Recently, police officers have become targets of hatred, assaults and even deadly violence. Right now is a perfect time to stop and reflect on the many ways in which police officers and other first responders such as firefighters and EMTs give up their holidays so that we can enjoy ours in safety.

A few years ago, inspired by my book “A Simple Christmas,” I asked listeners of my radio show to share their favorite family Christmas memories. Today’s story shows us that Dr. Seuss was right: Christmas is not something that comes from a store. Christmas means a whole lot more.

No matter what corner of the United States you may reside in, the opioid epidemic also resides. This epidemic’s vise-like grip shows few signs of letting go as it casts its shadow across communities, large and small.
This week, I’m sharing family stories inspired by my book "A Simple Christmas" and sent to me a few years ago by my radio listeners. Warning: today’s is not for the weak of stomach.

Fox Business host Trish Regan slammed President Trump and the GOP tax reform bill because it fails to keep Trump’s campaign promise to do away with the carried interest deduction. That lets investors reclassify their income to pay a lower rate than salaried workers.
A recent poll found that due to the media credulously repeating the left’s hyperbolic attacks on the new tax reform bill (which even some honest liberal outlets have admitted aren’t true), only 17% of Americans believe they will pay less or get bigger refunds, even though nearly 80% actually will.
Hollywood liberals can’t even admit they’ve been acting like predatory, sexist pigs without finding some way to politicize and virtue-signal. And so, we get news...
Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer had barely finished his latest looking-down-his-nose-glasses lecture to us when he got slapped in the face with the big halibut of reality.
Democrats have spewed forth a lot of ridiculously over-the-top reactions to the passage of the GOP tax reform bill (it’s Armageddon, the death of democracy, the worst bill ever passed, etc.), but one of the most colorful came from California Rep. Jackie Spiere...

Nancy Pelosi likened the Republican tax bill to “Armageddon” not long back. Of course, Democrats treat every Republican proposal as if it were exactly that, but this time she really means it!
Have you been so busy with last minute work before the Christmas break, holiday shopping, putting up the tree and decorating the house, and all the other end-of-year activities that you missed the latest hair-on-fire OUTRAGE by the anti-Trump left? If so, then thank God: it means you have a life.

Democrats hoped that the Robert Mueller investigation of “Russian collusion” in the election would be like a stick that they could use to whack President Trump. Instead, it’s turned into a piñata that keeps dropping surprises every time you poke at it, and most of them are not harming Trump.
In the latest eyebrow-elevating move by Robert Mueller’s team, it was discovered that his investigators seized tens of thousands of emails from President Trump’s White House transition team without a warrant.
For those wild-eyed conspiracy mongers who think that Obama holdovers are desperate to destroy President Trump because he might uncover some shocking and nefarious abuses of power that they were counting on Hillary to keep buried…well, you’re probably right.
