Yes, Chief of Staff John Kelly set up a meeting between top intelligence officials and Congressional and Senate leaders, and, yes, it took place on Thursday as planned, and, yes, Democrats got to sit in, but, no, there was no document production. As committee members had feared, they were simply “briefed” verbally in the room without being able to set their eyes on any actual evidence. They’ve been trying to see certain documents relating to “human intelligence” (spying) and the origins of the FBI investigation, but the DOJ just will not let them, even though they have the required security clearance. Talk about stonewalling; this stone wall is higher and less penetrable than any wall we might someday construct at our southern border. Maybe Obama didn’t know how to draw a red line, but the intel community sure does.

Just as President Reagan famously said to Mr. Gorbachev, “tear down this wall,” President Trump needs to make the same demand to the intelligence community about the figurative wall it has built around itself. If those documents –- unredacted –- are to see the light of day in our lifetimes, Congress will just have to start impeachment proceedings against Sessions and Rosenstein. Do it! And Trump may have no choice but to use his authority to declassify the documents. Democrats will scream that he’s interfering with an investigation, but the President is not the one withholding evidence and obstructing justice here –- it’s the DOJ. We can’t trust them; we’ve already seen enough examples of their stonewalling, slow-walking, and massive redacting that turned out not to have been done to safeguard national security but to cover their own tracks. They’re such masters at self-protection in the face of legal challenge, you’d think they’d taken a course taught by Hillary Clinton. Maybe some of them did learn at her feet.

True to form, right after the meeting, Rep. Adam “Shifty” Schiff rushed to the cameras (leaving a slime trail) and said, “Nothing we heard today has changed our view, that there is nothing to support any allegation that the FBI, or any intelligence agency, placed a spy in the Trump campaign or otherwise failed to follow appropriate procedures and protocols."

Well, of course there isn’t! The Congressional committees are getting only what the DOJ chooses to tell them. Schiff and the rest are also using semantics to claim the word “spy” means something other than what we all know a spy to be. Also, what, pray tell, is meant by “appropriate”? That weasel word can provide cover for a multitude of what we would consider sins. Another weasel word in this context is “in”; no, we don’t have evidence (so far) of FBI spies “in” Trump’s campaign headquarters, but there definitely were spies “around” campaign staffers in remote locations. Oh, and even the word “placed”; maybe the spy already happened to be where they needed one, or some outside helper did the actual placing.

See, when you’re dealing with weasels, you have to get inside the mind of one. Remember when we had to parse every word uttered by then-President Bill Clinton? Those were the days.

Former CIA chief and noted liar James Clapper was one who objected to Trump’s use of the indelicate word “spy.” “I took aversion to the word spy,” the former head of our chief spying agency said on Thursday. “It was the most benign version of information gathering. The important thing is the whole reason the FBI was doing this was concern over what the Russians were doing to infiltrate the campaign, not spying on the campaign.” James Clapper taking aversion to the word “spy” is like chef Jacques Pepin taking aversion to the word “food.”

Besides, I don’t see anything benign about what the government was and is doing to associates of the Trump campaign. And, as many are now pointing out, if Clapper and Comey were so concerned about Russians trying to infiltrate, whey didn’t they “information-gather” (spy) on Hillary’s campaign as well, and why didn’t they brief Trump? Significantly, they discussed warning him but decided not to.

Lastly, Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) expressed outrage that John Kelly and President Trump’s lawyer Emmet Flood were in this meeting, when they actually weren’t. They just stopped by before the meeting to pass along brief remarks from the President about his desire for transparency. This took about 90 seconds, and then they left. The President’s outstanding press secretary has since issued a statement making this clear.

It seems Kelly and Flood needn’t have bothered stopping by. The remarks about transparency didn’t take.

Thank you for continuing to bring us the inside story! You and a few others make it possible for "common" citizens to know the truth. Please encourage President Trump to do what needs to be done, and asap! It's horrible to see our country spiraling into the abyss at the hands of totally corrupt, lawless people who have somehow managed to become all powerful and seemingly untouchable. God bless efforts to stand up for what is right!

It is hard to keep the faith when we keep getting promises & then nothing happens. What happened to our representatives being able to see what is going on instead of the deep states' interpretation of what is going on? I thought John Kelley would see to it that we the people would be informed with the truth instead it is just more of the same! We have given up on donating to the Republican party since it is no better in some ways than the Democrats. There are very few Republicans & no Democrats left that I would trust. Our money from now on will go to the PACS. No Republican need contact us asking for a donation!

Can we please get some information about the three men released from North Korea? Since their return, we have not heard anything about how they are doing or why they were being held, how long...or was that part of the negotiations on them being released, not talking about being held captive? There was so much coverage on the one who died shortly after being released, but literally nothing from any news outlet on these guys.

Time to convince President Trump to order complete transparency with no redactions. Then oust Sessions since he is hopelessly scared to do his duty. LET THE MILITARY TRIBUNALS BEGIN! No government agency is capable of impartial investigation of itself!!!!

It won’t make any difference. If The President takes any action at all, the press will scream so loudly it will be heard in Moscow without telecommunications. They probably planted people to try to keep Trump from being president, pure and simple. What makes we wonder about all of this is that the President has many years of very public business history. You know those against him must have examined everything they could get their hands on, yet where are the “scandals”. When you have a group of people who truly believe that their way is the only way, that they are the most intelligent, best equipped, and most compassionate elite in the world, to determine what is best for the American people, nothing is going to persuade them otherwise. Proof could be in black and white, people could testify to the abuses, and it would make no difference to them. If even a modicum of what has been thrown at the President had been thrown at the Obamas, or the Clintons, can you imagine the outcry there would have been. We know what’s going on, and deep down they know, too, but they have too much at stake to ever go there. To them the end justifies the meAns, ala the dictators and historical bad guys of the world. Socialism sounds great on paper, would that everyone would work and care about others, but history has shown that it just does not work. Capitalism is not perfect, but it has allowed the most people to enjoy a comfortable life than any other form , thus far.

Mike, long-time reader of your newsletter and admirer of your hard work -- both inside and outside the political arena. This is more of a technical comment on your donation link/website. I made a small donation today, but the new(?) site doesn't display properly in Google Chrome. I noticed it's a raisethemoney URL, which is different then the previous donation site you had set up a month or so ago. Anyway, as I put in my info and submit the payment, the frames look off where the 'Donate' button is. Finally, when you submit the payment, it goes to a blank page with the background image but no text (i.e. "thank you for your donation" or a similar message). Sorry to post this here. Feel free to pass it onto the relevant person and delete the comment if you wish. All the best! -Justin, Minneapolis, MN

Jeff sessions recused himself from the Russian collusion case. That has been determined that it was a diversion and never happened. Why cant he or won't he step up to the plate and start swinging now. He should be taking action to put the folks that actually tried to influence the election by means deemed illegal and unethical on notice. I am very positive that if anyone else had done these acts they would have been already in jail with the key destroyed.

The swamp is frozen over. We need some chisels, jackhammers, and torches to do any ice fishing. The left has proven to be 'steadfast' (a good word used in a not-so-good context, and mixed in the company of 'dirty money') and relentless; new methods are needed to break up the ice jam.

I am firmly seated on the Trump train, but I am wondering when he's going to grow the huevos to order declassification of these documents, fire Sessions, Rosenstein and on down the line until he breaks through the Deep State. Time to have a test whether the elected head of the Executive Branch has any control over subordinate offices of that branch.
In 75 years on this earth, I have never seen a President defied like this. We are devolving into a Balkanized government of appointed officials who feel they are independent agents. We elected Trump to stop the perilous Washington nonsense. Take a shot Mr. President -- What do have to lose?

I'm just your everyday hardworking proud American and I just really am at a loss. Can you please explain to me how something like this can happen in America? How can they treat our elected President this way and our elected Senators and Representatives? Do they think the American people are just too stupid to see how wrong this is? Just like they targeted conservatives at the IRS....... and on social media - we all know that this was SPYING!!!! Otherwise they would have told crooked HRC, the DNC, and the Senate and House Intelligence Committees.

I am so disappointed in AG Jeff Sessions, I have long been a huge supporter of him and I just can't believe this as all taken place under his watch. Gov Huckabee? Is there anything that can really and truly be done? Are they going to be allowed to go on stonewalling forever??? This whole thing sounds like something that should happen in a fictional movie - not in 2018 in the USA!

  • Dr. Shana Morris

    05/26/2018 01:33 PM

    Governor Huckabee,

I am in complete agreement with you that it is time for AG Sessions and Assistant AG Rosenstein to face impeachment!!! This charade has gone on way too long and it's time for the truth to be exposed!! I pray that God will continue to protect President Trump, his family, and all those who have the courage to come forth to help drain this evil swamp!!!

Also, I want to encourage President Trump, NOT, to sit down with Mueller or even give energy towards this sham of an investigation!! It is only a set up!! Do NOT take the bate, Please!!! Less said, Best Said.... God WILL vindicate, if Trump will heed this advice from ABOVE.

Sincerely Thankful for your efforts and President Trumps,
    Dr. S

The dems act like we are gonna give up. Let's teach them a lesson. I'm on a fixed income and can't contribute, but know my prayers are for fortitude and persistence. Continue pursuing the documents you need to prove the Obama administration and their spies are at fault and they MUST do prison time. We must prove to us all that what they did MUST NEVER happen again.

There is never an answer to what is going on with Jeff Sessions. I thought he only recused himself from the “Russian” portion of the investigation. Does this Spygate come under this? Is he quietly getting things done for POTUS? Working under the radar? Or, as many people think, is he in the swamp with Rosenstein and Mueller? Don’t you think Jeff Sessions needs to interfere and ar least be more visible? Or, does he need to be replaced?

I wonder, Mr Huckabee, who is directing Clapper and Comey? And just who gives marching orders to Clinton and Obama? Seems to me these people are far more frightened of someone than our president. And just what do they have on Sessions to keep him at bay. I think the bowels of hell is more appropriate than swamp. Governor Huckabee..........I'm a Vietnam vet (Army 1966-67) and I have also worked in the government (DoD), so I have some realization of why and how the government works I stayed away from politics. This country is in serious trouble and there's more troubles to come. That's my assessment of what has transpired and what will in the future. Here's some things to look forward to from the "Left".
    - Another crises before the November elections......they need control of congress. It's very possible this will come in the form a "false-flag" event.
-Their ultimate goal is to overthrow the legal elected government, by hook or crook, and install UN reps into the government. They will only keep parts of the Constitution that fits their plans, they will eliminate or change the rest.
    - They know they have the hearts and minds of decades long graduates that have been indoctrinated and brainwashed by all tiers of public education. They will be a very difficult cabal to beat, in fact I give the advantage due to their expertise in "grabbing" all the media, news and Internet.
All while us conservatives (now ex-Republican) continued to warn the RINO's in the party many years ago. What the Demon-crats are doing and the lack of action from Republicans comes close to treason.
Finally....Americans will not go quietly (you know that) we're looking a another Civil War and the loss of the best nation in world history. And it all happened because of politicians, not the citizens of this great country. Shame!

Good comments. Now, why doesn't the President of the U.S. exercise his power and standing by just sending in the Marshalls and retrieving all that he wants? The Left and complicit double-talking DOJ are openly demeaning this President as not legitimate. Take a stand!

BTW: The original letter from Rosenstein to Trump advising the firing of Comey was, I feel, part of the carefully-planned setup to arrange a complicit Special Counsel to eliminate Trunp and his team. Another part of an "insurance policy"?

    Mike,
I just wanted to let you know of a small correction needed in the past couple of articles published in your newsletter regarding Spygate. James Clapper was the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) established in 2004. Prior to that the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency was duel hatted as the Director of Central Intelligence. The biggest difference between the Director of Central Intelligence and the Director of National Intelligence is that the DNI has some budgetary and program authority as well as being the principal intelligence advisor to the President and the NSC. John Brennan was the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and did not have national intelligence responsibilities, per se.

BTW, I really enjoy your newsletter keep up the good work. DRAIN THE SWAMP.

It is strikingly apparent that the CIA, FBI and the DOJ are stonewalling and hoping for a change in the administration and congress so this whole investigation will be swept under the rug. Except for prosecutions of Trump allies by Mueller, of course! It is downright sickenibg to me.

Congress needs to subpeona the documents they seek from everyone in the DOJ and FBI and then have the federal judge lock them all up until they deliver the docs and impeach all of them without pay or retirement income at the same time. Their impeachment grounds are simple: Failure to uphold their Constitutional oath.

The Congress members who are not getting the documents they want with a proper party should go to a judge and have the judge issue a search warrant and have Federal Marshall's visit the DOJ and FBI and seize everything.

Thank you for your plain spoken insight and I might add that I truly sdmire your daughter. She is a warrior and I love her courage

I want truth and justice to come out into the full light of day, and I don't care what it takes or who it takes down. Jeff Sessions needs to be impeached immediately and replaced by Trey Gowdy immediately, the gloved need to come off, and the game needs to switch to hardball. Anyone, and I mean anyone, who has participated in the furtherance of criminal activity needs to, judiciously but swiftly, find themselves as a long term resident of federal prison, with absolutely no consideration or perks! I'm absolutely sick to death of dems thumbing their snotty noses at out Constitution and laws.

How can millions of supporters get a message to President Trump to demand immediate delivery of unredacted documents to Congressional oversight, and declassify if not done in 7 days?

  • Mary Ann Brewster

    05/26/2018 01:01 PM

President Trump needs to send a small contingent of Marines, fully armed along with Kelly to facilitate the acquisition of the unredacted
information along with a set of handcuffs for the top DOJ people, including Sessions who seems to have disappeared. Maybe he is stuck in the Deep State Swamp and can't untangle himself or scream for help. Either that or send some angry mothers like myself who are tired of this runaround, Sara could lead us. She definitely has the Right Stuff!

  • Susan Kay Worsley

    05/26/2018 12:16 PM

It is strikingly apparent that the CIA, FBI and the DOJ are stonewalling and hoping for a change in the administration and congress so this whole investigation will be swept under the rug. Except for prosecutions of Trump allies by Mueller, of course! It is downright sickenibg to me.

Congress needs to subpeona the documents they seek from everyone in the DOJ and FBI and then have the federal judge lock them all up until they deliver the docs and impeach all of them without pay or retirement income at the same time. Their impeachment grounds are simple: Failure to uphold their Constitutional oath.
