DAILY BIBLE VERSE
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
Never do this
Disney has become so woke, it’s now apologizing for making a “dad joke.”
This is my sacred pledge to you: No matter how much I am pressured or criticized, I will never...NEVER...apologize for any of my dad jokes! No matter how badly I probably should.
Get your mind off the prospect of nuclear Armageddon and relax with a new episode of “Huckabee” tonight on TBN! I’ll talk about the midterm elections (less than a month away!) with Mac Warner and Tre Hargett, the Secretaries of State of West Virginia and Tennessee. Hilarious columnist Ron Hart will drop by, and I might even let him help present some wacky news on “In Case You Missed It.” You’ll be amazed by Blake Vogt, one of the best sleight-of-hand magicians in the world. And we’ll top it off with the awesome three-part harmonies of fast-rising country group, Chapel Hart.
It all rolls out at 9 EST/8 CST on TBN. To find out how to watch TBN, from local cable and broadcast channels to streaming, visit https://www.huckabee.tv and click on “Channel Finder” on the top menu. The FBI shows force and burns it's credibility down
You might recall that when word first came that the FBI sent about two dozen gun-toting agents to arrest a pro-life activist, terrorizing his wife and children in the process, I at first included their denial that it had happened that way. I didn’t really believe it, but I wanted to be fair and give their side. But when they then arrested nearly a dozen more peaceful, elderly, religious pro-life activists, including an 87-year-old communist concentration camp survivor, on trumped-up charges that amount to prosecuting people for praying and protesting outside an abortion clinic, it became impossible to extend any credence to the FBI’s claims.
Well, they’ve done it again, only this time, the targets got it on video: multiple agents, AR-15s, evasive responses, handcuffing dad in front of terrified children and all.
This is the same FBI that until now has never put up such a show of force in serving warrants on nonviolent and misdemeanor offenders. That’s irresponsible, unprofessional, immoral and a good way to escalate the likelihood of someone getting hurt. It has nothing to do with justice or intelligent law enforcement procedures and everything to do with trying to bully and intimidate people opposed to murdering babies in the womb into giving up their First Amendment rights.
This is the kind of show of force you might expect when arresting genuine violent radicals who, say, firebombed a pro-life pregnancy center while making death threats. Except they haven’t yet arrested a single person involved in any of the dozens of instances of that.
Ever since Trump won in 2016, the FBI has been burning down its good reputation through nakedly partisan actions. Under Biden, the weaponization of law enforcement against political opponents has worsened so much that one poll shows a majority of Americans now view it as “Biden’s Gestapo.” We fought a World War to get rid of one Gestapo; we don’t need another one on American soil.
The law these people are charged under (the FACE Act) should be either repealed or overturned by the courts as unconstitutional; these politically-motivated charges dropped with apologies; and whoever was responsible for this outrage inside the DOJ identified, fired, and if possible, prosecuted. Hold the trial outside DC, where juries will actually look at the evidence. And preferably in some jurisdiction where tarring and feathering is still a recognized form of punishment.
Bad economic news
Blogger Don Surber reports that there’s more bad news for retailers hoping that Christmas shopping will help pull the economy out of the downward spiral that’s been accelerating over the past few weeks. The Wall Street Journal reports that despite the looming Christmas shopping season, cargo shipping will drop 75% this month from last year’s levels. And it’s not because of booming US manufacturing, because that dropped in September to its lowest point in two years. Nike is already slashing prices by 65% because it can’t sell the stock it has now.
This is due to a perfect storm of rising fuel prices, higher interest rates, negative real wage growth, cratering stock prices and looming layoffs. President Biden keeps bragging about how effective his economic plan has been, but that’s true only if, as Surber puts it, “Bidenomics is a plan to torpedo the middle class.”
It will be fascinating to see how the media spin this until Election Day as either (A.) Good news, or (B.) All the Republicans’ fault.
Kanye Part II
Here’s part two of Ye (aka rapper Kanye West’s) interview with Tucker Carlson that’s making liberals’ heads explode, and he dropped plenty of brain bombs in the second half, too.
Among them: he says he’s fighting to try to get his kids with ex-wife Kim Kardashian into a private Christian school because the one they’re attending now is where all the celebrities’ kids go that indoctrinates them into leftism, atheism and all the other current fashionable isms. For instance, he says black students are taught complicated lessons about Kwanzaa and nothing about Christmas.
They reportedly make parents sign a non-disclosure agreement. Thanks to Ye, we now know why.
This is not a stunt
The media scoffed that busing illegal immigrants from red states to blue “sanctuary cities” was just a “stunt,” but it turned out to be the most brilliant plan ever to expose the emptiness and hypocrisy of liberal virtue signaling. Faced with but a tiny fraction of the illegal immigration problem that their open border policy has unleashed on border states, blue city leaders are squealing like stuck pigs.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams just ramped up the cluelessness another notch by asking for $1 billion in federal aid to deal with the relatively small number of migrants New York has to deal with, about as many as Texas gets in a day. And Adams actually asked for them!
Here’s the real money quote from Adams:
“New Yorkers are angry. I am angry too. We have not asked for this. There was never any agreement to take on the job of supporting thousands of asylum seekers. This responsibility was simply handed to us without warning as buses began showing up. There’s no playbook for this. No precedent.”
That could be a quote from any border town mayor, and it would be much more appropriate.
Actually, there is plenty of precedent. It’s in states like Texas and Arizona, where policies your party instituted unleashed a flood of illegal migrants into border cities. And you didn’t care, because they were a thousand miles away. Blue city mayors thought the consequences of their stupid policies would be somebody else’s problem. What Adams is really saying is that he never imagined that he and other Democrats who caused this problem would actually have to deal with it. Well, as I’ve said before, cry me a Rio Grande River.
Thanks to Ed Driscoll at Instapundit for compiling this group of stories, tracing the evolution of Adams’ statements, from calling for NYC to be even more of a “sanctuary city” for illegal immigrants to railing about why he should be expected to deal with all these illegal immigrants showing up.
Bonus: check out the hilarious meme that mocks both Adams’ hypocrisy and the gay romcom bomb, “Bros.”
I JUST WANTED TO SAY:
