President Trump says he misspoke when he said in Helsinki that he didn’t see any reason why Russia would be behind US election meddling, and that he meant to say “wouldn’t” instead of “would.”  This is historic, since I don’t know if Trump has ever publicly admitted to getting something wrong before.  But I’m glad he is doing something to clean up the mess from that press conference rather than doubling-down to defend it.

YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE:  The Helsinki Summit

I’m sure his opponents will continue ranting and railing that it’s not good enough, but Trump has always been extremely fortunate in having the enemies that he does.  There is nothing he says or does that is too trifling or normal for the anti-Trump “Resistance” crowd not to react as if someone set off a string of firecrackers in their shorts.

During a time when he admittedly invited criticism with his comments, the news was almost immediately taken over by his hysterical critics screeching “TREASON! IMPEACHMENT!,” suggesting he’s a Russian spy (or that there was one in the Oval Office:  https://www.mediaite.com/online/wrong-reporter-deletes-tweet-claiming-russian-spy-was-in-oval-office-with-trump/ ), deliberately conflating the hacking of the DNC with unproved allegations of the Trump campaign colluding with Russia, wailing that the hacking of the DNC’s server was comparable to 9/11 or Pearl Harbor (note: we didn’t keep using the Pearl Harbor base or the World Trade Center for another month as if nothing had happened), or even calling on the US military to stage a coup (there’s a first, liberals pining for a military dictatorship).  Some conservative pundits are saying that they couldn't just let Trump stumble, they had to deflect attention from his own misstep by "burying it in crazy."

If the left wonders why this latest outrage barrage is likely to fizzle with Trump voters (even those who weren’t pleased with the press conference), then they need to turn off MSNBC for a few minutes and go read, “The Boy Who Cried Wolf.”  We’re closing in on nearly two years of daily hair-pulling hysteria over everything Trump says and does, and yet, somehow, to most people, the world seems better than it was on Election Day.  The economy is booming, ISIS has been crushed, international threats such as North Korea are abating, unemployment is at historically low levels...and yet to listen to them, every day is “THE END OF THE WORLD!!!”  It’s like having a neighbor who likes death metal and refuses to turn down his stereo.  After a while, no matter how annoying it is, you learn how to tune it out.

Incidentally, for all the blasts at Trump for having a big ego and thinking he knows it all, can anyone cite even one incident of Obama admitting he got something wrong?  I considered his Administration to be eight years of consecutive wrong decisions, from hamstringing the economy with onerous regulations that kept what should’ve been a two-year recession dragging on for eight; to weaponizing federal agencies and unconstitutionally legislating via executive orders; to underestimating ISIS, capitulating to Putin, dissing Israel, funding Iran’s mullahs while ignoring its reformers, backing the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and other tragically wrongheaded foreign policy moves that resulted in the deaths, torture and enslavement of countless people.  Even the Russian attempts to interfere in the election happened on his watch.  But has anyone heard a “Sorry, my bad” from him?  If the left wants us all to believe that Trump is the only unapologetic egotist ever to occupy the Oval Office, then they’re going to have to make sure that Obamacare covers lobotomies for everyone.

If this wasn't so serious it would be comical. When democrats are in power Republicans who call say russia is a threat to the US are ridiculed as "living in the eighties ". When the secretary of state presents the russians with a plastic red and yellow button she believes reads reset (it really read overcharge) she's held up as the smartest woman in the world (the moniker of smartest person in the world was already taken at the time). When the smartest person in the world refuses to fulfill promises to poland for defense from russia and ignores pleas from ukraine for aid and crimea is annexed, why he is acting simply brilliant, brilliant! When the smartest person in the world whispers to Medvedev "tell Vladimir......", the lamebrain media once again goes with DNC spin. Now that Trump is President, russia instantaneously becomes the enemy, and the media runs into joe McCarthy's corner stealing his playbook. Trump was going to be ridiculed no matter what he said or did in Helsinki. The bias of media is breathtaking to behold and i for one welcome it because i believe they are finally exposing themselves for who they really are. So too the Democrats. I just pray that God opens the eyes of the electorate in time for the midterms. I think that may be exactly what is happening.

WHY CAN THE LIBERALS NOT SEE THE FACT THAT OBAMA WAS A TRUE ENEMY OF AMERICA ? ARE THEY JUST SCARED THAT ALL OF THEIR CORRUPTION IS ABOUT TO BE BROUGHT TO THE LIGHT ? I DOUBT THAT WILL ACTUALLY HAPPEN. I PRAY IT DOES. THEY HAVE FLEECED AMERICA FOR SO MANY YEARS THEY HAD INTENDED TO CONTINUE WITH HILLARY. BUT THAT JUST DID NOT HAPPEN. Just wondering if you watched the REAL treasonous speech given by ex-President Obama in Johannesburg yesterday? Obama spoke to hundreds of thousands of South African people while alluding to President Trump as a strong arm liar and a country suddenly out of control since his leaving office. To hear him tell it... the sky is falling! I want to know... WHEN will our justice system get involved tell this treasonous ex-President to shut up? Obama needs a cease and desist letter NOW! The deep state lives. Obama is HURTING our country with his slanderous words. Obama is still at it. He's still trying to stoke the cold embers of his failed Presidency with the heated spittle of his red hot lies. This needs to stop NOW!

Oh for heaven's sake ... the only folks who are upset about this are those who have swallowed the whole "Trump-Putin collusion" narrative hook, line and sinker. And no apology or 'clarification' by the President -- who almost certainly just swallowed that final consonant on "wouldn't" -- is going to change those folks' entrenched beliefs about it. Just another bogus, Mountain-out-of-a-Molehill "crisis."

I wish somebody would set off a string of firecrackers in their shorts, and we would get to see it as many times as we have to turn the channel during the national news . I haven't had much to laugh at since before Trump became president.
I try not to even think about the eight years before Trump, and I can't even stand to look at his wicked face, as he's plastered on the internet much too often.
Who wouldn't be thankful for President Trump?

Whether he mis-spoke or not doesn't bother me in the least. I am a GREAT grandmother. In my lifetime, I have never seen a president treated so disgustingly wrong. And I would never believe anything that was told to me by the ones who have connived, lied, and continually put me through hell to try and get me impeached or force me to quit. That tells me right there that there's something good about Pres. Trump. Otherwise the devil wouldn't try so hard to destroy him. What they're doing is trying to keep HONEST people in the dem. party occupied with all the garbage they're spreading about Pres.Trump so they won't do a little research and find things out on their own. They don't want people who don't already know, to find out what they've done and continuing to do right now.

Trump got it RIGHT, the first time! How can anyone have any confidence in the "Intelligence Community" (IC)? They have shown themselves to be CORRUPT from TOP TO BOTTOM. They are the primary residence of the DEEP STATE, politically weaponized by Obama and doing everything possible to overthrow a legitimately elected President. They have become the true FASCISTS, attempting to impose their will on America.

It has been said, WRONGLY, it is only "a few bad apples at the top". If so, where are the high integrity, honest lower level IC members showing any resistance. They are SILENT!

The IC displays similarities to Germany in the NAZI era. Not many Germans were card carrying NAZIS. However there were many Germans that were NAZI supporters, there were even MORE NAZI sympathizers. It is impossible to believe that Germans were oblivious to Jews going missing, overnight. In fact, these Germans occupied the Jews former homes and apartments, took possession of their furnishings and art - and asked NO QUESTIONS. If you've visited the Death Camps, you know it was IMPOSSIBLE for Germans in the surrounding areas to "have no idea" what was happening. That is exactly the same phenomenon we see in the IC!

Trump understands and, correctly, has no confidence int the IC, which has proven to be his ENEMY!

    Howdy, Gov.,
I think this "Special Council" fiasco has gotten out of hand. Robert Mueller has declared that he has a job for life. There is no end to what or who he can prosecute, all in the name of what Roseinstein directed him to do (impeach Trump).
I think Pres. Trump should fire him and declare an end to "The Investigation". Enough is enough. The whole thing is based on a "National Enquirer" type lie.
    What do you think?

    Governor,
So Trump is a traitor because he agrees with Russia and says our intelligence agencies may have gotten it wrong? One of the first things his predecessor did was go to the Middle East and apologize to the Muslim world for America. The hypocrisy of the deranged left is astounding.

  • Nancy Cornish

    07/18/2018 11:22 AM

I can certainly see why he would want to see the evidence and have the Russians indicted have their day in court before deciding "who did it". For one thing there is a veterans intelligence group that has written an article that points out some important points. https://consortiumnews.com/2017/07/24/intel-vets-challenge-russia-hack-evidence/ Also the IG report says the FBI did some awful things to try to not allow Trump to be elected and to try to undo his presidency. I don't blame him for wondering who really did hack into the DNC and any election related servers.

Maybe the reason President Trump don't loose his cool with foolish people ,is because he believes God's word and reminds himself of Psalms 37:12 The wicked plots against the righteous and gnashes his teeth at him, but the Lord laughs at the wicked for he sees that his day is coming. Maybe our President Trump is trusting the Lord to take care of them in the Lord's own time. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

During his diatribe in Jo'burg, Obama meant, but was unsuccessful, to bash Trump for his meeting with Putin. However, what Obama wound up doing was reading a rather wordy and lengthy confession of his goals and description of his actions in his efforts to "transform America" during his eight-year reign as President.

Straight out of Alinsky. Blame the other side for doing exactly what you are doing.

President Donald J. Trump misspoke what a surprise. Let me see could I count the times Obama misspoke? Probably not. But it is a well known fact that anything The people's President says will not please any Trump deranged person of left leaning. He has since explained but I don't think they will be pleased with that either. Now Brennan the great leaker yells "treason". He should look in a mirror when he says that word. Trump is trying with sternness to open up doors and still keep restrictions with countries. How about the fact that Hillary's staff destroyed evidence of Russian interference in the DNC and the FBI or CIA or whoever allowed her to do this. I want to hear the info she was responsible for destroying. Until then Brennan can SHUT UP or PUT UP!

Would or Wouldn't..It doesn't matter what President Trump said or should of said because the MSM, Democrats and even never Trumpers will always find something wrong with what he says or does. The hysteria from everyone is pretty pathetic. We all know who Putin is, but why should President Trump get up on the world stage and bash Putin when he is trying to rebuild a relationship so we can have open dialogue. CIA Gina Haspell says Trump was right, look who was intel during the Obama admin. Clapper, Brennon and the list goes on. There was and is a reason why I walked away from the democratic party during Obamas 2nd term. I couldn't take the lies, the deceit, the hate and everything else the democrat party represents. Yes, it is sad to say I like most Trump supporters trust Putin more then we trust the dems. The democrat party is more dangerous to this country then Putin is. It is sad when one actually wakes up and faces that truth. If you haven't seen this you need to and you need to get Brandon Straka on your show https://youtu.be/51UGcghHZsk

The only thing that keeps coming to mind was when Obama met with Putin and Obama thought his mic was off. He told Putin to wait until he had been re elected to office. Wait for what? To take over Crimea? Did Obama know and not stop Putin from taking over Crimea? If so who is the true collude r here? Obama hands down..... the mass media needs to look in the mirror and get it through their thick skulls Americans are not stupid and we remember......

Mike, there are a lot of reasons for Trump not to trust the intelligence community as well as the Justice Department, going all the way back to the Kennedy assassination. A House committee concluded that part of our intelligence community was involved in the Kennedy killing and referred their evidence to the DOJ for prosecution. Nothing has ever happened! The killing of Kennedy was a successful coup and whoever was behind it, won. Fast forward to today with the FBI spying on Trump during his campaign and afterwards and it is easy to see why Jimmy Carter lamented that he had lost control of the government, Trump has never had control of the government! The choice of Jeff Sessions as Attorney General was almost as bad as Loretta Lynch. When you see Strzok smirking at Congressmen and looking confident he'll never face justice for orchestrating a false FISA request that was followed by the Mueller investigation, you know that in all likelihood the globalists will triumph and the bankers who control the Federal Reserve will indeed control the world by disarming everyone and using facial recognition combined with replacing currency with human chipping. Someday, if you speak up as you do here, you'll find you don't have money in the bank, or if you do, it will be frozen and you can't buy food or shelter until you are re-educated to not criticize the globalists who control the planet. One of Kennedy's last pronouncements was that he wanted to smash the CIA into a thousand pieces. Does that sound like Kennedy trusted the Intelligence Community? Why should Trump?

My 46 year old Autistic self asks you, Mike, shouldn't we all pronounce Vladimir's last name Pew-tin? What would you say to my observation that Liberalism and Satanism go hand in hand, that they are one and the same? Left Wing, left hand of Satan, see how it all fits?
