A while back, we examined Hillary’s participation on the Watergate committee in 1974, when she was a 26-year-old recent law school grad, and the proposals she made --- thankfully shot down by the Judiciary Committee --- to control the process for impeaching Nixon. Now that the full House of Representatives has voted, along partisan lines, to approve rules for Schiff’s “impeachment inquiry,” which still has not been formally initiated, we can see that when it comes to denying a political enemy due process, Hillary (at least then) was an amateur.

Since those days, the Democrats have refined their skills and expanded their tactics. As I’ve said, they do not care about preserving concepts such as due process and executive privilege. With glistening eyes, they brandish the Constitution while knowing deep in their hearts that they would secretly use it for toilet paper if that got them what they want at the expense of their political enemies. They worship one thing, and that is power. We now see, very clearly, that the “whistleblower” complaint that kicked off Schiff’s secret “inquiry” was a set-up from the start. And it’s not an impeachment at this point, just a way for Schiff to pick and choose what he wants to release to try to shape a narrative that calls for one.

So, what are the “rules” that just got approved by the Democrats (no Republicans voted for this garbage), and how does this process differ from that followed by the Judiciary Committee during the Clinton inquiry? To start with, we don’t have the Judiciary Committee looking into it; we have numerous other committees instead.  Here are a few more examples...

Schiff has the authorization to make transcripts public, BUT HE IS NOT REQUIRED TO

He must prepare a report for the Judiciary Committee, BUT HE GETS TO SAY WHAT GOES IN IT.

Other committees are authorized to hand over “records” and “materials” to the Judiciary Committee, BUT THEY DON’T HAVE TO.

The resolution does provide for some due process, BUT ONLY AFTER THE CASE IS REFERRED BY SCHIFF TO THE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.

Committee chairs must consult with the ranking (Republican) member, BUT APPARENTLY THEY GET TO CHOOSE WHAT THEY REVEAL AND WHAT THEY DON'T.

This means the House may choose to withhold information exculpatory to President Trump. During the debate on this provision, Arizona Republican Debbie Lesko proposed that the language be changed to say the chairs of those committees “shall” be required to transmit exculpatory evidence to the Judiciary Committee. The ensuing discussion tells you all you need to know: that the Democrat congressional leadership is capable of using mental gymnastics to rationalize ANYTHING and counter ANY argument made by a Republican.

Joel B. Pollack at Breitbart News lays it out (link below). Lesko thought it was absurd for members to have to rely on a partial account provided by Schiff, and noted that in previous impeachments, members of the Judiciary Committee would have heard the entire testimony for themselves, including exculpatory evidence. “There is no reason why anybody in this body should disagree that all materials must be transferred to the members of Congress on the Judiciary Committee,” she said.

Well, who needs a reason? Democrats don't, but they countered with some lame ones. Rules Committee chair Jim McGovern of Massachusetts said there might be national security risks associated with transferring all the evidence. Lesko pointed out that, at least at this point, there is no classified material involved and that members could not be expected to vote on impeachment with incomplete information.

Sure they could!  Democrats countered Lesko again by saying that language such as “shall” (as opposed, I guess, to “may if they feel so inclined”) would be “too broad, taking in irrelevant as well as relevant information.”

Georgia Rep. Bob Woodall argued that the committees were already authorized to turn over everything if they wanted to; this would just guarantee that exculpatory information definitely would be.

Not so fast! McGovern countered by saying that Republicans would be allowed to submit a minority report –- mighty nice of them –- and that if Republicans had been serious about improving the bill, they would have submitted their improvements earlier.  (See?  It's all Republicans' fault!)

Republicans pointed out that they had received the resolution only 24 hours before.

Too bad!  “I understand the point Ms. Lesko is making,” McGovern said, “but I think it’s a poorly drafted amendment. And I think it is all-encompassing, and I think it could potentially be dangerous to somebody.”

Texas Rep. Michael Burgess correctly noted that a prosecutor who withheld exculpatory information would face penalties.

Doesn’t matter! Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin countered Burgess with the false canard that the impeachment process is like a grand jury. Lesko had already attacked that argument by saying a grand jury wouldn’t be allowed to leak the way the Democrats on this committee have been doing.

So what! Raskin then countered with the ludicrous claim that the resolution was going to make all the material available to all the members. Lesko pointed out that the resolution merely “authorized” them to release it; it didn’t require them to, which was why she had proposed an amendment requiring that.

Shut up, Republicans! All right, let’s vote.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/10/30/democrats-reject-republican-amendment-requiring-turnover-of-exculpatory-evidence-in-impeachment/

Also, here’s a good opinion piece to serve as follow-up on Eric Ciaramella, who has been named by many sources as the person who posed as a whistleblower to kick off the “inquiry.” It reiterates what we reported yesterday, that this person, with his ties to John Brennan and others in the group spearheading the attempted “Trump/Russia” takedown; that this is someone who had tried before to use leaks from the White House to damage Trump; that his other associations, such as with DNC officials, are telling; and that an acknowledgement of his identify destroys the anti-Trump narrative and shows it to be an obvious set-up.

“Moving forward on impeachment based on the word of Ciaramella is like initiating a study to prove tobacco is healthy because of a report presented by Philip Morris,” it says. But as we see from the bizarre debate over "inquiry" rules, that won’t stop the Democrats from shooting down any arguments against doing so.

If Eric Ciaramella really is the whistleblower, the whole impeachment narrative is decimated

Once again, our eyes are opened by You, Governor Huckabee. This whole charade has gone way too far. The problem is (as I see it) that the people who can make a difference don't listen or read Your newsletters, etc, nor do they listen to conservative TV stations, FOX, ONE etc. Schiff is a prevaricator of the truth, gives one sided information and is very smug about doing so. It's too bad he can't be taken off as the head of this committee. What good is our Constitution going to be now or in the future? Are we setting ourselves up for more of these kind of actions if we don't like (or hate) someone badly enough? How can all citizens get this information? We certainly can't rely on the majority of the news media! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank You for all Your efforts, Governor.
    Sincerely,

When are we going to stop referring to them as Democrats? They sure don’t look like the party of JFK, Tip O’Neil or for that matter, my mother. They should start wearing red stars to show their true beliefs. Also, don’t understand Judge Napolitano’s anti Trump bias.

It is time for the Congressional Budget Office to be required to release the expenditures to date for the impeachment scam. It should include the House members' total percentage of time spent equated to salary $$, staff support time and equivalent salary expense including overtime monies. US taxpayers need to know.

OK ... so we are now well aware that the Democrat Party is as corrupt as anything America has ever seen. Our Constitution is supposed to provide enough checks & balances to protect the American people against this kind of corruption. Why are we still just talking about how bad they are, instead of arresting them? Schiff just carries on like an Emperor who answers to no one! I certainly hope that we’re not headed to the ultimate reason why the founders added the 2nd Amendment! Will Barr REALLY be able to stop this?

Since the House made their own "rules", the Senate Judiciary and other committees should subpoena the same witnesses. Under penalty of perjury, cross examine the same testimony.

If this is not stopped we are doomed as a country. What's going on in Washington has rolled down to communities and is happening right now to my son. Judge Axon in Birmingham appears to be working with the FBI and is supposed to be a Trump appointed judge. If she were Trump-like, she would believe in "innocent until proven guilty" . Instead, she, the FBI and media, have already convicted without a trial. May God help our country, our President and my son. Thank you, my prayers continue for our God appointed President Trump!

This is just another example of the lefts lawlessness. They deny due process to the Republicans and the President while twisting the rules to push their agenda. They are trying to impeach the President for performing the duties of the President. They really believe they are above the law. I believe it is time for the Supreme Court to step in and let the Democrats know their rules are unconstitutional since they do not conform to the spirit of the Constitution which allows due process in regard to confronting your accusers with cross examination and being able to call witnesses in rebuttal. I have not been inclined to vote for and Democrat for many years now, mainly because of their immoral stances on issues like abortion. As things in D.C. go along I see their immorality has no bounds now. What ever their heart desires is what they are determined to go for. I do not like the direction they have determined to go and if given the chance I will fight it with vigorous effort. But when all is said and done all I really have to do is sit and wait for I know God will require an answer and they will not be able to answer. They will see what they have done to themselves and not be able to change what they brought upon their very souls. People can laugh at what I have just written if they wish, I really don't care, but when the final call is made, it is not going to be a pretty site for these folks. Their hate and contempt for the American public and people in general through their immoral dealings will bring a price they can't pay. I feel very sorry for them that they think they can get away with this type of behavior. May the Lord God of Heaven be merciful on their soul.

It divides our country and weakens it and it is a huge sham. I just pray the Lord will prevail in keeping our President in place and destroying the democrats that aim to destroy this country and our president. This is a sad dark day in the history of this country. Thank you for doing your part in supporting our country and our president, Gov.

May I sum up the whole process of the Democratic party and their foolish attempts to discredit this current President inorder to gain power to control the nation.
The Psalmist wrote in Psalm 36:1 An oracle within my heart concerning the transgressin of the wicket: there is no fear of God before his (their) eyes. Verse 3, The words of his (their) mouth are wickedness and deceit; he (them) has ceased to be wise and to do good. Having quoted those verses I confess I rest in God's sovereign providence.

At this point it appears the islamocommunist party AKA Dems believe they are holding all the aces. One by one they are being exposed as jokers. At this point what difference does that make?
Our nation should not have to go through this obvious miscarriage of justice and gross abuse of power. It is further deviding the sides into a setup for open warfare potentially bloody conflict.
The DNC has proven to be nothing more than a treasonous cabal intent on overthrowing our Constitutional Republic. We the People will not allow that since we are still armed to the teeth and are awaiting the provocation to initiate our second revolutionary war. The Constitution gives us the authority and duty to do so in these cases of an egregious over reach of power by any portion of government.

If Nancy Pelosi and the other Democrats who are trying to illegally remove our President are so concerned about preserving our Constitution, then why are they so adamant about eliminating the 1st and 2nd Amendments?

This is sickening. Reminds me of Pharaoh, the Dem's hearts are hardened. They don't even know what the word truth means. God help us!

This is just making me sick! How can this happen? I watch them lie lie lie. All I can do at this point is pray that God takes a hold of the situation and brings an end to this coup.

There has to be a way to stop this runaway train! As we watch this all unfold, what, besides vote, can We The People do to help our President? The process the Dems have put in place is totally disgraceful!

I am so discouraged with this country right now, that this can even be allowed is beyond me. It is a witch hunt and it should not be taking place at all!

Who believes anything that comes out of Schiff's mouth....he has lied his way through this entire impeachment process. He needs to be charged with treason!

Sounds to me like McConnell gets to make up his own rules too. I suggest that if the Dems don't follow precedent, the Senate is not obliged to even take up impeachment.
