A furious backlash to Biden, Garland plan

By Mike Huckabee

I’m very glad to see that Attorney General Merrick Garland’s plan to engage federal, state and local law enforcement to intimidate parents who protest the actions of leftist schools boards is being met with the overwhelming furious backlash it deserves. One commentator said this might be the straw that broke the camel’s back (sorry for triggering any animal lovers) for the Democrats’ dwindling hopes in the midterm elections. This is such an outrageous assault on the most basic rights of all citizens to engage in free speech and protest, and of all parents to have a say in how their children are educated, that the outrage cuts across all political and racial lines.

To be clear: I'm not defending anyone who makes actual physical threats against school board members. But Garland cited no examples of actual threats to justify this. Instead, his statement included vague and overly broad terms such as “harassment” and “intimidation,” which signals that this is really an abuse of power designed to chill free speech. He also offered no justification for literally making a federal case out of these hypothetical threats, which are already covered by laws and police on the local level. The only reasons to federalize this are to assert more control in picking targets and to ramp up the intimidation factor (ironically, Garland is the one who seems to be guilty of attempting to harass and intimidate people.)

Here’s a round-up of just some of the reactions to this Orwellian abuse of power:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis blasted Garland for “weaponizing the DOJ by using the FBI to pursue concerned parents and silence them through intimidation,” adding, “Florida will defend the free speech rights of its citizens and will not allow federal agents to squelch dissent.” His spokeswoman also called it “despicable and un-American,” saying, “Florida law enforcement is perfectly capable of responding to crimes in Florida, and we have never heard the FBI suggest otherwise. However, disagreement is not harassment. Protest is not terrorism, unless it involves rioting, looting, and assault, like some of the left-wing protests of summer 2020.”

https://redstate.com/nick-arama/2021/10/05/desantis-throws-down-the-gauntlet-confronts-garland-on-troubling-fbi-announcement-n452335

Speaking of that, while the DOJ and FBI busy themselves with surveilling Trump voters and intimidating concerned parents, murders took the biggest spike in history in 2020, nearly 30 percent (thanks, all you police-defunding blue state Governors, mayors and city councils!)…

https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/573550-murders-up-30-percent-in-largest-increase-on-record

And while the FBI is ignoring that, they’re also doing virtually nothing about actual violent terrorists and anarchists like Antifa, as long as they’re on the left.

"Dangerous nonsense"

By Mike Huckabee

Former federal prosecutor Andrew C. McCarthy (who initially strongly endorsed Garland’s nomination for Attorney General) has a must-read article at National Review about Garland targeting parents, and he calls the alleged justification for it “dangerous nonsense.”

https://www.nationalreview.com/2021/10/the-biden-justice-departments-lawless-threat-against-american-parents/

McCarthy relates an incredible story about his time in the Clinton DOJ under Garland, when he tried to build a case against the notorious “Blind Sheikh” Omar Abdel Rahman for soliciting acts of violence and seditious conspiracy. He says that at the time, Clinton was under pressure from leftwing and Islamic groups affiliated with the Democratic Party. Garland refused to let him pursue the case, telling him that the DOJ had to respect free speech and “avoid ‘chilling’ speech by conflating criminal incitement with constitutionally protected rhetoric that expressed hatred for America.” Later, Osama bin Laden would credit Rahman for the fatwa approving the 9/11 attacks.

So Garland protected Rahman’s free speech but wants to use the free speech of parents angry at leftwing school boards to treat them as terrorists.

Beautiful responses to Biden, Garland

By Mike Huckabee

Tuesday morning, the Supreme Court shattered one more liberal dream by rejecting an appeal of a lower court ruling that D.C. residents are not entitled to voting representation in Congress. That court cited a 2000 SCOTUS ruling that the Constitution does not require that DC must have a right to vote in Congress.

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/landonmion/2021/10/04/supreme-court-declines-to-hear-appeal-over-dc-representation-in-congress-n2596942

DC Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton expressed deep disappointment but insisted that this ruling "has no bearing on D.C. statehood, which would give D.C. residents not only voting representation in Congress but full control over their local affairs."

I’m not a lawyer, but it seems to me that it does. The same Constitution that the SCOTUS found does not require that DC have a vote in Congress also specifically states in Article 1, Section 8, that the nation’s capital will not be part of a state nor treated as a state, but in a neutral district under the sole authority of Congress, where the representatives of all states can meet on equal footing.

https://www.bostonglobe.com/2020/06/21/opinion/constitution-says-no-dc-statehood/

Since this case shows that the SCOTUS will look to the Constitution in deciding such issues, then how can it not suggest that they will bar DC statehood, just as the Constitution does?

Please keep Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis in your prayers

By Mike Huckabee

I hope you’ll remember Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis in your prayers. Her husband, Gov. Ron DeSantis, announced that she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer.

https://redstate.com/jenniferoo/2021/10/04/fl-first-lady-casey-desantis-diagnosed-with-breast-cancer-n451631

Casey is a mother of three, and she has a stellar career on her own. She’s a former national champion equestrian and an Emmy-winning PGA tour host. Her husband told Fox News, “As she faces the most difficult test of her life, she will have not only my unwavering support but the support of our entire family, as well as the prayers and well wishes from Floridians across our state. Casey is a true fighter, and she will never, never, never give up.”

A new Project Veritas undercover video

By Mike Huckabee

Project Veritas has released another undercover video in its COVID-19 expose series.

https://redstate.com/bonchie/2021/10/05/watch-undercover-project-veritas-video-shows-pfizer-scientists-countering-government-narrative-n452094

This one shows various scientists who work for the vaccine maker and drug giant Pfizer privately admitting that natural immunity from having had COVID is likely better than vaccination and lasts longer (I’ve previously written about studies suggesting that natural immunity recognizes the entire virus rather than just the spike protein, making it more effective against variants.)

Various Pfizer scientists also talk about how they’re indoctrinated to ignore natural immunity, but those with it should be able to get some ID so they won’t be classified as simply “unvaccinated.” Some of them say COVID money is so important to Pfizer that the company doesn’t want anyone talking about natural immunity.

There’s more, and you can read about it and watch the video at the link.

Explosive story

By Mike Huckabee

NOTE: We’ve had this incendiary story about the Afghanistan evacuation for a couple of days and haven’t run it because the Pentagon issued a statement denying that it’s true. But it’s getting a lot of commentary in conservative media. We’re sharing it just so you’re aware of what the accusations are. Note that the denial of the story comes toward the end.

Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller update

By Mike Huckabee

A reader complained that we don’t cover the story of Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller, who is facing court martial and was put in the brig for speaking out and saying top brass should take accountability for the disastrous pullout from Afghanistan. This makes him so far the only military member to face any Afghanistan-related punishment, and he had nothing to do with it. I don’t know why the reader thinks we haven’t covered this story because we’ve run several articles on it and report whenever there’s a new development. Today, there is:

https://www.theepochtimes.com/mkt_breakingnews/lt-col-scheller-freed-but-charges-loom_4032636.html

Scheller has been released from military jail. Military officials had planned to conduct a pretrial hearing in secret on Tuesday, but that rightly sparked angry criticism from some media outlets and citizens. Instead, they released him and canceled the hearing. He might still face charges but he’s submitted a request for resignation in lieu of trial.

If the current military brass are smart (which is highly debatable), they’ll take that deal and get this story out of the headlines as quickly as possible, since it’s blowing up in their faces like a Taliban booby trap. Considering the disgusting display of arrogance, incompetence and finger-pointing we’ve seen from them so far, their attempt to persecute a good Marine just for saying what we were all saying is making them look even worse, if such a thing is possible.

Happy to hear Schiller is being released. Hope he has a good attorney who goes after the people who put him in jail.

Iam happy the Marine officer released from jail. The trial will be interesting to see how the military waeponizes the law to punish him.
It is unfortunate he has now weighed in to show how how Trump and other presidents are not acceptable to him!
He is clearly leftist and gets what's coming to him. Talking more like a Quisling. Will make a good RINO!

Is a Federal Agency still in operating mode without corruption dishonesty and conducting its business in a non waste manner.? for every dollar misused every employee should give back a dime from the top of the agency to the lower employee. The top should be prorated 75 cents at the top per dollar wasted or unaccounted, every day waste is conducted forfeit of 85 % of the daily wage that money would go to 25% to St. Judes Hospital 25% wounded warriors 25% tunnel to tower 25% to the social security fund. I doubt we could find anyone today honest enough to oversee a program like that. If waste was cut by 3/4th a bonus would be offered. We would not let the Big Guy in on the Stop the Wasted tax dollar fund as everyone knows the BIG GUY will always want his cut 10% to start and then increase the % thats biden econ 101 Biden should be called Blackmail Joe the Dirtiest Politician of them All ....

I'm a bit confused regarding the marine. I briefly caught a MSM newsclip that seemed to indicate that the marine didn't want support from Trump, or was rejecting his help/support, or something like that. This could be a misunderstanding on my part because it was just a brief scan, but I'm guessing it was a media misrepresentation??

AG Merrick Garland’s Daughter IS Married to Co-Founder of Education Company Selling Critical Race Theory Resource Material to School Districts

Well, well, well… This is interesting. U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland recently instructed the FBI to begin investigating parents who confront school board administrators over Critical Race Theory indoctrination material. The U.S. Department of Justice issued a memorandum to the FBI instructing them to initiate investigations of any parent attending a local school board meeting who might be viewed as confrontational, intimidating or harassing.

Attorney General Merrick Garland’s daughter is Rebecca Garland. In 2018 Rebecca Garland married Xan Tanner [LINK]. Mr. Xan Tanner is the current co-founder of a controversial education service company called Panorama Education. [LINK and LINK] Panorama Education is the “social learning” resource material provider to school districts and teachers that teach Critical Race Theory.

All the other crummy news of today seemed so minor when compared to the terrible news for Casey DeSantis. I can assure the DeSantis family that they have my family's full support, wishes and prayers for a full recovery. That family is a blessing to the state of Florida and its people.

I have Hillsdale College's "Imprimis" dated Feb 2016, and your mention of Rahman, Garland and Andrew C. McCarthy in the same paragraph should give extra insight in connection with the area of time that A.C. McCarthy worked as the federal prosecutor at the trial of the Blind Sheikh. How was Garland helping those pushing for the end of America using Sharia? Thank you for your kindness, I enjoy your work.

Maybe I missed your comments about Lt. Col. Scheller but in the aftermath of his original statement of facts about the withdrawal and subsequent release from solitary, I'm not too sure you read his comments about Trump on Facebook. I'm sure you know of the fund that was set up for him by Pipe Hitters which I willingly contributed to. After his comments about Trump and his family, I felt totally betrayed and asked for my money back which Pipe Hitters did without question. Personally as much as I admire his truthful comments about our dismal withdrawal from Afghanistan which was nothing more than the truth, he doesn't seem to know who contributed $2.4 million to him. I dare say isn't wasn't the liberal progressives, it was the MAGA people!

Thank you for the update on Lt. Col. Scheller. Been watching this closely on Fox News. What has happened to him is insane as is everything thing else in today's newsletter. We are truly experiencing the beginnings of the end times. It's all right there in the Bible-no doubt about it. Please continue to pray for Lt. Col. Scheller and for this country. Mid-terms can't come soon enough for me. God is in control-help us to not lose faith and hope.
