DAILY BIBLE VERSE

All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.

John 1:3

If you have a favorite Bible Verse you want to see in one of our newsletters, please email [email protected].

Liberal “Fact-Checking”

An Oxymoron - Politifact rated as “Mostly False” a claim by Fox Business News’ Maria Bartiromo that since Biden took office, US imports of Russian oil have doubled. Except their own refutation included the fact that imports of Russian crude increased from 76,000 barrels per day in 2020 to 208,000 barrels in 2021, which is...hold on, let me check my calculator to make sure I’ve got my facts right…yep, MORE than double.

https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2022/03/01/more-great-moments-in-fact-checking-politifact-gives-bartiromo-a-mostly-false-rating-while-confirming-accuracy-n452127

Maybe that’s what they meant by “Mostly False,” that it was actually worse than she claimed. Somehow, I doubt it. Fact-checking is definitely worse than it used to be, though.

Tweet of the Day

Hillary Clinton declared that we must go after people in this country who are giving aid and comfort to Putin and siding with autocrats. Lucky for her, Mollie Hemingway has found one!

https://instapundit.com/506344/

Priorities

Leave it to CBS News to pinpoint the highest priority in Ukraine right now: It’s really hard for transgender people to change their sex on official documents.

https://instapundit.com/506799/

Uh, guys?...Maybe that’s partly because the government offices that handle those documents are getting BOMBED!

Insane Take

Leave it to America’s professional racial dividers to come up with takes on the Ukrainian invasion that are so insane, it’s almost impossible to decide which one is the nuttiest:

https://redstate.com/streiff/2022/02/28/no-nikole-hannah-jones-is-not-the-front-runner-for-the-most-nonsensical-take-on-ukraine-this-is-the-front-runner-n529336

A discussion with Republican strategist Saulius “Saul” Anuzis

Matt Margolis of PJ Media has a thought-provoking article based on a discussion at CPAC with Republican strategist Saulius “Saul” Anuzis. Anuzis argues that the Democrats’ push for replacing the Electoral College with a national popular vote for President might actually benefit Republicans.

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/matt-margolis/2022/02/26/is-this-the-conservative-case-for-the-national-popular-vote-n1562009

Margolis’ piece is for subscribers only, so I’ll just hit a couple of points in a nutshell. Democrats believe that since their candidate usually gets more votes than the Republican, if we had a national popular vote for President, they would always win.

But Anuzis says that makes no sense, since polls show liberals are a minority and America is a center-right country. He believes the only reason Democrats get millions more votes is because Republicans in heavily-populated solid blue states don’t bother to turn out. They figure their votes won’t count, even though California, for instance, has more registered Republicans than 40 other states. But under a national popular vote, every vote counts.

As for the idea that big cities would choose the President, the top 100 cities comprise only about 18% of the total population, and they vote 60-40 Democrat. That’s offset by the 20% who live in rural America and vote 60-40 Republican. So candidates would have to campaign all over America to win the suburbs and exurbs.

The Founders created the Electoral system to ensure a handful of densely-populated areas didn’t pick the President. But because of changes we’ve made since then, a handful of densely-populated precincts in a few swing states now pick the President anyway. A national popular vote would actually move us back closer to all areas being represented.

I’m not sure that I buy this, but it is an intriguing theory. What I love most about it is the thought of Democrats trying to explain the sudden reversal of their principled support of a national popular vote if they realize it might backfire and cost them elections. At the moment, the Party’s only sacred principle seems to be that the rules should be changed in whatever way is necessary to make sure they always win.

A Special Message

Good evening! I hope you will read the commentary below by MikeHuckabee.com Staff Writer Laura Ainsworth and then consider subscribing to my ADVERTISEMENT-FREE newsletter on Substack for $5 monthly or $36 annually.

AINSWORTH: Google doesn't want you to read this

Warning: the following essay contains material that has been flagged by Google as “UNRELIABLE AND HARMFUL.”

One of the great things about being on Substack, aside from being able to publish content without those distracting and sometimes disgusting ads for ear wax solutions and toenail fungus cures, is to be out from under the watchful eye of Google. Google, whose slogan used to be “Don’t be evil” but no longer is, is the self-appointed watchdog that flags and even demonetizes content it doesn’t like. They also own YouTube and do the same thing there with video content. And they have a way of swinging into full-on Big Brother mode when it comes to certain topics, such as COVID and vaccines, the Capitol Hill riot of January 6, and the 2020 election. Those particular topics must be discussed in exactly the way Google sees fit, with the right vocabulary and the preferred “context,” or they will be flagged, typically as “unreliable and harmful.”

This indignity has been happening to the Huckabee newsletter quite often lately. Sometimes it’s a particular piece that gets flagged, sometimes the entire edition. And now, Google seems to have nothing better to do than dive into our ARCHIVES to see what commentaries we ran months ago don’t suit them. That’s right –- in their zeal, they’re actually flagging old commentaries.

They don’t have to explain their reason, and they don’t. It doesn’t matter to them that the facts are right –- ours are –- because it’s the opinion they’re labeling as heresy. They do not tolerate dissent on certain subjects. Like other agenda-driven social media platforms, they remind us of the Spanish Inquisition. (Cue Monty Python: “NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition!” Except we’re starting to expect them every day.)

But it’s funny, when we go back and re-read the commentaries Google has flagged, to try to guess what the problem could possibly be, they hold up really well. Some of them even turn out to be amazingly prescient, as if we’d had a crystal ball. Since Google can’t come after us here, let me tell you about one such case...

As a writer/researcher for Gov. Huckabee, I occasionally write pieces under my own name (like now), and last October I wrote one that pointed out some striking parallels between one particular episode of a Netflix docudrama series called EL CHAPO and suspicions many have about interference with the 2020 election, some of which would carry over from the 2016 campaign as well. I did not say that our election had been “fixed” in the ways the fictional election in Mexico was fixed, only that certain aspects of the plot would seem very familiar! I told the story and then summed it up as follows:

“So, we have a candidate who’s an outsider, a tough negotiator who won’t be cowed by powerful forces but who is defeated in part by a hoax linking him to a corrupt Communist foreign leader. His campaign officials and business associates are spied on. He's smeared as an "imminent danger." His enemies control ballot boxes and prevent watchers from seeing the vote count. When he loses, supporters protest a “stolen” election, but that’s it.”

Here’s a link to the entire piece as it originally appeared in the newsletter, the one Google called “harmful”…

https://www.mikehuckabee.com/latest-news?id=8384966F-FB04-495C-B13E-D65D1AB752E2

As you can see, even though I was just talking about suspicions regarding our own election and what might have done to affect the outcome, Google wasn’t going to let me bring this up. Why, it might cause people to lose trust in “our democracy,” and we can’t have that. So we all have to pretend everything is fine, as in, “Move along; there’s nothing to see here.”

But the interesting thing about this is that even though the piece was written last October, the recent court filings of special counsel John Durham announce that he can show the allegations of spying and hoaxing are true. We actually had a candidate, Donald Trump, who was tarred for years --- it even followed him to the 2020 campaign --- by a hoax that linked him to a Communist leader, Vladimir Putin. And Durham can trace it back to Hillary’s campaign.

Trump’s campaign officials and business associates actually were spied on, at the White House, Trump Tower, and his apartment building at Central Park West. Durham can show there was even a team of cyber experts, engaged at Georgia Tech and (we think) a self-appointed group of cyber-police called “Ops-T,” tasked with “finding” something. And, apparently, they faked it, using innocent marketing email traffic to stand in for the suspicious “pings” between Trump Tower and Russia-connected Alfa Bank. It was indeed a hoax.

As for the part about ballot boxes, Trump’s enemies in 2020 actually did control many of them. The Center for Tech and Civic life received hundreds of thousands of dollars from Facebook tycoon Mark Zuckerberg and used it for “grants” in battleground states and communities to put unsupervised dropboxes in designated locations. Here’s an update on “Zuckbucks” and the money from various sources being pumped into elections.

https://www.realclearinvestigations.com/articles/2022/02/15/states_want_a_huge_federal_topoff_to_zuck_bucks_for_future_elections_but_theyre_already_sitting_on_a_pile_816483.html

Also, Democrats really did bar Republican poll watchers from seeing what they were doing on Election Day. We saw them relegating poll watchers to the far, far side of the room, or forcing them outside and covering windows with pizza boxes. It’s on video. So that part of the analogy is true as well.

Read it and weep, Google: the 2020 election was a hot mess in some places, and it’s not “harmful” to point out the truth. The real harm was done by the lack of transparency of the election process. Just because courts wouldn’t touch the issue with a 10-foot pole doesn’t mean the evidence didn’t exist. That is not to say the election was stolen, just that there’s plenty that needs addressing so we WILL be able to trust our elections in the future. As it stands now, roughly half of American voters do not, and pretending all is well won’t change that. In fact, it will harden their cynicism.

Problems continue to be discovered. For example, here’s the latest finding concerning signature matching for mail-in ballots in Maricopa County, Arizona. It’s a small study from which larger numbers are extrapolated, so the results show not that the election was stolen but that a larger study needs to be done to see if those numbers forecast accurately, because they are stunning. The final report, released Tuesday, estimates that more than 200,000 mail-in ballots with mismatched signatures were counted without being “cured” by poll workers.

https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/elections/maricopa-countys-200k-mail-ballots-mismatched-signatures-not-cured-2020

It occurs to me that perhaps I should thank Google, for calling attention to a piece from several months ago that still holds up amazingly well –- and which is, in fact, even more appropriate and timely now in light of Durham’s findings than it was when it first appeared in Gov. Huckabee’s newsletter. Whenever they flag our work as something they don’t like, we know we’re on the right track.

Biden delivers his State of the Union speech from an alternate universe

Last night, President Biden gave his first State of the Union Address. At least, I think he did. I tuned in to watch, and something bizarre happened. I believe due to some weird atmospheric anomaly, my satellite dish picked up a SOTU Address by a totally different President Biden speaking from an alternate universe.

In this parallel universe, the alt-President Biden spent the past year strengthening international relations and the past few months working with our allies to get sanctions in place that have Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian invasion plans on the ropes. In our universe, our President Biden pulled a botched Afghanistan withdrawal without consulting our allies and signaled that America was an unreliable partner (there was also that business with the submarines that ticked off France.) Our Biden admitted just last week that the sanctions, which he waited too long to impose, didn’t work, as Putin enters his seventh day of ramping up his horrific assault on Ukraine.

In the alternate universe, a record number of new jobs were created last year. In this universe, people returned to their old jobs that were artificially shut down by the government, but we’re still millions short of where we were before the pandemic.

In the alternate universe, the House chamber was filled with unmasked people. In our universe, many kids are still forced to wear masks in school, despite even “Saturday Night Live” now admitting they made very little difference.

In the alternate universe, alt-President Biden promotes buying American and cracking down on illegal immigration. In our universe, Trump did those things and Biden called him a racist and a xenophobe.

In the alternate universe, inflation can be cured by ordering businesses to lower their costs while also forcing them to raise wages and pay much higher taxes. In our universe, inflation is caused by the government printing too much money, and wages and taxes actually are two of the biggest costs of doing business.

In the alternate universe, COVID is not a reason for Americans to be divided. In our universe, it’s a reason to demonize people, fire them from their jobs, and refuse them medical care.

In the alternate universe, Biden denounces illegal immigration and skyrocketing crime and calls for more funding for police and gets standing ovations from the Democrats. In our universe, Biden opened the borders, denounced our border guards as whip-cracking racists, wants to tear down the border wall, and secretly disperses illegal aliens by plane all over America under cover of darkness. And the crime waves are in Democrat-run cities where leftist DA’s have actually made crime legal while Democrats defunded the police. Democrats applauding our Biden for vowing to crack down on illegal immigration and fund the police would be like a gang of arsonists applauding their leader for vowing to do something about the problem of how it’s getting really hot in here.

In the alternate universe, President Biden will take action to reduce the cost of insulin. In our universe, Biden reversed a Trump executive order that reduced the cost of insulin.

In the alternate universe, Biden will take swift action to fix long-standing problems like infrastructure and veterans’ care that in our universe dragged on for eight long years under Obama and Biden.

In the alternate universe, “Build Back Better” and the federal takeover of elections are apparently still alive.

In the alternate universe, the Trump-era tax cut benefited only the ultra-rich. In our universe, it gave a huge amount of tax relief to the poor and middle class, with many having their income tax burdens eliminated entirely, while the rich ended up paying a larger percentage of taxes.

The alt-VP Harris stands and applauds the ideas of cracking down on crime and funding the police. Our VP Harris raised money for a fund to bail rioters out of jail.

In our universe, the people looking at an empty chair where family members used to be included the families of 13 military members needlessly killed in Afghanistan. Since they weren’t mentioned, I assume (and hope) that never happened in their universe.

And the most glaring differences of all: in the alternate universe, the state of the union is strong, and President Biden is competent, popular, gets thunderous applause and standing ovations, and can talk for a solid hour. Oh, and Ukrainians are known as “Iranians.”

Now, the big question: How do I get out of this universe and live in that one until 2024?

I didn't listen to Biden's speech as I knew all that he says would be lies! However, I'll revert to Huckabee’s Newsletter of 1/24/22 & Ms. Sharon's comment on the matter of 2020 Elections as to the abominable treatment of President Trump & his family by a lot & of the possibility of the Lord’s rebuke of our nation on our atrocious behaviour & its consequences which should strike terror in our hearts. I agree with her 100%. He, the First Lady Melania & the rest of the family deserves much, much better! Trump is a great example of a sincere Patriot & an extraordinary, hardworking, straightforward President who accomplished in one term 3 times more than any previous Presidents! He’s much smarter, wiser than anyone give him credit. He pays attention & is a visionary; a caring person who loves America greatly & worked for the American people without taking a cent from us!! Ms. Sharon told the truth, as it is, what many high-ranking & low-ranking Republicans don’t want to admit – especially those in Congress. They, & other leading Republicans (who are not in Congress, both in State & in Washington D.C.) did nothing on January 6, 2021, or later & still are not doing anything to put it right – when they really can – & are mum when they should fight & should have fought to put Trump back in WH & He should be the one in the WH now!! Why are they not joining forces with Mike Lindell & others like him? Why are they quiet about the stolen elections & blatant election fraud, when they should be actively exposing the falsehood along with Mike Lindell? Jealousy? Malice? To my thinking even our great Huckabee hasn’t shown enough interest. Why aren’t these great GOP personalities & R McDaniel raising their voices & endeavouring to get the support of the GOP AGs & prominent persons to have this matter be heard by the Supreme Court? Those Justices (not all) are another utter disappointment & disgrace who are not on the side of Truth, Justice, integrity of elections & the Constitution & are bought by the evil-wicked-ungodly. (So much for the so called “Conservative” Justices!) It’s not just a shame but in stronger words, they’re just as despicable as the Democrats!

    Governor Huckabee,

You missed a few points about President Biden’s speeches. Like the fact that President Biden can’t make it through a speech in this universe without stumbling over sentences or forgetting his place on the teleprompter. While in the alternate universe, his eloquence mesmerizes the audience with his ability to never refer to notes or the teleprompter. However, may Heaven help us if his earbud were to drop out of his ear. Also, President Biden stares into the audience’s eyes in the alternate universe, never wavering in his resolve and instilling them with awe. In this universe, he finds it almost impossible to look directly at his audience. Instead, he stares dreamily into the glaring lights as if he sees a giant ice cream cone filled with chocolate ice cream sprinkled with nuts.

You have said that there is no structure in place to declare an election invalid. WHY IN THE WORLD NOT??? And why is a structure even needed? There is more than ample evidence available to show overwhelming fraud. Why sit back and just fix it so it doesn't happen next time around?? We have three more years for this corrupt administration to wreak its havoc on our country. Will we even have a country left by then? I know there's hope in the November elections, but the ones that stole the White House should not be allowed to stay there. Where is justice??

Has anyone thought to nominate Putin for the Nobel Prize in medicine? In one week he cured the covid panic and made it disappear -- something Joe Bribem promised to do a year ago, but didn't.

Tonite I watched some clips of an embarrassing episode where an imbecile was giving an incoherent speech that mounted to a waste of time. The people at this preschool event could have been an audition for a scene to the movie one flew over the Cuckoo’s nest bizarre behaviors abound by what seems to be physically mature human beings most of people were acting as dementia patients that should not have been out their gated facilities. If I had been gone into space for 10 years and watched this display I would hop on the next rocket and head back to space where I could watch reruns of tvs greatest series the speech was a complete insult to people with an IQ of 46

Seems Hillary had a deal whereby the Russians receive about 20% of American uranium production might be considered another call out. Maybe that deal should be cancelled under current circumstances as there is no need to be providing Russia with a fuel supply.
