ARROGANT, FREEDOM-CRUSHING GOVERNMENT

For any person of faith who thinks it’s safe to vote for today’s Democrats or to stay home on Election Day and not make your voice heard, just look to Virginia. They elected a Democratic legislature and Democrat Gov. Ralph “Blackface” Northam, and they have been suffering under arrogant, freedom-crushing government ever since. Here is the latest result of their government’s utter disregard for the rights of the people.

Three Christian schools and a Christian network of pregnancy centers are suing the state to prevent implementation of a so-called LGBTQ rights law that is actually a “replace religion with the state's beliefs" law. As always, it has one of those benign names that obscure its destructive and partisan intent: the “Virginia Values Act.”

As Tyler O’Neil at PJ Media reports, the lawsuit charges that the state is requiring “ministries to hire employees who disagree with their beliefs on marriage, sexuality, and gender; mandate that the ministries hire employees whose beliefs and lifestyles are ‘antagonistic to the ministries’ convictions;’ prohibit the ministries from firing employees who oppose their missions; require the ministries to provide services in a manner that violates their beliefs; ban the ministries from even communicating their biblical beliefs; make the ministries use their facilities in a way that contradicts their beliefs; and force the ministries to pay for ‘gender reassignment’ procedures in their health plans, even though the ministries object to these procedures.”

And if they refuse to substitute the state's PC values for their own? They will “face investigations, an onerous administrative process, fines up to $100,000 (!) for each violation, unlimited compensatory and punitive damages and attorney-fee awards, and court orders forcing them to engage in actions that would violate their consciences.”

The lawsuit charges that the law “targets the Ministries by singling out their religious speech and belief for hostility, and by showing favoritism towards, preferring, and promoting religious beliefs that approve of same-sex marriage and transgender ideology.” In doing so, it unconstitutionally relegates religious people to the status of “second-class citizens, outsiders, and not full members of the community.”

Since the Democrats took over with a 55-45 majority in the House and a scant 21-19 majority in the Senate, they have repeatedly shown contempt for the wishes of the citizens (who have protested in droves to no avail) and the First and Second Amendments.

Here's a little math to mull over: Virginia has over 6.25 million residents over age 18, and in the last election, over 3.6 million didn’t vote. Northam beat the Republican by less than 235,000 votes. How many of those 3.6 million non-voters are people of faith who didn't realize that not bothering to vote would result in an all-out assault on their religious freedom? Well, now they know.

That’s the cost of not voting: having the left attempt to force its version of “Virginia’s values” on you and your church in place of your real, constitutionally-protected Biblical values.

A lawsuit shouldn’t even be necessary. The Bill of Rights should have reigned supreme from day one. Now that you know how much respect Democrats have for it, the solution is simple: go to the polls and vote as if your right to hold your own sacred beliefs depends on it -- because as Virginia has made chillingly clear, it does.

PS – To prove that some people understand that protecting First Amendment rights is more important than immediate partisan advantage, the American Humanist Association has filed an amicus brief, supporting the Alliance Defending Freedom in a Supreme Court case defending a Christian student’s right to share his faith on a Georgia college campus outside of the designated “free speech” zone.

It sounds as if the atheist group has read the famous poem that starts, “First they came for…” You can’t use the First Amendment to protect your right not to believe in God after it’s been destroyed by people who want to take away the rights of those who do believe.

HOW POLITICS WORK

Wednesday night, while media talking heads were still having the vapors over Tuesday’s debate being so Trumpy, a little news happened that I’ll bet they find no time at all to cover. Senate Republicans brought back a bill that they first tried to pass in 2019 called the Protect Act. It would ensure that people with preexisting conditions are not denied health coverage.

Guess who voted against it? If you said Chuck Schumer and the Senate Democrats who’ve been accusing Republicans of wanting to deny health coverage to people with preexisting conditions, then congratulations: you’re getting the hang of how politics in Washington work.

NEW STYLE GUIDELINES

The Associated Press issued new “style guidelines” for “reporters,” because bad news about Democrats doesn’t just cover up itself.

The A.P. seems concerned that calling all that violence, arson, assaults and looting in Democratic cities “riots” might be giving readers the mistaken impression that rioting is taking place rather than “peaceful protests.” So they’ve taken the now-common Orwellian approach to the problem by simply changing the language in hopes of hiding the reality.

The A.P. starts with the typical premise that calling a riot a “riot” is racist: “Focusing on rioting and property destruction rather than underlying grievance has been used in the past to stigmatize broad swaths of people protesting against lynching, police brutality or for racial justice, going back to the urban uprisings of the 1960s.”

They suggest using “protest” or “demonstration” because those can technically refer to an action that’s violent or peaceful (and why inform readers which one it is?), or use “unrest” instead of “riot” because it’s “vaguer, milder and less emotional.” But really, just vaguer. Hey, why not “pep rally”? I love one of the comments at Twitter: “Oh, A.P, you’re a riot!” Side note to CNN: if you’re really trying to keep your viewers from knowing that there’s a riot goin' on, don’t call it a “peaceful protest” while standing in front of a burning building.

Too bad George Carlin isn’t still around to comment on this, since making language fuzzier to obscure the meaning was one of his favorite topics – such as the way that “toilet paper” somehow became “bathroom tissue.” Now, anything written by the A.P. about riots has become “toilet paper.”

"NORMALIZED"

The left has “normalized” marijuana, burning the American flag, rioting, looting, racism (against white people), kneeling during the National Anthem, attacking the police, censorship on the Internet, politicizing movies, sports and TV (all in one direction), resegregating and banning free speech on campus, abortion up to and beyond birth, and kiddie porn on Netflix. How could they possibly sink any lower?

How about by trying to “normalize” Satan?

HOUSE BILL REMOVES $600 MILLION IN POLICE FUNDING

In Tuesday’s debate, Joe Biden claimed that the only one who was calling for defunding the police was Trump, claiming his budget would cut local law enforcement assistance by $400 million. Psst, Joe: you might want to call Nancy Pelosi. The latest version of the House Democrats’ COVID-19 relief bill removes $600 million in funding for police that was in the original version of the bill.

MEGA-VIRAL

Amid all the political fighting, division, hatred and name-calling, the Rev. Franklin Graham had a post-debate message that deserves to be shared far and wide. And that’s exactly what happened on the Internet.

TWEET OF THE DAY

An NBA player allegedly tweeted during the debate, “F—America, bro, I’m moving to Hawaii.” The tweet was later deleted. I wonder who told him?

    Mr. Huckabee,
Yes it is sad what is going on in Virginia. I have family in Virginia. They live in Northern Virginia right outside of DC. Uncle who retired from an agency after 30 years and now works for a contractor. He is just a few years older than me. Years ago, he had co-oped with Georgia Tech and graduated with a degree in Physics. I have 1st cousins living there who are as young as 22 years of age. But yes the state of Virginia is truly saddening due to this Governor. I find it very disturbing. And, Republicans just seemed to not get it. They cannot pow around with the now Democrat Party. As for the debate, the President won 100% even with the crap from Chris Wallace. Let me say this, I have often told the Team Trump and others, Republicans do not listen or they never seem to notice until after the fact. They do not think ahead at all. Maybe a few of them do. But they are always behind the eight ball. I know Americans who stopped watching Chris Wallace long before this President was even elected. I cancelled my cable in 2018. I could not afford it. Plus I started getting tired of their crap. Forcing Bill OReilly to leave. Plus, the time Fox News suspended Judge Jeannine Pirro due to Congress lady Omar. Ms. Pirro was wrongly suspended. Judge Jeanine was only repeating what was already all over the news. When this happened I for sure left Fox News. Conservatives getting crapped on everywhere for zero valid reasons. I have had enough of this crap everywhere. I had already had enough in the VA. Shutdown everywhere particularly in the last 10 years. Even a VA Social worker runs into me in a food supermarket. Conversation decent until the social worker brings up the President. Social worker did not like me disagreeing with her. Social worker brought President up not me. She just up and walked away. Another VA provider back in 2016 slamming me when provider found out I was voting for the current President. Put it like this, I would not care if the President half sized the federal government because I am pretty fed up. As for Republicans, most of them I do not care for either. There are maybe a handful. In all honesty, I vote Republican but I am not a Republican. Regarding the past happenings on many issues, I find it hard to tell the difference among most of them. I mainly align with Devin Nunes, Jim Jordan, Marsha Blackburn, Ted Cruz,,,

    Hello Mr. Huckabee,
Defunding of law enforcement is actually leading them to establish the illegal law enforcement. A law enforcement that does not serve to protect people from criminals and wrongdoing but one that enforces tyrannical actions against people. The Democrats are flipping or want to flip the role of law enforcement to serve as taking down innocent people and stripping people of rights and freedoms.
Mr. Huckabee, Alachua county has already stripped law enforcement here. Many have lost jobs. And, this is a Republican run state under Governor DeSantis. They are claiming by doing this they are lowering the taxes by over 6 million dollars. It is funny how they reduced the force but yet the Alachua County Sheriffs are stopping people and giving people tickets in the 45mph zone coming back into Gainesville from Jacksonville, Florida. And, the government officials are defying the executive order by Governor DeSantis in regards to the mask wearing. Double standard. A few weeks ago, I observed an Alachua County Deputy Sheriff walk into a business while wearing no mask and come back out without wearing a mask. County Commissioner was noted not wearing a mask in a business and this was put on Facebook. But yet they issued citations to people for this. Many people went to other counties to conduct their business. I am serious. Two of my friends mentioned to me about empty streets and homes for sale and homes for rent. A few of my friends in good career areas left Gainesville. They went to Atlanta, Texas, and Arkansas for higher salaries and lower taxes. University of Florida has been having furlough information sessions. I truly do not understand it at all. How is it that Democrats cannot see that their policies and regulations and laws do not serve anyone? Of course they see it. They are the party of death and sabotage. Best.

What is happening in Virginia is absolutely disgusting. You know, it seems there should be a movement to unify people of faith in at least a social and political sense. What if Protestants, Catholics, Mormons, Jews, and even US Constitution loving Muslims and Buddhists would unify in a movement to vote out these atheistic, Satanic, Virginia values from our whole country. Like you said, a lot of people don't vote, so why not try to encourage all people of faith to vote out the Democratic Party which is anti-faith? Stand for freedom of faith. Stand for morality. Stand for workers of a faith to have to be examples of that faith. Stand for freedom to speak our faith. Stand for respecting others who believe differently so everyone's First Amendment rights are protected.

In response to this article, unfortunately, two out of three of our grown children (a son age 44; and a daughter age 42) will not be voting this year. They were already leaning in that direction, but the debate settled it for them. I’ve written several times in this comment section; indicating in my last submission regarding your article on the debate, that I will vote for our President, but wish we had anyone else to choose that would work as hard as he does, but handle his disputes behind closed doors. My son and daughter voted for him in 2016, but in their words, “I can’t stand him.” He has not listened to a great many of his constituents nor has he listened to advisors and Republican leaders who’ve told him to minimize or tone down all the tweets and nasty rhetoric. He lost the election Tuesday, in my opinion. All of his many achievements, i.e. the moving of our embassy to Jerusalem; the three Nobel Prize nominations for his accomplishment in the Middle East; the economy; the tariffs placed on China; his attempts to address North Korea...so many achievements; yet, his schoolyard behavior, immaturity, and bullying are just too much and cast a huge shadow over all the good work he’s done. If he’d have kept quiet on Tuesday and not talked over Biden, Biden would’ve likely gone off track and rambled. Trump is his own worst enemy...

The media can no longer be referenced as news reporters. They are in actuality TV personalities, not news reporters or journalists. They are self focused and self impressed with personal goals to achieve mostly name recognition by stating startling and untrue observations from their self serving bubbles. They are now pushing the foolish idea that white supremacists are behind the greatest violence & destruction in the US. BAH HUMBUG.

    Dear Gov Huckabee,
I am SO distraught over the news of the video showing Joe Biden wearing a wire during the debate.
    WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?????????
I eagerly watched Tucker, then Hannity, then Laura Ingraham and not one word was said about this despicable act.

In case you haven’t seen it, the video is from James Woods and shows when Biden reaches into his coat & adjusted something. I said to my husband, at that moment, “what’s he doing?” Everyone expected him to cheat, especially after refusing the search. AND HE DID!!! Please DO SOMETHING! I’m at a loss here.?????????
    Best regards,

I wonder if Virginia is going to require all businesses to hire people that are not qualified for a position simply because they are part of the LGBTQ group, because that is essentially what this new law requires. Ministry positions, no matter what the position, have certain requirements that must be met, just like most every other type of employment. Actually, this new law could mean that any LGBTQ organization could not refuse to hire a Christian heterosexual man or woman simply because of the person not agreeing with the organization's policies.
This new law is nothing less than a way to continue to attack the Christian foundation and all of those people who declare Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Mike---Two SBC missionaries tried to force me to have an abortion when I was 9 mos. pregnant overseas. >>> I have for 45 years begged for help from the foreign mission board. Their moral cowardice & spiritual homosexuality is a stinch in the nostrils of Jehovah God.>>>I tried to tell one deacon that his miss. were blackmailing me regarding sending my baby back to a country where they had a person they knew went crazy & boiled their own baby. A friend was there when they brought that baby in and he told me that he had seen a buddhist monk set himself on fire in Viet Nam but he had never seen anything like this before in his life. He said its meat literally fell off its bones. It is strange to me that SB preach against tongues and they can but they don't have the honor or the guts to listen to a woman. >>>At one time I made myself look bad so I could leave my baby with my Mom & Dad. And, I considered suicide. because they were after me & not the babies. I can't take anymore----Their blackmailing me regarding sending my baby back to that nightmare has no degree of honor or decency. I need some help writing this book. It is possible that I might loose my insurance because of the lies of those sons of satan and daughters of the devil in our own church. I cannot take anymore--- you have advice???? Bonnie P.

Criss Wallace and now John Roberts have finally exposed their Bias and it's NOT what our Founders envisioned; But then they NEVER expected to have to explain the underlying Principles they worked from.

    Best regards,
    Judith Aiello

Bonnie P.

The LEFT is being Forced to push ahead with their Socialist, Anti-American Agenda because I think they FEAR a repeat of 2016. If the Republic has a Chance of Survival that will be sending ALL PROGRESSIVES to the ash heap of History . Trump is taking pages out of Saul Alinsky's play book and using them against them. Criss Wallace and now John Roberts have finally exposed their Bias and it's NOT what our Founders envisioned; But then they NEVER expected to have to explain the underlying Principles they worked from. John Adams " This Republic was meant for a Moral and Religious People and TOTALLY Unfit for any other" All else is watching the D's playing POLITICS while the Republic is being decimated.
