Evening Edition - April 25

April 25, 2019

Joe diGenova’s comments on Wednesday’s “Ingraham Angle” about the FISA court have created a stir, but still not enough of one. (If you watched the show and thought, “Wow, Laura Ingraham has REALLY changed,” that’s because it was me hosting that night.) DiGenova broke the news that Admiral Mike Rogers uncovered FISA abuse in 2016 and worked with the FISA court for months to determine that illegal spying had taken place and that the court had been lied to by Obama's DOJ/FBI.

Trump has been aware of this; in fact, I get the impression that Trump’s tweet that Trump Tower had been “wiretapped,” greeted by leftists with scorn and ridicule at the time, was sparked by a briefing he got from Rogers. Trump KNEW. The chief FISA judge now confirms that illegal spying happened, that it had been blithely going on during the four years previous to the election, and that AG Sally Yates and her deputy AG knew about it.  This was carried out during Obama’s tenure, and it targeted Republicans.

Here’s a detailed timeline of what happened, along with a telling quote from Rogers.

https://www.independentsentinel.com/whoa-adm-rogers-worked-with-fisa-court-on-illegal-spying-since-2016/

The FISA court first issued an opinion on this in 2017, but the details of the story have been lost in the shuffle of all the endless accusations and investigations that have gone on since before Trump became President. Now that the special counsel investigation is over and President Trump is able to tap his constitutional authority without being accused of “obstructing the Russia investigation,” it’s time for accountability. And diGenova did say that indictments would be coming out of this.

For background, here’s a detailed story about criminal abuse of the FISA court that came out in 2017, noting that the “MSM keeps quiet.” Indeed. And the silence is deafening even today. But this will not be going away, not now.

------------------------------------

Joe Biden finally made it official this morning, releasing a video in which he announced that he is running for President.  He also showed that he will not allow any of those young Democratic whippersnappers to get the jump on him by letting the very first words of his candidacy announcement be an already-debunked whopper of a lie.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-officially-launches-2020-presidential-bid

Biden claimed he has to run for President because we are in a “battle for the soul of our nation,” citing President Trump’s comment that there were “very fine people on both sides” of race riots in Charlottesville, and “with those words, the President of the United assigned a moral equivalence between those spreading hate and those with the courage to stand against it."

As even anti-Trump outlets like CNN once admitted before they went insane, Trump was extremely clear that he was talking about good people on both sides of the debate about removing Confederate monuments, and he stressed at the time that he condemned the white nationalists unequivocally.

Maybe Joe was just proving that he is ready, willing and able to look Americans straight in the eye and tell them a divisive, corrosive lie about his opponent that anyone who’s been paying the slightest attention should know is a crock of horse manure.  Judging from the field so far, I’d say that’s definitely one of the requirements for the Party’s nomination.

If he wanted to prove that he really cared about protecting the soul of America, it would have been far more impressive to stand up to the nutjobs in his own party, urge them to get over their derangement that’s tearing the nation apart, face the truth, and deal with it honestly like adults.  But I think we know how likely he’d be to win the Democratic primaries if he did that.

------------------------------

As I have tried to impress on my readers, viewers and listeners for a decade now, polls should always be taken with a pillar of salt, and polls taken well over a year before the election are worth less than a lecture on ethics from James Comey.  The latest “shock” news being touted is a Morning Consult poll showing Joe Biden entering the race with an 8-point lead over Trump.

https://morningconsult.com/2019/04/24/joe-biden-is-the-front-runner-over-democrats-and-donald-trump/

I’ll remind you that in the last election, one poll far closer to Election Day showed Hillary Clinton with an 11-point lead over Trump.  By that standard, Joe is way behind. He’d better hurry out there on the campaign trail and start pressing the flesh.

Wait, maybe I’d better rephrase that…

---------------------------------

How come every idea that comes out of the “progressive” movement is just a rehash of something that was already tried and failed in the last century?  Now, yet another chunk of recycled garbage has been plucked from the scrap heap of history, shined up and trotted out as new: “price controls.”

While President Trump has been working hard and had success at lowering drug prices by eliminating bonuses to middlemen and fast-tracking approval of generic drugs, Bernie Sanders has a better idea: price controls!  The government will just put a limit on how much pharmaceutical companies can charge for drugs, based on an average of what they cost in five other nations.

https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/lefts-rx-drug-plan/

Of course, this doesn’t take into account the fact that America leads the way in innovative drug breakthroughs because our capitalist system allows the companies to charge enough to pay for all the expensive research and development it takes to test many drugs that don’t work out until they find one that does (a process that costs about a billion dollars per drug.)  Take that away, and you not only create shortages and black markets, as price controls always do, but you also choke off the creation of innovative new drugs.  Medical patients pay for that with their lives.

I do have to hand it to the “progressives,” though. For once, they didn’t just reach back to the last century to pluck another failed bad idea (although price controls were certainly tried then, and always failed, as with the 1970s “energy crisis.”)  This time, “progressives” actually came up with an idea that’s proved disastrous again and again down through history for over 4,000 years.  (Note: they are trying to pretty it up in some cases with a new name: “binding arbitration.”  Same poison, different chalice.)

At the link are some examples from a book called “Forty Centuries of Wage and Price Controls,” detailing the consistently catastrophic effects of price control regulations starting with ancient Babylon, moving forward through Egypt and Greece, the Roman Empire, George Washington’s troops nearly starving to death because of food price controls, the French Revolution, World War II and right up to today.

https://mises.org/library/four-thousand-years-price-control

If Bernie supporters give the usual socialist excuse that the right people just haven’t been in charge of implementing price controls yet, you can point out that virtually every people on Earth have been in charge of implementing them at one time or another, and the results have always been the same: 4,000 years of catastrophic failure. Or to put in even more shocking terms, nearly 52 times longer than Bernie Sanders has been alive.

--------------------------------

At the link is a terrific video you’ll want to see, and if you have kids who are high school age or, worse, in college, you should sit them down right now and show it to them.  This is Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus explaining the difference between capitalism and socialism.

https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/watch-message-home-depot-co-founder-something-every-socialist-needs-see/

As he accurately notes, socialism “robs people of their independence, their dignity and their finances, leading to government dependence, suppression of ideas and lower standards of living for those under its thumb.” The belief that wealth is finite and production must be controlled by easily-corruptible government authorities always leads to shortages, poverty and oppression.

Meanwhile, America’s free market capitalist system “has been the biggest creator of wealth and prosperity the world has ever known, lifting billions of people out of poverty, and far more superior than any government program could ever be.”  That wealth creation also enables our high levels of giving to charity.  And it’s much fairer than socialism because capitalism is the only system where a simple idea can turn anybody into a financial success.

For example, he notes that in 1979, he’d just been fired and was broke when he co-founded Home Depot and turned “a simple idea and hard work into a company that employs more than 400,000 people and has created thousands of successful millionaires,” which could only happen under America’s capitalist system.

Ironically, Bernie Marcus could have also pointed to America’s most prominent socialist, Bernie Sanders, as an example of the exact same benefits of capitalism that he enjoyed.  After college, Sanders tried his hand at a number of private sector jobs: Head Start teacher, psychiatric aide, carpenter, filmmaker, writer of leftwing articles, seller of “radical film strips” to schools, and more, all with no real success.  But then he got into government and had a simple idea – write a book about how great socialism is and sell it to his poor, deluded supporters.  Today, he’s a millionaire with three expensive houses!

That socialist owes it all to capitalism!

Have they now reached the breaking point CNN and MSNBC and others of that the lies can no longer go any further per the final Mueller report? Nothing was done to anyone per the Russians Hmm! Anyone indicted was for their own business stupidity. When are we to hear about VP Bidens son and Kerrys son and their business with Ukraine and China ? Why was this hidden? You did a great job for Laura Ingraham last night and I really enjoy your calm, your wit, and your willingness to just let guests speak without interruption. Possibly the most informative and best Ingraham show I've seen.

I also like the background on FISC. I recall reading about that ruling but the story disappeared so fast if you blinked, you missed it.

I think this bone-deep corruption in the Obama DOJ and Intel communities is and always has been the big scandal everyone wants to pretend never happened. I always said Mike Rogers was the White Hat and it's nice to see how right I was about him and about those dishonorable scum Clapper, Brennan, and Comey. Obama and Clinton must pay for their roles in this. I hope Trump gets his vindication.

Brother Mike, I haven't read your newsletter yet but thought you'd want to know that Andrew Collins and Will Bond, state legislators representing Little Rock, AR, in the AR capitol just are not voting as they should. Turning the cities of Arkansas into entertainment districts like Bourbon Street goes against everything that makes Arkansas the nature state. They've also voted against attempts to protect women and children in abortion clinics and keep as many women as possible away from them. Please listen to what Ben Shapiro had to say to Mayor Pete about religion and abortion yesterday (766 I think). Ben Shapiro seldom talks about religion but what he has said to Mayor Pete is good.

God Bless you Governor Huckabee! Keep the truth, the facts, and God's open door enlarged daily through your Evening Editions! I love receiving the background notes and references that collaborate Obama's hand in all of this! In 2008 when the bottom fell out of the economy, for the first time in my life, I was ashamed of America and it's leaders. Over the past 9 years, only God and His "awesome faithfulness and power" as exhibited through "His People" and answered prayer, has my American patriotism been renewed. He truely has revealed what has been concealed and has brought out into the open what was hidden. Proud to stand and continue the fight with you! Glorty to God! We are truely blessed to be Americans!

I was listening to local talk radio here in Delaware after bloviatin' Joe Biden announced his candidacy. One caller said Biden would do well in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan because "his words resonate with people". That's true of most democrats, their words resonate. But once in office, their performance frequently is the opposite of what they told us during their election campaign. Biden has no core principles, any nore than Bill and Hillary. They blow with the wind, saying what they think is the buzzword or phrase of the day. It will be interesting to see Joe tap dance his way around promising all the things Bernie, Fauxcohantas, Kamal and Beto promise, while trying to portray himself as a moderate democrat.

I read an article a short time ago that a judge and court officer have been charged with obstruction in Massachusetts. It seems that ICE had placed a hold on an illegal alien for a drug offense and having been twice deported previously. The ICE member was asked to wait outside of the court proceedings during which the court recorder was turned off and the judge gave instructions on how the defendant, his lawyer and a interpreter could exit a side door and avoid ICE which they did. Good news and hopefully we will see more of this. They should go after his attorney as well.

Dear gov.socialism is a scary thought in this country of ours because of it robs people of their thought process

This is not a Huck’s Criminal Mastermind story, although it does involve a crook who is a bird brain.  In this case, it’s a parrot who has more brains that any Huck’s Criminal Mastermind.

Wait until the Pandora Box is opened on this lie per the FISA report and onto the fake Dossier. Amazing when now we get MSNBC saying their is now a big problem at the border. We all now wonder who in our SWAMP is to be trusted after all? See what our FBI tried to do is very scary for all of us who put faith in this group of men and women. One thing to have your own beliefs in politics and another to take your job and use to scam another politician you do not agree with? This was wrong totally wrong. Who is running our country and our Govt and why?

Thanks for being a great guest host. Hope to see you often on FOX.
