Evil

I write a lot about how the modern left knows that its obsession with unfettered abortion is repellant to any decent human being, so they can’t speak honestly about what they want to do. They have to hide the gory reality under a blanket of fuzzy euphemisms, like “reproductive justice” or “pregnant persons’ health care” (they can’t even be honest about admitting that only women can be pregnant.) Well, as usual, California is taking both abortion and language abuse to an extreme.

https://redstate.com/kiradavis/2022/04/20/california-democrats-ban-adjectives-during-public-comment-session-on-abortion-bill-n552882

Read about the ghastly new pro-abortion bill (sorry: “reproductive health bill”) they’re pushing in the Assembly to make California an “abortion sanctuary state.” It’s so radical that over 1,000 pro-life activists showed up at the Capitol to protest it. The liberal politicians limited public comment to one hour, and ordered their critics not to use adjectives or they’d cut off their mics.

I think I could deal with that in telling them what I think. “Evil” and “shame” are nouns.

Overturned

On a related subject, the Biden White House has found another good Trump policy to overturn. They reportedly plan to revoke the rule allowing pro-life medical workers to refuse to perform abortion services that violate their religious and moral beliefs. To keep this rule would require this Administration to respect religious rights, morality, the sanctity of life and/or the First Amendment, and I’m seeing very little evidence that they have any respect for any of those things.

“Twitter’s “Poison Pill” Strategy

Twitter’s board of directors is so terrified of Elon Musk buying the company and forcing them to respect users’ free speech rights that they invoked a “poison pill” strategy to try to dilute his shares and influence. Obviously, they don’t know who they’re dealing with. They might want to swallow those poison pills with a glass of strychnine after they hear about what he might be planning next.

https://www.westernjournal.com/breaking-musk-twitter-takeover-officially-underway-new-complex-plan-revealed-cryptic-tweet/

Could he do this? No question that he could. He’s not only the richest man in the world, but going by the latest estimates of his net worth, he could personally pay $43 billion for Twitter out of his spare change jar and still have $75 billion more than the second-richest man, Warren Buffett.

The question is, does he believe Twitter’s worth it? He seems to think so. Personally, I never understood why anyone thought it was particularly valuable. They give accounts away for free, and even then, one of their own board members has never even used his. But then, I’m not a visionary billionaire, I’m just someone who occasionally uses and looks at Twitter, so my view of what it’s worth is probably very different from his.

Incidentally, the Twitter board’s willingness to destroy their own shareholders’ value just to keep from having to allow free speech is not going unnoticed by shareholders. Unfortunately for them, one of their investors is the Florida state pension fund, and Gov. Ron DeSantis says that gives him standing to sue the board for breaching their fiduciary duty to make decisions in the best interests of the shareholders and not their personal politics.

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/victoria-taft/2022/04/19/desantis-deploys-flame-thrower-and-goes-after-twitter-board-n1591178

DeSantis said Twitter’s returns have been stagnant for years, yet the board rejected Musk’s offer of a 20% premium on shares, not based on business judgement but because they know if he takes control, “their little play toy of Twitter would not be used to enforce orthodoxy and to basically prop up the regime and these failed legacy media outlets.”

For all the leftists’ howling about Musk on Twitter, I’d remind them that when conservatives complained of being banned and losing their free speech rights, their response was that Twitter didn’t have to comply with the First Amendment because it’s not the government, it’s a corporation. Well, if it’s a corporation, it can be purchased. Welcome to capitalism.

Easter Bunnies and Eggs

I don’t write about every incident in which Joe Biden seems to have a disturbing senior moment because…well, we all know by now, and I don’t want to be mean about it. Besides, I don’t want to give precious follow-up space to all the ludicrous liberal “factcheckers” trying to prove that Biden didn’t really, say, attempt to shake hands with someone who wasn’t there.

That’s why I graciously ignored the stories about whether the White House Easter bunny actually intervened and led Biden away when he started talking to some baffled children about Afghanistan. I didn’t want to get into a controversy over whether even the Easter Bunny had been roped into making sure Biden didn’t go off script and start World War III or something.

But now, there actually is some hard news related to this topic, and it does seemingly confirm some suspicions.

https://www.westernjournal.com/now-know-easter-bunny-suit-wrangling-biden-explains-much/

We now know that two staffers donned the Bunny costume that day, and while we don’t know which one specifically rescued Biden from himself, we do know they were both members of the communications team, and one was Meghan Hays, Biden’s director of “message planning.” Find any Easter eggs in that info that you will.

Incidentally, if they’re going to dress Biden’s communications staffers in big bunny costumes, might I suggest that Jen Psaki give it a try? I think it might make what she has to say a lot more believable.

RE: "Easter Bunnies and Eggs" It will take a lot more than a bunny costume to make Jen Psaki sound believable. Telling the truth from now on would actually be a good start. Which in the Current Administration could lead to a category 5 storm of resignations, for the betterment of America and freedom.

Is the Presidents giant guardian rabbit named Harvey?
    Should be.

    Mike
I agree with you about Twitters lack of value. I think they should rename it and stop after the first t.

Again, why does no one care about the .President enough to be honest with him and save him from continuing to make a fool of himself on public? When a man of his age and his faltering demeanor says he is going to run again in two years, why could Pres. Obama not have said something that would kindly stop such comments. Apparently, his wife does not care enough either. Anyone who loves their spouse with all their heart would help that spouse to realize that his time in the public eye should be over. A truly loving spouse does not want her partner to falter in public. Do his advisors not realize there is real danger of him making some public comment that could really cause someone like Putin go do something even more terrible? Let us call the President if the US what he is, a sad old man with diminishing mental abilities who is being propped up and used by evil people.

Does anyone in the administration realize how many medical personnel and even hospitals will be lost if there are no conscience exclusions for abortion? How could
Catholic, Adventist, and some other religiously founded hospitals stay open if they had to perform procedures they consider to be a sin against God? Are they going to tell a professed nun who is nurse or midwife that she has to assist with an abortion? These leftists are actually very cruel.

Psaki wouldn't be believable if she dressed up as George Washington.
