BERNIE-BIDEN UPDATE

Alaska held its primary elections Saturday, and Joe Biden beat Bernie Sanders 55.3% to 44.7%. That means Biden gets 11 delegates and Sanders gets four.

You’re probably wondering why Bernie is getting delegates if he’s no longer running. That’s an intriguing question. He suspended his campaign, but he hasn’t officially dropped out, nor has he released his delegates. He can keep on drawing votes and delegates away from Biden as long as Democrats who don’t want Joe (and that’s a lot of Democrats) keep voting for Bernie as their only alternative.

Currently, Biden has 1,228 delegates and Sanders has 918. Between Bernie siphoning off votes and hoarding his delegates, and the coronavirus cancelling elections, the convention could arrive without Biden ever reaching the 1,991-delegate threshold to clench the nomination. If so, all bets are off. The convention could be thrown open and, with his huge bloc of delegates, Bernie could wield a lot of clout in picking the nominee. It might not be him, but anyone acceptable to Bernie Sanders would likely be at least 60 miles left of the average American voter. This race could, at long last, get interesting.

BIDEN ACCUSER GETS NYT "TREATMENT"

Saturday, the New York Times set off a bipartisan uproar by running a long article on former Biden staffer Tara Reade and her claim of sexual assault, and promoting it with this tweet seemingly meant to exonerate Joe Biden: “The Times found no pattern of sexual misconduct by Mr. Biden beyond the hugs, kisses and touching that women previously said made them uncomfortable.” They soon deleted that clueless tweet and replaced it one simply reading, “The Times found no pattern of sexual misconduct by Mr. Biden.”

If that’s the standard, then I’d note that Brett Kavanaugh had such a squeaky clean reputation that Democrats tried to use that against him before they settled on throwing mud on him and ruining his reputation instead. But as that story at the link notes, even Hollywood actress/activist Rose McGowen is blasting the hypocrisy of saying, “Believe the woman” when Trump or Kavanaugh is accused but not when Biden is accused.

Congratulations, at least, to the New York Times for helping overcome division in America by being so blatantly biased and hypocritical that they managed to unite Donald Trump and Rose McGowen in disgust with them.

NO FILTER

President Trump may not be able to hold rallies, but at least in terms of being able to speak at length to the American people with no media “filter” to twist his words, he’s replaced his long rallies with his daily press conferences. The National Journal analyzed his briefings from March 13 to April 7 and found that no President in history has ever said so much to the public in so short a time.

Over 26 days, Trump was on TV speaking or answering questions for a staggering 37 hours and 37 minutes. He personally spoke at least a quarter of a million words and set a new presidential record by answering 1,178 questions from the media in less than a month (No fooling: 95 on April 1 alone!) A few of them were even legitimate questions. The media used to complain that he wasn’t answering enough questions, and now they’re whining that he answers too many.

The overall tone of this article is less than respectful, but I’ll cut them some slack. I’m sure the media are frustrated that Trump has found a way to tell the public exactly what’s on his mind rather than letting the media tell the public their version of what’s on his mind. No wonder people like Rachel Maddow are demanding that his briefings be taken off the air. When viewers get to hear what both the reporters and the President say rather than just what the reporters say the President said, for some reason, his approval rating goes up and the media's goes down.

UPDATE!

We reported recently that the government workers’ union SEIU had located 39 million N95 masks for health care workers to use. It looks as if that might be an elaborate scam.

NEWS YOU CAN REALLY USE

Many people are asking about those coronavirus rescue/stimulus payments, and who will receive how much and when. This is the most thorough article we’ve seen so far in terms of answering all the questions for every conceivable situation:

How to set up an on-line Toilet Paper Alert, so you can be notified immediately when a local store gets toilet paper back in stock. FYI: you can also do it for other hard-to-find items. I just love calling it a “Toilet Paper Alert.”

BERNIE SUPPORTERS UPDATE

Who could have predicted this? (Well, I did...and a lot of other people, too.) Bernie Sanders supporters are not falling dutifully into line to support Joe Biden. Apparently, they believed they were signing up for a socialist revolution, not a cynical deal to cement power in the hands of the Democratic Party establishment. That’s so cute!

TAIWAN WARNED WHO

No wonder the World Health Organization is so hostile to Taiwan. The WHO would obviously like us all to ignore the fact that Taiwan reports that they emailed the WHO back in December to warn about a new disease that had emerged in China and ask for more information, and the organization ignored it. Had they acted faster (or at all) on Taiwan’s heads-up, there might not have been a COVID-19 (Chinese) coronavirus pandemic.

Now, the WHO is facing multinational, bipartisan demands that it accept Taiwan as a member (providing they would want to be a member at this point). That, of course, would enrage China. The correct response to China’s rage would be “Who cares?” although I would also accept “Hard cheese” and “Tough toenails.”

OBAMA TO ENDORSE BIDEN

Now that there is literally nobody else standing, Joe Biden will reportedly receive, at long last, the endorsement of his former boss, Barack Obama. I'm sure it will be enthusiastic.

Click the link to see how the RNC reacted with a perfectly-chosen clip of Brad Pitt from the movie, “Troy.” For those who don’t know what Troy is, it’s the name of some guy somewhere who would make a better President than Joe Biden.

TRIP DOWN BAD MEMORY LANE

Trip Down Bad Memory Lane: To show why Trump’s video exposing the media was so well-deserved, here’s a retrospective of some of the most biased, irresponsible and unprofessional questions Trump has received during his coronavirus press conferences. Don’t worry, these are only the lowlights. This article isn’t nearly as long as it could have been.

Then again, every so often, a really important question does accidentally sneak through on CNN.

MUCH BIGGER ISSUES

There are much bigger issues to deal with than the wounded pride of a gaggle of juvenile Democratic operatives with by-lines (to use Instapundit’s popular description of today’s “journalists.”) Chief of among them is how and when to reopen the economy so that we avoid both a spike in infections and a prolonged depression.

President Trump has said that choosing when to reopen the economy is the biggest decision he’s ever faced. He noted that if it were up to the doctors, they’d shut down the whole world indefinitely, but we can’t let the treatment become more destructive than the problem.

Another fake controversy was set off by the media when Trump said he has “total” authority over when to reopen the economy. Reporters who only recently emerged from their worship of Obama and rediscovered limits on Presidential power went ballistic over that, but it seemed obvious to me that he wasn’t saying he has “total authority” over the US economy, but over the decision he has to make – in other words, he is listening to the doctors, but the decision is up to him, not them or anyone other advisers. That would be the rational interpretation, which, again, is why most of the news outlets seemed to miss it.

As if to prove that Trump knows he doesn’t have total authority over the entire economy, the governors of several states announced their plans to start reopening for business, and I notice that Trump didn't have them arrested for insurrection.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said he thinks most states can reopen sooner than May 1.

With the projected infection rates and death tolls dropping sharply, it appears that the American people, through responsible actions like self-isolating, social distancing, wearing masks and gloves, and washing and disinfecting their hands frequently have made a big impact on the spread of the virus. With regular reminders to stay vigilant, there’s no reason why most businesses can’t start reopening.

For instance, if it’s safe for people who wear masks and stand six feet apart to go to Walmart or CVS for food and drugs (stores that have remained open), then why wouldn’t it be just as safe to go to any other business under the same safety and hygiene standards? Then again, you’d have to explain that logic to at least one Governor, who seems to think it’s safe to go to Walmart to buy bread, but if you also pick up a package of tomato seeds or a pair of shorts, WE’RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!!

This is a problem that can only be remedied by putting on your masks and gloves and standing six feet apart in long lines to vote out any authoritarians who would use a health crisis to abuse power and shred the Constitution.

Dear Governor, I love it! Donald Trump did it again! What am I talking about? If President Trump would have left it up to the governors when to reopen, we would all be in lock down forever. But just as when you tell a child he or she cannot do something, and immediately they defy you and do it, looks like some governors, with more to follow suit, are saying, "He doesn't have the authority to tell us what to do. We're going to reopen now." Reverse psychology. ;) Also, with governors defying the reopening date, who's going to get the credit or blame? Don't get me wrong. We should never have closed everything down in the first place. Protect the vulnerable against this virus, and let the rest go back to work. Did we shut down the whole country when H1N1 (remember, that was the Chinese bird flu) sickened and killed many? It was a very serious virus, we took care of ourselves, got better, and people kept working. I pray daily that common sense will return to this country, and that panic will not rule over us. Let's get America back to work YESTERDAY!

One interesting thing I noticed on my drive to the grocery store yesterday, was that the local car wash place was open and doing business. Not sure how essential that business is. I guess the 'rules' vary a lot from state to state. In one southern state people sitting in their cars not close to each other, were fined $500 each by the police for gathering in an otherwise empty parking lot to hear a pastor preach. https://pjmedia.com/lifestyle/watch-police-slap-christians-with-500-fines-for-attending-drive-in-worship-service/ And yet here, a car wash place can be open for business. Hardly consistent and to me, makes no sense!
When I got home I called Mr. sprinkler to come out and turn my irrigation system on and do the back flow test. He informed me that according to the new WA state rules, he can do the back flow test, which actually is, and has been for many years, required by law to be done once a year, but, he is not allowed to do any repairs on the irrigation system if any show up when the water is turned back on. And yet the car wash business is allowed to wash cars. So apparently clean cars are more important than keeping our trees, shrubs, flowers, gardens etc. from drying out and dying. It truly is a mad mad world!

Your opening words in your statement, "if it’s safe for people who wear masks and stand six feet apart to go to Walmart or CVS for food and drugs (stores that have remained open)", were music to my ears because my heart literally sank when my pharmacist...at Walgreens...told me that I should not go to Walgreens to pick up my meds because this pandemic is going to get a lot worse!.... and they are predicting that, before it ends, 8, or 9, million people were going to die!

Since a few weeks ago, a guy in the trailer park where I live told me to call him if I needed anything from the store, I called and asked him if he would be willing to go to Walgreens to pick up my meds an he agreed to do so....AND I WAS VERY GRATEFUL THAT I was able TO get my meds, HOWEVER....

I kept thinking about what the pharmacist had said to me and thought about how WHAT he had said to me might mean that I would not be able to do my own shopping for months, and the thought OF that was very frustrating to me because, as a result of living alone, I am a very independent person and can't imagine anyone doing my shopping FOR me.....SO...NOW....THANKS TO what YOU said...in contrast TO what my pharmacist said....I can retire tonight with the hopeful thought that maybe I CAN feel safe going shopping by May!

I would not be surprised to find that toilet paper and other necessities are locked in warehouses somewhere. The stores don't seem to be getting full loads of the items that fill the shelves. I do remember the wire shortage for hay and it turned out the shortage was because the wire was neatly stacked in a warehouse side to side, front to back and bottom to top. It appeared that also happened with the sugar shortage. So I am skeptical about the necessities being hoarded by the citizens and wonder if they are instead being hoarded by the ones that want an increase in price.

That would be the rational interpretation, which, again, is why most of the news outlets seemed to miss it.

The Democratic Party intends to take the White House one way or another.

I know why they want Biden in office. So that 2 months in office they can use the article of the constitution to say he’s mentally unable to lead !!

Did you see Gov. Cuomo in his news conference say, “we brought the numbers down. God did not do that.

Apples compared with oranges. I really don't remember anything of a sexual nature that I may have taken part in as a teenager, but I did some really ridiculous and bad things. Comparing something said about Kavanaugh as a kid with something of which Biden is said to have done as an adult seeking an office in any form of government is totally ridiculous. These complainers need to get over it.

Standing on the WORD-----BY Bonnie R. Parvino
    Hang in there---Stay the course
Follow Jesus, step by step, with no remorse.
Motivated because God's Most Marvelous Love.
He was clothed in majesty & came to us from Heaven above.

Jesus gives us the ultimate work---We should be immovable in Christ.
Hang in there---To the End---Because of the lamb of God---The Most Holy Sacrifice.
And when we see within God's Word---Therefor---We must stop & see---what it is there for.
By studying God's Word & By living in HIM---We add to the jewels & their score.

One day we will experience real victory as we will experience Jesus himself in that day.
In the meantime, "JESUS WITHIN US" is the same JESUS, in the future, that walks with us in HIS HOLY WAY.
Death is swallowed up in victory.
Total victory over death you will see.

With the right motivation we can do anything.
Bears can go faster than us, Lambs are there to sing.
You can do more than you think you can.
One presentation of the WORD", presents "VICTORY ON DEMAND."

Face the things that are now until HE takes us home.
This is vital in what & who we can win & an explanation of our joy filled tone.
There are good tools to use such as books that the original words explain.
Know all you can on who wrote it---remembering God's WORD is infallible & true & comes into our hearts as a summer rain.

Stick to the WORD---be steadfast & the WORD will see you through.
Keep on---Keep On---Be steadfast & hold your ground----God's victory will supply & HE alone can do.
And, know within---YOU BELONG TO THE ONE WITHIN & NEVER---NEVER RETREAT.
Be IMMOVABLE & always know---you are within His Most Holy Keep.

We are standing on the Bedrock---Firm & Sure.
If you don't stand for something---you will fall for anything---so stand on the WORD in order to endure.
I WAS TOLD TO STAND ON THE WORD & I DID NOT KNOW HOW.
THIS WAS LONG AGO---& I PLACED A BIG BIBLE ON THE FLOOR & ON IT I STOOD---I AM LEARNING FROM THIS SERMON EVEN NOW.

MIKE---JOE BIDEN IS NOT OUR ENEMY. NOR IS THE ONES THAT JUMPED TOWARDS MR. KAVANAUGH OUR ENEMY.------- WE HAVE ONE ENEMY AND THAT IS SATAN. WE WITHIN THE CHURCH NEED TO FIGHT OUR ENEMY AND NOT PEOPLE. AS------------WE HAVE ONE CHAMPION & THAT IS JESUS--------->>>>>>>>>SINCE JESUS COMES BACK WITH THE SWORD IN HIS MOUTH---------WE KNOW THAT THE SWORD IS THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT-----THE STEEL OF THE SPIRIT ------ THE HOLY WORD OF GOD. WE MUST STAND ON THE WORD & FIGHT ALL OF THESE DEMONIC ACTIVITIES THAT ARE GOING ON TOWARDS US. I SAY THIS AND IT IS BECAUSE I HAVE HAD TO LEARN ABOUT THIS THE HARD WAY. LOVE YALL, BONNIE PARVINO I AM STILL LEARNING ABOUT THIS -----------BUT I HAVE A POEM WRITTEN AFTER I HEARD A SERMON BY MY PASTOR ON FEB 09-2020.

Yes, a bad virus but the shutting down of America wasn’t necessary. Did someone say a ‘medical coup’ to take down Pres. Trump and our country?? Better to isolate those at risk but then this was being used to do far more than protecting people from a pandemic. ??Think doctors being paid by Bill Gates????
