"The Reliant"

First the mainstream media tried to silence conservative voices.  Then the Internet social media sites got into the act.  And now, the Motion Picture Association of America’s ratings board seems to have decided to leap onto the bandwagon by slapping a pro-family Christian film with an “R” rating for no good reason.

The MPAA put the “R” rating on “The Reliant,” an upcoming faith-based action film starring Kevin Sorbo.  The producers were stunned, since, as one homeschooling mom who attended a screening with her kids said, she found it “perfectly appropriate for family viewing. It deals with social issues in a meaningful way that is generally acceptable to children and adults alike. Unlike other movies, there is no nudity, sex, horror, profanity, innuendo, intoxication, blasphemy or racism in ‘The Reliant.’ There is more to dislike in the animated children’s movie ‘Captain Underpants’ than in ‘The Reliant.'”

So why did the MPAA get their underpants in a knot over this movie?  They’re not exactly clear about why they thought it should receive a rating that would kill it at the box office.  But the producers believe their beef is because it depicts the responsible use of a firearm by a 12-year-old boy to save his family in a post-Apocalyptic world, which makes it too pro-Second Amendment to be seen by anyone under 17.

Judging by that criteria, the Disney classic “Old Yeller” would be rated R.  And that kid shot a dog!

The filmmakers are crowdfunding to raise money to release the movie and to appeal the MPAA’s ruling.  They’re offering various premiums for donations.  The story is at this link:

Rabbi Jeffrey Myers

Here is a story that should shame those on the left who constandly spit vitriol while accusing President Trump of being the fount of all “hate” -- that is, if they are capable of shame.  It’s about Rabbi Jeffrey Myers, the leader of the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh where an anti-Semitic monster murdered 11 people during a Shabbat service last weekend.

President Trump, his wife Melania, daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner visited the synagogue Tuesday to pay their respects to the victims, and the Rabbi welcomed them and led them to a nearby memorial.  He did not listen to the partisan hyenas who are trying to blame Trump for the killing (the killer hated Trump, by the way, for being too pro-Israel) and demanding that city leaders spurn him.

For refusing to allow naked partisan bile to overrule basic human decency in a time of tragedy and mourning, the Rabbi has since been receiving politically-motivated hate mail.

It’s sick enough when you get up every day screaming at the clouds because your side didn’t win an election.  But to carry that blind partisan rage so far that you actually write vicious hate mail to a rabbi whose synagogue has just been the site of a tragic mass shooting? No matter what you think of yourself, you are not a morally superior being.  In fact, you desperately need to look into a mirror and take stock of what you’ve become.  I don’t know whether that will require an honest reassessment, consulting your own clergyman, seeing a psychiatrist or calling an exorcist.  But do whatever it takes before your extreme negativity forms a black hole.

https://www.westernjournal.com/rabbi-receives-hate-mail-welcoming-trump-synagogue-memorial/

And if you try to justify such reprehensible behavior by claiming that Trump refuses to strongly denounce rightwing haters, as many on the left are now claiming, here is what he said about this shooting four days ago:

“This evil, anti-Semitic attack is an assault on all of us. It is an assault on humanity. It must be confronted and condemned everywhere it rears its ugly head. We must stand with our Jewish brothers and sisters to defeat anti-Semitism and vanquish the forces of hate. Those seeking their destruction, we will seek their destruction.”

Is that not a strong enough statement against anti-Semitic butchers for his critics?  It's understandable if you haven't heard it, since few media outlets reported it, at least not in full.  As David Bernstein at Instapundit notes, it’s certainly stronger than when Obama reacted to the killing of four people in a Kosher deli in Paris with this: “It is entirely legitimate for the American people to be deeply concerned when you’ve got a bunch of violent, vicious zealots who behead people or randomly shoot a bunch of folks in a deli in Paris.”

Obama couldn't even bring himself to use the words to describe accurately what these murderers were.  He didn't call for their destruction but for "deep concern."  And they weren’t “random folks.”  They were Jewish patrons of a Kosher deli.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/feb/10/white-house-obama-paris-kosher-deli-shootings-random

Still, even Obama’s mealy-mouthed statement was a far stronger stand against anti-Semitic thugs than sending hate mail to a rabbi because he didn’t kowtow to your political biases.

If you needed yet another reason to get off the couch and vote Republican, consider this: if Democrats control Congress, there will be no recourse to tech giants using their power to silence any voices they don’t like, and they are getting bolder and more blatant about it every day.

Latest example: the Christian pro-life news outlet LifeSite was given just 12 hours’ notice by its web-hosting company that their service was being suspended and they would have to move to another host, an almost impossible task in such a short time frame.  LifeSite claims the reason was a months-long campaign of complaints by Adam Flanders, who claims the site was implicated in a hate crime against a gay man.  LifeSite replied, “Flanders is a convicted sex abuser and homosexual activist who is angered over our reports exposing him and his past.”

Allowing host companies to throw legitimate news sites off the Internet because someone doesn’t like what they’re reporting would be like letting the electric company shut off power to a TV station that reported on a scandal at the electric company.  If tech companies continue abusing their power in this way, the only recourse might be to pass new laws limiting their powers or even declaring some of them public utilities - something I’d normally oppose, but through their aggressively partisan behavior, they aren’t leaving too many other options.

But now, imagine trying to pass laws requiring fairness for conservative sites with Nancy Pelosi as Speaker.  With that image in your head, go and vote now, if you haven’t already, before someone in Silicon Valley decides that Republicans shouldn’t be allowed to access Google Maps to find their polling places.

Today’s Must-See Video

I can’t believe that every two years, I have to remind people (not you, but people in the media) that polls are getting less reliable every year, and the only one that counts is the one that’s taken on Election Day.  The election is still a week away, and we’re already hearing that there’s an 86.7% chance (or whatever the latest number is) that the Democrats will take over the House.  I’d remind you that these same media outlets were telling us that there was a 92% chance that Hillary would win on the morning of the last national Election Day.  I remember watching the odds-meter on the New York Times website all through the day and evening as the needle on it slowly moved from Hillary 90% to Trump 100%.

And yet, every election, the talking heads, needing something to talk about and being obsessed with odds and horse races, yammer on about polls and predictions as if they weren’t the original “fake news.”  Nobody ever remembers how wrong they were last time as they get caught up in what they say this time.

But the combination of certainty and cluelessness is not just limited to polls. At the link is an expertly edited video showing media “experts” from August 2017 to now, parroting the same buzzwords over and over, declaring that Trump is at a “tipping point,” it’s a “bombshell,” he’s “in big trouble,” the “walls are closing in,” it’s the “beginning of the end,” and resignation/impeachment/arrest/mental breakdown are surely just moments away.  Meanwhile, Trump is still President, he’s enacted most of the policies he ran on, they’re working pretty darn well, and his approval rating is up.

https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/flashback-footage-medias-trump-predictions-comes-back-humiliating-fashion/

So when you hear these self-styled geniuses asserting with similar confidence that the Democrats are going to win the House and possibly the Senate, remember: they haven’t been right about anything so far.

You absolutely have the power to insure that the revitalized economy and America-first foreign policy continue, and as a fun bonus, make these arrogant political operatives masquerading as journalists suffer another two years of looking like over-caffeinated loons.

All you have to do is get out of the house and vote Republican in the only poll that counts.

Excellent as usual. I watched a segment this AM on Fox Business ( I make sure my TV in the house is not on F & F because I cannot Mute or Change Channels when Shep or Juan make facetime appearances) and the commentator was giving the usual 'What IF' about the upcoming election and he mentioned MS could be the DECIDING vote in the House and even though I have already voted absentee I became excited enough to take a shot of Nitro. Bennie Thompson as Chairman of Homeland Security? THIS JUST CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!

The social media giants are not the only ones interfering with conservative communications. I am finding more and more emails from conservatives in my Spam folder. There are too many of them for it to be "accidental" or "hate speech." If that were the case, emails from liberal sources would get the same treatment.
