Evening Edition - December 20

December 20, 2019

I mentioned yesterday that while the media were distracted with covering (and in some cases, celebrating) the impeachment vote, other important stories were being ignored. For instance, you might have heard that the House passed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 (NDAA 2020), blandly described as a “national defense bill” to keep the military funded, protect the homeland and give a raise to our soldiers. Naturally, President Trump is expected to sign it. But he might want to read carefully first.  It's a textbook illustration of the need for a line item veto.

Here’s what you weren’t told: buried in its thousands of pages were a lot of surprises, including amnesty for about 4,000 Liberian illegal aliens, visas for 4,000 Afghan officials, paid family leave for government employees, and something called the “Fair Chance Act” that bars the government from asking job applicants if they have a criminal record (aren't there enough criminals working in our government already?)

https://www.conservativereview.com/news/ban-box-pro-criminal-legislation-snuck-national-defense-bill/

Also tucked away amid all the verbiage is something called the “Parole in Place” act that supposedly helps the families of military members, but that critics say overturns one of Trump’s executive orders tightening immigration law and creates legislative precedent for a future Democratic President to greatly expand amnesty for illegal aliens.

https://cis.org/Arthur/Why-Parole-Place-NDAA

What do programs like this have to do with the military? Only that they’re hidden inside this massive bill like soldiers inside the Trojan Horse.

As Daniel Horowitz in the first article linked above reminds us, this is what James Madison was talking about when he said, “It will be of little avail to the people, that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood.”

On the plus side, another story that was obscured by the impeachment brouhaha was that while the House was doing what it had no business doing, the Senate was actually taking care of business by confirming 13 more Trump judicial nominees in two days (12 on Thursday alone!) That makes a total of 187 Trump-nominated judges so far, far outstripping Obama.

https://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/senate/475420-senate-confirms-13-trump-judicial-nominees-in-end-of-year-sprint

A spokesman for one leftwing legal organization fumed that this was “the most underrated story of the Trump era.” They accuse Republicans of “stacking the courts,” which I guess is only bad if you do it by winning the White House and Senate, but fine when you do it by rewriting the Constitution to bloat the Supreme Court to 18 seats. Since the left's go-to tactic for imposing policies the public would never vote for is to get unelected judges to write laws, it must be terrifying for them to see the courts getting “stacked” with judges who will actually do their jobs according to the Constitution rather than following Nancy Pelosi’s example and just making it up as they go along.

--------------------------

I know you were probably burned out on watching Democrats lie to you, but there was another Presidential debate last night. Even though they were down to only seven candidates, it still lasted three hours! It was like watching Martin Scorcese’s “The Irishman,” only the Trump-hating stars were even older.

The debate almost didn’t come off because the candidates refused to cross a food workers’ picket line, but the DNC intervened on the union’s behalf and got a tentative deal that allowed the debate to go on. In other words, they used their political power to coerce the bosses into giving them something that benefited them in the 2020 election, or as Adam Schiff calls that, a “quid pro quo” (i.e., an IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE!!)

It’s generally agreed that there were a few exciting dust-ups and the PBS moderators were better and tougher than those on CNN and MSNBC (they must not have gotten the memo that said their unofficial job title was “cheerleaders.”) Biden and Warren were deemed reasonably strong, Klobuchar was the standout, and Buttigieg had the worst night. The others ganged up on Mayor Pete, slamming him for his lack of experience and taking donations from billionaires (pretty hilarious, considering all the money the party takes from George Soros, Hollywood and Silicon Valley, not to mention they have TWO billionaire candidates, one of whom was standing on stage at that very moment, for no discernible reason.)

Warren slammed Buttigieg for holding a fundraiser in a crystal-filled cave with $900-a-bottle wine, and asked who do you think would attend that? I was going to guess Mike Bloomberg, but Marianne Williamson might show up for the crystals.

To me, the overriding theme, as it so often is at these debates, was the total denial of reality. For instance…

Whenever Democrats aren’t in power, they talk about America as if we’re in a Great Depression (when only they are.) They paint a picture of workers suffering and the middle class collapsing, when that was only true when they were in power. Since Trump took over, we have record-low unemployment and rising wages in all demographics, but you’d never know it from watching that.

On impeachment, we got the now-familiar rhetoric about honoring the Founders and the Constitution, coming from the leaders of a party who’ve spent the past few years telling us that the Founders were old, slave-owning white guys whose statues should be torn down and the Constitution is an outdated parchment that should be considered a “living document” and completely rewritten. Who knew these liberals were all such strict constructionists?

Mayor Pete continued pushing the false narrative that then-Indiana Gov. Mike Pence oppressed him somehow. He claimed he has proven wide appeal to voters because he’s a “gay dude who won in Mike Pence’s Indiana,” smearing Pence and his home state as synonyms for homophobic bigots. In fact, Pence was never anything but kind and supportive toward him, South Bend is a longtime Democrat stronghold (hence its current problems), and out of a population of about 100,000, in his landslide reelection win, he garnered a whopping 8,515 votes.

Warren was asked about economists who say her massive spending plans would require huge tax hikes, and she simply dismissed them as “plain wrong.” Some liberal pundits called her response “brilliant,” but I think they’ve confused that term with “plain delusional.”

Joe Biden managed to avoid nipping at Bernie Sanders’ waving hands, but I can’t imagine anyone voting for someone for President who has such a cavalier attitude about the negative effects of his policies on Americans. When asked if he would push his anti-fracking agenda even if it cost hundreds of thousands of jobs, he answered yes without the slightest hesitation. These people never seem to have a moment’s concern about spending other people’s money and killing other people’s jobs. Joe claimed he would create better-paying jobs than the good-paying fracking jobs. I guess that means he plans to get us all $80,000-a-month gigs on the board of Burisma.

From yesterday:

Abortion activists don’t spend all their time and energy trying to prevent pregnant women from learning the truth about what abortion really is.  They’ve also been working to promote the widespread availability of abortion-inducting drugs by claiming they’re a safe alternative to early-term abortion with little-to-no complications or side effects.  If you saw the movie “Unplanned,” you’ll remember that was what Abby Johnson was told, and she thought she was going to die from the painful side effects.

Well, in the interest of helping women make a truly informed choice about their reproductive health, here’s a story about a study recently published in the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons.  It found that abortions induced by drugs given to women up to the 10th week of pregnancy are far more dangerous than advertised, and have a complication rate four times higher than surgical abortion.

https://www.lifenews.com/2019/12/18/studies-show-abortion-pill-is-dangerous-for-women-24-women-have-died-thousands-injured/

Here’s a quote from that article:

“According to the research, risks include ruptured ectopic pregnancies, hemorrhage, infection and retained pregnancy tissue, which require surgery in as many as one in 20 women. The FDA reports at least 24 women have died along with their unborn babies from the drugs, and thousands more have been injured.”  Between 2000 and 2018, the FDA reports there have been 24 deaths, 97 ectopic pregnancies, 1,042 hospitalizations, 599 blood transfusions, and 412 infections (including 69 severe infections), with a total of 4,195 adverse events reported,” due to these drugs.  And it could be much higher, since only 28 states require clinics to report such complications.

Meanwhile, the abortion industry claims they’re so safe, they dispense them remotely by webcam so that women don’t even have to see a doctor before taking them.

Tell me again about how these people are the guardians of women’s health.

Interesting story about how, despite more than $1 billion in spending to eliminate homelessness, Seattle’s homeless problem just keeps getting worse. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that “progressive” officials are spending most of the money on fighting “oppression” and “(interrogating) the current structures of power” in order to “examine the legacies of structural racism in our systems, and co-design a path towards liberation with black, indigenous, brown and other marginalized communities.”

https://www.city-journal.org/seattle-progressive-municipal-employees

Silly me, I would have spent the money on shelters, drug and alcohol programs, mental health care and job placement.  Let’s hope that the next increase in the homeless population comes from those officials being thrown out of office and into the street.

I think that the dems are going to try and stretch out this hoax process of an impeachment trial over next year by keeping the processes of the Senate held up, waiting for rulings in multiple courts, including the SCOTUS, until election day so that it looks as bad as possible for the President, as he will be seen as a politician with court trials hanging over his head during an election and the dems hope that it will be enough for him to lose the election. It is a long-shot of a strategy but as careless as they have been throughout the whole process this far they might just be desperate enough to try it since I believe it may be seen by them as their only option.

Even with the humor, the blogs about the debate were hard to read through. It's hard to remember all the facepalm statements, but I think pocahontas brought up health care for transgenders---uhmm...they have access to health care--it's just that, if you are a man who is a transgender woman---you can't go to a gyn. The internal components aren't compatible with what the gyn specializes in. Period.

I don't know--maybe it would have been a good idea for the citizens in coal country to hear biden shout out (and I mean SHOUT out) "YES!!!" when asked if he was okay for the number of job losses (I think 100,000 was mentioned) in order to do the green deal. Bet that would have them all clamoring to the polls to make sure he's elected. One thing joe and the others who are of the same mind need to take into consideration--that's a whole lot of people who would no longer be paying taxes--and taxes is what is needed to fund all the green deals and medicare for all, etc etc etc. Oh, I know, the people displaced there can be hired to tear down all the existing buildings to erect buildings that would meet ocasio's green deal qualifications!!!

And, speaking of ocasio and her win/lose whatever she was getting at, I'm just pretty darn sure I heard hil saying during a Trump-hil debate that SHE (hil, of course, not ocasio) would accept the results of the election, of course!!! Uhm--yeah, that was a promise not kept.

Until America gets its children taught by Americans who are patriotic and proud OF America, who are morally upright, Christian or believers in The Christian God,taught that laws are made to protect citizens from becoming victims of those who would do anything to destroy what we have here in America, taught to respect life at conception, taught manners are good, illegal drugs are bad, till these things and more happen again, we are going to have a bad time here in America and the upcoming generation is going to be so confused about right and wrong, America may not exist as we know it in the near future. It starts at home, and in our schools. God help us all. Please.

After watching the Hannity Special on Foxnews.com tonight with the superb guests and hosts as well as clips of "the fiascos of the dems" for this week, I have concluded that the best bang for the buck is for President Donald J. Trump to start pouring money into the campaign coifers of all the frontrunners in the Democrat party. When a moron is hanging himself it is standard procedure in Texas to throw him plenty of rope. You never know what is going to come crawling out of the swamp when you throw in a large dose of truth.

Just another prime example of the Communist/Democrat/Muslim Party working hard from the inside to tear apart and destroy the United States. Apparently with Democrats in charge of the House, it is impossible to defend the nation without importing even more America-hating terrorists and leeches.

If Trump passes the spending bill as a Conservative Christian I may sit out the next election. Many soldiers are reporting hatred of Trump now by a recent military survey. Why is the president pushing vaccines. It has been proven that they are full of mercury (thermasol), aborted fetal cells (which cause cancer), fluoride (toxin), barium, etc. The thousands of children that have been damaged from vaccines is compelling. Ask Robert Kennedy. He is fighting with all his might to stop the drug companies from putting compounds in vaccines that

We still don't see any of those pretty boy millionaires with the NFL kneeling in front of a homeless person or giving them those expensive shoes that were donated to them so the public can bid on them...nope. they don't like our (the USA) treatment of their "African American" brothers...then they should go back to Africa and get their "people" to quit selling their "people" to their "people"...it's still happening all the while they are making the big bucks. Me. Huckabee, I think I know what Pelosi is planning. McConnell and Graham have both said that would not impeach Trump in various ways. RBG was on something saying if they cannot commit to being objective, Pelosi could file on them and they could be not be allowed to be judges. They need to be told this so they convince them that they can and stop making remarks about working with Trump and whitehouse. Can you somehow get this info to them? I am not a crackpot. Lol.

But it takes the government to help the homeless...sad.

Lol. All senators should agree.

If you really want to hear more on this, Mary Anne Marsh has a write-up with clips at Fox News:

https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/december-democratic-debate-winners-losers-mary-anne-marsh

But the most entertaining way to absorb the event is to scroll back through a couple of live blogs of it, such as Stephen Green’s at PJ Media…

https://pjmedia.com/blog/liveblogevent/drunkblogging-the-democratic-debate-impeach-this/

...and the crew at Townhall.com. There are some great observations and sharp one-liners in this, such as Katie Pavlich’s comment that the way these candidates talk about climate change, it’s going to kill us all before Nancy Pelosi sends the articles of impeachment to the Senate.

https://townhall.com/liveblog/2019/12/19/seven-not-very-diverse-candidates-square-off-in-pbspolitico-democratic-debate-n80

I knew AOC had some problems in the thinking department, but she’s now apparently mistaking her own reflection for someone sitting across the aisle from her.

------------------------------------

----------------------

But it takes the government to help the homeless...sad.

Lol. All senators should agree.

I am someone who has trusted your judgement for many years so what do you make of the Christianity Today attack on President Trump. I have not subscribed for years but did not expect anything like this and wonder what is behind it, or why they are coming out with this now. Do you have any insight? Thanks.
