President Biden announced that he is running (or shuffling) for reelection in 2024, which means that if he wins, he would be 86 when he ends his second term, and most Americans will be feeling even older than that.

In making the announcement, Biden ignored a growing chorus of voices urging him not to run because his policies are unpopular with voters and he’s clearly not up to the job physically, something the Wall Street Journal put bluntly and even the New York Times admitted gingerly.

Adding fuel to that argument, Biden didn’t even make his reelection announcement live or take any questions from reporters. Instead, he released a video hilariously entitled “Freedom.” In it, he said (my comments in parentheses):

"Freedom. Personal freedom is fundamental to who we are as Americans. There’s nothing more important. Nothing more sacred. That’s been the work of my first term. (Yes, from forcing Americans to take COVID shots or lose their jobs to criminalizing free speech and religious liberty to repealing the Second Amendment, he’s all about personal freedom.) To fight for our Democracy. This shouldn’t be a red or blue issue."

"This is not a time to be complacent. That’s why I’m running for reelection. Because I know America. I know we are good and decent people” (Well, except for all those racist, semi-fascist MAGA Republicans who want to ban books, enslave blacks and women, and kill trans children.) “And I know we are still a country that believes in honesty and respect, and treating each other with dignity. That we’re a nation where we give hate no safe harbor. And we believe that everyone is equal (aside from babies in the womb, who are expendable), and that everyone should be given a fair shot to succeed in this country." (And that’s why he’s trying to force unconstitutional race-based hiring into every corner of the government.)

He ends with “Let’s finish the job.” (Yeah, that’s what I’m afraid he’ll do.)

The RNC responded to Biden’s announcement with the first-ever 100% Artificial Intelligence-generated video, depicting the dystopian America that might result from four more years of “the weakest President we’ve ever had.”

I suspect that the fact Biden couldn’t even speak live for five minutes and released a video that’s so wildly at odds with reality might spark suspicions that it was created using deep fake technology and artificial intelligence. But I doubt that. I think this is a deeply fake Administration, but there’s no intelligence in it at all, artificial or otherwise. With them, it’s not artificial intelligence we have to worry about, it’s the genuine stupidity.

Also in the interest of equal time, here’s Donald Trump’s reaction to Biden’s announcement.
