Mike Huckabee's Commentary On The News

Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe told Trey Gowdy on FOX NEWS Tuesday night that, based on intelligence that he has seen, he expected “additional actions taken by John Durham,” as he’s convinced that there were more incidents like the action of Kevin Clinesmith regarding the 2016 campaign. He noted that allegations of FISA abuse turned out to be true.

But I imagine his words generated a collective yawn among people who have been waiting years for accountability. Recall that Clinesmith pleaded guilty to fraudulently doctoring an official document but was recently sentenced to one year’s probation, community service and a $100 fine, essentially a slap on the wrist for committing a huge fraud that dragged Carter Page and the whole country through the “Russia Russia Russia” scam for years. It was a FISA COURT JUDGE who, inexplicably, presided over the case and, even more inexplicably, decided to let it go.

Now, Durham has reportedly moved on from the CIA without charging anyone --- John Brennan's MSNBC contract is safe --- and has moved his focus to the FBI. Sources have told FOX NEWS that high-ranking officials such as former FBI Director James Comey will not be charged. But Ratcliffe, putting the most positive spin on this that anyone could, said he doubts that such reports are accurate.

"Without betraying any confidences," Ratcliffe said, "I can tell you I sat in a room last July with John Durham and with Attorney General Barr; we looked at intelligence, and we all unanimously agreed that there was a problem there with respect to the FBI, that there wasn’t a proper predicate to begin, much less continue, a counterintelligence investigation against the Trump campaign. So I’d be surprised if this reporting is accurate, that there aren’t going to be additional indictments. I would expect that. I think the intelligence that I’ve seen reflects that, and I certainly think that, you know, once the investigation runs its course, that that’s what will take place.”

Ratcliffe said he wanted to see more instances of accountability, not because he wants to see “folks go to prison” but because he wants people to have trust in the FBI and the Department of Justice and “increasingly, they don’t.” But that's largely because folks like Kevin Clinesmith HAVEN'T gone to prison.

"The American people have seen the text messages and the emails, and the memos and the transcripts, and the FISA applications, and they know this just isn’t right," said Ratcliffe. "And...they see that this just wasn’t fair, and if the FBI and the Department of Justice can’t hold folks accountable for that, then we’re gonna have a problem down the road.”

No kidding.

It’s hard enough to have accountability when information has been released to the public, as in the case above, but what about when everything has been locked down? We’re going to step with one tiny toe into the case of Seth Rich, as his murder has been cloaked with secrecy and threats of lawsuits ever since it happened at 4:19AM on July 10, 2016. What is the story surrounding his death? We honestly don’t know, but a judge has given the FBI 82 days to produce all material in its possession that contains the name “Seth Rich.” Deadline: April 21. The attorney who pushed for this: Ty Clevenger. Here's a refresher.

And now, the update.

"I know there is enormous distrust and frustration over almost the utter failure of the Department of Justice and the Courts to play fair and do the right thing,” writes Larry Johnson at THE GATEWAY PUNDIT. But at least this judge is not playing along with the Deep State.”

Recall that Seth Rich, a DNC staffer who was shot and killed on a Washington DC street in what was said to be a robbery (in which nothing was taken), is alleged to have been involved with the hack/leak of the DNC server. Apparently, FBI counterintelligence people have been involved in an investigation, which strongly suggests that this was not a conventional robbery/murder.

The lid was slammed down long ago on anyone even talking about this. No one is supposed to even bring it up, but I will –- though, again, I do not know if Rich was involved in removing information from the DNC server, and I do not know the circumstances surrounding his death other than what was said in the police report. I just would LIKE to know. I’m glad to see that the FBI won’t be able to let this drop.

The FBI reportedly have over 20,000 pages of documents related to Seth Rich, as well as his laptop. For three years previously, they had apparently denied involvement in any investigation of Rich’s death or being in possession of his laptop. It was probably hidden away with with Hunter Biden’s laptop till President Trump’s first impeachment was over, haha.

Finally, don’t let this note of encouragement blind you to something less impressive that’s happening at the DOJ. Just a month before his father was inaugurated President of the United States, Hunter Biden hired a new attorney, former federal prosecutor Chris Clark, to assist with his federal criminal defense. Hunter is reportedly under investigation for tax evasion and money laundering allegations, with a “potential counterintelligence component,” according to AXIOS.

But here’s the real story: On Inauguration Day, one of Clark’s close colleagues, Nicholas McQuaid, a fellow partner at Latham & Watkins, was asked to temporarily lead the DOJ’s criminal division. McQuaid is one of a handful of acting assistant attorneys general appointed by President Biden on his very first day.

Does anything about this seem not quite kosher to you? Biden quickly appoints someone to head the DOJ’s criminal division who was a business partner of the attorney now representing his own son, who is under investigation? Under Biden, there’s supposedly an “ethics pledge” that bars federal officials from participating in matters involving former employers unless they receive “a waiver of relevant laws and regulations.” Well, that’s isn't that reassuring?

"Potential conflict between lawyers entering government and their former clients or firms are quite common,” said Kedric Payne, senior director for ethics at the Campaign Legal Center. “This situation is one of the many initial tests of Biden’s ethics pledge, which looks great on paper, but time will tell if it’s effective in practice. Enforcement is essential.”

Now we can all wonder if Biden’s ethics pledge will be enforced when it comes to the investigation of his son. The suspense is killing me.

I read your newsletter most of the time, and I watch "The Five" every day. I'd like to pass along a suggestion. It seems that most people have forgotten that separation of children from their parents at the border started with the Obama administration. This "separation" is talked about constantly, but only when referring to the Trump administration. I believe that every single time it is mentioned, credit should be given where credit is due. Don't I also remember that the "cages" were built by the Obama administration? Why isn't this brought up? It seems like vilifying former President Trump is the only purpose this is still in the news.

The chances of anything coming to fruition out of Durham or anyone else investigating the criminal action against Donald Trump is about the same as an iceberg forming in the Sahara desert. This new administration will block anything that will give Trump justice.

So years of thinking people would be charged with criminal activities which started during the Obama Administration and almost all of Trump years in office and nothing. NOTHING. I knew there was a deep state or swamp but nothing like this where no one goes to jail and the huge coverups by the MSM, the courts, the judges, the DNC, the FBI, DOJ, CIA, etc. I have lost all faith in the people that are supposed to represent us but instead are there to keep getting elected which by the way I lost faith in that process as well. I am afraid the 2 party system is DOA in Nov. 2020.

These people have no idea how disgusted Americans who love this country are with all this dishonesty and crime that is being swept under the carpet. There is no way the fraud in this election should be ignored and every effort should be made to right every wrong. The Democratic party and its leaders are a disgrace, but the Republican party and its leaders are not hurting themselves to get to the bottom of these wrongs. Since when did it become ok to burn down businesses, steal, and kill people in so called protests?

Thank you for your truthful news. I think President Trump was a wonderful president. I also think there was deceit in the election & he did not incite the Capitol insurrection in any way. Thank you for speaking out. I also think your show is great. Sincerely, Peggy

Just because someone is indicted does not mean accountability and proper punishment. They are all in bed with each other.

Nothing will be done. The inmates from Arkum are running the asylum now. Heck, nothing was done when "our side", you know, presumably the good guys, was capable of it.

A phrase that should never be used —“Biden has ethics “! His entire life has been one lie after another. Sorry if this upsets anyone but truth sometimes hurts! And he has the audacity to say anything about Donald Trumps character or morals! He needs to clean his own house before saying anything about anyone.

Governor, thank you for your reporting. Especially this update on the impeachment hearing. I hope the Democrats take heed and dismiss the impeachment, as it is apparent to all that it is a vendetta and not a credible, constitutional event.
If they don't take heed, and call witnesses I would like every single senator and congressman or congresswoman that given publicly inciting speeches as witnesses. They should be faced with the public airing of their words and asked if they were impeached. Maybe then, the public would see what they voted for. But that's still a far shot.

The slap on the wrist for Kevin Clinesmith's criminal actions are maybe the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I no longer have ANY confidence in our Federal government, period!

Seems like there's a lot of evidence as to the corruption that led to the Russia Russia Russia debacle, but there also seems to be an abundance of foot-dragging and evasion regarding the investigation of that. As a private, individual citizen what if anything can be done to stir our government leaders into meaningful action on this? Trump being ousted aside, this sort of chicanery cannot be allowed to propagate. What's your advice?

  • Richard James Burge

Biden said during his totally corrupt campaign, that his faith is very personal (?). I thought we are supposed to share our faith.

This should've been a clue to anyone with functioning brain cells. Hmm

    Gov. Mike:
I appreciate the light you shine on these subjects and I feel you do bring the truth out.
But it’s so discouraging and depressing when we read of these instances where nothing is done! What is a regular citizen supposed to do? Is it hopeless that we’ll ever find our way back from the point of no return?
I know God has a plan for all of our lives and really that’s the best hope we have.

We hear all the talk about the mismanagement of Democrat run cities. I am ,like many others opposed to bailing out these mismanaged, crime ridden, no control, leaders allowing the left to literally destroy the city, businesses, homes and lives if their residents. The best example of what happens to cities like these is ---Detroit Michigan. Below are some statistics that show what happens in Democrat run cities.
Detroit had 670,031 residents in 2019, according to the Census estimate. That's a decline of 2,496 compared to 2018's population, a 0.4 percent loss. The Motor City's population has plummeted since 1950, when it was the fifth largest U.S. city with 1.8 million people.(May 21, 2020)

These other cities wanting to be bailed out need to declare bankruptcy and die their death just like Detroit did.

There is no longer a justice system or a form of government that is not corrupt. There is no Democratic party or Leftist, they are just Communist puppets that are doing what they are paid to do by the China Leaders to ruin our country. How can the Justice department keep looking the other way when the vast majority of the USA citizens that are truly informed know that the elections have been fraudulently stolen. Who in their right mind would ever vote for a Democrat ever again. Biden is step by step trying to ruin this Country so the it will be easy for the Chinese take over and our justice department that is sworn to protect the US citizens is letting them do it.

The FBI and the DOJ are certainly right. Americans do not trust them and for good reason. I just hope they have not waited too long to try and prosecute the ones who have done such evil destruction to our great democracy.
