I nominate as CEO of the Year Tobi Lutke, CEO of the e-commerce platform Shopify. Taking a bold and firm stand against the wave of “woke” corporations, Lutke recently wrote a letter to all his employees, explaining why Shopify rejects pushing personal political agendas. It’s also a much-needed primer on what a business is and what its purpose should be, one that a lot of other CEOs obviously need to read…and if they won’t, their shareholders should tie them down and read it to them.

I urge you to go to the link and read the whole article, but here’s just a small taste to entice you:

Lutke tells his workers that the idea of a for-profit company being a “family” is “preposterous.” You’re born into a family and can’t be fired from a family. Shopify’s employees are a “team,” with a goal of using entrepreneurship to help millions of merchants do better and millions of people find employment. As for those who put their personal political goals ahead of the company’s goal, “everyone that engages in endless Slack trolling, victimhood thinking, us-vs-them divisiveness, and zero sum thinking must be seen for the threat they are: they break teams.” In short: get "woke," get fired.

Yes, this should be Business 101 stuff, but the very fact that it actually has to be told to employees shows you just how badly the leftist Twitter mob mentality has corrupted every level of American society.

Now, let’s make the current Pentagon leadership stop promoting transgenderism and firing people for criticizing Marxism long enough to force them to watch “Patton.”
