Always worth reading

Kurl Schlicter is always worth reading, so you can imagine the fun that’s in store from an article called, “Don’t Let Them Reset Society to Make You Into a Bug-Eating Serf.”

Here’s a sample quote which perfectly describes why so many great things, from the beautiful city of San Francisco to the American energy industry, that were built by great Americans are now being destroyed by the unqualified and ungrateful people into whose hands they've fallen. Kurt:

“The current crop of cultural trust fund babies who inherited the most powerful nation the world has ever known are just like every other trust fund kid ever - unaccomplished, incompetent, yet somehow believing that they are due respect not for what they have achieved but for what positions they were handed because they got a degree from Yale.”

Exactly as I suspected

Campus Reform asked some college students who think the SCOTUS was wrong to rule that there’s no right to abortion in the Constitution to point out where that right is. Spoiled alert: they couldn’t find it, either.

Liz Cheney flat-out lies about J6 on FOX NEWS SUNDAY

In a late edition yesterday, we discussed the lies that had come thick and fast during the illegitimate January 6 committee hearings. As it happens, there was one huge lie told over the weekend that wasn’t on our radar until later. It should surprise no one that this deceit came from Liz Cheney.

She was on FOX NEWS SUNDAY, which seemed to me like a good reason not to watch FOX NEWS SUNDAY. However, since the internet is forever, her lies were preserved for all time. Cheney told a ginormous whopper about the Oval Office meeting in which President Trump authorized the deployment of 20,000 National Guard troops for his rally a couple of days later. She actually said on the air that then-acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller, one of five present at that meeting, had denied Trump authorized this.

“Chris Miller has testified publicly that Donald Trump never issued any order to deploy the Guard, to protect the Capitol,” Cheney lied in answer to Bret Baier’s question. “And so I would point people to [Trump’s] own secretary of defense’s public testimony.”

Baier didn’t challenge her on this during the show, and, as one might imagine, it has received almost no media attention since. But, as we recently reported, every person at that meeting has confirmed that Trump authorized 20,000 Guard members for his rally. Miller is on video confirming it. So is Kash Patel. Both were interviewed by Sean Hannity, and Miller was present when Patel said that “Mr. Trump unequivocally authorized up to 20,000 National Guardsmen and women for us to utilize should the second part of the law, the requests. come in. But as you highlighted, those requests did not come in.”

Miller could not have been clearer that Trump absolutely made the authorization: “The President was doing exactly what I expect...any commander-in-chief to do. He was looking at the broad threat against the United States and he brought this up on his own. We did not bring it up.”

According to testimony from Gen. Mark Milley, Pence did call him multiple times from inside the building on the day of the riot, calling for assistance. But Cheney has twisted facts to suggest that Trump did nothing –- that all requests for security measures came from Mike Pence.

“Trump gave no order to deploy the National Guard that day...” Cheney said to Baier. Never mind that “order” is not the correct word. The President, any President, cannot ORDER the Guard. He can AUTHORIZE the deployment of the Guard, which he did –- two days earlier. So, why weren’t they there? House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser failed to act on that authorization. Bowser even rejected the use of the Guard in writing.

Just to give you an idea of how Liz Cheney’s lies were reported, ROLLING STONE ran this headline: “A Sunday Miracle: Fox News Audience Exposed to Jan. 6 Truth During Liz Cheney Interview.”  Ironically, their story quoted more of her lies...

“This was a mob that Donald Trump sent to the Capitol,” Cheney said, “and I think that’s important for us to keep our eye on.”

Cheney said that all the witnesses so far have been Republicans.  (Aside to Liz Cheney: Liz, YOU claim to be a Republican. I think you’ve shown us how objective YOU, as a "Republican," can be when it comes to President Trump. If you had any credibility left to lose --- and I would say you didn’t --- you lost it on Sunday.)

“Look, it’s not just me that is saying that Donald Trump is unfit for office,” Cheney said. It’s other entities owned by Rupert Murdoch. “It’s the NEW YORK POST in their editorial on Friday. It’s THE WALL STREET JOURNAL --- said the same thing after our hearing Thursday night.”

And in truth, we don’t know what to say in polite company about the editorial boards of the NY POST and WSJ, whose members obviously don’t read and heed their own writers’ excellent reporting. The fact that the one-sided J6 committee has been able to lie convincingly enough to bend these editorial boards testifies to their ability to propagandize. Editorial boards, you have been had.

Greg Gutfeld in his monologue on Monday night talked about this show trial and how the left, notably Stephen Colbert (whose team was able to “breach” the Capitol building for hours with no penalty), is gushing over it. As Colbert said Thursday night to MSNBC host Chris Hayes, “It’s gonna change how any congressional hearing is held to a standard, because the, you know, the circus that usually happens is no longer gonna be seen as entertainment.” I’ll pause while you roll around on the floor, laughing helplessly.

Hayes called this televised event “a tour de force of production.” Well, yes, it IS a production, a big piece of propaganda, totally one-sided and put together at taxpayer expense.  It's definitely "appointment TV," as in, you should make an appointment to do anything else but watch it.

I like what Gutfeld said, calling this “a stunt to placate lazy journalists who think summarizing stuff from a televised hearing is work. It isn’t. Know what’s work? Go outside and talk to Americans --- how they feel about their money being spent on trials that will now extend into September. My choice [my prayer] is they’ll bite your head off.”

And if you’re ready for another laugh, here’s one. Liz Cheney hasn’t ruled out a presidential run in 2024. I am not kidding.

Now, here’s another look at something that’s not funny at all: Ashli Babbitt’s death, from a professional use-of-force expert who has testified in court more than 350 times as an expert witness.

Stan Kaphart, who appears in the new EPOCH TV documentary “The Real Story of Jan. 6,” says, “My conclusion, based on what I saw and observed in the video clips, is that Ashli Babbitt was murdered. She was shot and killed under cover of authority by an officer who violated not only the law but his oath and committed an arrestable offense.” There’s no way, he says, that this officer was in fear of losing his life or being grievously injured.

The attorney for shooter Michael Byrd disagrees, of course. The documentary is for subscribers to EPOCH TV; here’s the link in case you do subscribe.

It was in this documentary that we learned about another woman who was beaten senseless by Capitol police, when she had done nothing. This one did live to tell about it, and the beating (very hard to watch) is on video.

In an update on the Secret Service controversy regarding the loss of text messages around the time of January 6, the agency says it never received a copy of the congressional letter asking it to preserve all records related to the Capitol protest and that the data could have been deleted accidentally. They’re working on recovering data deleted from at least ten agents’ phones. Here’s what we know about the developing story.

Finally, if you’re thinking Liz Cheney must be the Liar Of The Century, I can tell you who’s giving her a run for her money. Unfortunately, it’s President Biden. You already know enough about what happened on J6 to be able to see through his lies, but so many people don’t (case in point, ROLLING STONE readers). Biden probably lacks the cognitive ability to see through his OWN lies.

J6 committee wants to subpoena Ginni Thomas

If you already thought the January 6 committee was an illegitimate show trial, wait till you hear the latest. California Rep. Adam Schiff, responding to a question from Margaret Brennan on CBS’ FACE THE NATION, justified calling Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, to testify before them. He thought they should give “serious consideration” to subpoenaing her if she doesn’t choose to come in voluntarily. (Liz Cheney had already spoken similarly that day on two Sunday morning shows.)
Ginni Thomas, a conservative Trump supporter, had encouraged then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to pursue legal and legislative challenges to what she saw as a stolen election. Those messages have already been seized as part of the committee’s “investigation.” There is no evidence that she ever encouraged violence or was even at the Capitol during the riot. She has said that she attended an earlier event and left before Trump spoke.
But she dared to question the election results.

Legal analyst Jonathan Turley says that “Schiff has stripped away the pretense of subpoenaing Ginni Thomas about her messages to the White House. This is about her husband, not her support for the election challenges or what occurred on January 6th.”

He also says that seizing her messages was done under a scope that “has been criticized as overbroad.” The committee (of course) leaked those messages to the media.

Turley calls this encroachment on a jurist’s wife as “more than a case of ‘mission creep.’ It is a radical departure from past practices and long-standing interbranch comity. It could create dangerous precedent as members use such committees to investigate jurists on the motivations or communications leading to their opinions.”  Yet another Inquisition.

But with today’s Democrats in charge of the legislature, we already see that “interbranch comity” is a thing of the past. Turley’s analysis is a must-read, particularly the last few paragraphs. “This would constitute one of the most intrusive acts ever taken against the Court,” he says, “outside of a formal impeachment proceeding.”

NY Attack update

UPDATE: The man who tried to attack New York gubernatorial candidate and Rep. Lee Zeldin claims he had been drinking whiskey and didn’t know who he was attacking.

And maybe all the outrage from people like us actually had an effect because after New York “authorities” quickly released him back onto the street, the DOJ actually charged him with a federal offense for assaulting a sitting Congress member (even though the victim was a Republican.)

I will give them props for finally doing their job for once, but it would have been more impressive if it didn’t take it happening in front of the entire world, followed by the suspect’s politically-embarrassing release. Character is what you do when people AREN’T looking.

NY progressives turn on AOC

AOC isn’t really a Congressional Representative, but she plays one on social media. Before anyone responds, please note that I didn’t say that, but her fellow New York “progressive” liberals are starting to point it out.

They’re complaining that she spends no time in her office or in her district representing her constituents. She seems more devoted to appearing in front of cameras and performing political theater. Maybe she shouldn’t be representing Queens and the Bronx but should be the Representative for Broadway.

Fake News

The Wall Street Journal ran a story claiming that Google co-founder Sergey Brin divorced his wife Nicole after learning she had an affair with Elon Musk, and that’s why he and Musk are no longer friends. Musk tweeted, “This is total (Bleep!) Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night!" He added, "I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic."

Obviously, this raises a very important question that demands an answer. And that question is, “When did the Wall Street Journal turn into the National Enquirer?”

How crime is skyrocketing in places that have become very lenient with criminals

You’d think anybody would have enough sense to know that if you let criminals get away with no punishment, you get more crime. But if so, then you’ve never met a “progressive,” as many residents of blue cities have recently learned to their woe.

But for those who really need to have the obvious spelled out for them in neon lights, attorney and blogger Hans Bader took a close look at how crime is skyrocketing in places that have become very lenient with criminals, in particular the way they’ve made violent carjackings “cool” so that kids as young as 11 are now doing it.

He also compares two counties in Virginia and Maryland. They border each other and have similar economies, cultures and demographics. In the 1970s, they had similar crime rates. Then Virginia passed tougher sentencing laws and abolished parole for violent felons. Maryland remains liberal and lenient.

If you’re not a “progressive” DA, you can probably guess what happened. The Maryland county’s crime rate is now twice as high as the Virginia county’s right next door.

I can’t wait to find out whether the media will blame that on Trump or global warming.

If you whip us into a frenzy about what Democrats are doing to create a country in which we would be ashamed to live, please guide us on what we can do about the situation. Many of us understand what is taking place but feel helpless as to what we can do that would make a difference. You and many other pundits rely on the standard answer, “vote to change things in the next election.” However, when we vote for “change,” we get the same circumstances regardless. It may take time, but things don't change. We need not change who we vote for, but we need to change who we choose to run for office.

I guess what I am trying to say is that we are the electorate, and “we” need to bring forth better candidates to represent “our” philosophy of government “by the people” and for “the people.” We have, for too long, relied on “others” to choose for us. Don’t get me wrong, we vote for our choice from a set of individuals who have, in many cases, paid for the right to run for office. But that only means we have a choice among a group of wealthy, popular (among the upper class) candidates who have raised buckets full of money, mainly from the most affluent.

"We,” the majority, are ruled by the minority among the minority, and “we” can see no way out. Isn’t that what our forefathers escaped from to found this nation?

I am beginning to see that my progressive friends and neighbors are seeing the results of the current administration and they don’t like it. The difference is that they blame Trump, and his administration, for for aall the problems. I never realized that ex-presidents continued to have such power 2.5 years after being out of office. Of course the women are terribly upset about the Roe decision. They are sure that the use of contraceptives and gay marriage will now be outlawed. They have no concept of the intent or the content of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, nor what a SCOTUS decision actually means. What matters is emotion not intelligence. They totally hate Justice kavanaugh and blame him above all others. If one suggests the Biden administration is responsible for inflation, etc. they immediately start talking about terrible Trump and he he caused everything bad. It is a bit mind boggling. They also don’t look at the details. They beLieve Hobby Lobby has the power to outlaw contraceptives because they have religious objections. This company does not want to pay for abortificants but have no objections to paying for other contraceptives, such as the pill. There is no point in trying to convince them otherwise. One said, what are these young girls to do? Well, not having sex might be an answer. Oh no, that won’t do, that is a woman’s RIGHT.

It's very hard to believe that Liz Cheney is the daughter of former V. P. Dick Cheney, whom I thought so highly of! This J-6 show, directed by Lucifer, Son of the Morning, is nothing but his claim to fame; "Father of Lies"!
This is just another chapter in the Left's "Blue Coup" to destroy Trump and also our country. If Liz Cheney is a conservative Republican, then I'm in the wrong party! Can't think of any nice words to say about any of this B. S.! I'll just abbreviate!

Cheney's obsessive-compulsive laser focus on President Trump (and apparently nothing else) has me questioning her mental health. This is the sort of stalker mentality that gets people who aren't members of congress arrested or at least committed to an institution whose professionals deal with this disorder.
