One very common question sent to me by readers is this:  “WHY hasn’t President Trump fired the whole bunch –- Sessions, Rosenstein and Mueller???”  (I’m including plenty of punctuation because those comments typically have that.)  And yes, readers, you are right about about all those people needing to go.  Sessions, by recusing himself from anything “Russia” --- and, it seems, just about everything else in his job description --- has rendered himself worthless in his position as attorney general.  Rosenstein has apparently given Mueller unlimited power to investigate anyone for anything using any tactics.  He actually signed off on the last renewal of the warrant application that misled the FISA judges who granted permission for the FBI to spy on Trump associates.  And he’s in the untenable position of being a potential witness in a case that he himself is supervising.  As for Mueller, he’s obviously on a highly partisan fishing expedition that will destroy as many lives as necessary to catch the big fish.

There are two ways Mueller, with no evidence of crimes, can still land his fish.  One way is through the courts –- even going after people for activities that AREN’T CRIMES –- to be followed by the report he’ll write to offer some pretense for impeachment.  The other way hasn’t been talked about much but needs to be, and that’s for Mueller to use himself as bait.  Let me explain...

I had a slap-to-the-forehead moment after seeing a headline on The Drudge Report that said, “Dems worried Mueller getting fired” and going to the story.  The link took me to the NBC News website and a story called “In Case Of Mueller Firing, Break Glass:  Democrats prep an emergency plan.”  But this story isn’t about Democrats being worried that Trump will fire Mueller.  On the contrary, I got the impression that the Democrats are hoping and praying (the ones who pray) that Trump will fire Mueller, or Rosenstein, or pardon key witnesses.  In fact, they’ve worked up a detailed plan ready to go the minute he does it.

The authors of the piece interviewed nearly a dozen lawmakers, congressional aides, Democratic operatives and attorneys who were involved in the planning.  The first step, to be accomplished immediately, would be to prevent any special counsel documents from being destroyed or the team disbanded.  Senate Democrats would immediately demand a floor bill to protect Mueller and his materials.  Rank-and-file Democrats in both the House and Senate would immediately contact everyone on a list they’ve already put together of Republicans they consider to be sympathetic, some of whom, according to this article, have said privately they would act if Trump interfered in the investigation.

MoveOn.org has already organized and is ready to mobilize 933 rallies in predetermined locations, from big cities like Los Angeles to smaller towns like Bismark, North Dakota.  They’ve even got sponsors!  More than 350,000 people have already RSVP’d to attend.  They’ve planned this down to the hour; if Mueller is fired by 2PM on a given day, the rallies will take place at 5PM the same day.

Democrats are hoping that Republicans will be caught up in the protest and see that Mueller’s firing is so egregious that they’ll go along.  (Um, this is where they’re wrong.  Millions of Americans would cheer if Trump started firing these people, but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t cause huge problems for this White House.)

Documents have been drawn up for every contingency the Democrats could think of, including Trump's pardoning of Manafort and/or Cohen and the possibility of a Nixon-style “Saturday Night Massacre.”

Trump’s decision to revoke ex-CIA Director John Brennan’s top-secret security clearance has apparently signaled to Democrats that they can’t predict what he might do and so must be ready for anything at a moment’s notice.

If Trump fires Mueller or Rosenstein, the Democrats will take to the floor of both Senate and House and demand obstruction of justice hearings and a special Senate committee, similar to the Senate Watergate Committee, to pick up where Mueller left off.  Democratic groups are prepared to demand that the Senate shut down until there’s a resolution.  Some will call for impeachment proceedings.

Letters have already been drafted from House Democratic leaders demanding hearings (Mueller would be called to testify right away), IG investigations, and information from White House counsel Don McGahn and the DOJ about any communications they’d had with the President before the firing.  Demands and more demands, all ready to go.

This has all been in the works for more than a year.  A “Friday group” of Democrats meets weekly to discuss the “Russia” investigation and keep the impeachment dream alive, and another weekly meeting includes groups such as MoveOn, Public Citizen, Indivisible, Common Cause, and People For The American Way.  “Different Democrats have laid out different red lines for what actions by Trump would trigger a full-blown crisis response,” the article states.

OUR TOP STORY: Manafort and Cohen: what does it mean?

The Democrats obviously don’t care if they wreck America to bring down Trump.  It’s for love of country that Trump must not fire Mueller, Rosenstein or Sessions, no matter how much they deserve to go.  I’m reminded of a recent tweet from sleazy porn lawyer Michael Avenatti (who’s probably getting money from some of these same groups):  “We. Are. Coming.  We are going to end this dumpster fire of a presidency one way or another.”  It’s their plan that sounds like the real dumpster fire, and potentially much worse.

    The Republicans should demand a special counsel be appointed and given the same broad authority as Mueller to investigate the real Russian collusion of Hillary Clinton and the Demcrats. Governor Huckabee,
    I'm disheartened by your article. I pray for Mr. Trump daily, and will continue to do so, but I feel helpless in providing anything that could reverse the terrible disharmony in our beloved Country. Governor Huckabee:
    Thank you for continuing to peel back the layers of hatred, bias and corruption. First, I would like to share with you that I believe Rosenstein's recommendation to fire James Comey was to set up the President and that first step worked. Now the country is more divided than ever and the odor coming from Mueller's offices is nauseating.
    Unfortunately the Dems, the Trump haters and even the rich people like George Soros don't get it and never will. The power of prayer and God's will made Donald Trump our 45th President. The power of prayer can be used again - for the mid-term elections. If you believe this will work, pray specifically for a Republican landslide in the elections:
    (1) that the Republican Senate candidates will unseat the incumbent Democratic Senators to give the President enough votes in the Senate to pass a new immigration law and provide enough funding to build the wall;
    (2) that the Republicans will pick up more seats in the House;
    (3) that a conservative who supports the President will be the next House Speaker;
    (4) that Mitch McConnell will be replaced by a Senator who supports the President and not repeat as Senate
    Majority Leader;
    (5) if it's God's will, Judge Kavanaugh will be confirmed as the next Supreme Court Justice before the mid-term
    elections; and
    (6) Mueller's investigation will implode.
    Remember, no one thought Donald Trump would win the Presidency, but Franklin Graham planted the seed in 2015 and launched massive prayers every day and night. We are fortunate enough to have a sovereign God in control of everything and not even George Soros can buy Him.

    Dear Governor Huckabee:
    Re your story "Dems ready to launch all-out war...," what are we, who elected and continue to support President Trump, supposed to do about this??? What can we possibly do to fight this or stop it? We don't even trust much of the Republican so-called "leadership" to fight on the President's and/or our behalf, so, please tell us what our options are. Because we're beginning to have a sickening feeling that there really aren't many, if any. We all know the Dems and libs are hell-bent on destroying President Trump along with just about anyone who supports him, even if it includes destroying the soul of this country. And we also believe there are enough crazy, hateful people out there that they can probably accomplish that. IS THERE ANYTHING WE CAN DO (besides begging God, of course!)??? You say you read all these comments, and I've written you a number of times - would you please answer this question? Yours is one of the few voices we still trust. Thank you and God bless you and the USA!
    Karl & Lynn Nielsen

    (1) that the Republican Senate candidates will unseat the incumbent Democratic Senators to give the President enough votes in the Senate to pass a new immigration law and provide enough funding to build the wall;
    (2) that the Republicans will pick up more seats in the House;
    (3) that a conservative who supports the President will be the next House Speaker;
    (4) that Mitch McConnell will be replaced by a Senator who supports the President and not repeat as Senate
    Majority Leader;

Commentary continues below advertisement

Maybe they .ca. catch a few lawbreakers in their broad net. Give the democrats a taste of their own medicine. It boggles my mind that they have been so silent. If they let this President fall, the base will have their revenge!

    Rinos,Dems, DOJ, FBI, liberal media, activist justices all wanting a coup. I can understand thinking like this in bad times however because of President Trump we are prospering (economically, militarily, diplomatically). These groups seeking a coup, benefitted from the status quo and have much illegal stuff to hide. I hope we are not a nation of useful idiots that would go along with this power play.

    If the President lays low and doesn't confront or fire those who are impeding progress he will have to live with the regret that he had the power and didn't exercise it. Elections have consequences only if the policies promised are implemented. Draining the swamp seems appropriate.

    Governor Huckabee,
    I'm disheartened by your article. I pray for Mr. Trump daily, and will continue to do so, but I feel helpless in providing anything that could reverse the terrible disharmony in our beloved Country. I hear and read comments about a possible civil war. One war in our Country was more than enough. What is to happen to us? What kind of country will my grandchildren have? I have years rolling down my cheeks as I type this. I find myself humming and singing God Bless America frequently. My pray is that He will.

    God bless you for your wise analysis and explanation for those of us that don’t have the keen insider understanding of politics that you have acquired over many years. I applaud you for standing strong beside our president. This looks to me like an all out assault of Satan and all his demons on our president, who has been a president that is fighting to protect Christians and their rights as well as our beloved America. Sarah is a brave steadfast lady of the Lord who daily walks courageously into a room where a group of gnashing fiends begin their attack. That is how it appears to me. I often pray for her. I also pray for our dear president. I hope many others will join me in this. I think our hope is in prayer. The arm of the Lord is not shortened that it can not save. Thank you to your family and you for your service.

    If there ever was a time, where so much political discord has driven a stake between the idiological thinking of Americans. It is now.
    I forsee dangerous things. Perhaps even a "new and improved" civil war.
    That would be the end of this great republic we call, the United States of America.
    I pray to God that the Holy Spirit will lead our President and the leaders of Congress to not let this get to the point of no return.
    God Bless Us All.

    I was so thrilled when President Trump won! NOW I simply PRAY, day in and day out for the Lord to fight the Battle! "The Battle is the Lord's" but Christians who DO pray need to be at it non-stop. And get out the VOTE!!! It can get SO disheartening at times for me and I'm sure for so many conservatives in America (and I know YOU know what I'm talking about ... your courageous daughter is in the fray to the max ... as are YOU, I'm sure). Please don't stop with your light in a dark season ... "for such a time as this!" Your fan, Ann

    This is so scary. If they actually impeached President Trump I cannot believe for a moment the American people who voted for him would stand by idly. Let's see what the mid-terms bring. If Republicans manage to maintain control of both houses and stay on course in their DOJ investigations and come up with their own plan to get rid of Rosenstein, Sessions, et al, then this country has a chance. Of course President Trump is still draining the swamp and all of this takes TIME. I fully believe there is justice, but the wheels of justice do grind slowly. The swamp will not drain overnight.
