Blasts From The Past!

From 2013, courtesy of Instapundit, a reminder of the kind of lifestyle you never enjoyed that you’ll now be subsidizing for someone else thanks to Biden’s “student loan forgiveness”:

And from 2020, once again, the Babylon Bee accurately predicts the future:

The Mar-A-Lago raid: what was it really about?

While the ‘Justice’ Department tries to get away with redacting essentially the entire affidavit used to get the warrant to raid Mar-A-Lago, Judicial Watch is doing an end run to glean as much information as possible from the National Archives’ communications.

As you know, JW had already filed suit against the DOJ to get them to unseal the affidavit. On Wednesday, they also filed a Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the National Archives and Records Administration, demanding “all communications and materials related to its referral to the Justice Department for former President Trump’s presidential records.”

They’re requesting “all related records of communication between any official or employee of NARA, and any official or employee of the Department of Justice, and any other branch, department, agency or office of the federal government.”

I assume that would include the Biden White House.  But don't hold your breath.

The White House has granted a DOJ request to permit them to have the FBI and intelligence community examine hundreds of classified documents that Trump turned over to NARA this spring. No doubt they could hardly contain their glee as they signed off on this.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/judicial-watch-files-foia-suit-against-national-archives-doj-referral-investigate-trump-records

When asked on Wednesday how much advance notice he’d had of the raid on Mar-A-Lago, Biden replied, “I didn’t have any advance notice. None. Zero. Not one single bit.” And you know that’s every bit as true as his repeated claim that he never talked business with son Hunter.

John Solomon at JUST THE NEWS has pieced together how a 2009 executive order by President Obama to strip previous President’s of executive privilege paved the way for the Mar-A-Lago raid. It’s quite chilling to see how Biden’s White House counsel leveraged that executive order and the events of January 6 to formally announce this in letters to, among others, subpoenaed witnesses Steve Bannon, Peter Navarro and Gen. Mike Flynn.

For example, on February 28, White House Deputy Counsel Jonathan Su wrote to Peter Navarro, “In light of [the] unique and extraordinary nature of the matters under investigation, President Biden has determined that an assertion of executive privilege is not in the national interest, and therefore is not justified.” Just like that.

Obama’s executive order had negated one signed by President George W. Bush soon after 9/11 that declared a current President couldn’t overrule a former President’s claims to executive privilege over documents from their tenure if the two could not come to an agreement about it. Obama went back to the protocol put in place after Watergate, which gave the incumbent President final say over which documents from a previous President would be turned over to the National Archives. President Trump had the opportunity to change this while he was in office, and I’ll bet he wishes he had.

So once the Biden White House waived Trump’s privilege, the FBI and ‘Justice’ Department moved swiftly to go after him and, in a matter of months, raid his home, with "authority" to sweep up virtually every scrap of paper from his presidency. Trace it all back to Obama’s executive order.

As Solomon reports, the Supreme Court has not ruled definitively on this. Alan Dershowitz encourages Trump to challenge it. What President is ever going to seek advice and counsel, he asks, knowing that if he is defeated, the next President “can, just by saying I waive the privilege, get into every single conversation you ever had. I can’t believe a constitutional scholar would agree with that.”

Navarro’s legal team is fighting Biden’s waiver and says his administration should be forced to disclose its contacts with the Democrat-controlled Congress. The DOJ says it has no responsive documents. But who’s naive enough to believe that this wasn’t part of a coordinated political ploy?

https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/all-things-trump/how-barack-obama-set-legal-path-fbis-trump-raid

“The Biden White House is at the ignition point of this investigation,” Solomon told FOX NEWS host Sean Hannity.

By the way, the DAILY BEAST has slammed Solomon’s reporting, accusing him of trying to “help” a former President. Here’s his response. Keep up your amazingly solid reporting, John Solomon.

https://georgiastarnews.com/2022/08/25/john-solomons-statement-regarding-daily-beast-smear-of-my-coverage-of-archives-memo/

Tea Party Patriots Action has filed a federal complaint against Magistrate Judge Reinhart, who approved the raid, demanding that he be removed from the case immediately. “Judge Reinhart acted unethically,” it says, “in approving the warrant to search President Trump’s residence...The entire episode...threatens the principle of ‘equal justice under law’ and the confidence of the American people in an unbiased judiciary.” They list seven “undisputed facts,” with evidence that:

1. Judge Reinhart has publicly denigrated Trump. (You've seen the tweets here.)

2. He recused himself from a lawsuit involving Trump and Hillary, citing a conflict of interest.

3. He showed a stunning lack of ethics in the Epstein issue.

4. He has deep ties to the Democrat Party, with financial contributions to Obama and Jeb Bush.

5. He should have recognized his own partisan leanings and recused himself when approached to rule on this case, but failed to do so.

6. He “does not meet the standards of ethical conduct and character necessary for the nonpartisan role of a judge.”

7. His action threatens the principle of “equal justice under law” and the confidence of Americans in an unbiased judiciary.

They go further, to say that for his role in searching a former President’s home, Reinhart should be disciplined and removed from the bench.  We wish.

https://www.teapartypatriots.org/reinhart-complaint/

Jeff Carlson has a must-read analysis on why the raid on Mar-A-Lago might REALLY have taken place. He thinks it was likely over documents exposing what the intelligence community was doing to further the Russia Hoax.

“The DOJ’s coordinated FBI raid of Mar-A-Lago,” Carlson writes, “was likely related to the potential unsealing and public presentation of this information --- particularly in relation to Trump’s [RICO] suit against Hillary Clinton, the Democratic National Committee, and former FBI officials such as former Director James Comey, former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, former agent Peter Strzok, and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, and his amended RICO suit, which added more defendants.”

The details he cites as reason for this theory have been presented in my newsletter, but when you have time, be sure and read this to see how he lays out the timeline and makes his case. “Trump’s actions,” he says, “and the documents he amassed over time, appear to have presented a very direct threat to the agencies that lie behind our government, prompting an institutional response that manifested itself in the FBI’s August 8 raid of Mar-A-Lago.”

Biden forgives student loan debt

As predicted, President Biden announced a plan on Thursday to “forgive” student loan debt, and as with all his plans, it was much more expensive than expected.

Biden wants to “forgive” up to $10,000 for people making under $125,000, plus up to $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients, plus extend the pandemic pause on repayments through the end of the year (is the pandemic shutdown still going on?) That last part came as an unwelcome surprise to the agencies running the payment program, who were given no notice and less than a week to alert borrowers and reprogram their computer software and websites. Why, it’s almost as if nobody’s really in charge, and they’re just winging it and throwing out “Hail Mary'' passes to try to buy votes for the midterms.

Even former Obama economic adviser Jason Furman slammed the plan as “reckless,” “indefensible” and “pouring gasoline on the inflation fire.” He said it would give away up to $40,000 to married couples with a $250,000 combined income, and the eligible loans include law and business degrees. People who do manual labor would end up paying for those.

https://freebeacon.com/biden-administration/jason-furman-student-loans/

Biden did fulfill his promise to bring Americans together, somehow managing to bring an Obama adviser and Republican Sen. Richard Burr of North Carolina into agreement:

https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/bidens-student-loan-handout-taxes-poor-throws-gas-inflation-fire

It was originally estimated that the move would cost $300 billion (about three times more than the alleged “deficit reduction” in the just-passed and laughably-titled “Inflation Reduction Bill.”) But with the new giveaways Biden included, the cost could be nearly $1 trillion. To update Sen. Everett Dirksen for today’s Democrats, “A trillion here, a trillion there, and pretty soon you’re talking real money.”

Of course, Biden cannot simply “forgive” debt. What he wants to do is take the responsibility for paying it back away from the people who willingly assumed it and put it on the backs of taxpayers who didn’t sign up for it, including those who didn’t attend college, who worked their way through (like me), who paid off their own student loans (and will get no refunds), and who worked or took out loans to send their kids to college (they aren’t eligible for refunds, either.)

https://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/parents-wonder-biden-student-debt-handout-include-college-loans-moms-dads

It would be fairer to go ahead and print a lot of inflationary dollars and give everybody $10,000, rather than give it only to people who willingly took out loans to go to college and can’t or won’t pay them back, then sticking everyone else with their bills. After all, most of us have some sort of debt we willingly took on, like a home loan or car loan. Why should we have to pay that back if people don’t have to pay back their college loans? Or better yet, another suggestion that would be fair but have the added benefit of not being inflationary is for the government NOT to give ANYBODY $10,000.

But for all the hoopla, it’s still not a done deal. I assume there will be legal challenges for a number of reasons, first and foremost being that Biden has absolutely no Constitutional or legal authority to transfer one group’s private debts to another group. As has been pointed out, if the Republicans in Congress have the spine to press the case, he’s acting illegally and dictatorially to usurp the fiscal powers of Congress, which is an impeachable offense.

Stephen Kruiser at PJ Media points out how the media are pushing White House “misinformation” by telling people that Biden is “erasing” student debt, when what he’s actually doing is taking the debts of the college-educated (including, I assume, a lot of those nose-ringed anarchist gender studies majors who were burning down our cities recently) and dumping them on the backs of the working class (the people whose business they burned and looted.) He writes, “The only thing that has been erased here is the Democrats’ last vestige of credibility whenever they express concern for the plight of working Americans.”

https://pjmedia.com/columns/stephen-kruiser/2022/08/25/the-morning-briefing-village-idiot-biden-puts-another-nail-in-americas-coffin-n1624019

Actually, I don’t think that’s quite correct. The Democrats have had no vestiges of credibility left in that area since Biden went to war on oil and drove gas prices up to $5 a gallon.

Good Point:  Donald Trump Jr. says that Biden’s student loan “forgiveness” plan would nurture and reward those who display “incompetence.”

https://thepostmillennial.com/trump-jr-says-bidens-student-loan-forgiveness-nurtures-incompetence

We shouldn’t be subsidizing incompetence. We already have more than enough of it in the White House alone.

Must-see video: Here's something from the memory banks that should be run 24/7 until the election. It's a dad who worked double shifts to send his kid to college confronting Elizabeth Warren about why his lazy neighbor should get his student loans forgiven, but he doesn’t get a refund for all the tuition he paid.

Crist crashes

Charlie Crist had barely been declared the Democrat nominee for Florida’s Governor on Tuesday before he crashed his campaign into the ground like a kamikaze pilot.

https://www.westernjournal.com/desantis-rival-just-shot-foot-less-20-seconds-terms-acceptable/

With polls showing him trailing Gov. Ron DeSantis by 8 points, Crist declared that he didn’t want any DeSantis supporters voting for him because they “have hate in their hearts.” He called DeSantis “evil” and said he wants the votes of “good Democrats, good Independents and good Republicans” (shades of Hillary and her slandering of half the electorate as a “basket full of deplorables!”)

Crist also told MSNBC, “He is on the battlefield of hate. I am on the battlefield of love. I’m going to beat him because I’m running on love, and love always wins.”

https://www.tampafp.com/democrat-charlie-crist-calls-florida-gov-desantis-evil-says-his-campaign-is-about-love

The last time I heard something that mind-bogglingly dumb, it was from the hippies of the 1960s, and at least they had the excuse of being on drugs.  He also declared that DeSantis has “torn my state apart. I want to bring her back together.” Accusing more than half the voters of being evil and hateful is certainly a good start.

But wait! It actually gets worse! When asked if he wants President Biden to campaign for him, he started gushing like a Trekkie meeting William Shatner. Crist declared Biden “exceptional,” “phenomenal,” “a great man, a great President,” the best he’d ever met, and said just look at “what he has done for our country…Look what he’s done for the world!”

Do I have to? I'm forced to look at it every day for a living, and I’m already pretty nauseous.

Theories are now flying as to what, if anything, is going through Crist’s mind. One theory is that he’s playing to the Twitter crowd to attract plenty of that sweet out-of-state leftist money from people who hate DeSantis (which he should reject because that’s “hate money,” not “love money”), and walk away with it after losing. But Nick Arama at Redstate.com has a different theory : Crist knows there’s no way he’s beating DeSantis, so he’s angling for a Cabinet post in the last two years of Biden’s lame duck presidency.

Oddly enough, despite all the crazy talk I just quoted, I can’t think of a single Biden Cabinet member that Crist wouldn’t be an improvement on.

Student loan debt forgiveness? Yep, what about me? I paid off my student loan debt that took away from other debts I had that would have improved my family's lives if I didn't have the student loan debt added to my other bills for home, utilities, vehicle and maintenance, food for my family, etc. My husband got laid off from work, and I wasn't working full-time, so we had to sell our family home at a loss, and had to pay attorney's fees, actually move to another place and pay rent, etc. But we made it through, after having to work 3 jobs, two PT for me, an entry level start over again job for my husband who worked 22 yrs. at his previous job, (he was a union employee), that he was laid off from, then had to start all over again at basic pay, thanks to the Clinton Inflation years of the 1990's.... We had to start over, but the student loan repayment was NEVER forgiven for us!!! Even after 9/11, we still didn't get 'Student Loan Debt Forgiveness' from a Democrat led Congress!

So they are the true liars, Democrats....They want to give away our Freedom because from all the freebies they are giving away to illegals, lazy bums, druggies, criminals, just to get votes, once they cause the USA to go bankrupt (like Venezuela), guess who will slimily slide in and take over America? Yep, China... because Biden and his crime-filled family, is being blackmailed by China's Communist Party to give America to them because Biden is such a lousy leader, a weak and sickly old man who can't remember anything, but also signs things that he does not understand....The CCP, Democrats, Radical Left, etc., are all taking advantage of such a weakling and will steal the country right out from under him, and he won't know they have.... Talk about elder abuse!.....That IS what Pelosi, Schumer, Soros, et al, the Democrats in D.C. are doing right now and will always do....!

That is also why they HATE President Trump, because he is NOT a weakling and they CANNOT abuse him without him pushing back.....! AND THEY KNOW IT and it makes them more boldly DESPERATE WITH HATE and EVIL in their minds and actions!

Again, another PERFECT REASON to Elect President Trump again in 2024! That is what he can do to stop all the madness....be ELECTABLE (AGAIN) BY HUGE LANDSLIDES THAT NO GERRYMANDERING OF VOTES CAN TOPPLE OVER! Now that we know what the opposition is capable of and will do again given the chance! We need a Congress controlled by Trump's Allies, first, then we can get him back in office, tout suite!

So much hate and evil and anger from the Democrats, will cause them to obliterate themselves by their own actions, They will burn themselves out and destroy themselves from within by their own blinded hate!

What is worse? A country being ruined by elitists controlling all aspects of human life, or a takeover of a country by a vicious enemy of the nation? Both are bad, but the first is worst, because it obliterates all human dignity for any one who tries to better their lives by "God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy", to use your book title as a quote.

President Trump is the only one who can pull America back from the brink of total obliteration! He is tough and does NOT pull punches! That is why those who want to continue to destroy America, see President Trump as standing in their way, so he too MUST BE destroyed, 'by any means necessary' (which means legal and illegal), quoted by those in the Biden Administration.....

Any other person to be Trump-like for America, maybe Ron DeSantis, Greg Abbott, or someone we don't know about yet, but could be a good thing, as the Democrats can't attack who they don't know about yet......since they are SO absorbed by ruining President Trump, they are 'distracted' by their own hatred and evil to GET HIM, so we can work under THEIR radar to secure an absolute, landslide win for the 'unknown Conservative Republican one' in 2024.

Charlie Crist cannot decide what party he wants to affiliate with. First it was GOP Gov, then when he couldn't make it there he went to Democratic and then he was losing so he switched over to Independent!! Nope ...bad choice ...now he's back to Democrats with "love" but his "hate" is so apparent, doubtful that will wash either. DeSantis all the way. Thanks and when I can, I will apply for your annual newsletter. God bless.

I see it will only get worse as elections draw near. With Soro dark money buying off states and AGs the left will get their civil war. Cold now but once they activate BLM and Antifa storm troopers it will be interesting, albeit dangerous. With establishment RNCs like McConnell and Crenshaw sabotaging COAC and others they will somehow remove leadership from the right. Both are avid haters of Trump and MAGA. I hope they are well prepared for the Holocaust they are planning!

Having listened to democrats is the same as preparing for a colonoscopy so irritating. While a colonoscopy requires one to remain close to the restroom time spent with the democrat is equally unpleasant. Biden as always completely bizarre in his thinking is going to require people that could not afford to enter a college or university for themselves will now expect people to compensate people that can afford to enter post high school education. As per biden common sense eludes him; biden the gift democrats Cannot resist what a waste!

The democrats have coined the word hate to mean Republicans. And yet they spew out hatred toward Trump and anyone who disagrees with them. I have listened to, and read, many of DeSantis words and I am mystified as to when he might have indicated hate. Although Trump may say a lot of boorish things, I don’t remember hearing him expressing hate for people. As I have said before, I am not particularly a Trump supporter but his policies for the most part were sound. Why are Libs so against improved employment and income for Black people? If they are so egalitarian why do the want our small border towns to bear the brunt of caring for the hordes coming across the Southern border? Why do they want blue collar workers to pay for white collar workers education? Why do they want to denigrate white children and humiliate black children? Why do they think it’s okay to kill late term babies? While I agree that a great number of men in our society are jerks, most are not. Why do lib women denigrate the men who fight fires, throw their bodies at our enemies, put food on the table? Ido agree that men have disdained woman in all societies for long enough, however. But you don’t through the baby out with the bath water. Why do Libs think that rewriting history does anything positive for society? A lot of bad things have happened in history but how does not acknowledging that benefit society? The student loan thing is just a blatant attempt to buy votes. I fear we have already crossed the rubicon. We are a country of spoiled brats.

I have been to more than thirty countries. Most of our citizens have no idea about the standard of living around the world. Even Western Europe and Canada do not enjoy our standard of living.
