Why Pelosi went to Taiwan: an educated answer!

Last week, we repeatedly asked why House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had made the trip to Taiwan that raised such ire from China. Of course, she had to go after news of the trip was leaked, but why plan such a trip in the first place? Mostly it ended up highlighting the weakness of the Biden administration towards the Communist Chinese.  And that can't  possibly help Taiwan.

Michael Pillsbury, Director of Chinese Strategy at the Hudson Institute and author of the book THE HUNDRED YEAR MARATHON about China’s long-term plans for world domination, appeared Sunday on LIFE, LIBERTY & LEVIN and addressed this very question. Pillsbury saw two reasons why Pelosi went, one laudable and the other a more cynical take:

1) (Laudable.) Since the 1990s, Pelosi actually has been an outspoken proponent of human rights in China. Pillsbury said she was “almost arrested” in Tiananmen Square in 1991 and is “a good friend” of the Dalai Lama, working to get him a medal from Congress and helping keep the Tibetan exile government alive.

2) (Cynical.) Republicans have lately been “capturing the national sentiment” on China as a threat. “Democrats were positioned poorly; they seemed to be helping China,” he said. (Editorial note: why would anyone get that idea?)  In some ways, her trip to Taiwan was a good thing, he said, but he called it a “performance,” done largely for political reasons, to convince Americans that, hey, Democrats are tough on China, too!

If Pelosi comes home and cooperates on Republican initiatives, he said, this will be a positive step.  But “if she comes back and gives a cold shoulder to everything Republicans want to do, then we’ll have to say this was a hypocritical trip, and has not really stopped the Chinese Hundred-Year Marathon at all.”

This entire episode of LIFE, LIBERTY & LEVIN is highly recommended watching. It’s all about how China is closing the gap on America, very deliberately so, and it’s quite an eye-opener. I hope our own administration and military aren’t as asleep at the wheel as they seem to be but am not optimistic. They appear much more concerned about “wokeness” and pronouns than they are, say, about China taking over shipping lanes around the world: Panama, South America, Western Africa, Southeast Asia. The CCP is positioning its chess pieces all over the globe. Assuming it's not too late by then, the next administration will have to be on top of this from the start.

    I think we all know the wicked witch went to Taiwan to represent her husband’s interests in the manufacture of semi-conductors. The insider trading is rampant and no one seems to care.

    Pelosi praised Communist China for having a great system. One wonders if she would be so impressed if she had to live like normal people

    Time for massive arrests of all the China lovers in congress. Make it PUBLIC! Who they are is not a secret. And go for those Chinese who are in the CCP,, yes, Joe doesn't want us to know. It's time to get mean and vicious. Take all that foreign owned farmland that is NOT productive and make it so. All of Bill gates farmland, confiscated. The time for nice is LONG past. The time to treat the enemy like they ARE the enemy is NOW.

    She went abroad to take away from the fact that hubby Paul was going before the courts and taking away what little noise the press would make while they were busy fixing the votes on the destruction of our economy.
    Liberals/liars create a vortex of insanity, keeping it sucking in and throwing out just like every tornado we've all seen to distract from what's really going on. Simply as that.

    My 2 cents guess is that she went because of money and lots of it. Its what I called "football". When Biden gave millions of $$$ to Ukraine she and Jill went to collect bags of it too and this Taiwan trip is the same football money from Taiwan. Why else would she risk her life or the US to have a war with China if not for more money and maybe to share some with crooked Biden the pedophile as election is drawing near the devil spawns need more money now before the arrival of the Trumpet!. No Asian countries trust the US now a days.

    Nancy Pelosi thinks she is above everything and everyone else. She tries to make herself as an indispensable person and more important than anyone else in our government. Her arrogant demeanor is compounded by her very being at the position she holds as speaker and she acts like she is the one in control of America, not the President. Right now that might very well be true too but it’s still wrong. I can’t wait for someone to stand up and tear up her writings in front of her face, the shameful thing she did to the truthful President Trump. God help America. We are turning into a third world country on a daily basis. Watch how fast your rights disappear. Happening now. Wake up people.

    Pelosi's son was along for the ride, just like Hunter with Father Joe. Has to rake in more business deals at public expense. Notice that the media, except Fox, failed to note this.

    I believe Pelosi had to go to Taiwan as a cover for our assets in the area that have been compromised. She picked up a few extra passengers. Maybe I've watched too many spy movies and read too many Jack Reacher books, but that is the only reasonable explanation I could come up with when I heard she was planning to go.

    Mike for the life of me I can not understand how the demoncrates can get by with so much. Hunter Biden and the big guy can be caught on videos and live television taking money from China. Hillary can delete emails and use an unsecured server and get by with it; and hundreds of other things. The FBI is corrupt to the core and wokeness is sickening. The demoncrates can challenge the election for four years and if Republicans do the same we are shot down. They can destroy our country by not having secure boarders; overrun Texas and other states with illegals, and then call our governor and Florid’s white supremest for busing them to DC and New York. Mike, please tell me WHY can’t Republicans stop this. Why does it seem the cards are stacked against us, and if we dare ask for a fair deal all hell breaks loose. Why can we not even get a fair playing field. This is not the country I want to leave to my grandchildren. It breaks this grandmothers heart to see our country in total third world control, and the Republican Party not putting their foot down and saying that’s it we will not stand for this anymore. What is wrong with this picture? I just do not understand. ????????
