DRIVE-IN CHURCHGOERS TICKETED

There’s a meme going around that reads, “How are you enjoying your 30-day free trial of socialism?” But I never thought that would be true in a place like Greenville, Mississippi.

Mississippi’s Governor encouraged churches not to hold services in person to combat the coronavirus, but he refused to ban them from doing so, saying, “Mississippi is not China, and never will be.” But someone needs to get that message to Greenville’s Democrat Mayor Errick Simmons, who not only ordered churches closed, he even banned drive-in services.

Last Sunday, members of Temple Baptist Church gathered in about 25 cars in the church parking lot to listen to pastor Arthur Scott preaching over the radio. Police came and handed $500 tickets to each driver, even though they were all inside separate closed cars. The only time they violated “social distancing” was when they had to roll down their windows to take the tickets from the cops.

Scott said police told him he might go to jail, and he said if that’s what it takes to keep preaching, he’ll gladly go to jail, and he will see them at the church next Sunday.

The religious freedom law firm First Liberty sent a letter to Simmons demanding that the ban be lifted, and stating that “religious liberty is not suspended during a pandemic” and Americans should not “tolerate churchgoers being ticketed by the police for following CDC guidelines at church.”

Once again, it’s very instructive to see how quickly tolerant, compassionate liberals turn into ironfisted authoritarians when given just a little power. It’s yet another reason why you should never believe the claim that socialism would work great, it’s just that the “right people” have never been in charge of it. If you even want to be in charge of a socialist government, then you’re the wrong people to be in charge of the government.

GOOD FRIDAY

Happy Good Friday to you and your family! I know it may be an unusual Easter weekend, one where you can’t go to church or gather in the park or at other events. But celebrating at home with family will give us all a chance to reflect on and count our greatest blessings. And it’s important to remember that Easter weekend is a celebration of God’s assurance that the current trials and suffering will pass and that the day of Resurrection is at hand.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Here’s full video of Thursday’s daily White House briefing on the coronavirus with no cutaways to victims of other diseases, such as Trump Derangement Syndrome…

The number of confirmed cases in the US has topped 466,000, with 16,686 deaths at this writing. That’s a terrible tragedy, but there are reasons to be hopeful. Social distancing (i.e., simply asking Americans to be responsible) is working to flatten the curve of new cases. The initial predictions of mass deaths have been revised sharply downward, and so far, the field hospital and Navy hospital ship in New York City are using only a fraction of their beds. Meanwhile, a 250-bed field hospital in Seattle that was built to handle an expected crush of cases has been dismantled without treating a single patient.

At the briefing, Trump congratulated the Army Corps of Engineers for building field hospitals that include 17,000 beds in a remarkably short time. He talked about the airlift program that’s delivering medical supplies to where they’re most needed, and about discussions on aid to support the airline industry. He said the US has now surpassed 2 million coronavirus tests, and he sees encouraging signs in the swift development of treatments, with 19 therapies already being tested and 26 more in the planning stages. He also said student loan payments have been waived for six months, and that might be extended, and he talked about the need for Democrats and Republicans to come together to provide more help to workers and businesses.

On that subject, Senate Democrats last night showed where their priorities lay by blocking a bill to provide $250 billion in more funding for emergency small business loans. Party leaders claim they wouldn’t support that unless more funding was also given for the unemployed. But as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell pointed out, the money for the unemployed in the first bill hasn’t even been distributed yet (the IRS says it should start appearing as early as this week in the accounts of 50 million taxpayers who have shared their banking information with the IRS.) But the money allocated to small businesses is already nearly depleted because of the crush of applications.

A number of Senate Republicans also blasted the Democrats for blocking the bill, pointing out that the small business loan funding was for part of a bipartisan bill that needs more than originally anticipated right now, and that voting for it would not prevent further funding of aid to the unemployed, if it’s needed. This marks the second time in a month that Democratic Congressional leaders have held up emergency aid to try to force something else that they wanted into the bill. I hope that when you vote in November, you remember this demonstration of their priorities.

Personally, I’m not surprised that many current Congressional “progressive” Democrats are so cavalier about the problems of small business owners, since so few of them have ever owned or run a business.

I understand those problems only too well. While I’m enjoying “sheltering at home” with all my grandkids, it’s no picnic financially. All my personal appearances, which provide much of my income, have been canceled for three months, and I’m digging into my savings and retirement funds to cover the expenses, payrolls and benefits for the small businesses that I own. I don’t expect Democrats to feel sorry for me, but it would be nice if they at least comprehended what it’s like to own a small business that suddenly had its cash flow shut off.

Unfortunately, most of them come out of politics, law or academia and have never had to make a living in the real world. Some of their deep thinkers such as Rep. Ilhan Omar are suggesting that the President just declare that nobody has to pay rent. Leftwing activist Sally Kohn attacked business owners by claiming that nobody is “forcing” them to lay off workers, that it’s a “choice” they make, and they shouldn’t be cast as victims.

Kurt Schichter responded to this in his own special way in his latest article, “Economic Illiterates Are Running Amok”…

“When there is no income, what do you expect a business owner to pay his employees with? IOUs? Monopoly money? Feelings?...Oh, maybe the boss of that local pizza restaurant that the cough police closed down should just go downstairs to the basement vault in his mansion, pop open the door and take out one of those dozens of big sacks with dollar signs on them that are stuffed with $100 bills and use them to meet payroll. And rent. And insurance. And supplies. And maintenance. And so on. And so on. And so on.

Because that whole thing about cash flow? No, it’s not a thing. It’s a myth! It’s just an illusion those tuxedo n’ top hat-sporting fatcats who run the local pet stores and such use to fool the proles into believing that there’s not some bottomless well o’ cash these tycoons can draw upon forever.”

When they block urgently-needed funding to help small businesses stay afloat, claiming they want to help workers instead, they are betraying their utter ignorance of how our economic system works. If you want to help the workers, then make sure they still have a place to work when this is over!

On a side note, I’ve noticed that so-called “progressives” love calling anyone who disagrees with them a racist. Yet they badmouth capitalism while obviously having no clue what capitalism is or how a capitalist economic system works. Isn’t having an irrational fear of something you know nothing about the very definition of “prejudice”?

And speaking of those “cold-hearted” small business owners

BIDEN IS NOT CAPABLE

Apparently, there is one subject that is so glaringly true that even Tucker Carlson and the former national press secretary for Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign agree on it: Joe Biden is not capable of being President of the United States.

Briahna Joy Gray tweeted that Bernie was “too kind” to go after Biden, “but it’s coming,” and either the Democratic establishment would rather see Trump reelected than back a candidate like Bernie or else they’re planning to throw representative Democracy out the window and replace him at the Convention.

I’m not sure which of those scenarios will play out, but it’s telling that, as some wags noted online, Biden is now the only Democrat remaining in the race and Barack Obama still hasn’t endorsed him. In this spirit of bipartisanship, I’ll actually agree with Ms Gray that the brass knuckle political assaults on Biden are coming. In fact, they’re already here.

(Incidentally, it wasn’t easy to find that ad. A Google search for “Trump commercial against Biden” returned nothing but Biden ads against Trump. How odd!)

But the media can’t bury this story for long. Even if they don’t talk about Biden’s personal issues or his history of questionable dealings, there are now new questionable dealings that would destroy the campaign of any Republican. Like pretending to be President and using political cronies to interfere in the distribution of much-needed medical supplies.

There’s way too much to bury here. Besides, it’s already so obvious that even Sean Lennon is pointing it out.

AGAINST CHINA

While some people here in America are trying to politicize the coronavirus by pointing fingers of blame at their opponents, it’s nice to see that most Americans are smart enough to realize where the blame really lies.

It is simply amazing just how many really stupid things Democrat politicians are doing, case in point the Mayor of Greenville. And many others here & there, all from not thinking a moment before somebody (usually policemen) makes an official jackass of themselves.

In regards to Nancy numbnuts Pelosi: since the President has declared a national emergency, which should mean he can call a meeting of the congress. If the emergency powers don't allow that. Article II section 3. of the US Constitution should be used. In theory the Speaker of the house could be arrested & compelled to have the House convene.
I apologize for using language unbecoming a human being.

Kurt Schlichters column is fanastic. I might add Victor David Hanson has an excellent article on Townhall --"Is America a Roaring Giant or a Crying Baby"
America is truly at a defining moment in our history. President Trumps will be remembered not kindly whatever the outcome of the Beer virus fiasco. America will be the winner if he can salvage the economy because no matter the fact that the virus has been brutal it pales in comparison to other major medical upheavals in our recent past. I just finished reading a factoid published by Copanobaypress.com about the Yellow Fever epidemic of 1897. We have not yet resorted to meeting visitors with armed Citizens to protect our families as was reported by several cities at the time.
It's interesting to note that the mayor of Greenville in his infinite wisdom is a holdover of a historically Democratic State and is only 92 miles from my adopted hometown. He does not speak for many and my community is 80% black but are smarter than the moron elected by the good, misguided people of Greenville. Some times the rush to usher in New leadership to represent the majority that were not represented before needs to look for Leadership not rhetoric as a guiding principle for a Leader.
I will celebrate Easter with my Yellow Lab and Cocker Spaniel vying for my attention while I reflect on How Lucky I am to be a CITIZEN of America. Our Founders were indeed brilliant to put on paper the Natural Rights Our Originator Granted us.

Once again, you rush to defend pastors’ rights. Or as President Reagan once said, “there you go again”. I agree pastors have the “right” to have a church service, BUT, during the current crisis, that’s not the point! Even though this specific pastor had a creative approach, just holding that church service sets a bad example. Every time there is a group of people gathering, there is a risk of someone getting infected with the virus, and then transmitting that infection to others. If those others are old with pre-conditions, they have a good chance of dying. What part of this do you not understand? Why do you continue to defend these outlier pastors when they could be indirectly killing others? A little harsh I acknowledge, but it’s the world we live in today. It’s not about a pastor’s “rights”. It’s about the right thing to do. There would be no need for lawyers, if ALL pastors really care about the health of others. There would be no need for lawyers, if ALL pastors would use their God given brains and think about the consequences of holding a church service full of people. Why can’t they be flexible for 30 days? Where is their compassion for others? Stop defending them and help educate them. Clearly, they need it.

I have to agree with that Mayor! Ya, sorry but sometimes you have to take the child by the hand and force them to do something that they don’t want to be doing! Packing people in a car— nice— what could possibly happen! Sorry— this is — we are in extraordinary times right now and feelings about Religion have to take a back seat to ensure the safety of everyone else around everyone else. You don’t have to go to a house of worship to be with our Lord and Savior, and I’m pretty sure He will/ does understand why you stayed at home. Don’t care if you don’t want to hear my opinion on this one but common sense has to be used these days.

The swamp is alive and well and alleged Repubs like Romney are gutless Rinos. There is no end to the crap "we the people" have to suffer and no matter who we elect the crap continues. The simple truth on taxes: Business does not pay taxes!
All taxes are pass through money.
The business' markup includes monies for the building (along with its operation and maintenance), employee costs (wages, benefits, supplies and tools / machines, and supervision), and taxes (property, payroll, and income).
We (the customer) pay for all of that - on top of the cost (to the business) for the product and the cost of the reward (profit) for providing a convenience to the public with a centralized access to products that we need.
And, if the business charges too much, somebody else will do it cheaper.
We get a 'deal' but the taxes are hidden!

This all seems to be a takeover of Democratic governors. It is time President Trump put a stop to governors in Democratic states ruling against people and their Christianity. I am distressed re the police ticketing the drive-in parishioners. The rules were being followed. The Pastor did nothing wrong. It is a violation of his civil liberties to put him in jail. Religious freedom is a God-given right and is what our country was founded on. President Trump and team are doing a great job. I want to see equal time being given to a team focussed on getting the economy back.

Mike, the story this newsletter began with, entitled, "DRIVE-IN CHURCH GOERS TICKETED", evoked my righteous rage not because these "church goers" were ticketed, but because these "church goers" felt the need to go TO a "drive-in" church!

While being given a $500 ticket might seem a bit severe, yet, I see God's hand in this because He does work in mysterious ways! I am going to copy, and paste, your statements, below, and then respond TO them using CAPITAL LETTERS:

"There’s a meme going around that reads, “How are you enjoying your 30-day free trial of socialism?” But I never thought that would be true in a place like Greenville, Mississippi."......FROM AN EARTHLY PERSPECTIVE THIS LOOKS LIKE SOCIALISM, BUT IT'S NOT! GOD IS USING A LESSER EVIL TO EXPOSE A GREATER EVIL!

"Mississippi’s Governor encouraged churches not to hold services in person to combat the coronavirus, but he refused to ban them from doing so, saying, 'Mississippi is not China, and never will be.' But someone needs to get that message to Greenville’s Democrat Mayor Errick Simmons, who not only ordered churches closed, he even banned drive-in services."

MISSISSIPPI 'S GOVERNOR SHOULD HAVE BANNED CHURCHES FROM HOLDING SERVICES AND MAYOR ERRICK SIMMONS WAS RIGHT TO ORDER CHURCHES CLOSED AND TO BAN DRIVE-IN SERVICES.

"Last Sunday, members of Temple Baptist Church gathered in about 25 cars in the church parking lot to listen to pastor Arthur Scott preaching over the radio. Police came and handed $500 tickets to each driver, even though they were all inside separate closed cars. The only time they violated “social distancing” was when they had to roll down their windows to take the tickets from the cops.
Scott said police told him he might go to jail, and he said if that’s what it takes to keep preaching, he’ll gladly go to jail, and he will see them at the church next Sunday."

" PASTOR SCOTT'S ATTITUDE BEARS WITNESS TO THE ME-CENTERED EGOS OF PASTORS THROUGHOUT THIS US OF A WHO CAN PREACH ALL ABOUT JESUS BUT DON'T KNOW HIM BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT PICKED UP THEIR CROSS AND CRUCIFIED THEIR SELF LIFE! "....MY BIBLE SAYS THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL LEAD ME INTO ALL TRUTH, SO WHY DID THESE CHURCH GOERS FEEL THE NEED TO LISTEN TO THEIR PASTOR TELL THEM ABOUT THIS TRUTH?

"The religious freedom law firm First Liberty sent a letter to Simmons demanding that the ban be lifted, and stating that “religious liberty is not suspended during a pandemic” and Americans should not “tolerate churchgoers being ticketed by the police for following CDC guidelines at church.”

SEE THAT STATEMENT "RELIGIOUS LIBERTY IS NOT SUSPENDED DURING A PANDEMIC" .....RIGHT THERE...IN A NUTSHELL...DO YOU HAVE WHY THIS PANDEMIC IS ALSO GOD'S JUDGMENT AGAINST THE CHURCHES BECAUSE, AS A WHOLE, THEY ARE NO LESS SELF-CENTERED THAN NON-CHRISTIANS...WHICH IS WHY, IN ONE OF HIS SERMONS, LAST MONTH, MARK HARRIS STATED THAT THE CHURCHES ARE SENDING PEOPLE TO HELL....BECAUSE TO BE CHRIST-CENTERED IS TO BE OTHER -CENTERED!!!! PASTOR SCOTT SHOULD CARE MORE ABOUT PEOPLE STAYING HOME TO HELP STOP A VIRUS THAT IS KILLING PEOPLE THAN THAT THEY GET TO HEAR HIM PREACH!..AND THE RELIGIOUS FREEDOM LAW FIRM FIRST LIBERTY IS ENABLING PASTOR SCOTT'S SELF -CENTEREDNESS WHICH IS NOT LOVE BECAUSE CHRIST'S LOVE IS THE DESIRE FOR THE LOVED ONE'S ULTIMATE BEST AS THAT ULTIMATE BEST IS SEEN FROM GOD'S ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE!

Like pretending to be President and using political cronies to interfere in the distribution of much-needed medical supplies.

There’s way too much to bury here. Besides, it’s already so obvious that even Sean Lennon is pointing it out.

I am distressed re the police ticketing the drive-in parishioners. The rules were being followed. The Pastor did nothing wrong. It is a violation of his civil liberties to put him in jail. Religious freedom is a God-given right and is what our country was founded on. President Trump and team are doing a great job.

The swamp is alive and well and alleged Repubs like Romney are gutless Rinos. There is no end to the crap "we the people" have to suffer and no matter who we elect the crap continues. Consider me discouraged. Good news badly needed and it could start by jailing all of the Obama administration participants including the top traitor.

I've heard the comment that whoever is Joe Biden's running mate will become the President if Biden wins. How? Joe will simply resign and the VP will take over.

This is such a flagrant violation of our Republics Constitutional Rights . IF YOU THINK THIS IS RIGHT, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO CALL YOURSELF AN AMERICAN. TODAY IT IS THISCHURCH BEING PERSECUTED. TOMORROW IT IS YOU, FOR WHATEVER REASON THESE FASCISTS DEEM NECESSARY.

Isn't it funny how these socialist democrats show their dictatorship as soon as they can. Drive in churches are fine, not spreading the virus, but dictators don't see it that way. Beware communist and fascist are watching and waiting on the sheep that were fooled by the socialist democrats.

DNC wants Biden in the Oval office just long enough to have an accident or commit suicide so the VP the DNC selects can take the presudency.

This all seems to be a takeover of Democratic governors. It is time President Trump put a stop to governors in Democratic states ruling against people and their Christianity. This was all a very well timed exercise by the Democrats to destroy Christianity, families, and people's jobs. All because oftheir hate against our President.

II Chronicles 7:14 is still a good one to use in this day and hour. Will Christians really repent, turn from their wicked ways and seek Him? We can pray that will happen.

Yesterday I reported fake news. It was PM Netanyahu's aide that was dx with Covid19, not PM Netanyahu. My apologies.
