work he’s done to promote conservation and to educate the public about animals. And I’m sure you’ll join me in sending prayers and good wishes to him and his family at this difficult time. That includes Suzi, his wife of 53 years, who is currently recovering from major surgery. His family’s full statement is at this link.

Also, AARP magazine recently revealed that music legend Tony Bennett is battling Alzheimer’s. That full story is at this link, and I hope you’ll remember him and his family in your prayers as well.

A "bald-faced lie" that turns out to be the truth

By Mike Huckabee

When President Trump and his staff moved into the White House in 2017, they claimed that they found a number of derogatory notes hidden inside the drawers, cabinets and other places, saying things like “You will fail” and “You’re not going to make it.” When Trump staffers complained about this, assuming they were left by outgoing Obama staffers, Susan Rice (now a high-ranking Biden official) accused them of telling a “bald-faced lie.”

Now, comedian Dave Chappelle has revealed that there were indeed dirty anti-Trump notes hidden in the White House, but they were written by liberal celebrities, not Obama staffers. It was during one of Obama’s star-studded goodbye parties. Chappelle wouldn’t say who left the notes, but said he saw them doing it.

So chalk up one more Trump-era “bald-faced lie” that turns out to be the truth.

“Everything You Know Is Wrong” Dept

By Mike Huckabee

Remember how we heard from the left for four years that Trump only ran for President to “enrich himself”? Which seemed odd, since he was already a billionaire, he had to walk away from his multinational corporation, and he donated back his entire Presidential salary.

Well, there’s even further confirmation of what a crock that claim was. A new report by Forbes estimates that Trump lost $1.1 billion during his Presidency, with his fortune falling by nearly a third, from $3.5 billion to $2.4 billion. That dropped him almost 300 places in Forbes’ billionaire rankings. This during a time when the S&P 500 increased by 70%. If he had divested himself of all his holdings and sold them on day one, he would have ended his presidency up to $1.6 billion richer. It doesn’t say why, but I’m assuming all the mindless rage, groundless lawsuits, partisan investigations and fake news tarnished his brand.

But hey: guess who did get incredibly rich by being in the White House: Barack and Michelle Obama. The Obamas’ current estimated net worth is $40 million, over 30 times their net worth when they entered the White House.

To be clear, I’m not begrudging them their fortune. If publishers, Netflix, corporate speech bookers and others want to pay them big bucks, they have every right to say yes. But please spare me the pious lectures about how Trump only ran for President to enrich himself and that at a certain point, people have enough money. That goes over a lot better when you’re not saying it from the veranda of your $8.1 million mansion in DC or your $11.75 million, 30-acre oceanfront estate in Martha’s Vineyard.

And while we’re at it, has anyone noticed that liberal Democrats who lecture us about the evils of capitalism and the crisis of global warming always seem to live in multi-million dollar homes on the beach?

A closer look at 2022

By Mike Huckabee

We’ve written in this newsletter a number of times about how, despite the chaos unleashed by the Democrats’ takeover of Washington, on the state level, Republicans had a very good election year in 2020. As many conservative commentators have noted, it’s baffling how a losing candidate like Trump could have such long coattails and the most popular Presidential contender of all time, Biden, had none at all. ‘Tis a puzzlement!

But because we could all use some reinforcements these days to keep our optimism up, here’s another look at just how well situated the GOP is on the state level, which bodes well for the 2022 elections. However, this also shows how important it is to mobilize to stop HR1, the “For The People Act” (actually, the “Legalize Vote Fraud Act.”)

Biden caves on Iran

By Mike Huckabee

All things considered, I’m surprised that it actually took this long for President Biden to cave in to Iran and start laying plans to remove most of the sanctions that were keeping them from being a threat to Israel, their neighbors, the US and the world so he can reinstate Obama’s disastrous Iran nuclear deal. Jazz Shaw has more at HotAir.com.

A Reader Writes Back...

I am 3rd generation Navy, and when I watch what has [been] and is happening in this country, my heart breaks and I become angry. I know that had I done what the FBI did with Crossfire Hurricane, I’d be raided in the wee hours of the morning and then locked up and keys thrown away!

Why do Dems always get away with everything and we Republicans never stop them? I’m scared for my country and future generations. I oftentimes want to give up and die, but I can’t as I love my country so much and will go down fighting for it. Thank you, Mr. Huckabee, for always sharing truth and humor. I don’t think I could continue without being able to read your words. I wish Sarah well in her run! She’s an exceptional woman blessed by God. Take care and God Bless America!

A Closer Look a 2022! Whats missing is Bidens Lame attempt to Court Packing by saying he has often opined at the shortcomings of the Court? Really? I have seen tapes of him saying it would be a disaster to PACK the Court! It's NOT What he says it's What Susan Rice DOES.

It has been three months since Officer Brian Sicknick and AF Vet Ashli Babbitt lost their lives for 'no reason' or gain, yet the American public is kept in the dark concerning those two deaths! “Capitol Insurrection?” You need to get that video Laura Ingrahm had on her program one night, Mike. It clearly showed the shooting of the AF Vet. The shooter of Babbitt is a black man, but it is not clear in what capacity he was serving. The following is ‘my theory’ and a possible reason little has been forthcoming about this “shooting.”

My thinking is based on being involved with firearms my entire life, including a 20-year career in the Marine Corps. In that video, you initially see the ‘shooter’ pointing his handgun at people closest to him on his right. He then swings his aim to the left towards his center and, just as he stops, the shot is made striking the unarmed Vet. There is much to know about what is going on in this sequence. When you play the video in slo-mo, you can see the shooter, even before starting to change his point of aim, has his trigger finger fully engaged with the BOOM actuator (trigger). This single fact is a violation of proper safe handgun operation and especially so with a striker-fired pistol! Unless you are immediately prepared to destroy what you are aiming at, and intending to shoot, that finger remains OUTSIDE the trigger guard resting on the slide NOT even the guard. WHY? Because when ON that trigger you are +-5 lbs of pressure from releasing something you CANNOT CALL BACK! The human body pumps out a HEAVY dose of adrenaline when perceiving a possible Life or Death encounter, even folk having experienced such still have to deal with that. Two things are guaranteed, especially for a first-timer, you get tunnel vision and lose fine motor skills, in that adrenaline rush that is married to the ‘fight or flight response.' I contend that this gunny did not intend to shoot the woman (the only person shot during the entire event!), and probably was not even aware that he had released the shot. He was so amped up that in swinging that handgun and stopping it was all the extra, unfelt, pressure needed to launch that un-recallable shot!

BTW, this is by far NOT the first time an ‘unintentional discharge’ under duress has occurred. To illustrate: Three police officers had a suspect captured, two officers had him face down on the concrete, hands behind his back, applying the cuffs. The third officer standing about 8-10 feet away was pointing her weapon in the direction of the three, her two pals, and the perp who was now all but in handcuffs. The real “gunnies” of us watching the video we’re waiting for the BOOM! WHY? That officer still pointing her gun in the direction of the three had ‘her BOOM actuator’ fully on that bullet launcher. She also appeared still amped up over whatever went down in getting this perp down, and the BOOM came - by God’s Grace, nobody got dead or even shot, the bullet hit the concrete just slightly in front of and to the right of those three still on the ground! Hopefully, that officer only rides a desk now and is unarmed!!

Hated phrase, the bottom line for this "insurrection shooter" is, at what point did he think ‘his life was in immediate mortal danger’ that would have induced him to “intentionally” discharge that weapon? That is what every CCW licensee would HAVE TO articulate to a judge if, God forbid, we have to shoot anyone!!

Another interesting point is that nobody has noted the different responses by the Capitol police compared to the 'riot police' in their interaction with "peaceful(?) protesters." Many of the officers in the Capitol building, including the shooter of that AF Veteran, had their lethal force weapons drawn and pointed at the "insurrectionists." The riot police engaged with Molotov cocktails and brickbat attackers with shields and batons ONLY, never drawing their lethal force weapons!! The difference for that change in the "rules of engagement?" Are those people inside that Capitol building more valuable than those shop owners that had their businesses destroyed and some had their lives taken??

There are photos, where officers had weapons drawn and pointed, indicating that others were guilty of violating "safe handgun policy" with their fingers on their weapon's trigger. A FAILURE of training or STRESS induced, the officer training manual and training need a substantial review! As with that female cop and her "inadvertent discharge," this 'one killing' by shooting of that Vet, by whatever means caused, should have that shooter no longer ARMED with anything more deadly than a pencil! If he is still employed by whatever entity at that Capitol, it should be in an UNARMED environment!

I love all of your articles; but, in today's "A Reader Writes Back...", he stated exactly how I feel about our country today. Remarkable! What he said really nailed how I feel regarding the issues, what is being done (right or wrong) and the desperateness that gets clear into my soul. I'm sad and happy and heart broken and proud all at the same time. I LOVE my country but hate what is being done to it out of pure selfishness and ignorance. Thank you Mike Huckabee and all your worker bees and family for all you stand for and are doing to support the good hard working patriots citizens of our beautiful Nation, the United States of America. God bless.

Our Lord's command to anyone who claims to be a Chnstian...in this newsletter's Bible verse...that we are to "teach all nations" confirms the BIBLICAL truth of what I stated, only hours earlier, when I wrote a response to your last night's survey...
SO, in view OF what I stated IN that response do I ask you...

If it is important to you to DO "all things for the glory of God" ( another one of our Lord's commands to us that has been the Biblical verse you've chosen for a few of your newsletters) then how come what you, IN this newsletter, chose TO "do" was write about the lie about how someone involved in that demonic attack on the capitol REALLY died instead of how that attack WAS birthed in the pit of hell and, BECAUSE it was, the truth of how the victims OF this attack REALLY died is of secondary importance ....NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT, had the President of the United States said "yes" TO doing ALL for the glory of GOD, HE wouldn't need a "defense" for his "real" part in this demonic attack because he would have had no part in it!!!...including even wanting a "peaceful" protest that had no potential of making a difference to GIVING glory TO God!!!

In Weasel Zippers (Conservative site), in the Hunter Biden article comment section, is the MOST SHOCKING photograph of Hunter and a baby and a maybe 5-year old girl, dressed up like a hooker. This is beyond perverted. It's becoming clearer what the left really wants all of those kids at the border for. Hunter with the baby is a selfie, with his outstretched arm is obvious. What can we do?

    Good Day Brother Huckabee,

On your Morning Edition April 09, 2021 you had a comment from a 3rd generation Navy veteran which I would like to second everything he said. I only want to add that because the Republicans never fight back we are in trouble to the point we may never recover. Even today I still receive emails and messages asking for money for those in the Republican party. As Independent voter It's hard to give money when one has limited retirement income. So even if I gave up a weeks groceries where is their sacrifice to fight for the soul of America and not just make deals that many of us end on the short end of the stick. I wore a Military Uniform for 25 years and I assure you those who wore a uniform sacrifice a lot. We give, but Republicans make deals with the Democrates but we still lose because they will not fight for us. Even when controling house, senate and white house they did nothing to stop the killing the unborn who are alive for example. I belive because of that great sin and selfishness as a people the Lord has lifted His hand from us as a people and nation and we are now no longer completely under his covering to receive His blessing. Enjoy your Newsletter. May the LORD Bless You and keep You and makes His Face to shine on you and Your family. Praying Sarah will be elected Governor of Arkansas.

I am a 29 year veteran, who still proudly supports our nation and the Army.

Nationalism is racism? About a decade ago we were able to sponsor a foreign exchange student from France. A few months into her stay, my wife asked her what difference was there between the US and France? Surprisedly, she said “ no one in France flys the French flag on their home like us Americans do with our national flag.”. It was true, almost every home had the US flag displayed proudly. Didn’t matter if you were purple or green, all had a flag on their homes. Most homes that did not were either empty or families were just moving in, or they were liaison officers from France. I can attest that there are racist in our society but there is no systemic racism (other than what our politicians, school boards or the media creates for votes, money or viewership respectfully). Wouldn’t it been grand
to see Biden (with Trump - who should have forced an public engagement) get up and say we are not a racist nation and we have no room for deliberate acts of racism in our nation, we are All American (like the 82d Airborne) and we have only one goal as leaders; to protect and serve our citizens. Less burden on Americans, no matter the race, sex, or religious affiliation should always be the goal of our politicians. Hyping stories of racism keeps us divided (as politicians want us to be) weakens us as a nation, our defense forces, and every other facet of our society. Any politician that is proven false in their accusation of nationalism is racism should be immediately removed from office and exiled to a more politically correct nation like Afghanistan, Iran, Venezuela, or China. Let them choke on the lies they believe they have a right to spout.

A poll I did not enter because it did not allow a reason, I would not say yes to, in my state I live with a society of uninformed voters and has a quest for communism our major university is a breeding ground for communism our elected Senators pushed every Obama and Biden issues our attorney general was a co leader of the Dem./Communist party, the mayor of the state's largest city told the police department to retreat from its police station and let rioters rob and set the building on fire, we have a congress member that hates America although a refugee from Somila become an important part of the squad, the Governor let covid patients back into nursing homes where 78% of our deaths from the China Virus was recorded and kept children from going back into schools and shut down the state; however he opened swimming pools and boating on the lakes in January while the 3 foot layer of ice was still covering the water below it. So would a Trump rally in my state be gainful I would go along with it and so would another million people however we are in the minority we already love his policies but he would not be able to transform the communist population here to an American Value systems not much of a chance, talk about walls up in this state against America its here in the Land of 10000 Lakes!!!

He just couldn't save America and run the Trump empire at the same time and he chose America.

Your piece about 2022 should include a focus on what really happened in the 2020 election. Fraud so big that the dems could claim a presidency....and they've gotten away with it!!! That's a pretty big 'real' conspiracy in my book. Put away the Mueller investigation / 9-11 / JFK and even the current plandemic as proof that they can get away with it. They (and I'd like to know who they really are 'cause this is a high level coordinated effort) are able to claim that the most free people on this planet are really stupid and they can do almost anything and no one will challenge them.
