GOP-trashers: Take "the Gen. Hayden Challenge"

Former Vice President Mike Pence, in Manchester, New Hampshire, Wednesday morning for a speaking appearance, took the opportunity to defend the FBI, saying, “We can hold the attorney general accountable for the decision that he made without attacking rank-and-file law enforcement personnel at the FBI. Attacks on the FBI must stop. Calls to defund the FBI are just as wrong as calls to defund the police.”

Pence is testing the waters for 2024 and perhaps he needs to be clear in his support for law enforcement. Trump could end up being his political adversary in 2024, and that’s something to keep in mind when listening to anything he says now about Trump and the FBI. Especially if it's said in front of the January 6 kangaroo court.

Mike Pence is my longtime friend, but he might also want to remember that most Republican voters see a great need to reform the FBI, completely rejecting the idea of maintaining the status quo (swamp). We are NOT attacking the rank-and-file agents, most of whom must be mortified about what’s going on at the Bureau and the Department of ‘Justice.’” Certainly the upper levels of the FBI are out of control. Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan reported last week that 14 FBI whistleblowers have come forward. We wish them well. This is about a federal police agency run amok by tactics that reek more of the East German Stasi than the revered FBI. Criticism of what the agency has done in its political overreach and brute tactics against (exclusively) conservatives and Republicans is not lack of respect for the police, it’s the respect of a greater power—the Constitution which gives citizens protection against the very things the politicized and weaponized FBI and DOJ have come to be at their leadership levels.

Tucker Carlson, speaking on Laura Ingraham’s show Wednesday night, said, “It’s deranged. You can’t have a democracy if federal agencies are openly interfering in elections.” Yet, they have, while pointing fingers at Republicans as being a “threat to democracy.”

“If you actually wanted to defend democracy,” he said, “which is a system of self-government, you would push back against government agencies trying to affect election outcomes, which is what they’re doing. This is nuts. And I guess Mike Pence in New Hampshire doesn’t see it.”

Pence should be stressing the need for reform at the 'Justice' Department. I wonder if most of the people slamming Republicans these days have ever even met one. Ingraham showed a tweet from British journalist Edward Luce saying, “I’ve covered extremism and violent ideologies around the world over my career. Have never come across a political force more nihilistic, dangerous & contemptible than today’s Republicans. Nothing close.”

What?? Republicans are far worse than any of the extremist terrorists he’s encountered around the world? Is he out of his mind? Goodness, most Republicans just want to live in freedom, get along with people, have law and order and equal justice, find good jobs and raise our families. And it sure seems that we care vastly more about the Constitution and “our democracy” than those criticizing us do. That’s pretty much it. We want the government to stay out of most areas of our lives, as it’s simply none of their business. When did we become nihilists? I still say the left is projecting its own nihilism and hate onto us.

As Ingrahm showed, Gen. Michael Hayden re-tweeted what Luce had written, saying, “I agree. And I was the CIA Director.”

Recall that Hayden re-tweeted another bit of viciousness just the other day: a photo of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who were executed in the 1950s after being found guilty of spying for Russia. He added, “That sounds about right,” meaning execution for Trump. This man ran the CIA, under George W. Bush. I don’t know how much he might have changed since then, but he’s Exhibit A for what has gone wrong with our out-of-control intel community. He’s delusional, suffering from “long TDS,” and needs to quarantine himself until he gets over it, if he ever does. He also should lock away his phone, as President Trump isn’t the only one who invites criticism for his mean tweets.

I’d like to issue a challenge to Gen. Hayden and, by extension, to Mr. Luce. Let's say we set up two rooms. Room #1 contains five people selected at random from the studio audience of my TBN weekend show, HUCKABEE. These almost certainly will be the conservative "today's Republicans" you loathe, who will probably want to greet you, tell you about their families, hear some of your stories and share homemade pie. (They might also say "bless your heart" and give you an earful about the CIA, but you need to hear it.) Room #2 contains five of the terrorists who hacked off journalist Daniel Pearl’s head with a dull, rusty blade.

https://www.outlookindia.com/website/story/the-brutal-beheading-of-daniel-pearl/214638

Which room will you enter?

If you choose Room #2, well, at least you had the courage of your convictions. It was nice knowing you, and we hope you didn't suffer too much, though you probably did. If you choose Room #1, then you have to admit you were full of horse manure, apologize to all Republicans (a special apology to President Trump) for your crass stupidity, and refrain from tweeting forever.

LEAVE A COMMENT, I READ THEM.

Ainsworth: The Speech I Wish Trump Would Give, two years later

by writer/researcher Laura Ainsworth

After the sickening sight last week of the FBI’s raid on former President Trump’s home, it seemed that the United States of America really had morphed into something unrecognizable. A dangerous corner had been turned.

That reminded me of something I wrote during the 2020 campaign, exactly two years ago by coincidence; it appeared in the Huckabee newsletter on August 14, 2020. You might remember this: the speech I wished Trump would give before the election. (One idea was that he give it as an opening statement at the Presidential debate, so everyone would hear it live and uncut. It’s a little long for that, though and would’ve had to be delivered as a paid political ad.) This speech warned about what our country might become if Trump lost to Biden and the DNC, and today I think most of us would sadly agree that as a nation we are THERE.  It has come to pass.

My fantasy speech acknowledged that this might happen simply because many voters didn’t like Trump's style, or him personally, and it reached out and asked for their support in spite of that. But Trump never gave a speech like this, and the disaster of which it spoke is exactly what happened on Election Day and its aftermath –- with a little help, of course, from covid, mass mail-in voting, unsupervised drop-boxes, unconstitutional changes in state voting rules, etc. etc. etc.

I’m wondering if this time, candidate Trump, knowing what’s at stake for our country now, might BE more “presidential,” more measured in his tone and less likely to be distracted by pettiness as he focuses like a laser beam on reforms. His statement about “lowering the temperature” now suggests he might be. He was baptized by fire when he entered politics, he now knows how deep the Deep State truly is, he SHOULD know by now who his allies are (and are not), and on the theory that what does not kill us makes us stronger –- which certainly seems true in Trump’s case –- he might be unstoppable now. (Of course, he’ll have to have the best attorneys on Planet Earth to defend against the relentless lawfare.)

Trump's rights under the 4th Amendment clearly have been violated, under the cover of an outrageous search warrant that allowed the feds to take every scrap of paper from his entire presidency. The rights of his associates continue to be similarly violated. I admit, this is far worse than what I had anticipated when writing the original piece two years ago. Trump’s adversaries are determined to crush anyone who gets in their way. If a newly re-elected President Trump can’t stop these goons from ripping up the Constitution, who can?

Anyway, here’s the text of the speech I STILL wish then-candidate Trump had given before the 2020 election:

PRESIDENT TRUMP:

"My fellow Americans, I love my country –- I love America, with all my heart. I always have. And I feel really bad right now, because millions of Americans, just because they don’t like ME –- don’t like my style, don’t like my tweets, don’t like things they think I’ve said (most of which are twisted-up versions that convey something I never intended) –- are ready to vote for anybody but me. Anybody. I mean……..ANYBODY. That’s what “never-Trumper” means, after all; I know that. And THAT means, right now, this country is in big trouble.

“Because they don’t like ME, some Americans might unwittingly put into power a radical political machine that will decimate their most basic freedoms, with ruthless, violent tactics and a long list of demands that will change America into something unrecognizable, probably forever. (Some of this has been a long time coming, but because the virus hit, they’re jumping on the crisis as a way to take control quickly.)

"Because they don’t like ME, some Americans might unwittingly offer inroads to groups that literally want to destroy American cities --- that are ALREADY destroying American cities, GREAT American cities.

“Because they don’t like ME, some in our government abused our own justice system to try to bring me down, and if they get away with what they did, mark my word, they’ll do it again to the next leader they don’t like. They went so far as to accuse me, with no evidence at all except for what was falsified, of working as an agent of Russia. It was crazy –- 2020 will go down in history as “the year America went crazy.” Who needs Russia to interfere in our elections when we’ve got our own bureaucracy to do it, as well as various outside influences with virtually limitless resources, pouring money into radical leftist anti-American groups?

“Because they don’t like ME, some Americans ignore all that I did --- before the virus arrived from China to at least temporarily undo much of it --- to bring the economy back like gangbusters after years of weak semi-recovery. They ignore the incredible benefit that came out of that to hard-working Americans, men and women, of all races, in all walks of life.

“Because they don’t like ME, some Americans even ignore the legitimate work of some doctors and researchers because they think it’s more important to believe I’m wrong. And they forget that I was the one to stop incoming travel from China and Europe, which likely saved thousands of American lives, when my opponents ridiculed that.

“Because they don’t like ME, some Americans paint me as someone I don’t even know. Really, I don’t even recognize myself from what they say. If I met that person, I wouldn’t like him, either! They’ve said I only care about myself, when that is such a lie. I know, I know, it’s just politics. Say whatever you need to, right? (Like Kamala, she knows all about that.) But those of you who don’t like me need to understand: the object of your hatred is a phantom, something made up. My own style –- which can be misinterpreted, I know –- may have helped fixate that in your mind, as I’m obviously not a slick politician, but it’s still false.

“I don’t care a whole lot about that part of it, because I knew when I got into politics that it would be rough. I got into it anyway because I love my country and had a beautiful vision of what we could do. I kind of expected the lies from the politicians, but the media –- you have a lot to answer for. Because YOU don’t like me, you have become a shameful propaganda machine for my opponents. You are to journalism what potted meat is to chateaubriand. And it doesn’t seem to matter to you how this might damage our country in the long run. You just wanted Americans to hate me.

“And now, because you did your job and some of them DO hate me, they may be on the verge of putting into power a group of people, those on the far left, who don’t know what in hell they are doing. I mean, they don’t. We can all see they don’t, unless pure anarchy really is what they want. They’ve shown they can’t run cities. They can’t run states. They won’t enforce the law. They’ll gladly take away your police AND your means to defend yourself.

And everywhere they look, they see racism that in most cases isn’t even there, except in their own minds. They don’t understand that in our country, in just the past several decades, most hearts and minds have changed drastically about race, which is fantastic. And it was only going to get better. It’s as if for some reason they weren’t comfortable with that and wanted to do something, quite deliberately, to make it worse again. I wonder why that is?

These people don’t care about law and order. They don’t care about your personal freedom. They don’t care about learning from history; they want to rewrite it to fit their own agenda, which is to tear down the results of hundreds of years of hard work and incredible advancement.

“Now, simply because some Americans don’t like ME, America is in jeopardy of losing everything that makes it...America. I want you to be aware of this when you cast your vote. PLEASE don’t put our beloved country into the hands of people who are set on destroying its very foundation, and I am not exaggerating, not one bit. I love this country. I’ve showed you the kinds of things I can do for this country, to make it better for all. We’ll get through this virus, and you know I’m the one who needs to be in charge of the vibrant recovery we’ll need afterwards.

So I’m asking for your vote. Remember, it has to be a landslide vote that can be counted right away because so many people will be mailing in their ballots –- vote in person! –-and it has be decisive to save this country from even more chaos. More is at stake now than almost ever before in the history of our country, and I know you realize that. Thank you with all my heart, and God bless America.

'Justice' Department update: 14 whistleblowers come forward

There’s potentially some very good news in the fight for liberty and against tyranny. The ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, announced Sunday on Trey Gowdy’s Sunday FOX NEWS show that 14 FBI agents have come forward as whistleblowers. “There are lots of good people at the FBI,” he said. “It’s the top that’s the problem.” These rank-and-file agents are saying that what’s going on is “baloney.” They’re talking about the school board issue, Jordan said, and “a whole host of issues.”

Also on Sunday, President Trump, in his words, “respectfully requested” that the ‘Justice’ Department “immediately” return materials they took from Mar-A-Lago during their pre-dawn raid on his home a week ago. He posted on his platform, Truth Social, “Oh great! It has just been learned that the FBI, in its now famous raid of Mar-a-Lago, took boxes of privileged ‘attorney-client’ material, and also “executive privileged material, which they knowingly should not have taken.”

The request specifically cites at least five boxes and another set of documents. I suppose that, if they do return these, the FBI will still be holding on to other items that were noted in a property list they released on Friday: “binders of photos, a handwritten note, a leather-bound box of documents, and an ‘executive grant of clemency’ for longtime aide Roger Stone.”

The ‘Justice’ Department is still maintaining --- and mainstream news is reporting --- that Trump had possessed “classified” documents at Mar-A-Lago, but it seems clear that he, under his authority as President, had declassified them and was keeping them in a secure space on his property guarded by Secret Service agents. Compare this to the way Hillary was treated after putting classified emails –- which she had no authority to declassify –- on her private email server, where they were much less secure and easily hackable.

For the best laugh you’ll have all day, check out this brilliant mash-up video made after then-FBI Director James Comey’s infamous “no reasonable prosecutor” speech on July 5, 2016.

https://thelibertydaily.com/comey-clinton-mashup-is-the-song-you-needed-to-hear-today/

As we’ve reported, legal analyst Andrew C. McCarthy has thought all along that this is really about tying President Trump to January 6, not “classified” documents. Former Attorney General Michael Mukasey concurs with McCarthy.

https://video.foxnews.com/v/6310873045112#sp=show-clips

And now, the NEW YORK POST is reporting that Liz Cheney has a connection with the huge, high-powered Democrat law firm Latham & Watkins, which has represented the DNC, Hillary for America, Michael Sussmann, and many others. They also donate big-time to Democrat candidates. Cheney’s husband Phillip Perry has been with the firm since 2007, though the POST says this has “not been previously known.”

We beg to differ --- this HAS been previously known. In fact, you might have known it yourself if you watched my March 5th HUCKABEE show on TBN. In my opening monologue, Liz and Phillip are right there on the FBI-style “cork board” showing the incestuous connections in our Washington DC sewer. My writer/researcher Laura Ainsworth dug up the connection months ago. Never say we’re not on top of all this! Anyway, enjoy…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIr5gPGHEKM

Here’s the POST story.

https://nypost.com/2022/08/13/liz-cheneys-husband-is-a-lawyer-defending-hunter-biden/?utm_source=email_sitebuttons&utm_medium=site%20buttons&utm_campaign=site%20buttons

REDSTATE has it, too.

https://redstate.com/mike_miller/2022/08/14/who-knew-liz-cheneys-husbands-law-firm-represents-hunter-biden-in-dojs-grand-jury-probe-n612133

We would clarify that Cheney’s spouse is not one of the attorneys of record for Hunter Biden --- just a partner at THE Democrat powerhouse law firm in DC, the one up to its neck in DNC political garbage. And that is bad enough. Latham & Watkins has another major connection worth mentioning again as well: partner Nicholas McQuaid, who was appointed by Joe Biden on his first day as President to lead the ‘Justice’ Department’s criminal division. That might help explain a lot.

https://www.grassley.senate.gov/news/news-releases/on-day-one-biden-installed-law-partner-of-sons-defense-lawyer-at-doj-criminal-division

Anyway, McCarthy appeared with Trey Gowdy on FOX NEWS Sunday evening to explain quite clearly why he ties the Mar-A-Lago raid to January 6. (Highly recommended watching; link below.) “This is clearly an open-ended warrant,” he said, “to the point of nearly being a general warrant. It actually enables the FBI, pursuant to the judge’s authorization of the warrant, to retrieve every single scrap of paper, regardless of whether it had anything to do, not only with classified information but with any crime at all, that was generated during the four years of the Trump administration. There’s no restriction on it whatsoever, and what I thought they were up to here was basically trying to do a fishing expedition to see if they could find information that’s relevant to the Capitol riot that might help them make a case arising out of January 6, and, looking at the warrant, I think that’s exactly what it is.”

My first thought was, if they’d do something this drastic to try to find evidence, it must be that they have come up dry so far.

McCarthy also addressed the so-called “procedures” for declassification that some are accusing President Trump of not following, explaining why that complaint is bogus. Here’s the full show.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mEnOX1jKUc

Law professor Jonathan Turley expressed similar concerns.

https://jonathanturley.org/2022/08/14/justice-department-accused-of-taking-attorney-client-material-at-mar-a-lago/#more-192522

Recall that Tuesday of last week, the day after the Mar-A-Lago raid, Pennsylvania Rep. Scott Perry was approached by three FBI agents who confiscated his personal cell phone while he was traveling with his family. They have since returned the phone –- after no doubt downloading all the information on it –- and have informed him that he isn’t a target of their investigation, but the damage has been done. Perry appeared on SUNDAY MORNING FUTURES to give Maria Bartiromo more details.

The suspicion is that they’re on a fishing expedition for anything they can use to tie President Trump to the riot on January 6. As if that weren’t bad enough, this particular FBI action sure seems to carry the taint of political retaliation. That’s because Perry is chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, which had issued articles of impeachment against Attorney General Merrick Garland over his targeting of parents as “domestic terrorists” for expressing their opinions at school board meetings. “So, yes,” he told Maria, “this might be, again, having the Freedom Caucus, those members, again, bend the knee, submit to the will of the establishment or else.”

Kash Patel was outspoken on Maria Bartiromo’s show, explaining how what’s happening now is tied to the phony “Russiagate” scandal: “Basically the same corrupt FBI government gangsters, the same agents that were involved in Russiagate, the same counterintelligence agents that were involved in making the bad false call in the Hunter Biden laptop, you’re going to see are the same counterintelligence agents that...assisted in the raid of Trump’s home….These agents knowingly break their oath of office and the law, get promotions, and we need to demand their names.”

Of course, we know the names “Auten” and “Thibault,” an outspoken anti-Trumper who was in the position at the FBI of decided who would be investigated and who wouldn’t. We know the upper echelon spearheading Crossfire Hurricane. Now we want the rest. Patel says they’ve broken their oath of office and that the FBI’s current abuse of power is being run “by the same select few of corrupt politicians who are acting as FBI agents.”

Devin Nunes, also on the show, noted that this sleazy political activity was going on before Russiagate. There was the IRS scandal, with Lois Lerner targeting conservatives. Also the gun-running under Fast and Furious, during Obama’s administration. Benghazi and that cover-up. And much more, in what he described as “stair-step” fashion. “Ultimately,” he said, “...this leads to something never done in American history before; you had a President’s home ransacked by the same goons that were involved in all of this.”

Even though the ‘Justice’ Department and FBI deserve criticism, he said, “someone [is] making those calls.” He says the people involved in past shady dealings are now at the DOJ “and at the White House.” The Big Three: Susan Rice, now Biden’s domestic policy adviser; Jake Sullivan, now Biden’s national security adviser; and attorney Lisa Monaco, now deputy attorney general at the DOJ. (Monaco is described by Mark Levin as “the number one Svengali in the Department of Justice,” and Levin can go down the line of several more.) They’ve all just moved up, promoted to the top.

These are the people crafting the narrative that the White House didn’t know about the raid. But as Nunes said, “If you don’t believe the deputy attorney general and the top people at the White House [knew] this, you’ve been living under a rock.”

Patel described how the current regime is hiding material that Trump had designated as “lawfully declassified.” He said, “Congress has a monumental lift ahead of them. Come November, they better start subpoenaing these documents immediately and putting these people before the American public. Merrick Garland and FBI Director Chris Wray have failed in their mission to uphold the law. They have become political hucksters, and they are completely destroying our Constitution and putting on a two-tier system of justice.”

https://video.foxnews.com/v/6310873817112#sp=show-clips

We reported last week that this raid has been called a “textbook” violation of the 4th Amendment. Sunday night, Mark Levin on LIFE, LIBERTY & LEVIN read aloud from the Bill Of Rights, making the point that much of it is currently under attack today –- or ignored, much as the old Soviet constitution was. At the moment, that especially includes the 4th Amendment, which says, “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” This search warrant --- never mind the shocking way it was carried out --- absolutely violated the 4th Amendment. No wonder the DOJ had to go to a lowly magistrate, a political hack, to sign the warrant. Who else wants to go down in history as having done that?

Levin also cited the 5th Amendment, the “due process” right, that is being violated now in the treatment of many arrested and held without bail on charges of “trespassing” and/or “parading” during the January 6 protest.

He pointed out that the violation of President Trump’s rights isn’t even all that much of a party issue. Trump “scares the hell out of the ruling class, the so-called establishment, in both parties.” “We the people” have to kick them out of Washington, he said. WE have to get the support.

I’ve long observed that the crazed behavior on the left stems from their inability to accept that Trump was the legitimate President. (So how could HE just declassify documents with the wave of his hand?). But it’s much more than that. Trump and his supporters are considered by those who hate him to be subhuman, and thus not worthy of constitutional rights. In their minds, it doesn’t matter what they do to President Trump –- or, by extension, to his supporters –- as long as it keeps him from running for office again and, preferably, results in a perp-walk. The Constitution is out the window. That’s the sickness we’re fighting. This is what they want to see…

https://slaynews.com/news/msnbc-host-we-want-to-see-them-perp-walk-donald-trump-like-an-episode-of-cops-and-we-may-not-see-that/

When the WASHINGTON POST reported that the FBI search was apparently seeking classified documents about nuclear secrets, all the left and even mainstream media sensationalized that. But what happened to that? We said when the story broke that it smelled suspiciously like a strategic leak of a bogus story to WAPO from the FBI to make their mission sound more acceptable. We should give NBC NEWS credit for reporting Friday that Trump has denied the story and that they’d been unable to independently verify it.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/trump-denies-report-fbi-sought-nuclear-documents-mar-lago-search-rcna42766

And when Adam Schiff was asked why, if Trump had nuclear secrets at Mar-A-Lago, the feds waited 18 months to retrieve them, he couldn’t answer that question and shifted away from it. He also tried to say that he hadn’t “seen evidence” that Trump had gone through the declassification process. That’s another bogus argument.

https://redstate.com/nick-arama/2022/08/14/even-adam-schiff-is-flummoxed-when-asked-why-they-waited-18-months-if-fbi-raid-was-so-necessary-n612277

Finally, just before Garland came out and gave his statement last week –- you know, the one in which he looked a prisoner in a hostage video –- President Trump allegedly contacted someone at the DOJ to send him a private message. Late Sunday evening, THE NEW YORK TIMES reported that Trump’s message read: “The country is on fire. What can I do to reduce the heat?”

Seems oddly out of character, don’t you think? Is it real? Mike Miller at REDSTATE ponders this story, and we will, too, until the next update.
