“It’ll eventually come out.  You cannot hide something this corrupt this long.”

So said FOX News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett on Monday’s “Hannity,” speaking in the context of new revelations about James Comey personally stopping an offer of immunity to Julian Assange that would have provided technical evidence of whether or not Russia did the hacking of documents relating to the 2016 campaign.  It’s a stunning story, but before getting into the details, I’d like to make an observation that I think is really important right now.

OUR TOP STORY: What happened at the Red Hen was nothing like the Christian baker case

Going through readers’ comments, I’ve been struck for some time about the note of resignation underlying many of them.  It’s understandable; when Obama was President nothing happened to political operatives --- I mean, “public servants” --- serving under him who misused their offices and/or lied:   Lois Lerner at the IRS, former Attorney General Eric Holder and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, just to name a few.  Some, perhaps most, will never be held accountable in a court of law.  Common sense tells us that Obama was involved, he’ll probably live out his life in a mansion in Hawaii.  Hillary has always skated; she likely will again, though we KNOW what she did (well, a lot of it).  And it’s frustrating when the only wall to be put up is the one around the DOJ.

But the Clinton/Obama years are over.  And we’re going to dig until we reach the dregs of what they left behind.  This is how the swamp is drained; it’s a slow, mucky, often demoralizing process.  We don’t know what’s under there, but we know there are big gators, the kind who went to Harvard and wear suits and carry briefcases.

If Hillary had been elected President, we never would have known.  But she WASN’T, and while we were on our knees thanking God, the swamp dwellers were going into panic mode.  Imagine how much more corrupt the system would have been after just one term –- maybe two, dear lord  –- of Hillary Clinton.  Just look at the hysterics going on now among deranged “progressives”;  we’ve churned the waters and disturbed their comfortable lairs.  At this point, the process is underway; it won’t be pretty but it won’t be stopped.

One caveat:  if the Democrats win the midterms, they’ll do whatever it takes to stop the clean-up.  They’ll subvert democracy by impeaching the President over nothing and take control of the investigative committees in the House and Senate.  They’ll do it with impunity, with the media on their side.  This scenario must be prevented on Election Day.

Bu thanks to Republicans on those committees taking their constitutional duty seriously, and certain reporters who should receive Pulitzers but probably aren’t counting on it, we are getting to the bottom of this.  I believe Gregg Jarrett is right.

Now, here’s that fascinating expose from The Hill’s John Solomon, one of the “certain reporters” referred to above, about more of James Comey’s swampiness.  To make a long story short (a link to the full details is below), in January of 2017, Julian Assange’s legal team made overtures to the new Trump administration about negotiating an immunity deal with the DOJ.  Assange, as you know, was holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where he remains to this day, and the intelligence community believed he possessed information and technical expertise that would benefit our national security.  He was not going to reveal sources, he said, but redactions were negotiable.

And this part, I believe, is key:  According to Solomon, Assange offered to include “technical evidence and discussion regarding who did not engage in the DNC releases.”

One of the players in this back-and-forth, Democratic Sen. Mark Warner of Virginia, apparently talked with then-FBI Director Comey about their negotiations, and Comey, amazingly, passed along instructions through him to “stand down.”  Do NOT pursue this.  According to multiple sources, the FBI counterintelligence team did not know what motivated Comey to come out with such a baffling directive.  It muddled the negotiations and the damage was done:  Assange released some specifics of our CIA malware used for cyberattacks, then-CIA Director Mike Pompeo slammed Wikileaks as “a hostile intelligence service,” and, gosh, we never did find out who it was who did not hack the DNC.

Russia, perhaps?  Assange has insisted that it was not the Russian government or any other state operative, but all we have is his word.  He was going to provide hard evidence.  That would have destroyed the narrative that Russians did the DNC hacking and perhaps add support to the theory that it was an inside job.

Don’t lose heart.  Instead, brush up your Shakespeare, who said, “Truth will out.”  It WILL be known.

I agree with you, Governor, that as the swamp is drained, the muck/mire and monsters will be exposed. This is all so very discouraging, as we see the hate being spewed by the MSM and the left--and the GOP/RINOs aren't much better--so thankful for the few Republican leaders who will speak out and pursue this mess! Our ONLY hope is to keep on interceding for our nation, and our President/family and VP/family and the righteous people who are in leadership positions. We MUST get out the Christian vote for the mid-terms--that is what turned the tide in 2016! God help us all!

A fun thought!! A sure way to solve the immigration issue. Lock the 4 leaders, Republican and Democrat, in the same kind of space on the border with 1 secretary, security guards, same meals and accommodations and don't let them out till these "leaders" come up with an answer together. As one of the doubters that anything will be done to the corrupt swamp dwellers, I do thank you for the encouraging words at the beginning of your Morning Edition. You are right, I believe God put Trump in as President and God will protect him as long as "we the people" continue on our knees praying for him. As you say, one caveat, if Christians do not vote this November or vote for the enemy.

Seth Rich!! It's so obvious considering he had access to the DNC server, he was disgruntled DWS rigged the primary for Hillary over Bernie, and the FBI reported a reward for guns missing from one of their cars about 2 hours prior to the murder and less than 2 miles away from the murder scene. If I could post the maps and everything then I would. Comey had to know about the murder which is why he had local police halt their investigation into the murder .. and Seth Rich's laptop just sits in an evidence locker which probably proves he sent the emails to Wikileaks.

I am not as confident as you seem to be that the "Truth" about all the swampiness will come out. There seems to be many gators in this swamp and they have learned how to hide over the years that they have lived in the swamp. The bias and self preservation that prevails in the DOJ and the FBI still seems to be holding very well. Even the IG sounds like Comey with his report that there was obvious bias against Trump and in favor of Hillary but somehow miraculously did not affect the handling of the Hillary and Russian investigations. The swamp will take years to drain if it ever is. There seems to be a never ending stream of revelations of bias and resistance but none of it quite reaches the level of illegal criminal action. I think most of the American people believe that criminal action took place but it will never be proven, these gators are too good at covering their tracks and have too many other gators watching their backs. I am worried that the progressive and liberal sheep are going to keep fighting no matter what it takes. Their desperation is now manifesting in direct confrontation and near rioting and physical attack against any conservative or Trump supporter. As these confrontations escalate they will turn violent and who knows where this will lead as conservatives begin to defend themselves and fight back.

The then-CIA director Mike Pompeo was the one who did not want to listen to Assange?
I reallly thot that he would have wanted to get to the truth, not deny him the right to supply it?
So much of the wikileaks were why we began to see, what Hillary had (so much) to hide.
Mike Pompeo is a great SOS, but I am really questioning his judgment on that one.
CIA director Bush 41 was corrupt, in my opinion, bc he pushed for the NWO, even into the Reagan Presidency.
I am not sure which others were corrupt, but those under Obama were and still are.
There is so much crime and corruption among many D's and R's, that support the NWO, instead of our Constitution and our nationalism/capitalism.
I trust DT, and know that God put him there. I am watching for many miracles, that God is doing within this admin, and know that God will deal with those that are corrupt, in His own time and way.
We may never see these crimes judged on this side of eternity, but God will take care of it, by His mighty Justice and Will.
Thank God that He loves and cares for everyone, and desires all to turn to Him.

Assange wanted to bargain for immunity from prosecution for publishing extensive and highly classified CIA computer hacking tools. He should be arrested at the earliest opportunity and tried for espionage. If convicted, his appeal would give a more conservative SCOTUS the opportunity to revisit the New York Times Pentagon Papers precedent that insanely gave the press a First Amendment get-out-of-jail-free card if only involved as an accessory-after-the-fact in stealing and disclosing classified intelligence information. The Constitution is not a suicide pact. Prosecute Assange and anyone else at WikiLeaks who was involved.

Another serious revelation connected to Comey. The damage the Left is attempting to do is palpable and this didn't just happen under Obama or Clinton or Bush. I believe the depth of the depravity and corruption was many years in the making. Was there one instigator or many? The main thing now to be concerned with is the ramping up of violence and threats against Trump supporters. The Left: 1. First you identify your enemy; 2. then you start belittling them, accusing them, threatening them; 3. then you bring out the gangs, the anarchists and 4. you start hurting people. Astrologically today, June 26 is the beginning of Mars retrograde. Mars stands for the God of War - upheaval, change, grudges and grievances.

No cell phones, no extras, Think it might work?......fun thought!

I know this is my second response to your article but I wondered why you would permit an ad for a democrat at the end.

John Burnett - THE DEMOCRAT - for Jackson County
John Burnett, the democrat, who wants to restore integrity to Jackson County. johnpburnett.com

I'm from Jackson County, MO and John Burnett is not one that will "restore integrity" to anything.

Obstruction, lack of caring about the country and its future, the level of hatred and move toward violence are disheartening. So, is this our version of the decline and fall of the Roman Empire?

What good will it do if "it will be known", if NO ONE is EVER held accountable? We can vote & vote & vote but people are STILL judged "not guilty by reason of elitism and political connectedness". And government wonders why we don't trust ANY of them!

    Wow!
Thank you, Mike, for all that you and your family does, to honor and please the Lord.
    Sincerely,
    Carolyn McCraw

It also is a time to go within and come to grips with things that have plagued you for some time. I'm hoping the latter will prevail.

I don't believe Trump was involved in the Russia issue, but, the fact remains that A, Moscow did attempt to influence the election through bogus social media accounts, exploiting several issues at the time, and so on, and, B, someone did hack those documents, more then likely an intelligence service of some country.

The truth will come out. As secrets unravel each player won't be able to keep silent, worried someone will give them up in the scenario. You will see this unwrap as time moves on. Remember! Alligators can only stay under water so long-they HAVE to come up for air!!

Why are none of the corrupt facing any charges? Where are the honest people who have power in Washington? Trump is our gift from God and I do not think God will allow his impeachment. He will be protected, but our Nation need honest people running it, not just an honest President.
