The House Republicans who until now headed committees whose investigations are now shut down will “not go gentle into that good night.”

Democrats made it clear well before Nancy Pelosi clutched the gavel that they would be terminating all non-Trump-related investigations, saying their only purpose was to deflect attention from the Mueller probe.  (Have you noticed that EVERY perfectly legitimate attempt to look into what Democrats have done is called “an attempt to deflect attention from the Mueller probe”?  That phrase must have tested off-the-chart in Democrat focus groups.)  Knowing this would happen, outgoing Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte of Virginia and Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy of South Carolina released a seven-page letter disclosing their findings regarding the “investigation” (ha) into Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified material.

The letter summarizes their findings and calls for a special counsel to look into decisions made in the Clinton investigation and the “Trump/Russia” probe, particularly the “disparate way these two investigations were seemingly conducted.”  (“Seemingly”??  I guess that word is obligatory, like the word “alleged” to describe a deed we know happened but that the jury technically is still deliberating.)  Addressed to acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, it contains “significant new details,” which, according to FOX News’ Catherine Herridge, do not cast former FBI Director James Comey in a good light.

Recall that it’s Comey, by overstepping his authority at the FBI and announcing that “no reasonable prosecutor” would take the Hillary case, who preserved her 2016 presidential candidacy.  Comey told reporters on two separate occasions that the decision not to pursue her case was “unanimous,” but this letter shows that House investigators found evidence to the contrary.  According to then-FBI General Counsel James Baker (meaning their top lawyer) and multiple other witnesses, they had the evidence needed to go forward and were not unanimous in their decision to drop it.

Who are you gonna believe –- multiple witnesses at the FBI who were concerned about the way Hillary’s case was being handled, or James Comey?

Oh, and were you aware that one of the three attorneys advising him during his House testimony, Columbia University law professor Daniel Richman, is the very person Comey has testified he supplied with notes from his conversation with President Trump (DOJ property, and arguably classified) to get the ball rolling on a special counsel?  And now Richman and Comey enjoy attorney-client privilege.  (What is this person doing as Comey’s attorney?  It’s as crazy as Cheryl Mills acting as both Hillary’s attorney and a potential witness in her case.  Or Rod Rosenstein supervising Robert Mueller when he was a potential witness in the “Trump/Russia” case.  Oh, wait, those things happened, too.)

Speaking of Rosenstein, the House letter also includes references to witness testimony regarding his comments about wearing a wire to record the president and possibly invoking the 25th Amendment to unseat him.  The committees tried for many months to get Rosenstein to testify, but he managed to run out the clock.  “The questions deserve to be asked,” the letter reads, “and the DAG deserves his chance to respond.”

But Lindsay Graham now heads the Senate Judiciary Committee, so we can be sure he’s on it.  Good thing, too, because unless a special counsel is appointed, it’s up to the Senate now to get to the truth.

Every time I go to the gas pumps and experience that drop on fuel prices, I want to thank Pres Trump! Those of us who are regular hard working or retired Americans are benefiting from the savings. There's not much praise for the POTUS re this and no complaints from the mainstream media, either. But, they probably don't pay for their own gas...just turn in receipts or mileage records to their employers.

This is all very disgusting. Every Christian Conservative has no faith in the DOJ or FBI, because no one is brought to justice. It's talked a lot about it but nothing is done. Gowdy is a lot of talk no real action. Why are Muslims allowed in our government when they won't even uphold our Constitution and put their hand on a Bible. We are sitting back and allowing it to happen. We will all be sorry if this continues.

Bob Goodlatte and Trey Gowdy--a few good men!!! God love 'em. Surely this letter could be made available to the public. We should be able to see all the details in a cogent manner instead of just the snippets we have been privy to so far. That's just a real hoot--all investigations not related to Trump/Russia collusion detracts from mueller's focus. Well, that is, just side-line anything having to do with democrats, hilary, obama, comey, FBI and DOJ, fusion, sztrok and his girl friend, etc etc etc. It's okay, though, for them to continue to harass anyone who breathed the same air as Donald Trump, get them on coerced charges and charges unrelated to anything Russian--collusion or not. Goodlatte and Gowdy will be missed!!!

Generally speaking, the Conservative Cause (including Trump) has been blocked at every turn, The liberals and the Democrats (often one and the same thing) are hell-bent on destroying American values of virtue, truthfulness, equality under the law (just witness what has happened to Michael Flynn and Dinesh D'Souza!), and patriotism. There are moments when I feel utterly betrayed. Then I remember that there IS a God in Heaven, and He is the giver of all good things! He WILL protect and justify those who look to Him. All this info spelled out in their final letter is well and good however, as what is the case for what I feel many Americans feel, it will come to naught. Gov. Huckabee, I want to thank you for your common sense comments on political issues. Because of you, I understand more about what is happening in our nation politically than ever before. If I didn't trust in God and know that He is in control, even in the midst of our nation's greatest turmoil, I would be terrified. Thank you for bringing forth truth and uncovering the lies.
Since you understand our political system, I'm hoping you can enlighten me in the area of financial support. I regularly get solicitations from the Republican National Committee and of course they state that to show my support for President Trump I need to contribute to the RNC. I definitely want to support President Trump, but I'm not so pleased with the Republican party at this time. Actually, I'm very frustrated that the Republican senate has not supported funding the border wall. There are obviously still a lot of "swamp" people in our senate that need to leave! Is there a way I can show support to President Trump financially other than through the RNC? Blessings to you and your family this New Year!

The only people that even care are those of us who still believe in the Constitution and Rule of Law and that isn't most of the people in America's Governments. We have known for years the most politicians are crooked yet every election they are re-elected. We know Barack and his whole administration were the most corrupt in history and not one has been arrested or tried for their crimes against America. The mid-terms were so very important yet where were the people who care as they certainly weren't at the voting booths. Dozens of voter fraud crimes have been found yet how many people are in jail for it? How many of those politicians elected with illegal votes were not sworn into office? We know there is crime in Government but when it is even hard to get ten people to agree on anything what will ever get done to bring this Country to the image that the good have for it.

I believe bob goodlatte & trey gowdy are a bunch of idiots for allowing the mueller probe to continue while they had the majority of the house. They knew that this was a witch hunt from the beginning, but allowed it to continue by trey gowdy saying, "I believe robert mueller is a wonderful man for this investigation." If I am correct. So shame on these dumb stupid rinos for adding gas to the fire. Now, for sure the mueller probe will continue, unless whitaker has the balls to call it off. He's a big guy. He shouldn't be bullied by robert mueller. It's only up to trump to declassify those docs, if he wants to defend himself, & make america great again. If not, then his goal of maga, is out the window. Trump must act quickly. What did trump say in his tweets, & in the press briefing? If house democrats start to investigate him, he will open up the investigations against them, cause he has the knockout punch. Well, it's time to start swinging for the knockout, cause these democrats are out for blood. Trump must go for the knockout. If not, he will be knocked out.

YES on the investigation discussed, but ALSO the "Uranium 1" affair, which includes Mueller.

And prayer is MUCH stronger than elitist "power"!

All this info spelled out in their final letter is well and good however, as what is the case for what I feel many Americans feel, it will come to naught. Just like Obama is sequestered behind the walls surrounding his mansion in NY so too are the Clinton’s and are untouchable by the people who deserve and demand justice.

Please continue to encourage the President to continue the shutdown until he has enough money and support to build the wall. Also praying for his and his family safety and health as well as for the Vice=Pres. Please keep informing all of us on these affairs, and other new worthy news that effects our nation. Thank you for keeping us informed.

Thank you! Your commentaries are great!
We are not interested in any DACA compromise. The media has this narrative going that Americans want a solution. No, we don't want DACA.

WE ALL know what will happen with Clinton's, Comey, and the rest of the alphabet people. NOTHING! Our government has become a cesspool and the only way to clean it up is to get rid of EVERYONE currently serving. I use serving because the only thing they serve is themselves. No one in Washington takes into consideration they are supposed to represent WE The People. They lookout for self and the people can just go to Hades! It is time for a complete change of the guard because the guards are on the take. They may not feel they will be judged, but every one of them will stand before our Lord on judgement day and each and every one will be sent to Hell. Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord and He will judge harshly!

I'm sorry Mike but I just can't seem to be as excited as you seem to be about any kind of investigation going anywhere on this. All that this group of democrats want to do is block and fight the POTUS at every turn. I believe this is the worst congress that has ever been put in control of our country. I am really concerned for the next two years and beyond unless people wake up and see where we are heading.
My God Bless these United States of America.

Mike how does our country get away from the two political parties fighting against one another back to doing what needs to be done? It appears that laws, lawyers and judges and government regulations as well as politicians have finally succeeded in splintering the country into way too many "sects." I blame both political parties, the crooked campaigns, the ridiculousness of Political Correctness, our new "Education and Indoctrination system, the loss of truth, morals, beliefs, respect, religion. How do we hold people like Pelosi, Hilary and others accountable for her actions criminally?

Why do we constantly ignore ludicrous insults to our nation and leadership. One nation under God, which god, or the ONE, The Way, Yahweh, The Holy one, The Creator Father, We should not include the koran for oaths. Might as well as uttered her degrading remark as her oath.

"....Richman and Comey enjoy attorney-client privilege." Ahh, does that not invite the FBI to conduct a "No Knock" 5 a.m. raid on Sir Richman's hideout, home, wherever, and confiscate records? I mean, if they can do it to the POTUS' lawyer, fair is fair, right?

I have no idea how to correct it, but one of America's greatest negatives, to me, is that; wars are rarely won, criminals wait out the clock, millions in tax money is spent on unresolved investigations and Lord only knows what else takes place as the reigns of government changes hands so often! There seems to be very little follow- through, unless we face annellation as in the 2 great wars. I'm not sure we could come together and face a 3rd one!
Really pains me to see justice not finished. However, It will be some day!!

What the heck is Minnesota thinking?
The swamp needs to be drained faster.
The senators need to give up all their pay for every day the government is shut down.
The language used by the newest electees from Minnesota and Nancy Pelosi and others is totally unacceptable and needs to be addressed. These are elected officials not children with bad manners. Build the wall and DRAIN the swamp Mr. President.
