DEBATE TOPICS

The moderator of the final Presidential debate on October 22, Kristen Welker of NBC News, announced the topics she plans to cover: Fighting COVID-19, American Families, Race in America, Climate Change, National Security and Leadership.

It’s a fine collection of well-worn DNC talking points and menu items from the Biden-Harris campaign website, but do you notice anything missing? For instance, any issues the American people actually care about, other than COVID-19, which has already been talked to death in the first debate, the VP debate and the two townhalls?

According to a recent Gallup Poll, the #1 issue Americans are most concerned about is not Q-Anon or the President’s tax returns, it’s the economy, with terrorism and national security ranked second. The coronavirus came in third, followed by healthcare, race relations, gun policy, crime, abortion and immigration. Climate change was in 11th place.

I can see why the media are steering clear of questions on gun policy, crime, abortion and immigration, since those likely wouldn’t reflect well on Democrats. I’m sure it will be hard enough to slant the questions to make the economy, terrorism, national security and race relations reflect well on Democrats.

SCIENCE QUESTION

If a powerful political family commits massive corruption and influence peddling and most of the media refuse to report it, and social media censors anyone from talking about it, does the corruption and influence peddling still exist? Yes, and it will only get worse if the source makes it all the way to the White House, which is the goal of all that silence and censorship.

For the record, the Media Research Center has been keeping tabs. Over the two days (Wednesday and Thursday) when the Hunter Biden story was (against all odds) breaking, there was a total of 92 hours of news broadcast on ABC, CBS and NBC, the two townhalls and 18 hours a day each on CNN and MSNBC. Out of that 92 hours, less than 10 minutes was devoted to the Hunter Biden story. That included zero minutes on ABC and CNN.

But maybe they were just afraid to bring it up to Joe Biden for fear he’d bite their heads off. Bo Erickson of CBS actually asked Biden, “What is your response to the New York Post story about your son, sir?” Biden called it a “smear campaign,” then went off on Erickson personally, saying, “I know you’d ask it. I have no response, it’s another smear campaign, right up your alley, those are the questions you always ask.”

https://www.theepochtimes.com/joe-biden-calls-ny-post-story-about-his-son-hunter-another-smear-campaign_3542341.html

Well, at least he didn’t call him a “dog-faced pony soldier.” And for the record, reporting on potential high-level government corruption backed by firsthand email evidence is not a “smear.” An example of a “smear” would be if you kept accusing someone of calling neo-Nazis “very fine people,” even after that claim had been repeatedly debunked.

While there’s not much that can be done about the TV networks' blatant bias and dereliction of journalistic duty, the social media billionaires are about to learn that they don’t control the public’s freedom of speech. In addition to the demands to come in and “talk” to the Senate, they’ve been hit with an FEC complaint by the Republican National Committee for making an illegal “in-kind” contribution to the Biden campaign by shutting down discussion of the growing scandal.

TERROR AND FREE SPEECH

Friday in Eragny, France, northwest of Paris, a male teacher was attacked and beheaded on the street by an Islamic extremist, who was killed by police. The teacher had shown students a cartoon of Muhammed as part of a lesson on free speech. This was the second terrorist attack since a trial began related to the 2015 massacre at the offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which printed a cartoon depicting Muhammed. In the first attack, two people suffered non-fatal stab wounds and the attacker, a young Pakistani man, was arrested.

This latest horrific crime should serve as a lesson to the entire world about free speech. It’s also a stark warning that evil still exists. It’s just hiding in the shadows, biding its time while we argue over trivialities, and hoping that we’ll forget the recent past and let our guard down. Reminder: from 2010 to 2014, ISIS was allowed to take over territory in the Middle East the size of Pennsylvania, bringing with them mass murder, torture, sex slavery and beheadings. Have we already forgotten so completely who was in charge of our foreign policy at that time that we want to put the same people back in charge?

UNDECIDED VOTERS?!?

The people in the audience at the two town halls this week made more news than the candidates.

At the NBC Trump townhall, it appears that a black woman was moved into direct camera range behind Trump, possibly in hopes that she would express displeasure with him. But that backfired when she turned out to be a Trump supporter who nodded in emphatic agreement every time he refuted one of the moderator’s attacks. Even though she was wearing a mask, leftists were so outraged that a black woman dared to think in ways they disapprove of that they tracked down her identity and doxxed her on the Internet. I hope that backfires by making her a celebrity and showing the world just one more example of the left’s staggering sense of white privilege.

By the way, the woman who told Trump how handsome he was when he smiled also infuriated leftists and helped shatter the host’s carefully-constructed theme for the townhall, which was “EVERYBODY HAAAAAAAAAAATES TRUMP!!!”

Meanwhile, over on the ABC tongue bath for Joe Biden, the hosts must have had as much trouble getting Americans to show up for the broadcast as Joe does drawing a crowd at his “rallies.” That might explain why they had to substitute the announced “undecided voters” with partisans and political insiders, including a man who worked as a speechwriter under Obama.

Democrats protested that he was just a speechwriter in the Small Business Administration and Commerce Department and worked in the government under both Bush and Obama.

But the point is that ABC led us to believe these were all just ordinary “undecided” voters. Does nobody at ABC even know how to make contact with someone who isn’t a political appointee drawing a government or DNC paycheck? If so, they’re welcome to give me a call, and I’ll hook them up with some non-Swamp-dwelling Americans.

GREAT WEEKEND STORY

Here’s a great weekend story to take your mind off politics and remind you that there are other things in life that need tending to. Stacy Lois Oliver was a Chicago woman who died at 52 of the neurodegenerative disorder MSA. But before she did, she wrote her own obituary. It contains a lot of wise advice, so much that it went viral. Read it yourself, then go smell some roses. And say a prayer for her husband, Jeff, too.

    Gov,
I am furious over how our debates are handled. It seems that the "nonpartisan debate committee" does all they can to stack the deck against our President (and truth, for that matter). Kristen Welker is just a Lester Holt clone. Mr Trump will be debating the MSNBC loser this round. What can be done to get the nation set up with truly neutral coverage at these debates? They are WORTHLESS in the current format and only represent an in-kind donation to the Democrats by the corrupt network.
    Thanks!

    Gov,
I am furious over how our debates are handled.
    Thanks!

Thanks for your Daily Bible Verse at the end of your reports, Governor. It makes me reflect on what I've just read and take a deep breath.

    Townhalls:
    o Presidents Interrogation, intimidation
    o Biden: nothing, softball games
    No issues resolved
Voter left with nothing for both
    Biden by design
Presidents by damn media anger etc.
    NO more debates or townhalls
Or President uses rally like townhall with active audience for input
    No Moderator.
