The great sage, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, apparently didn't take Civics so she wants to get rid of the Electoral College. The college we need to close is the one who gave her a degree! She won't watch this but I sure hope you will. The Electoral College is good for Democrats and Republicans and it is good for America.

This needs to be broadcast and rebroadcast over and over in every state (except maybe NY and California.) Thanks for making it so clear why we need the Electoral College.

Another thing, Hillary did not win the popular vote because there was no popular election. Had there been one, campaigning would have been dramatically different. Candidates would have visited and spent ad dollars in States that they bypassed in the electoral college election because those States were a lost cause. The outcome cannot be predicted by the popular vote count in an electoral college election.

    Governor Huckabee,
First please tell your wonderful daughter I love her decision to join FOX, I watch Tucker, Hannity and Laura all the time, she will be a great asset to the network.

Now about the Electoral College, did AOC really get a degree? Was it in bartending? or something else? Yes she needs to go back to school and learn civics, I think that subject is not taught in schools any more and should. Really she needs to go back to being a bartender, maybe more people would listen to her!

Excellent description of why we need the electoral college. It gives every state a fair shake.

    The electoral college must remain.
The electoral college was agreed so that small states would endorse the US constitution. Without equal representation of states the US would not exist. At the time of drafting the 10th amendment ensured state sovereignty, Each of the 13 states would have independent control and unite to a federal union. The apportionment of members in the upper chamber was inducement to smaller states they would have equal representation in federal government. The electoral college was further inducement to join, It allowed states a say in who would be president and vice president.
Today, 14 states have 5 or fewer members of congress. 5 states have but one more congressional member and 7 have only 3. Those 14 states with no more than 5 together have fewer congressional members than California. A presidential election by popular vote would completely disenfranchise those 14 states as well as the others with 6 congressional members. Would any of those 19 states agree to disenfranchise themselves? 35 states must favor a constitutional change for it to happen.
    The electoral college must remain.

Wonderful explanation!! We all need to study the Constitution and the related writings of the Founders before being so quick to get rid of a carefully crafted, balanced document that has proved to be protective of the people. I am currently watching Constitution Alive!, a series on Amazon Prime by David Barton and Rick Green, which I HIGHLY recommend. Keep up the great work!!

I agree with you and most people.......the Electoral College needs to stay! It has worked just fine after all of these years! I also agree with you about the College that AOC attended, it does need to be closed down. She is Dumber than Dumb! There are too many Snowflakes that have that piece of paper saying they went to school, but WHAT HAVE THEY LEARNED with all of those Communist Professors teaching since the 1960's????? So glad my Grand-daughters have gone to Lipscomb and one is now at Belmont! Much better! lol

Only IF the E.C. disagrees with their agenda! Obviously, she has a problem with order and rules. You would think that someone who "speaks up for" minority color, nationality, opinion or sexual affiliation would DEFEND The E.C. After all, it's the "Minority population" states -- in number of votes -- who benefit most therein. If it weren't FOR the E.C., states like WY, AK and ME would be run-over by CA, NY and TX and never get any "say" in the direction of this nation. Seems obvious to me.

Excellent review, Governor! As you noted, the criminal Clinton won the popular vote by about 3,000 +- 10 or 20. She won CA by 3,000 and NY by about 1,000. Given those numbers, the criminal should have won by 4,000+ votes. Only winning by 3,000 votes tells you the criminal LOST, by significant numbers, EVERYWHERE else in the country!

These 'brainiacs' that want to abolish the Electoral College would cede our elections to LA, SF, and NYC - nobody else would need to vote - and NO conservative would ever be elected again!

I shudder to think we might get rid of this institution. Right now it would guarantee a Democrat Presidency for years to come. It will take a long time for NY and CA to get disgusted enough to vote otherwise. By that time our economy will be in shambles, our cities pig pens, our courts allowing old people to commit suicide, and our society encouraging the same, designer babies, persecution of Christians and Jews, rampant crime, and the destruction of our health care system. In short order, except for the elite, everyone will be equally poor and there will be a toilet paper shortage,
