Proving the old saw that “A fool and his money are soon parted,” there’s a GoFundMe account for the legal defense of fired former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

We’ve been waiting interminably for the Inspector General’s report on procedural problems and political bias relating to the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified materials.

At the end of last week, word was that with the exit of John Dowd, President Trump’s lead attorney in the special counsel investigation, Trump was bringing on the husband-and-wife legal team of Joseph diGenova and Victoria Toensing.

With all the gleefully obsessive media focus on whether or not President Trump will fire special counsel Robert Mueller (he won’t) and spark a Watergate-style Constitutional crisis (not gonna happen), some interesting developments got shoved to the wayside.

I’ve been watching in amazement all the fuss and fury over the firing of former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, simply because career investigators and ethics officials in his own agency recommended it due to alleged offenses that other people have faced indictment over.

When I used to do my radio show, the announcer would come back from a commercial break with the slogan: “He’s conservative...but he’s not mad at anybody.”

In recent commentaries, I’ve made flip remarks about Andrew McCabe leaving the FBI to collect his pension, just as Lois Lerner of the IRS is collecting hers. Well, Lerner gets to keep hers, but it turns out that McCabe’s pension is very much in play.

The “Russia” investigation goes on and on, with no evidence of collusion by the Trump team but nevertheless with no end in sight. At this point, people who are trying to do their jobs in the White House and in Congress, from the President on down, are understandably impatient.

ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN was on Turner Classic Movies a few days ago, and just thinking about that film brings back all the intrigue of the Watergate scandal.

We can be Republican or Democrat or Independent, but above all, we should simply be Americans. What binds us together is not specific policies or political candidates, but a commitment to a Constitution that limits the power of government over our lives and protects our fundamental liberties.

What do you know? The dog that ate the FBI’s homework coughed it up! Just days after the FBI claimed it couldn’t turn over text messages between rabidly anti-Trump paramours Peter Strzok and Lisa Page due to a “tech glitch” that had eaten all the records, they’ve already been recovered.

When we say, “drain the swamp” at the Justice Department and FBI, it’s not a swipe at the integrity of the entire intelligence community, though many Democrats are trying desperately to portray it as such.

The story of the alleged corruption and anti-Trump partisanship at the highest levels of the FBI and DOJ is picking up speed, with yesterday’s revelations of one text message referring to a “secret society” of insiders working to block or bring down the President, and the laughable claim...

The FBI “lost” presumably thousands of text messages from FBI agent Peter Strzok and girlfriend/legal assistant to Andrew McCabe Lisa Page –- from a key stretch of time in the Russia investigation –- but right now they must both be wishing even more had been “unretrievable.”

To quote Dana Carvey’s “SNL” character, “The Church Lady,” “Well, isn’t this conveeeeeenient?”

In a stunning confluence of events, on the very day the Senate approved the “Section 702” provision that allows the FISA court to expand its authority to spy (apparently on Americans), we now have evidence that puts us very close to concluding that during the Obama administration, in a flagrant abuse of power...

Those who (like me) have believed for a long time that “the fix was in” regarding the investigation of Hillary Clinton by the FBI have even more reason today for drawing that conclusion.

The House Intelligence Committee has been trying for some time to find out what role the infamous Trump dossier, paid for by the DNC and Hillary’s campaign, played in the decision to investigate possible collusion between Trump and Russia. \

On Wednesday, just for grins, I posted a parody letter to special counsel Robert Mueller from Jeannie Rhee, who had just been exposed as someone with huge legal and political ties to Hillary Clinton.

Like a once-sleek automobile that’s now up on blocks in someone’s front yard, the Robert Mueller investigation is falling apart in public.
